This is a long review, so grab some coffee, tea, or whatever, relax and have a good read! We were in desperate need of a patio upgrade to mitigate our sunken pavers and sloping stairs which were a safety hazard. I called and interviewed at least 5 or 6 companies for concrete and pavers to get a quote. I am an interior designer, but not an exterior designer or landscape expert. I dabble in gardening/ landscape but I am truly a novice. I had a vision of what I wanted and had sketches and a few CAD designs that I shared with each contractor along with my budget. After interviewing several landscaping companies, some never called back or ended up ghosting me. When Scott came out, he sat with me and educated me about the process, what’s involved, and products they had to offer and the difference between concrete and paver stones. Thus I learned that, my budget didn’t match my vision. Scott explained that while I had a healthy budget to work with, it wasn’t enough to do what I was looking to have done. So instead of ghosting me, he came back with a catalog and offered an alternative plan that was within my budget. Scott had me choose the colors, but he designed the patio and made suggestions that would complement my choices. Long story short, I couldn’t really visualize what the final patio was going to look like until the day it was installed. We literally were in AWE!!! You know that reveal moment on HGTV, well, that’s how we felt! This patio is absolutely STUNNING!!!! It’s beyond my wildest dreams!!! All of our neighbors have been strolling by (there’s a walking path right behind our yard) because word spread throughout our small community about our new patio! As I am writing this, a neighbor was just taking photos of our patio! One couple has already said they are reaching out to Scott to have their landscaping done in the spring. I am absolutely thrilled and so pleased with the entire process. Scott is patient, knowledgeable, accommodating, supportive, communicative, creative, efficient, and a true professional! We had some delays with starting due to our having several other major projects going on at the same time, but Scott rolled right along and when his crew started, it was three days for full installation; a total of 4 days because they came a month early to remove the old patio so that the other projects could take place. Scott’s crew was prompt, professional, efficient and awesome to work with! The cleanup was amazing and thorough too. We watched them like a movie because of their skill and knowledge and how well they did the installation was so fascinating and impressive! The Garrett group is truly professional and a first class company! Scott is a great designer and salesman! I truly appreciate him for taking the time to educate and provide us with a beautiful alternative that fit within our budget. I highly recommend Garrett Landscape Group! Thank you Scott, Juan, Mike and crew for an absolutely FABULOUS experience and patio! Garrett did a great job! We love their landscape design and work ethics. They care about their customers. Everyone with whom we dealt are great, from the office, sales and the gentlemen who actually did the landscaping. No price gouging! The workers did a beautiful job. We had a large tree removed, a smaller tree and a huge weed that we thought was a tree! It was not an easy task either as there were stubborn roots that were affecting the stonework in the front garden bed. The workers had to remove the roots of the scrub tree and rearrange all the stones. Not an easy task! We highly recommend Garrett!

A decade ago we had Garrett Landscape install a paver patio in our old house and were glad we did. When we moved and wanted to tackle a major hardscape/landscaping project in our new house, Garrett Landscape was our natural choice. Scott gave us some great advice and made some suggestions to our original ideas that really upgraded the project. He then drafted a detailed sketch and estimate. The suggestions he made added to the overall cost, but he was not pushy about it in the slightest and was willing to work with us on the specific elements to get the cost to where we were comfortable. In the end, we only made a few minor modifications since we were so impressed by his vision. The project (a paver driveway extension, two curved paver walkways, a retaining wall planting bed, and some perennial beds) took a week to complete, and the crew was amazing. They worked their butts off in the summer heat and went above and beyond to make sure everything looked great. They even fixed some broken sprinkler lines and heads that were damaged by our fence installation (done by a different contractor). The project turned out great! In fact, in the weeks that followed many of our neighbors stopped by to ask us who did the great job on our landscaping. We already have some ideas for future projects, and we will definitely be contacting Scott!

Garrett is applying mulch right now for our neighborhood HOA. They are doing an excellent job defining the edges and taking away old mulch so as to not have too thick a layer around the trees.

Garrett Landscape exceeded our expectations. Scott listened to what we were looking for and then gave us an awesome design and ideas to re-landscape our yard. They came in and in four days, took out our old landscaping and put in an amazing garden and front yard patio. We will hired Garrett Landscaping again and will recommend them to everyone who's looking to get some landscape work done.

Written from a customer who has worked with Garrett Landscape Group for a few years on various projects. I really wanted to give this business a phenomenal review, but after taking time to reflect on my experience, I unfortunately cannot. My 3 star explanation follows: 1st Star - the owner Scott Garrett comes out to give you an estimate. He is personable and does a thorough job. The estimate is also itemized, so you can see exactly what you are being charged for. This felt much more honest than having an arbitrary number handed to you. 2nd Star - we have spent above 35K on landscaping with Garrett over the last few years and most of the work has been stellar. In July 2019 we had a major project done to our driveway where it was extended approximately 5.5 feet on both sides with brick pavers. We have a large driveway and the job turned out fantastic. They also offer a lifetime warranty on the brick work for as long as we own our home. They stand by their brick work and that says a lot. 3rd Star - the crews sent were great. They were professional, worked diligently from 8 am - 5 pm, cleaned up every day, and did a wonderful job. No loud music, no littering, no sloppiness etc. Very respectful and hard working. Why I removed 2 Stars: 1st Star Removed - the large driveway project literally started an entire year after it was supposed to. It went from starting in July 2018 to being pushed back until July 2019. Garrett initially ordered different brick pavers from a company other than the one my husband and I signed off on. It was not an issue to get the original / correct pavers, but it pushed the job back. Other factors- not on our part, also kept pushing the job. We were patient and understanding, however it was an inconvenience (trips postponed, multiple parties scheduled around when the job was supposed to be completed but hadn't even begun, etc). 2nd Star Removed - the large driveway project took longer than what they estimated and as a result a smaller job that was part of the bill was completed in a sub par manner. We were supposed to have a "decorative boulder wall" created near one corner of our house, and what we received was not my idea of a boulder wall. We received approximately 10 rocks, sized 12” tall X 12-15" wide, set down around an already cleaned, existing bed, with mulch tossed on top. We were charged $1495 for something that truthfully, I could have done myself in an hours time (I already had the bed weeded, cleaned and prepped). I feel that since the main driveway project went over the time they estimated it would take, the "decorative boulder wall" was disregarded and we were shortchanged on it. It was such an upsetting way to end the working relationship I thought I had cultivated with Garrett. In the end, I feel that being patient and understanding didn't fare well and that being firm and more assertive would have yielded better results.

Garret Landscape Group does a wonderful job in creating a beautiful landscape environment. I've had the pleasure of meeting many employees and they all are very professional. Their location in Ypsilanti is extremely easy to find and they seem to always to want what is best for their peers. I would highly recommend Garret Landscape Group for a quality project that is guaranteed for life.

Just finished our project with Garrett landscaping. What a good experience! Joe and the guys were very professional and did a super job. We are very satisfied and feel that this was money well spent. Our yard looks terrific and the back patio and fire pit could be featured in a magazine. Sue and Dave
