I usually don t do bad reviews, but they charge you for work they didn t do. I m a senior, on a budget, good thing I checked my account.

There are no professionals here, just some regular person who dont honor times and slots, and doesnt communicate any changes to their schedule (kept saying ohh something came up Ill come tomorrow when I asked why they didnt show up). Disappointed.

I think it is a really great service to have! When you look outside and know that your lawn needs to be mowed just call up lawnstarter! Or go online! Youll enjoy their service! And they do beautiful work!

I used them last year all season and they WERE great. I liked the price and the app was great. However, this year I keep being scheduled and they keep cancelling on me telling me theres no crew available. Im an existing customer. I should get priority. Not fair. Customer service message took 4 days to get a response. Going to look elsewhere.

This was some of the worst customer experiences I ve ever had. They provided me with conflicting schedules, and then the provider who was actually scheduled to mow my lawn completely ghosted me. They never responded tho messages through the Lawn Starter app, and then never showed up during the three day scheduling window. I called their customer service line and could never get anyone on the line. I would accept a callback in the queue, which would be anywhere from an hour to 4 hours later. When someone did call back, it was a contracted customer service rep from Detroit. They have left me hanging for a week and I now have to find another lawn service company to help. This has been an awful experience.

Not worth the hassle. If youre checking the reviews after having already gone through the rigmarole, sorry. You likely checked the app the seen cancelations to which you werent informed of. Dont use them, their review is below 4 for a reason.

I only has 2 mows and each time over 3-5 hours later then they initially stated and now no show ..and then I now have to dispute if there is a long grass fee that they charge due to no one showing up when scheduled and then told I have to dispute a long grass fee for whenever they decide to show up ..instead I should not be charged a long grass fee in the first place as they are not well organized Fustrating!!!!

Disrespectful crew. The crew left my yard gate wide open the last two times they were here! I have a dog that couldve gotten out of the yard! Also, they notified me that service was completed two days ago when no one ever came! When I messaged the pro, he first replied as if he didnt even know he was scheduled. His following messages mentioned inclement weather (the weather has been clear for days, and if it was too hot he didn t elaborate) and then rudely commented about my dogs droppings. I want to note that I do acknowledge and apologize about the dog droppings, however this situation and the last couple of mowings make me uncomfortable doing business with this company. I am sorry to have to write this review but hopefully it warns folks or improves service for future customers.

LawnStarter has been a great service for me and my tenants! I live out of state, and LawnStarter makes it easy for me to rely on their excellent maintenance of lawn and bushes. The only thing I would wish for is photos of the finished work; Im sure the other remote clients would appreciate that. Thank You!

Horrible experience..even when they acknowledge you cancelled they come out do unwanted service and bill you. When you call for customer service they say you reopened account. Asked for manager hung up on me. Let me tell you about Christian my 1st experience.. Showed up at 520 near dark. Initiated under the table tree trim. Did it in the DARK until 11:20 pm broke down in his beater truck in the front of my house . Scammers. This time they said no access to yard. #1 You werent supposed to be here. #2 my gate is wide open. Im NOT paying for the 2/9 visit. Your peoples edging and my idea are two widely different spectrums. NEVER USE THESE RANDOM LOSERS OR GET CAUGHT UP. TO BBB I guess.

Were in the Greater Seattle area and have had an overall very positive experience using LawnStarter for just about a year now. I love that the lawn service can be ordered and managed though their app or website - its like Postmates for your lawn care! LawnStarter was also ~50% cheaper to do a basic mow + edging job than other crews in our area. From reading other reviews, it seems that the quality of service is hit-or-miss based on the crew assigned to your home. We were fortunate to have Coben assigned to our house, as he and his team have been communicative and on time, and they go the extra mile to ensure not only our lawn, but also our patio and deck are clear of leaves and clippings. Highly recommend trying out LawnStarter based on the positive experience weve had.

Ive been always satisfied with the work by Coben. He is the professional, clean after his work, neat cut, and even a boundary trimming.

Our LawnStarter professional, Dana, has been outstanding. He is timely, professional, efficient, and does very good quality work on our lawn and in our yard. Highly recommend!

This business is a joke. They schedule you with no clue when the people are coming. They have no issues taking a payment from you, yet they never show.

Existing customer , poor service, They dont know what they are doing, Similar experiences, I get a message in app that lawn has been mowed, guess what it wasnt, Customer rep dont know how to address the issue, just read things from the database, which is no help at all

Ronald, my landscaper was amazing working hard to make our jungle looking yard look presentable. I like my yard results and will be using him again. LawnStarter is a great app to utilize to find services.

