Tru Green is a great lawn service, and will follow-up if needed.

My first year with Tru Green was very positive. The staff was responsive and the yard flourished. This year however has been another story. The yard had striping due to poor application of fertilizer. Areas were burned out. A Tru Green representative who saw it, agreed that it needed to be corrected. He promised a response in 24 hours. Here I am four weeks later and no response, even with my making multiple calls. I simply asked for the courtesy of a response. Sadly, nothing. I will move on next season with another company that can show greater respect. Barry Keurulainen

I called in several times, to resolve an issue. I had to go all the way up to get a supervisor to come out, and take a look at my yard. To see, that I was not just complaining. He immediately responded, and came out and treated the areas. At this time I feel were on the right track I just hope I dont have to continue to call in and address the same issue.

Jalen is the best service tech they have. If it was not for him, I would not use True Green.

This was not a good experience. They only did my left and front yard and didn t even do the whole left side. I pay for fertilizer apps and I m only getting herbicide apps. Lawn weed apps didn t work either. I had to get my own 2-4d sprayer to fix it. This is a poor service. To top it off I paid for 4 services and only get 3 half services. Save yourself the heartbreak. This is embarrassing

Spring of 2024 successively grew dandelions now summer of 2024 I successfully grow clover and crab grass. Not sure what s going on with the Youngstown Ohio true Green office. I would look into other options as I am now. This said I have a full contract for 2024 season of lawn care with TruGreen

TruGreen has given my lawn the attention it needs. I dont have to decide when to apply, is it too early, late, too wet or cold or hot? They take the decision making out of the equation. Worth the cost when you consider you have to drive to the store to pick up these applications as well as apply them. Their knowledge of grasses, weeds, and what steps to take to keep your property looking good is an added plus.

I use TruGreen for flea and tick control. It has been a great service. My cats have not needed a flea treatment in more than the 3 years I have used them.

RUN - dont ask TruGreen for a quote, dont give them your cell number or email because TruGreen is like COCKROACHES.. youll never get rid of them pestering you, calling you on the cell phone, emailing you, constantly trying to sell their inferior product, no matter how many times you ask to be put on their do not call list.

Have been a customer off and on for years. Add to fire them a couple times. Figure put my trust back in to them. You definitely have to watch the applicators to make sure they get the whole yard and do a proper job took the day off because they said theyll be out here monday, luckily I called and they said Wednesday. Unreliable. And the reason why they had to come out was the do the second application. Because I have more dandelions now than when they first come out. Be aware. There are other companies out there. They must not think that there are. Its a shame that you got to take the day off to watch the people who are supposed to do the lawn properly. Cuz Ive had experiences to where they only did quarter of the yard and left

I called no response to come out and estimate lawn treatment never used them. Second time I called got a good customer service guy. Decided not to use them.

This company hounded me for 2weeks to get my business. I finally accepted and they was supposed to be out today at 11,11:30am AND NO ONE CAME OUT OR CALLED. Ill be taking my money and business elsewhere. NICE WAY TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS .

Original Review...Theyy did not spray within 5 feet of my road so I have a huge patch of dandelions. Did not kill many weeds on sprayed area and lawn does not seem to be fertilized. Very unhappy with service. Called 800 number after 3 weeks and was told it was too early to expect results...call back next week. Why dont they send someone to inspect the job? My Ring Doorbell camera showed they were only at my house spraying for 15 min. Dont recommend TruGreen.

I have been using them for a couple of years. I did not have any mosquito or tick problems the years they came out. The employee Vince was professional and through. If you want to enjoy your yard without the mosquitoes True Green are the people to get.

My Lawn care specialist Jarrell T did an Excellent job. He was very attentive to service being applied. Took his time and gave helpful hints upon completion.

I just wanted to give a big thumbs up for the excellent above and beyond service that I received from Raymond Nagle (Tree & Shrub Service). One of my large holly bushes appeared to be dying with leaves turning brown. Raymond came to my house and gave me his opinion. In addition, Raymond called the man that trained him about seven years ago. That man said for us to scratch a branch that looked dead. I did scratch a branch, and it was GREEN underneath. We were told that the holly bush was still alive, and it may come back in time. I will continue to water and let TruGreen do their treatments. All in all with explaining the problem, and getting information on the cell phone call with Raymonds friend, we spent about an hour on the problem and solution. Thank you

DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE. So I returned a sales call to speak with Al. Having previously spoken with Al, we had developed a professional rapport and he was helpful with regards to my questions and concerns. The call center representative that I wound up speaking to was nothing but problematic and deflective. I asked her if I could speak with a supervisor to which she responded she didnt have one. I asked then if she simply answered to no one and was not part of a larger system and wondered where her paychecks came from---she said that they materialized out of the air (I think from heaven if Im not mistaken). I asked to speak to customer service---she transferred me to an interminable hold status---of course there was no one from customer service that was going to respond. If this is how they treat prospective customers, imagine how much worse they treat you when you are locked into some contract with them and cant get your money back. Absolutely terrible customer service interaction.

