Peter and his caring, intelligent team have cared for all our trees, shrubs and gardens on this 1 acre historic property on the Common for over 25 years and they are quintessential in their providing natural and effective nutrients that have resulted in the the most beautiful and healthy gardens and trees imaginable. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Boston Tree Preservation is fantastic! Their organic approach to caring for our trees, shrubs, plants and lawn is great. Everything looks so happy after each visit and our soil health has improved over the last few years. It's also so nice for me and my dogs to be able to go out after each application because there are no pesticides, just smells a little kelpy which is fine with me! Each time they are here they leave a sheet listing what was applied, which is fun to read. Mr Wild, the office staff, and the people who provide the services are friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. I totally recommend.

Gave us recommendations for our redwood in California despite them being in Boston. Definitely recommend!

Organic Skeeter Defeater Application Program Mosquitoes mid day seem to be getting worse these past few years in Arlington when I am gardening, never was an issue; my opinion ,my neighbors exposed compost pile is partly contributing to the population infestation. I have been a customer for 40 years with Boston Tree Preservation and last summer 2021 I decided to try the Organic Skeeter Defeater 6 application program. I was pleasantly surprised that this Organic Skeeter Defeater Application did help especially July 2021 which was a wet month . Only once did it rain right after the morning application and was not as effective until the next months application. When I spoke to the person who was applying this product and mention it had rained, if I had called the next day someone would have come back to retreat the property.

First, I love the name of the business. I cringe every time I hear a chain saw taking down a tree from my "tree-lined streets" neighborhood. And Peter is all about saving the trees! He is incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, and responsive. I sent pictures of my browning Arborvitae Trees and a Red Bud tree that was not thriving. He told me that if the tree was more than 50% dead, it was not going to make it - which was just the advice I was seeking but could not find the answer. As "tree doctors" who try to save trees, he told me since mine were beyond repair, that it was better to just buy new ones. I really, really appreciated the time he took to look at my pictures, talk to me, and give me definitive answers. Now I finally know what to do. I trust that any tree, lawn, bushes, or plants that CAN be saved and/or helped to prosper and thrive, Peter is undoubtedly the guy to do it. Thank you so much, Peter! :)

We have used Boston Tree Presevation to protect some favorite trees (insect control for hemlock and stewardia) and fertilizing our other trees. They are uniformly excellent. Recently I had a problem with a 40 year old indoor/outdoor potted citrus tree. They asked for photos and diagnosed it over the phone suggesting a remedy that I got for less than $20 from Amazon. Prior garden shop "experts" gave alternating advice of more expensive and useless chemicals. I highly recommend this firm.

We use Boston Tree Preservation to spray our trees. They're great about honoring our request for a call before they come, which we really appreciate. I also just got off the phone with the owner/head arborist Peter Wild. I had sent him a picture of a strange web and eggs on my Japanese maple. He was so nice! Not only did he tell me he didn't think it was a problem, he was genuinely interested in what I found and also stayed on the phone to answer some additional questions I had about my landscape. So nice and clearly care about the environment.

We've relied on them for the last 5 years and they keep getting better. They've got: Expert arborists who love trees passionately, organic treatments that are hard on pests and easy on everyone else, and the trucks and back-office systems to deliver it to your yard. For 5 years we've had BTP spray in Spring for Winter Moths--the "inchworms" that ate my Apple blossoms in April and savage Maples, Lindens, and Elms in May. Calling earlier got us sprayed earlier, when worms were smaller and easier to kill organically. Pre-paying in January at a discount also gets you earlier on the list. Do it. New trucks and diligent crews--often led by a top boss or arborist. In 2018, BTP came early to spray just my Apples in April (blossoms are vulnerable when it is too early to spray the other trees) and today came back to spray the Maples and Elm. This "custom" service--and having apples for the first time in years--is what inspired me to write it all out in a review. Better still, they also offer fall spray of Cedar oil that organically camouflages trees to make the egg-laying Winter Moth swarm not lay eggs in the first place. In 2018, most leaves emerged without the telltale "first bites", and then spraying did the rest.