I signed up for lawn care. After the second day of no show, I called them and was told they were still looking for a provider. When asked why I wasn t contacted about the delay, I was told they would send an email once they found a provider. Checked the app this morning and it says services have been cancelled. After reading reviews from other clients, it sounds like I dodged a bullet here. Saved me the trouble of cancelling myself. Don t use this company, they are just middle men and have horrible customer service.

No Show. Maybe theyre good, maybe theyre not, but I wouldnt know since they didnt show up or respond to my texts.

On time and did a great job.

They look to be subcontracting the lawn mowing to subcontractors. They were supposed to come every other week. Altogether they came 3 times. In all of those 3 times it had to be rescheduled up to a week later because whoever mowed the lawn canceled the service and they had to find a different person to mow the lawn instead. The fourth time they were not able to find a person to mow the lawn and cancelled the service altogether instead. Completely unreliable and dependent on whether they are able to find a subcontractor willing to do the service. Looks like they cant quite often but wont tell you unless you call them several times. When they came then 2 of the 3 different subcontracted crews did a good job but one of them left the grass quite tall even though I specified that the grass should be cut short in their app.

I think the idea of Lawn starter is great, but the application does not work. I was to have my first service on 5/23. They never showed up. I finally message the crew and gave me a window of time on 5/26. Never showed up. I spoke texted with Brian F. Through the app. He assured me his crew would be there on 5/31 between 8-9. Never showed. Looked on the app to fine the job was given/taken by another crew. Texted Owen of the crew. He initially was very unprofessional. He did say he would be here on Wednesday. I went to contact him through the app to get a time frame. I saw my service was cancelled. I am unable to contact him through the app. All I want is to get my lawn mowed. I canceled the service and will find someone else. Follow through and communication is terrible to non existent.

They no showed **3 times** the first visit they confirmed would be on Thursday or Friday, didn t show up and didn t notify us they weren t coming. They did it again the following week after confirming via email they would be there a Thursday or Friday. I had to call their 800 number and leave a message, they responded via email, they were sending a different crew out. The crew was supposed to be here yesterday and no showed. It s now 12:30 and they still have no showed up. Do not use this company they will not show up and they will give you runaround answers and can t manage to confirm a specific day they will be there. You would think after no showing for 2 weeks that they would probably bump up the priority to get your lawn taken care of, nope. They don t care at all. Do not waste your time or money dealing with this clown show.

After scheduling with lawnstarter the first week we were stood up by a certain crew. I called to let them know theyre understanding and rescheduled me for the following week. When Daniel came out to do our yard he was completely understanding spoke with my husband for a little bit. I like how he communicates with his customers and lets us know before he shows up. Sense we have two dogs its very nice to know when we have to keep them inside.

I have used this service for one year now and 3/2022 started out rough. The person never came but Lawn starter found me someone else and he does a really nice job on my lawn. The prices went up but still reasonable and I like that I can pay through the app and not have to be home.

They don t show up when scheduled.

Elizabeth was dispatched from LawnStarter at a very reasonable quote. She was on time and meticulously mowed and cleaned up our duplex unit. What a great quality service at a reasonable price!

I have been trying to get someone to come and cut grass for a month now.They have an app that shows the service is scheduled and no one shows up.My service was rescheduled for 4 times now.I have submitted 4 different tickets in past week from the app and have not seen any response.This is the worst service provider.DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT sign up with these guys.You will be stuck calling support and the crew never shows up. Support team gave a 15$ credit for the crew not showing up for 4 weeks.It has been 4 days now and the crew still hasnt emerged. This is not a business but a sham.

Scheduled initial service quote for overgrown yard, no show. Rescheduled, again, no show or notice. Office required debit card info for service scheduling. Have to keep in contact with my financial institution for attempts at fraud.

I scheduled to have lawn cut. I was given a window and then was told they didn t provide service for my area. Why give a confirmation then be told 3 days later, you don t provide service for my area. Not professional at all!

They charged me $158 for mediocre flower bed weeding that I couldve done myself and the weeds grew back like 3 days later

Have to edit my review. Unfortunately they ve cancelled on me 6 weeks in a row. I get it they are busy but I can t leave a 5 star review up anymore. Ronald is great! Quality work, extremely fair pricing, and he has worked around a few difficulties (roofers had things scattered around the yard and he was able to still get the job done without issue).