I didn t get to speak to the man that sprayed my lawn but my son did and said he was very professional and explained what he was going to do.

I was a customer for many years up until this year. My yard was burned and destroyed by whatever chemicals were put on the lawn. There are more weeds now than grass. Had shrubs sprayed a year ago and my burning bush is dying. Totally disgraceful business who does not ensure quality work. Totally polluted with every type of weed imaginable. No satisfaction at all received from this company. The whole yard needs torn up and reseeded. The young employees spraying the yard don t know a blade of grass from a dandelion.

Theres still a ways to go to become a strong lawn, but since my applications have started theres noticeable improvement.

Can t say I recommend Trugreen unless you want to be hounded with sales calls. I saw a few Trugreen trucks in my neighborhood over the last few years so I thought I d give them a try for my new and struggling yard. Setting everything up online was definitely a plus, I ll grant that for sure. After the first treatment was when the sales calls and texts started. We did not choose the pest control treatment as we have had a long standing relationship with an excellent pest control service and saw no need to switch. That was the ONLY service we had chosen not to sign up for. Didn t matter, each successive sales call is the same LIE. we ve noticed increased aphid, mosquito and spider mite presence on your trees and bushes ..blah blah blah. Oh really?! Your tech who spends all of 10 minutes on my lawn can see spider mites?! I spend every day outside and have not seen one single spider mite or aphid. Plus, we DONT HAVE ANY TREES! I tried to politely explain the already established pest control service to the first sales person (who agreed to note that in our file) but all they do is shove you off to another one who recites the same dumb sales pitch. All that being said, I can deal with pushy sales people, as long as the main service is good. Unfortunately, 8 or 9 treatments have done little to help my yard. Not even a week after each treatment, my yard has been infested with clover and dandelions all spring and summer long. We will not be using Trugreen again.

I like the onsite service, but the technical end is sketchy. Ive called in a number of times for technical support issues, but they never get resolved. I signed up for text messages for service and except for the first service its never happened again.I dont understand why this cant be fixed; I know it can. Someone is not passing on my concerns or technical department is out to lunch.

I got a consultation from the company and was recommended Aeration/Seeding treatment as well as the regular TruHealth Lawn Plan. The guy were very nice and explained everything in detail. All three treatments were done on time. However, the results are disappointing. The aeration/seeding didn`t work and I have not seen any change. I had two lawn care service as well, but that didn`t help either. There are still a lot of brown areas and weeds. The promise was to do the service again if it doesn`t work, but I have hard time reaching to the company as they didn`t respond. Wouldnt recommend.

They arrive on time, and perform the job description as paid for but I noticed on my surveillance camera that the lawn between the sidewalk and the curb of the street wasn t treated. Which is why I only rated their job 4 out of 5 stars.

Ive been waiting 6 days for a manager or supervisor to return my many calls. 1st service entire yard not serviced so a free re-do was Friday. Not sure whose yard was done but no sign in yard, no paper on door and motion cameras did not go off. Now a third re-do is set for 4/13. Want help asap!!! Tired of calling, leaving messages with no response. Not professional and I paid for the year in advance. My error for sure. Want to get this resolved now!

I have 2 service addresses that TruGreen comes to, Im 100% satisfied with the work that they have done and year to come. They are very reasonable priced for what they can/do. I would recommend them all day long. Thanks again TruGreen for making my yards colorful and mosquitoe free!

Worst ever i true green do my front yard 3 months ago and at the same time I used Scotts on my back yard while time using true green no weeds went away still had dandelions called and complained no call back just an email saying they are sorry I cancelled my back yard looks great with Scotts never again TRUGREEN

Would not show up but charge you for service

Work went fine, but customer service is HORRIBLE? I would never do business with them again, if I had known the problems I would have. Corporate office is lost and dont seem to have a clue!

Every time you called a number to try to talk to a manager you talk to someone in India who would not give you a name or number to talk to they said someone would call back in 24 to 48 hours and it never happened. My problem is I got billed for a job but they did not put out any flags in the yard or any paperwork on the door so how do I know that they did the work ? I have pets and kids in the yard all the time and this has happened before but to complain you have to talk to india, I will never uses them again

Just ordered service. The tech showed up and only did our front yard. Totally skipped the backyard and side patch along the driveway...... with cameras in todays day and age, youd think theyd know they cant get away with this stuff! Calling when they open.... Not paying full price for half a job.

