We used this service for a while and I've never been happy with the results but stuck with it hoping it would improve which it didn't. My sod is only 2 years old and now it’s dead. No one on my block has these issues and they aren't customers. My neighbor warned me to cancel and I didn't. Please don't blame the weather either. Waste of money.
We have been using Lawn Doctor since last September 2023. They were extremely nice and helpful when we initially called to setup the initial appointment and service. Since then, we have paid over $800, and still have plenty of weeds and brown/bare spots throughout our small yard. We have watered the lawn according to their specs, followed their instructions/suggestions for maintenance and care, called to attempt to have them spot solve issues (no one came out in between services as requested), and when we finally called to cancel the service their only concern was getting paid for the last service (without actually trying to resolve the existing issue). Their response was “oh well, I’m sorry to hear that. Should we just charge out your last bill to the credit card” rather than my hope of “let me send someone out the to reassess the problems to see if we can try to fix these outstanding issues”. These guys are worried about how long they can string you along on their overpriced service and mediocre practices. Do yourself a favor and find another service that might be more reliable that these unprofessional amateurs.
We have been using Lawn Doctor for a couple of years and the service and quality was OK (a bit of blame game between, watering and it's our landscapers fault but they would eventually come back out). However, this year our lawn has exploded with clover and other weeds. We have tried to get them to come back out to rectify the situation to no avail. They've stopped returning phone calls and we've switched services. Would not recommend.
This review is strictly based on my interactions with lawn doctor, as I did not end up hiring them. Called in as a new customer after being referred by my neighbor and receiving many ads in the mail and email. First spoke with Veronica who was quick to send me quotes for the “maintenance program” without adequately explaining what the program is or what service would be performed. Basic information that any new customer would want to know. Next I asked what chemicals would be used to which she also had no answer (she did not seem to even understand the difference between a pre and post emergent herbicide). Passed the phone to Scott who seemed only slightly more knowledgeable and promised to email me with which chemicals would be used on my lawn. After several days, no email, I call back to follow up. Veronica again reassured me that Scott will be getting back to me, never to hear from any of them again. I have 2 small children and at the very least want to be informed about what i’d be paying for them to put on my lawn. As a prospective new customer I can only imagine id be getting the same lack of response should anything come up. I would expect any business would have the sense to at least follow up with an answer, but it seems they don’t need any new customers since they can’t be bothered to respond. I’ll be looking to hire someone locally instead.
Service has went downhill since new owner. I has issue(they blamed landscaper and irrigation issue)had to call another company in who resolved in two treatments. Would spend time and get some references drive by them. You will see. Customer service also a joke. They love the blame game! ( I was a customer for over 14 years) Mosquito control asked for it to retreated since we had what seemed to be a lot of flying insects. They refused …. I got free followups through previous owner if needed (only used one other time before a graduation party) old owners gladly came and retreated free of charge. There are plenty of other companies look elsewhere ask questions. Get references. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH LAWN DR.
Their service is horrendous. I signed up for the basic lawn care service but they couldn't commit to the simple weed and fertilization service. They missed appointments (without a notification). They have lied on multiple occasions about servicing my property. Since i signed up for their service, my grass is now filled with all types of weeds. I found a better and a more reliable company that is currently reviving my lawn. I will not return to this company again.
I have used Lawn Doctor for about 6 years. The workers at Lawn Doctor have always been courteous and responsive to any concerns that I might have had. Their plan for my lawn has been excellent. My lawn looks great, and I don't need to do any work except for mowing.
I have never written a review for any business before, but felt compelled to in this case. I could not be more satisfied with the service that Lawn Doctor provides. In the year since we have been a customer, our lawn has gone through such a dramatic change for the better. Whenever I call, the staff is beyond friendly. They make the whole process smooth. I recently called because I noticed that we were starting to get some weeds/clovers popping up in certain spots. They immediately arranged to come out and address the issues before our next service date. Phenomenal and friendly service with incredible results. Can not recommend highly enough.

Ive been a customer of Lawn Doctor for many years. They have always been reliable. They call ahead to let me know a service will be performed and a note is left with instructions... eg....how much to water or not to water depending on the treatment. My lawn looks great thanks to Lawn Doctor.