First, on the website it advertised a one time mow option, which honestly was all I was looking for, but when I signed up I was notified that it was not an option and I had to sign up for the minimum 3 mows. Should have seen the red flag right there. My first two mows were great, they were on time, done correctly, it was as expected. But my crew didn t get to me for my 3rd mow. So I used to app to let them know that my crew never showed. Ezra from Lawn Starter Support claimed I would have a new crew come out the next week (6/10-6/13). They did not show. Then my previous crew reached out through the app and said they would come the next week (6/16-6/17). They did not show. So I reached out to Customer Service again and heard from KB who told me someone would come out 6/20-6/21. Surprise, nobody came out. I reached out again asking why I keep getting skipped. Charize stated I d have a new crew come out on 6/28-6/29. Once again, nobody showed up. I decided to call to speak with someone and Luis insisted I d have someone 7/4-7/5 (even though it s a holiday??). I noticed nobody came on 7/4 (as anticipated) so I called today to ask where on their list I was so I knew around what time I d be serviced today and the man on the phone (didn t catch his name) said I didn t even have a crew assigned to me! That was the last straw and I just cancelled. The excuse I was given was that they have a lot of customers. If you don t have the capacity to serve all of your customers, then you shouldn t be taking on new customers in the first place. If I had known how swamped they were, I would have never signed up in the first place.

I set up an account with this outfit for lawn mowing service and yard maintenance. They set an appointment to do the work but never showed up for a whole week. I had to call them five times on 5 different days to re-set a new appointment and after a week from the original appointment they never showed up and never made an attempt to contact me. This company is a joke. I wouldnt recommend them to my enemy.

Do not use LawnStarter. I was rescheduled four times before the work even got done. That should ve been a sign. The work was quoted and not completed. The crew of one that they sent out named Jaelonie had me write a check to him rather than LawnStarter which is apparently not allowed. I emailed them the next day and put a stop payment on my check. They then charged my account for more than the quoted amount. I never approved the charge (nor have I ever received a receipt for the services) and the services that were quoted were not completed. They will not reverse the charge or even explain the charge to me. They just keep saying, Your service was marked completed. That is done by the crew , not me. So, they ripped me off for more than $150 for a half-decent lawn mowing. Update 2/10/21: Someone contacted me SIX months later offering to refund my money in exchange for removing or updating this review. He included the link to this review for my convenience . I contemplated updating it (cuz $165 ) and then decided to check out my review to see what I said. I noticed that over 200 people have seen this review. That was enough to remind me of why I wrote the review in the first place. The money was well spent if I save one person from doing business with this outfit. I have used this service a couple years back and did not have any problems so we decided to try again. The first person that came out did the usual take pictures and left information on my door. Then proceeded to go into my back yard and steal some of my yard tools I had back there. During his inspection he clearly missed that I had cameras around my house. I have him on camera taking my stuff and putting it in his vehicle. I reached out to him and told him and he said he would bring back (didnt of course). I messaged lawn started and mentioned property was stolen and got no response. I have called the number multiple times and wait on hold until the automated system forces me off saying someone will call me when they are available. No one ever calls back. Do not use this service its un trust worthy and un responsive.

They no called/no showed two days in a row. Impossible to get a hold of Customer service. Absolutely awful experience Update: said they were on their way and never showed. Disgraceful, unprofessional, and deserves no business at all.

First person did an OK job at first and then considerably got worse and then quit after not completing the job. Second person never even showed up and will not respond to messages. Waste of time.

I was so excited to use LawStarter because of the great reviews and easy booking process. However, I scheduled service this past weekend for Tuesday or Wednesday and just now found out that my service was cancelled due to there not being crews in the area. Ive turned down other yard help because I was expecting someone to show up either yesterday or today. Additionally, I got a text from LawnService yesterday saying that there was a crew in my area and they could cut my lawn for $20 as a new customer. I replied that I would love that to happen but never received a text back. So I dont understand why my service was cancelled last minute when I was specifically told via text that one of your best crews was in my area. Im extremely disappointed and frustrated by this companys communication, last minute cancellation, and mixed messaging.

I was told company would send some one out Saturday. I have been rescheduled numerous times in less than a week. There were more excuses than Carter has pills. I have no clue what their quality of work might be. They never showed up. I hope my card number is safe.

Absolute garbage business with a child s understanding of customer service. More than 3 weeks after initial scheduling, two no-show crews, 10 calls to their joke of a customer service center, and 4 escalations which resulted in a supervisor finally calling me to promise a wider search for reliable crews, which was followed by an email 10 minutes later informing me that they had cancelled my service. Do not use this company.

What a terrible experience. We contacted LawnStarter because we had broken our lawn mower, had some vacation scheduled, and had family coming to town. We thought it might be nice not to worry about the lawn for a month or so. Fast forward four weeks and our lawn has been cut once...four weeks ago. We had multiple reschedules and cancellations for rain, and heat, and for no explanation at all. I called customer service and was on hold for over an hour two days in a row. Now our yard looks like a jungle, thanks LawnStarter. Ive officially cancelled the service and deleted the app never to be used again. Dont use this service, they dont care about their customers or their business, and they certainly dont deserve yours.