Tru Green has ruined our yard. We couldn t figure out why we were getting bald spots and then patches of weeds that looked like uneven grass would grow and then these weeds would grow twice as fast. It looked awful. We had been paying TruGreen to take care of our yard and couldn t figure out what was going on. Until while my mom and I were getting my kids on the bus, TruGreen pulled up. This guy came out, sprayed a few weeds growing in the driveway and 1/4 of the flowerbed then left. Two days later, charged 70$. My husband complained and they said they d do a repeat. They came out and sprayed again. Charged us 66$. Husband called to complain again and only offered 20% refund! Repeat service was never done (the last spray was routine). We eventually were told we would a full refund (customer service left a lot to be desired) and they said a supervisor would call in two hours. Never heard back from them. Our refund is expected to be returned in 7-10 days. We will be cancelling their service. There s no way our grass was treated properly. We re typically at work when they would come so we never know what they do but seeing the last guy, we believe they didn t do the entire job they were hired for and now we re left with an embarrassing yard. Do not recommend. You can do a better job on your own. You hire them to make your yard better. Not look worse.

Terrible customer service. Very rude and pushy. Prices were higher than other places as well.

One year of service I accepted all of there reccomendations hundreds of dollars and my lawn is worse than before they started. I started with crabgrass and I still have crabgrass, They aeriated and seeded in the fall and now I have lost grass in many large areas , grass is gone and dirt is what is left.Not one blade of new grass and a surprise ,patches of a green mold looking cover on some of the bare spots...

They are very hard to get ahold of to talk to someone, and they do not do the service they sale you,and do not give them your credit card number they used it without my permission for the next season as they raised the bill to. We email to but no response, I called more times than I can count ,

I canceled once before for bad service. Was told to give them another chance ....tried again had a issue tried to call never able to get thru worst customer service ever ill find a local person who cares about customers. Be warned you will have to wait days to talk with someone. Unable to email them get a chat box pop up still cant talk or chat with anyone

Repeatedly over spray my neighbors lawn and kill my plants.

This service is not worth the money. Their employees are very lazy and unprofessional (one even jumped over my fence). I have had to call them after every application. It s not worth the hassle. No wonder their wait times are lengthy to complain. Save yourself the trouble.

What can I say except they did exactly as expected, I hate weeds in lawn and now my lawn is lush and healthy after a full 2 seasons of treatment. Reasonable price to. Only photo I have of the lawn but you can see how green and healthy it looks.

Very disappointed. Called and scheduled, paid for a plan. Stated they would be out within 5-7 days, and we arent even on the schedule for service on week 3 already!!! When I called I was basically told that there was nothing they could do.

Simply the worst. Paid $900 a year for this service. Still had weeds. Still had bugs. Called but they never sent anyone out to reapply. Billed me for visits they didnt make.

Our yard looks terrible. Crabgrass, sedge, violets - hard to believe we even have a lawn service! Usually they blame it on dry conditions, but that has not been the case this year. I am really considering getting a smaller company in town. They fly in and out - no real concern. They HAVE to see how bad the yard looks (4 acres). What a waste of money. This is a followup to my review. Even though the owner said to email him - I did, but the only communication from him was to send us a survey. That was the last straw for us. (Looks responsive on Google reviews, but is just for show). We called the service to cancel and the guy responsible for our service ARGUED WITH US ABOUT THE RESULTS OF THEIR SERVICE! Oh, my! What happened to pleasing the customer!! I have been hand weeding our yard for the last two weeks. The crabgrass and sedge are rampant, despite their claim to have treated it (would they consider taking a look?). Done and Done. We hired the local person so that is a good thing, too!!

Terrible service, crabgrass everywhere that I didn t have last year fertilizing myself, big burn out spots even with watering, you would think a company that claims to know what they are doing would be able to do better than a trip to Home Depot. Lawn never had a sign of turning the corner, just got worse and worse. I would never recommend this company.

Not the company they used to be. We have used them for several years and this year was the worst our yard has ever looked. We have tons of dandelions, clover and vine. I complained about this in July they came to do an evaluation and the problem was never fixed. I take care of our yard and do what they recommend. Today when I called and asked if they could come take care of it I was told there would be a charge and they would try to give me the same rate as my package. No thanks TruGreen, your customer service is horrible. I canceled my service today, they will not be back.

They bill you for additional services, you did not order. They auto-renew and bill you even after you cancel their services. (Customer service even admitted that there was a note in their system not to renew but tried to tell me that I still had to pay for the application because I didn t return their calls after I had cancelled)

My yard is a mess after they did my yard last year. I had grubs , and they did not solve my problem.i have to buy sod and replace the spots that the grubs destroyed, and there are a lot of spots to fix.they were out a half dozen times, didn t believe me, all I had to do is pull up some of the grass to see the grubs, they wouldn t do that.they have enough gull to keep calling me, after I told them not to.i would never use there service.i have them blocked on my phone, and they still try to call me.i am waiting for Lowe s to get sod, as I expect to spend a couple of hundred dollars to fix my yard

The return service did not eliminate the wild violets. It did leave a brown burn the edges of the violet. They will not go away.

