Southern Botanical Landscaping in Dallas

These guys are complete CROOKS. I have no grass. I am paying literally $1,200 to have a bunch of leaves blown around. They do NO landscaping. Absurd.

The team of David Brantley and Ben Vargas are great! Professional, knowledgeable and courteous. My yard looks amazing.

We contacted Southern Botanical for an estimate to trim and shape some live oaks, crepe myrtles and Vitek. Marco Crosland came out and made some excellent suggestions, including reviewing the roots of our patio hollys and calling attention to some issues we werent aware of. Ultimately we decided to postpone the work, but Marco was very professional with his follow up and we appreciated his attention to detail.

David is amazing! Super knowledgeable about all things trees. He won t try to oversell you on anything. Honest and hardworking. If you want your tress done right, call David! :-)

Kenney and the team took down some thick overgrowth and gave me some breathing space in my backyard - they did a fabulous job - fast - high quality work - highly recommend

We had a 40-50 year old cedar elm split and lose half of the tree. I met with Marco Crossland, who met with me to diagnose what options we have in lieu of cutting the remaining part of the tree down. His crew was able to remove branches near the top of the tree to lighten it and increase the likelihood of it s survival. They tended to the trunk damage and set the tree up for survival. From the first to the last last conversation I had with he and his team, they were professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. The said that they were going to do at the price agreed upon and then did exactly that. We know that doesn t always happen and I would definitely use them again.

When we had severe thunderstoms awhile back with 80mph + winds, my oak tree that you reinforced and repaired held up great. Unlike my next door neighbors tree where a branch broke off and fell on my fence and several of their pecan tree branches fell on my driveway in front of my garage door. Im glad I had the work done by you, otherwise I could have had at least half a tree fall on my house. Thanks.

I needed a tree cut down and interviewed multiple arborists in the Dallas area. Ended up going with Southern Botanical and could not be more impressed. They somehow cut this tree 4 story tall tree down without damaging any of its surroundings. And accidentally broke one of my sprinkler heads. When I made them aware of the break, they promptly came to my house and fixed the sprinkler. Logan, the arborist, was 10/10. Would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality job.

Marco Crosland with Southern Botanical Landscaping came to my house to discuss some yard work. He did a great job explaining what deeded to be done. He knows his business. But, more importantly he had a great personality, Enjoyed visiting with him. The landscape company who I have done business with for several years also visited. I decided to continue with them. If not, Marcos company would have been chosen.

Marco Crosland was the Arborist who came out to consult with me about a large oak tree and a sick crepe Myrtle bush. He was very knowledgeable and took his time talking with us about options for our plants. I would definitely call him again if I need the help of an arborist in the future.

SoBo Tree Care is top notch! They recently performed a commercial job at a high profile building in North Dallas. Here is my email to my account manger... Crew did a fantastic job this morning! I just walked the property and was very pleased with the quality of work. The crew leader spread the wood shavings in the bed essentially using the fresh mulch not just in the location of the stumps but all the way throughout the bed where it looked intentional. Crew was still onsite and I stopped by their truck to share my gratitude. I hope the rest of our week goes as well as this job!

Outstanding in every aspect from design to installation and beyond. We were in the middle of a 6 figure project and found ourselves dealing with a nightmare situation with another high end landscape/design company. We fired the other company and called Southern Botanical to take over the project. They jumped in and truly saved the day. Henry Payne, Operations Manager/Design Build, and his designer worked with us to get back on track--they moved quickly and efficiently to get the work completed. Cutberto and Neri, the project managers, did an impeccable job with the installation. The plant materials that were selected from the nursery were gorgeous and our yard looks spectacular. These guys were out here on a regular basis checking the irrigation settings and the plant growth. Their written estimates are professional and detailed. They do what they say they will do and plant what is actually on the proposal. Phone calls and texts are answered quickly. We highly recommend Southern Botanical for your residential project.

Southern Botanical, Gerardo and his crew did a great job trimming our trees. Very professional trimming and also cleanup. David and Gerardo were easy and great to work with on the project and know their business. Simon did a great job fertilizing all the trees afterward.

