First of all, I will say that they did a beautiful job with my property and the workers were polite and friendly. However, it should look amazing because other than the grass cutting charges, which are easily compared with other landscapers, their prices are exorbitant! Since moving on to another landscaper, I have found out that we were being charged at least double for the same services by The Growing Company. Often it was hard to tell the actual charges because they would be given in a lump sum and not itemized. The work hours were definitely inflated on every bill which we found out by asking other companies what they would charge and the time spent for the same work. Incidentally, the reasons we let them go were 1) the vague billing and suspected overpricing 2) we had hired them to take a tree down over the winter and they just didn't do it and didn't explain why or apologize for the error (the tree was over our pool so we really wanted to get it out before the next pool opening, and when we weren't living here, and it was a very mild snowless winter so there was no reason to not get it done 3) never apologizing or immediately making things right when they would make an error, like severing our invisible fence system several times 4) despite being a "Premiere company" they never could quite get our sprinkler system working correctly, we had them out many times and we never fully had it fixed. It is fixed now, with the new company and 5) they cut branches in the trees when pruning and then leave them stuck in the trees where they turn brown and unsightly instead of pulling them out and taking them to the dump. Finally, the owner would never put anything in writing, if I emailed or texted, he would call me which I realized now is so that he would never to be on the record. He cares more about bragging about the super rich peoples' property he services than listening to what you want or caring if you're happy. So, if you have endless amounts of money and endless amounts of time to chase down the owner to get things done, by all means hire them!