I try to do everything around the house myself. That includes grass cutting, lawn cleanup, plumbing, painting, auto repairs, etc. The one thing I can never get right is lawn applications. I can never remember when to put down fertilizer, and by the time I get the fertilizer, it is too late. I don;t pay a lot for services around my home, but Lawn Doctor is worth it! I always have a green lawn without weeds. The service technicians are willing to talk with me about problems and make good recommendations. Having Lawn Doctor will cost a lot less than replacing your lawn.

We moved our lawn service to Lawn Doctor in Spring 2019. They took a lawn that was sparse and weedy and made significant improvement. I now get compliments from my neighbors about how good the lawn looks. It will take another season to fully restore our lawn but I have confidence in the care it is getting from the Lawn Doctor professionals.

I have been suffering from small multiple holes destroying grass in my lawn. I don t know what is causing this but it is gradually destroying my lawn despite applications from lawn doctor every 6 wks. Lawn Doctor is a great company. My lawn looks amazing. I have used other bigger companies, but you do not get the same service. When you call someone answers the phone and immediately helps you! They are helpful, attentive, and most of all friendly.

Each visit they only service the front area of the lawn, never my yard which is half the property. I finally told them I am withholding a portion of the payment until the job is complete, instead of addressing my concern they filed a court claim. I had used them for multiple seasons. I would go elsewhere, there are plenty of comparable lawn care companies doing the same task but could treat you better. ***MARCH 2019 UPDATE to their reply below; they never responded to my call and simply went ahead with a court date for the partial payment I withheld and had a judgement filed knowing the amount was too small to take the day off to contest. They could not have done the back since it is locked (I have a 180 lb. English Mastiff). They simply need to ring the bell like the landscape guy does every visit. You have choices, I would look elsewhere instead of giving Lawn Doctor you business...caveat emptor my friends.

My husband and I have been clients for a very long time. The last 3 years have been terrible with them. The lawn always has a disease and they have to be called back. Their customer service is rude and they just don t care. The power seeding last year did not help. So, next year will be using someone else!
The last time the tech came to fertilize my lawn he walked all over new grass I had planted made a mess. For the past few years we have used Lawn Doctor of Wayne with good results. This last visit showed they have little rearguard for their customers.

My lawn was actually looking better and less weeds when I was doing the work myself. Unfortunately I don t have the time so I decided to try the doctor, WORST MISTAKE EVER. A couple of services in I noticed the weeds running rampant, never happened when I was doing it myself. Called to speak with Todd Winter the sales manager in this area, a lady answered the phone and started on her sales pitch you have to give it time you have bare spots that will take time to fill in, you need to do this service and that service. I said mam I am aware of this and I understand but that s not why I m calling, I was calling to let you know that weeds are over running my lawn. She started her pitch again, I said you are rude you re not even addressing my concerns she said I was being rude and hung up on me. I went online and filled a request for my services to be cancelled immediately. Next day no call, I decide to call Todd, he answers and says I m just canceling your services now as per your request. This company can care less about your concerns or your property all they want is your money. I will never recommend such services.
Just got off the phone after a conversation with Lawn Doctor office lady threatening me. I had their service last year and canceled that at the end of the year. My experience with this company was terrible. Last year we had all kind of weeds and mushrooms more than any previous years. I complained a couple of times, and still, it didn t change anything. Our Lawn never looked that bad in any of the previous years. Two days ago I noticed the little flags of Lawn Doctor on my lawn and received an email asking me to pay. When I called to ask about this, the customer care lady behaved very mean and threatened me that she would report to the collection agency. I think I have to report to BBB and Federal Trade Commission. Stay away from these people.

Awefull service and customer service. Do not recommend at all. They ruined my lawn with their chemicals and refused to acknowledge or correct.
We ordered lawn core aeration, they did bits and pieces and left large areas untouched. After we complained we were told that everything was done perfectly. Stay away from them.

This company is the only one who has been able to get my lawn looking great. I have big trees in my backyard and my grass just wouldnt grow. Wonderful service!.. We started services about a year ago first to fix the damaged lawn then to make it stronger (knew the process was going to take a while since the lawn was very bad).. and behold this year once the snow melted I see green grass! Good work guys keep it up.
