I am so happy with the garden maintenance work being done by the crews at Merrill Landscape Services! My gardens have never looked better at this time of year!

This is the first year I have used your services. So far I am very happy with the work that has been done. I also appreciate the frequent communication from your company.

I received an email saying that due to heavy snow storm (which subsided Thursday afternoon when some of my neighbors were serviced by other companies) we could only expect to be serviced Thursday or Friday. Late Friday afternoon I sent a reply simply stating I m really questioning if you have the capability to respond to your customer needs. As a result I got a reply saying that since I was not satisfied my service was cancelled. Note that I had used Merrill for my irrigation service before and the company that they outsourced the service to did a good job. I called to understand why the cancelled and the person that answered said it was because my email was rude. It was obvious that they were trying to do was to get rid of their backlog by canceling customers that complained. It is how people respond to stressful situations that we really understand how good, or in this case how poor, their services are.

The staff with Merrill was very professional and on time. They really made my plowing experience seamless. Thank you!!!

After a less than satisfactory experience with another landscape maintenance company, I switched to Merrill a few years ago and never looked back. I am using Merrill for all my landscaping needs, from regular upkeep and weed control to spring and fall clean-ups and leaf removal, and I have never been disappointed. A couple of years ago when a storm blew through my neighborhood and caused a mess in my backyard and tree services were impossible to get hold of, it was Merrill that came through promptly and did an amazing job cleaning up everything as best they could. Last year, I added snow removal to my services and I am glad I did. When a recent snow storm dumped 12 inches of snow in our area, Merrill again came through, getting my driveway cleared up as promptly as one could reasonably expect given the conditions. Their pricing is fair, they are easy to get hold of by email or phone, and they have a convenient online platform to keep track of payments and services. All in all, I have been very happy with their services, and I highly recommend them.

I paid over 2,000 for grass starting mulch, new shrubs, and a couple of cherry trees. The trees were planted in the wrong spot (not where we discussed), the shrubs planted were not the color we discussed, and grass seeding with grass starting mulch consisted of them throwing some cheap grass seed down on dry soil and leaving. There was no mulch, they didn t rake the soil so it would take, and despite daily watering the grass never grew. Waste of money.

Update - I have concerns with Merrill s billing accuracy and plans. I have cancelled service as I was charged for services not provided. It s unfortunate as the team is super nice, but their administrative team is a red flag. Been using Merrill for years now and they do a great job. The team is always very friendly and outgoing which we really like.

The landscaping that was done was not terribly done however they did nothing about the damage they did to my back deck. Then today someone came to my house did nothing but was charged for a full mow even though the company admitted they didnt mow. They say the price is included in everything. When I asked if they still charged full price they said there was no one to talk to about it that would help me. Just really over priced for shoddy/lack of work. Do not recommend at all.

Merrill did an excellent job with our landscape project. John and his crew were attentive and made sure we were happy before moving on. I would recommend this team for any landscape and yard projects. Excellent communication, design, and attention to detail.

Exceptional is the term I would use to describe our experiences with Merrill Landscape Services. I have been impressed with the quality of their work and the breadth of their services. The most important factor to me is that their workers listen to and understand the big picture of what we want to accomplish for our home.

We interviewed eight different companies and made the best choice with Merrill Landscape Services to take care of our home rental properties. They had been in need of care for a few years. Dan and his team are very professional, have the knowledge and experience in all matters of lawn care. We are half-way through this project and we are very impressed with their service. We are very pleased with the work the Merrill team did at our house! The new patio with pergola and fire pit area is amazing. They did a significant amount of landscaping with many plantings and mulching, as well. We have received several compliments on the work they did! From design to completion, Merrill was a joy to work with. They offered several suggestions while incorporating our design ideas. We were in frequent communication with them and they answered all our questions very quickly. They worked quickly on our project even in the heat of 100 degree days. We would not hesitate to use Merrill again for any landscaping needs we might have.

I have used Merrill for going on 3 years now. In the past I have used a number of other services but they just dropped the ball so many times I moved on to the next one. Then 3 years ago I called Merrill. If you noticed I stated in my first sentence going on 3 years now. The service techs are really super and if I need a little extra something they did it without question. When I asked for a senior citizen discount AGAIN they came thru. I really cant think of a situation where they couldnt handle it. My lawn has NEVER looked better from the 2nd season on. It took a full season for them to recoup some damage I had previously. I can honestly recommend them wholeheartedly and without hesitation. No matter what type of lawn service you need they got you covered. You wont regret using Merrill

I called them initially to get control of the over the weeds which is what i told them. They came out and mowed That was it. The next week they came out and i told them face to face i need the weeds gone! Ok thatll be extra service ok fine...week later never got done. Caught them AGAIN working in the yard (just mowers and trimmers;weed wackers) told the AGAIN still no avail. Mind you they have 3 guys on the property.... I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THEIR SERVICES!!