Scheduled to have them come out. They cancelled an hour before our appointment, stating they never had someone to service our location. I called customer service, they said they would find someone and rebooked my appointment, and once again, they cancelled it. Don t sell an appointment you can t actually service!

Did anyone notice that the owners response was a canned response to every negative review. It would be interesting to see how many of these customers actually got taken care of!!!

I have tried without success to get their contractor Angel Arrendondo to mow my lawn. He is a 100% a scammer. He has been scheduled twice, shows up at the house, takes a photo of the house so he can say he did the work but doesnt preform the designated work that he was contracted for. I assume that he also bills lawnstarter for doing the job. Be very wary of this company.

I was looking for a zero star, but lets use 1 star here. This was my first time asking them for a lawn service, they confirmed appointment, they talk about all that app and stuff, But reality I had to face is, the person assigned to me, told me he is on the way, he is 1 hour away, he is going to come, this and that. But no one showed. I called customer service probably 10-15 times, they keep telling you will get service, and they are going to send important message to the person assigned to me, all lies.... Finally had to call them and ask for cancelling the service. Not professional, assigned person does not respond, not on time. So last week, i was fooled and LawnStarted did not do the service. Over the weekend had a 10 min call with supervisor, and she told me, we are going to assign our best crew and we are going to do the service between 08/23-08/24. Guess what, not to my surprise, no one showed up. Same thing, the crew do not respond, customer care has nothing to help other than wait for crew and if they dont show up, reschedule.. but now I am done with you. This is my 2nd review, and I think this is just a fake app and few customer care persons fooling people. If you really want service, find some one else, LawnStarted => Do not trust what they promise or say, not sure if they really run the service? dont want to spend any more time, will find other service. I had serviced scheduled, they were a multiple time no show. They would text to say they were coming and then not show up. Then after the 5th day of texting they just stopped communicating. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Lawnstarter has been a great for me. I started my business 2 years ago and it was slow going but with lawnstarter ive been able to pick up lots of extra work and build a solid client base.

Horrible service. When I used lawn starter they promised service that they are incompetent to fulfill. lawn starter repeatedly missed spots in my yard which resulted in violations with HOA and fines, and with repeatedly promised to fix the damaged yard then two weeks later decided that they don t have enough people to provide the service and that they will not be coming to fix the yard issue that they have caused. I would never recommend you to anyone

Have been using lawn starter for about a month and a half thus far. So far so good. Great communication and service.

Sarah with LawnStarter has been taking care of my yard. She does a great job with the mowing and trimming, and is fair with lawn service recommendations like weeding or offering to lay down new seed in patchy areas. The app is easy to use, and I think its a fair price per service.

Multiple reschedules and cancellations. Its been about a month and weve had one completed bi-weekly mowing and this was after two reschedules and the original crew bailing. The second scheduled mow was the same thing, still no one has come out so Ive decided to cancel. Overall a completely unreliable service.

Signed up for services and they cancelled my subscription because the demand for lawn care services in my area is high and they can t find a crew to fit my needs. A day later, I received a text from them and they said a crew will be in my area within the next few days and to follow the link to book it. I responded informing them of the prior email I received and wanted to know if this booking was a guarantee and no response. Waste of time.

I signed up to have my lawn mowed a lady named Sarah came out on June 3rd she mowed half my lawn and did not weed wack and she threw my grass clippings in my neighbors lawn and left my yard a wreck I have called and emailed about 20 times and still no one has come to fix my lawn today it has now been a week and still no one has been out to my house Then they also had the nerve to charge my card All I want is my yard mowed and weed eat and blow my drive way This company is horrible they will rob you and leave your lawn half done I m highly disappointed in lying employees saying they will call me back and send someone out to my house within 24-48 hours when they have not!

From a providers point, the way the system is setup is pretty simple and strait forward. I have had a few cases where I think a computer messed something up. And I think if instead if a CPU and it was a human dealing with it the issues would never even came up. Sometimes when calling in to try and speak to someone it I get put on hold for a long while. 10 sometimes 15 min periods, which is a long time when in the field and need assistance. But when they do get to my call they are helpful and nice.

Terrible service. Late, no edging, a guy showed up with a push lawn mower.

Worst experience ever. They only mowed half the yard. Used our tools and never put anything away. Charged us the full price. Tried to get them back to finish the job. Reschedule after reschedule after rescheduled they never came back. Then I was offered $20 to use for the next service. Quality Guaranteed If you are not happy, we wont charge you. Its as simple as that. What a joke. Do not use this service!

I ve been so pleased with LawnStarter. I love that you can control everything online- hassle free. You can pick how often you need your lawn done & no one has pressured me into upgrading . My lawn guy, Evan, has been awesome. He is quick & always extremely polite.