We had an incredible experience with Southern Botanical, specifically Preston our landscape designer and Cutberto our project manager. We had a complete renovation of our front yard and side yards, with all new sod, new plantings, stonework, etc. and the entire process from our first phone call to SB to the last day of work on our property was practically flawless. The communication alone is worthy of a five star review. All texts and phones calls were returned almost immediately, with the SB team even checking in on weekends to ensure all was going well. Their work and attention to detail is impeccable. I cannot recommend them enough!

Mr. David has tremendous knowledge about plants, trees and the entire botanical. I have never met so knowledgeable in my entire life He is an asset. I wish if there were 10 stars I would have given him that.

If people could only really understand the reviews provided and realize they have gifts if they do give a good feed back. I see all the lengthy responses. No need for one.

I oversee a small HOA in Turtle Creek and was not thrilled with the courtesy or service we received last year when we paid ~$1,500 for tree pruning. The salesman/supervisor only showed up for about 20 minutes at the beginning of the job, and acted put out when I asked questions about what they would be cutting, etc. He quickly left, and assumed the day laborers would finish the job. Instead, the crew did not listen to my requests to alert me before they begin pruning our three Youpons (so I could tell them what to cut and what to leave standing), and it resulted in them completely removing the only living trunk of one of those trees. The portion of the tree they left had been girdled and it subsequently died, because the trunk they removed was the only portion capable of feeding the roots. I did try to direct the crew so they didn t harm the other two Youpons, but one of the guys who only spoke Spanish acted condescendingly and began mockingly cutting at branches, indicating he was not really taking me seriously. I wrongly assumed that paying $1,500 meant a supervisor would have been here to oversee the crew and guard against this type of folly, instead that was left to me. I shouldn t have to direct the crew in the slightest considering the cost of the service. I find that charging me an effective rate of $500/hr to be ridiculous, when I m sure most on that crew barely make $30/hr. Our HOA will not be continuing to do business with this company.

Professional, timely and clear in their communication, quote process and follow- through. The team did a fantastic job with tree trimming and tree removal for certain diseased and failing trees. Very pleased with Southern Botanical.

I took over management of a property in early 2021. The groundcover and shrub beds were overgrown, the turf was not healthy and the trees were not properly cared for. Southern Botanical was hired in June 2021, and the improvement has been dramatic. I am especially grateful that SoBo notices things and brings them to my attention instead of the other way around.

Worst landscaping co. Very expensive and the work is so so. Charge me for months of landscaping fees while my home was under renovation when no landscaping could be done. Supervisors are an extra charge and are never there to inspect the work. If you like being ripped off use this company.

Great service - Big Fan of their legendary tree arborist David Brantley - seriously this guy is the tree whisperer - have used David for years and his knowledge and guidance has kept lots of healthy trees in beautiful condition at multiple homes over the years.

They pruned 3 live oak trees. Did an excellent job, very pleased with their work. Reasonable cost also. Very professional.

We have been clients of Southern Botanical for many years. They are professional, attentive and great at garden and irrigation maintenance. A few years ago, we switched due to cost and we ended up switching back to SoBo. You get what you pay for. We have always enjoyed working with our account manager - polite, friendly and knowledgeable.

Quality service. Their arborist, David, is clearly an expert. Scheduler, Lanier, and tech, Simon, are also pros. Friendly style as well.

Southern Botanical is currently handling the landscape at Overton Centre - the building I manage - the guys are a top notch professional business. Ryan is great selecting color for our property. SoBo is the best, all around company for homeowners with big yards and many plants. The key to their expertise is their garden managers who know their stuff and maintain a high level of communication with the homeowner. Taylor is my fave, but I ve had several good ones over the decades. Overall great.

I cannot recommend Southern Botanical as an HOA landscape company. They consistently engage in upcharging practices, and the quality of their work suffers when a competent property manager is not assigned. My main issue with Southern Botanical is their propensity to upcharge for almost everything. Minor additions or modifications to the landscape plan come with excessive prices, giving the impression that their focus is more on maximizing profits than delivering value to clients. If you shop around to get another quote from an outside vendor, they take offense to it. Make sure to check the line item charges on the quotes because it is quite excessive. Furthermore, the quality of the job depends heavily on the assigned property manager. While we initially had a diligent manager who maintained the landscaping and promptly addressed issues, a change in management led to a decline in quality. The new manager seemed overwhelmed with the number of properties they had to manage, significantly deteriorating the landscapes appeal. You can also tell that there crews where not trained on how to properly trim a tree, it was very evident and shows down the line. In conclusion, Southern Botanicals upcharging practices and inconsistent quality make them an unreliable choice for HOA landscape services. It is advisable to seek out alternative providers that prioritize customer satisfaction and demonstrate transparency. If you have savings in mind when making a decision for your community or business, look elsewhere. I do not like writing bad review on companies but I feel like HOA will make a mistake when selecting SBI.