I hired this company for taking care of my yard while i was on a long vacation and specifically told them this. When I returned back I see my backyard with half of the grass dead. To me and to another company i called this is a fertilizer burn which the company did on July 13 although when I setup the service I told them that I was away and do not need summer fertilization. Anyway, I called them and they sent a technician to claim we have grubs on the backyard! I called again and the owner then came and this time they told it is drought! What type of drought is that it did not anything on any of my neighbours lawns who never water their lawns but killed mine. Anyway, I suggest not to trust this company as they do not take responsibility on their as you can see from my story above!

Last summer we decided to try out Merrill Services. We had a troublesome yard with dead patches for a while and decided to do something about it. We had seen the Merrill trucks a few times and decided to give them a try. We signed up for their full fertilization program, and a year later our lawn is still looking great! We also signed up for mowing, and I ve got to say...those crews can stripe!

This company did the landscaping outside my apartment not to long ago huge improvement. There now is these cool little seating areas outside the building to grill and hangout. Very modern looking!

Merrill landscape services has always been extremely professional to work with. Their services are always performed timely and by professionals who know what they are doing. They have always been extremely responsive and quick when I ve needed something in a rush.

We had them come out and lay new mulch in the spring. They did a fantastic job. They cleaned up the beds before they laid the mulch. When they mulched around our trees, they better defined the line around the tree, the removed weeds from the circle, then sprayed weed killer and then laid the mulch. The two guys that came out were very professional and worked quickly.

I am so pleased to find a service that separates itself from the rest, both local landscape companies; as well as the national brands. I ve tried them all, and have finally settled on Merrill as the company with the right balance of service excellence, sales, and customer service excellence. What does that mean? They do what they say and say what they do - the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. Meaning, the office and the field techs are aligned and understand what s being done. As well as, you won t find a new person every time you receive a service. I like the experience of having the same person know my yard and me. Weve used Merrill for years for lawn mowing and trimming, sprinkler system winterizing and summer-prep, and leaf removal. Theyre always prompt, courteous, and affordable.

They do a good job, I like that I can select the services I want and they don t deluge me with calls and emails pressuring me to do more.

I hired Merrill to redesign and replace the previous landscaping in front of my home, and they failed to meet my expectations for the job. I told the designer (John) who came out that I wanted a fabric weed barrier installed to prevent the extremely overgrown previous plants from coming back, and he agreed. However, later on he removed that from the job without telling me. Even worse, they did not even remove the previous plants, only trimmed them down and covered them with mulch, so within a week they were already coming back up! After numerous calls and emails to Merrill, a different person (Eric) finally came out, and he agreed with me that the job wasnt done properly and looked terrible, but all he did to correct the problem was spray some roundup on the weeds. I have since spent many hours trying to dig up the old plants, to actually finish the job I paid Merrill to do. I also wanted to have someone come out and give me some advice and estimates for replanting my lawn, but when I called Merrill they told me We dont send people out for that and sent a generic quote for their aeration service instead. Overall, in addition to doing a shoddy job, theyve been very impersonal and dismissive to work with. Also, there are some five-star reviews here that are from employees of the company.

Merrill is my go to for snow removal! These guys are fantastic and on top of it and my business parking lot is never dangerous to my customers because of these guys. I highly recommend if you can get on their list, do it.

We hired Merrill for lawn mowing services while our riding mower was being repaired. They did a great job and I would still be using them if we didnt have our riding mower back and working.

Merrill did snow removal at my home. They were always there early so that I could get to work on time. The edges of the driveway were marked so they would not go over the grass and ornamental stones.

Company aerated and over-seeded lawn. Unfortunately, the job was done while I was out of town. I did not get to water for a week after it was seeded. I did not get the results that I had hoped. Not Merrills fault, just unfortunate timing.

They did a great job mowing and trimming all along our long fence line. They are patient as well. They had to wait once when irrigation showed up at the same time and all sprinklers were set off.

Did a great job ......eventually. Had to have them back numerous times to correct misplantings, tree care and downspout installation sites.

We hired them to aerate and overseed. We had no idea when they were coming, and when they did, they apparently couldnt get to the back yard because of a parked car. My wife was in a work meeting and asked if she could have 15 minutes to move it. They agreed and then left before that. They never showed back up but sent a bill for the full amount. I called and was told they would get someone out there immediately to do the rest. They never came. We then received a late notice on the bill. When I complained, I was given a roughly 11% discount (and our backyard is bigger than the front), then they upped it to a little over 20%. So much for agreements, I guess. And incidentally, the backyard is what I wanted done, so I threw a hundred bucks away on nothing. This is also after we hired them last year to mulch and preen our front flower beds, and they instead preened my entire yard (when I was trying to grow grass).

I have always been very pleased with Merrill landscaping which I have used for business purposes and my personal home for the past few years . The staff is always professional and strive to go the extra mile.

These guys did a great job on a retaining wall in our front yard. Cleaned it all up and it was exactly as they told us it would be. May call them back for more!

They do a good job once they eventually come out but setting up services with them is time-consuming. Weve used them for almost 3 years and had to quit recently because we were tired of the miscommunication and the several attempts needed to book a service. It should not take numerous follow-up phone calls to book something as simple as, say weed-wacking, but weve always needed to follow-up with them over a period of a couple of weeks to get a confirmation that we were going to get service. They need a more efficient and consistent booking system.