Terrible, blames issues on everything but themselves. Hit and miss on applications.

My yard has turned full circle since having TrueGreen fertilize it. Zero weeds! It s now thick dark green and the best looking yard on our road.

I havent used their service, nor am I likely to after their idiot driver nearly got me killed by not stopping for a stop sign today.

The only reason I gave them 3 stars was for customer service. We hired them to treat the crabgrass in our yard. I dont know what they used, but the crabgrass is worse this year with them treating for it than it was on its own last year. Will be going with someone else next season. I also saw no difference in our yard after they treated it. A total waste of $250.

No one gave me a date or time my first visit would be so I could be there to talk to a tech. I just so happened to be home, I needed to ask the tech what type of grass I had because we had 2 types and zip wanted to seed the majority type more in some bare areas. Tru greens tech did not know what kind of grass I had? Said hed take a pic and have a manager call me the next day, 4 days later no call despite me calling in 3 times. Also they sprayed the front yard for weeds but not the back? So half serviced lawn but charged me for a full yard....... the tech also tried to talk me out of the free fertilizer that came with the service, why? Because he was in a rush? Lame. Pretty low professionalism and it seems like they just hire anyone w no training and no management responsibilities from local branches to reach back out when you have issues. Warning!

Waste of money and they give you a lot of BS and try to sell you all kinds of extra services. Tim is the worst guy to treat your yard. Honestly I did a better and cheaper job myself. Always excuses for everything. If you called and complain they just want to give you free treatments, when if they did the job right to begin with the so called free treatment would not be necessary. They never give you notice and I have animals that need to stay inside like their sign says after and during the treatments. Dont waste your money give it to a charity instead.

We bought what we thought was one years worth of service last summer. The year would have been up in August. The lawn in the front yard does not look any different than it did when they started. The neighbor does not even live there and their front yard looks better than ours . The only difference is we did not have dandelions this year. The final straw was the fellow that came out this week to do service. He was sitting in his truck in front of the house for at least 5 minutes. I was standing by his window and he glanced up but then looked back down. It was obvious that he was ignoring me so I went back in the house. The fellow eventually got out and placed a spreader on the ground. I was surprised that he only made about two passes in the front and the about 3 passes in the back . He left the report on the front door and left. It was not more than 10 minutes total. I cancelled the payment information from my account and thought we would let them use up the remaining funds to finish up the year and then we would not renew. This morning, I was checking the account on line and noticed that Trugreen withdrew $94.28 from our checking account. I called them and found we did not have a balance and that was for our most recent service. I dont know if they did not remove the payment information and used the info to get the money or if I removed the info after the transaction but it seems shady that they would take that much out without advance notice. Thats some awfully expensive Service! Trugreen seems that they can write their own paycheck. Apparently, when you pay for a years worth of service, it is only a suggestion. They will decide how much your service really costs. I cancelled their service before they can rip me off some more. Thanks for nothing!

Used Trugreen years ago for quite sometime and cancelled when lawn just didnt look good at all. Ended up going with Scotts - yard improved beyond my expectations. Looked absolutely wonderful. Then Scotts was bought out by Trugreen and were back to Trugreen fertilizers. Our yard is back to TERRIBLE. So disgusted. Had retreated for weeds with no results. Technician does not take his time. Goes so fast no wonder hes not hitting the weeds. Quack grass is growing rampant. Our calls complaining have given no results. Ready to start doing lawn ourselves.

The worst lawn that Ive had in 5 years and I cared for the lawn myself.

I was charged $374.30 for a service I did not order. I was told since I ordered it last year, it was automatically scheduled for this year. I did not want it nor does the lawn need it yearly. I was offered half-off at corporate level which I refused. I was then transferred to Youngstown office. I was told I would be called by GM. That was last week. Im still waiting. I was getting weekly calls to up-sell me, but nothing to remove this charge. Be careful. Be very careful.

When I asked a TruGreen specialist several questions about the condition of my lawn and the particular treatment that he was applying he gave what I thought was a knowledgeable assessment of the lawn and what the treatment would do to maintain the health and appearance of the lawn.

The grass is greener! We are so happy with our decision to have TRUGREEN care for our lawn! After only 1 treatment we could see such a difference! While all of our neighbors have brown grass or lawns filled with dandelions, our yard is lush & green! TRUGREEN...it says it all!