I have used southern botanical several times for much smaller projects. This time it was a whole yard transformation. Victor came out to hear my ideas and he made the vision I had in mind come to reality. Neri is always here to help with irrigation questions and plant health. The few plants thst died, due to heat, have been replaced. I xan not say enough good about this company, from the top advisors to the crew. Absolutely wonderful.

We saw Southern Botanical cut down a neighbors tree and were very impressed with the job they did, so we decided to use them to cut down two trees in our yard as well. Logan was AMAZING! He listened to all of our concerns and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we were happy! I would highly recommend this company and will use them again in future!

I spotted their crews trimming TCUs magnificent live oaks one day and called. They provide great customer service by communicating really well, and my 12 large oak trees have never looked better. The arborist, Kenny, explains everything up front and even checks back to make sure the work is done to his satisfaction. I am a totally satisfied client and will be using their services again.

Southern Botanical has been great to work with as we update our residential landscaping. We ve done extensive work with them to prune trees, install a patio, replant grass, and redesign all the plant beds on our 2 acre property. Our design manager Victor has been great to work with and took the time to understand our needs and goals for the project. Cutberto was our project manager and he ensured things were done efficiently while keeping us up to date. We ve been extremely pleased with the outcome and would continue to use Southern Botanical in the future.

Southern Botanical was extremely easy to work with. Reviewed project followed by a very detailed quote as to how they would achieve the end product. After I issued the PO the project was completed promptly and on schedule. The end product exceeded my expectations. They do great work and kept me well informed throughout the whole process.

I hope whoever was driving the Toyota Tacoma (BMF-0271) on 183 crossing MacArthur has been taken care of. Guy almost caused an accident nearly hitting my vehicle after swerving into my lane multiple times because he was texting and driving.

Southern Botanicals did an excellent job in removing our dying LARGE pecan tree from start to finish. Steve Clary was very informative as to why and how it should be taken down as soon as possible. Mr. Gilbert and crew followed up with an excellent job in removing it in a very tight area. Would recommend them if you need any kind of botanical services. Great company!

Recently Southern Botanical did a long overdue pruning of my trees and cutting down 2 dead ones, and they did a fantastic job. First, Steve Clary, one of their certified arborists, came out and did a free estimate. On that first visit, he spent a good amount of time with me explaining exactly what they were going to do and getting my feedback on my needs. He was super patient and answered all my questions. He sent me the quote about a day later and answered all my follow up questions. They came out about 3 weeks later to do the work, and Steve was onsite with the crew. The crew did an awesome job, including the clean up. Really the only way I could tell they had been here was how fantastic the trees look now that they ve been properly pruned. They pruned 14 trees total, 4 of which are very large, plus cut down 2, all was completed in one day, and I thought the price was fair for the quality of the work that was done. I will definitely have them back when the trees need another trim. I highly recommend.

Installed there CCTV cameras and even stopped a couple of guys from stealing one of there truck do to me being there at the right time . I was almost killed in the process of stopping them but all in all this is a great great place here . They treat there customers like family. From the first meeting all the way through completion of our retaining wall project, Blake and his team were absolute professionals. They spent the time to make sure we all started on the same page and we stayed on the same page throughout the project. They brought good ideas and concepts to the table. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would. The finished project was both aesthetically on-point and structurally sound. Not one corner was cut at any time. I would recommend Southern Botanical and Blake for any landscape project you have - big or small.

I hope all the drivers are not the same but I came in contact with one that was speeding in and out of traffic. Instead of stopping he decided he did not need to and drove away. Very minimal damage was caused and my time was more valuable at that point than tracking down the criminal behind the wheel. I hope this criminal is not a reflection of the company itself, but the name was on the side of the truck he was driving.
