Excel Lawns & Landscape is a family owned and operated lawn care and landscaping service in the heart of Des Moines. During Excel’s creation, our goal was to provide our customers with a reliable, affordable, turnkey landscaping and lawn care service. Because of this, our customers can reclaim their time and spend those nights and weekends doing what truly matters. Everyone’s idea of a yard is different. Our hope is that your property and space functions the very best way for you, as you are the one who sees it the most. My idea of a yard has changed over the years now with a special needs son and a 1- year -old daughter. The yard is a place for rolling, slides, and water toys. But, at this moment, that is what is needed for our family.

My neighbor’s tree was hit by lightning and fell into my yard. This morning, I called Excel. They have already cut up the tree and hauled everything away. Service was excellent and reasonably priced. I am very grateful!
I have to say that excel has been doing an extremely good job at keeping my lawn looking good. As much as I enjoy mowing my own yard, I will definitely keep using them and enjoying the time I get not having to mow. I highly recommend giving excel a chance at making your lawn look fantastic. I will also enjoy not having to shovel this winter as I will let excel take care of that for me as well. Keep up the good work
Excel Lawns and Landscapes has taken great care of my lawn! In addition, I contacted Mike after our last snowfall when I had over a foot of drifted, heavy snow covering my driveway and sidewalk. He came out after 9 pm on a Sunday, after plowing non-stop for 3 days and tucking his kids in bed, to get me dug out so I could make it to work on Monday. I cannot say enough good things about Excel. Thank you!
The crew at Excel Lawns and Landscape took care of lawn aeration and overseeding this fall which made yard work a breeze. Save your time and your back by letting them do the heaving lifting. I will hire them again for some of my other lawn care chores next year.
Excel Lawns & Landscape did an amazing job. We needed to change our landscaping after a neighbor put up fence that changed the esthetic of our backyard. We agreed on a design and, when I changed my mind, he was unbelievably accommodating. We are much happier with the look of our backyard now.

WE HAD SNOW REMOVAL. GREAT COMPANY, THE OWNER IS GREAT WITH KEEPING IN CONTACT AND RESPONSE. HE WAS QUICK TO REMOVE SNOW ONCE IT STOPPED SNOWING. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

I have had the good fortune to have Mike DeWiese and his crew at Excel Lawn and Landscaping work on the landscaping of my house. Last year the retaining wall on part of the front and one whole side of my house was falling over. Mike and Ryan worked diligently on it by taking the wall completely apart, leveled it out and put in a drain system; attaching it to the downspout so that the rain going down the downspout would end up draining outside the wall and not push against the wall. The drain system not only works real well but the retaining wall is now very attractive to look at. They have also trimmed all my bushes and trees and just recently created a decorative rock bed around three sides of my house with edging and white rock which really gave a fresh new curb appeal to my home. At the outset they get to know exactly what you want done and work with you on scheduling a firm date for the project to be completed. Their quotes are very reasonable and have always fit my budget. Their workmanship and professionalism is above reproach and of the highest quality. I would highly recommend Mike DeWiese and his company to anyone.

We have had an outstanding experience with Excel Lawn & Landscape! Within 48 hours of calling, Mike was at our home helping us with a fungus that had invaded our yard. Less than a week later, the yard is showing significant improvement. Mike is very responsive to questions and knowledgeable. I love that he is willing to work with us on actions we can take to coordinate our efforts with his. He chose a very reasonable course of action for our lawn issues and the price is very fair. We plan to also use Excel for aeration and seeding this fall.

Terrible company pushes snow in to roadway in front of cars very dangerous and illegal

Had a concrete patio done by Excell lawn and landscaping, it was the worst concrete job I have ever seen done and as the home owner now Im stuck with a product Im not satisfied with at all !!!!
I called and they actually answered the phone and it didnt go to voicemail. They came to see the job and gave me a fair quote and date when they would be able to do it. Job was completed on time and Im very happy with the work of the team.
