This company always undertake pruning work on trees that are to large for me to handle. I find them reliable, they do exactly what you ask, they check you are happy while on site and clean up well after. They provide good value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend them

Help is always given to those who need it, by Toby H Johnson Ltd I am most greatful for Toby and his team for helping me out so quickly when I was in dire need of help. We had a storm which caused a very tall tree to become unstable and was rocking on its routes in the wind. If it fell down it would casued major damage. I phone Toby late on the Saturday the wekend before Chritsmas as I was concerned that the tree might fall down, as strong winds were predicted for the next day .Toby was able to come around the next morning ( Sunday ) of which the conclusion was that we could try to stablise the tree with some very strong straps, which was then done It worked and the first working day after the Christmas and New year period was over, Toby and his team came and cut the tree down, even though it was a horribel cold snowy day and the garden was like a bog. I was most impressed by how they cut branches off the tree and then used ropes ( a bit like a zip wire) to saftey get the branches to the ground, with out causeing any damage to the greenhouses, sheds and fence that were next to the tree. Toby and his team were very pleasent and helpful, they did an excellent job for which my family and I are most greatful for. I would definatley recommend them to anyone

Great work once again from Toby H Johnsons fencing team. We had a fence replaced by them 2 years ago so when I needed some more fencing they were the obvious choice. The guys worked hard despite the rubbish weather and got the job done in one day. They tidied up and left my garden looking as good as it could. I would recommend them again for any fencing works.
Highly recommend Toby! He removed a conifer tree close to my property, he cut down the tree, ground the stump down and removed all the waste. The area was left like no tree ever existed and the price was extremely competitive. Absolutely brilliant. A 60 year old specimen conifer grown on 5 trunks to 50+ feet high. Tight corner twixt summerhouse, shed and pond. Felled, cleared, stump ground. All this and a 5 feet high deck around the trunks and solid in long metposts, all cleared. Can t recommend Toby and his team enough, absolutely brilliant.

We had Toby and his team in to prune an overgrown magnolia and remove an old apple tree. The magnolia looks good and the apple tree is gone. We appreciated the friendly and courteous team, the speedy, specialist work, and that they cleared away all the mess afterwards. They also managed not to damage the lawn or flowerbeds next to the trees which was an indication of the care they took. I would definitely recommend them.

Shored up our fence which had been battered by the storms. Great that they fixed the existing fence instead of replacing it, and the work was done quickly and to a very high standard without any issues at all.
Just had another job carried out and completed by Toby H Johnson Ltd. Tobys team took out a fir hedge and replaced it with a fence. He attended promptly after first contact and provided a realistic quotation after a good discussion as to what was the best solution. Programme dates for the work were provided but a team of three were able to attend much more quickly to our advantage after a gap appeared in their programme. The work was completed quickly and to a high standard. I wouldnt hesitate to use Toby again and strongly recommend his services to others.

We needed a fence post replacing after the storms and they fitted us in within that week, as it was only a small job. It saved us any further damage to the rest of the fence. The lady that dealt with our call was lovely and the correspondence was good. They came out on the day as promised even though it was snowing constantly while he worked. I recently called on the services of Toby Johnson Ltd to replace some existing decking. Toby has done lots of work for me over time, including pathways and fencing, he is my first port of call should I require any outside garden work doing. From the quote stage to implementation, the whole process is always handled with great customer service and communication. The job was not a simple one, the decking covers our septic tank and required expert attention which Tobys team can be relied upon. The team are a pleasure to have around, working efficiently and with as little disruption as possible. I am always amazed at how clean everything is at the end of the job. I am delighted with the work and can highly recommend Toby for any outside work or maintenance.
They cut down a dangerous tree and split the logs leaving everything tidy and just how you would want, as they always do. Wouldn t use anyone else, top job.
The team from Toby H Johnson did an excellent job in removing and cutting back some trees in our garden. They worked tremendously hard throughout the day, were very courteous in their dealings with our neighbours to gain access to certain trees and were very thorough in tidying away branches etc that came down while removing the trees.

Garden had 2 conifers, 70 feet high near my house, after 2 days the skilled team worked hard and efficiently and the garden and surrounding area left immaculate. I got Toby and his team back to remove an elderly privet and replace with fencing. The team arrived on time, worked efficiently and considerately with regards to other planting and neighbours. Again they left the area clear and removes the waste materials. I cannot praise the team enough they were courteous and pleasant - highly recommend this company.

They arrived when they said they would. They created my vision of a courtyard garden with plenty of planting areas. They worked in some torrential rain and were prepared to do a little extra and plant some large plants I had grown in pots. I would absolutely recommend them.

Our hedges were cut back and a 12 foot conifer removed, all very efficiently - the only drawback was a slight lack of attention to the clearing up. Jane also confirmed the appointment the day before. Toby arrived on time and was courteous, informative and took a real interest in the job. I received a professional quote. Once I confirmed Jane kept communication with me. When the job was booked in, again they confirmed beforehand. Toby and the team turned up on time and finished the job ahead of schedule. The site was left clean and tidy. If you have had to use any tradespeople, you will have experienced issues with admin, professionalism, timekeeping, surley attitudes, and mess. As you can tell, I experienced none of this. I would 100% use this local business again and would recommend to anyone.

Really great job from Toby and his team. Not great conditions on the day but they soldiered on. Our small yard looks transformed with a lovely raised bed of sleepers and trellis. Very pleased. My thanks also to Jane for keeping me appraised of time frames - very communicative. Following a move to a new property (since our first review in 2021 above) we decided to get Tobys firm in once again to do trellis, fencing and raised bed work for us. Unfortunately, this experience was not great. The raised sleeper beds have developed a significant bow (for which read banana shaped) as several of the sleepers have moved and/or developed gaps, so they no longer line up: this did not happen at our last property. As the liner in one section of the raised beds split whilst being back-filled with top soil we are also concerned that this will undoubtedly compromise the integrity of the bed itself. We were sent a courtesy email asking if we were happy with the work and although we raised the issues then - and since - no-one has come out to take a look to see if the problem can be addressed. I was delighted with the work first time round but feel decidedly let down on this occasion.

I contacted them for work on fencing and garden work. Phoned them three times for the estimate and they said yes o its way. Never got anything. (very bad customer service). They could have just said we dont want to do it or we are too busy but nothing back at all is very rude!!
