I used them for winterizing the sprinklers. Oscar showed up early, that worked just fine for me and did the job very quickly. Will use them again without a doubt.

Erwing was the newest service technician to service my sprinkler system. He performed the close out of the system for the winter. He was courteous, punctual and polite. Erwing is a great addition as a service technician. Garden State Irrigation is a reputable company.

I will try to be fair but truth is this company and the Moron that came to our home set our sprinklers to be on for less than a minute in all 7 zones of our property. It is hard to believe someone can be so Incompetent and poor at his job. It took us awhile to realize why our lawn looked so poor compared to our neighbors. My advice is stay away from this company. When we called to complain they did not take responsibility for the shoddy work. Please choose another company.

I had my sprinklers turned on in May. There are sprinkler heads that are not working and areas of my lawn that are dying because the sprinklers were not properly aligned to cover all areas of my property. I noticed the issue recently and asked for a person to come out and review. In order to book the appointment I would have to pay a $150 service charge. I found this to be a bit unreasonable since Ive been a customer for a few years and I feel the sprinklers were not properly tested when I got them turned on in May.

Technician Ruben Valle came to replace my broken sprinkler. They did a great job! Nice and quick. He also did an inspection around my sprinkler system and discovered leaks in a couple of my sprinkler heads. He walked through and showed each of the leaks to me, and I agree to have them replaced. He did a quick and great job again. It is super nice to have someone who knows what he is doing and fix it right away, no Bs, straightforward and direct.

I called Garden State Irrigation in April of 2023. Joel P. is awesome to deal with. He was pleasant and professional and so was the install team. I had a water issue that came up after the install. I called Joel and even though the water issue had nothing to do with the install he helped me find the issue and fixed it.

I am unable to give a review because I was not present to meet the service tech. I asked the office to have him call me, but did not receive any call. GSI use the internet a lot, tons of automated messages, but the personal contact is missing.

I was with Garden State for 10+ Years. Unfortunately, staff is changed. Service Manager , accounting, schefulers still know their job but regular workers who come to your home absolutely clueless. They can do damage to your irrigation system. Not intentionally.

Overcharged and threatened to go to a collection agency 5 days after the service. I never said I wasn t going to pay. Friday the 17th of November was the service. They sent a text and threatened at 730 pm on the 22nd of November before Thanksgiving to go to a collection agency. The check is already been written.. What the hell.

Didn t install the new irrigation system properly and the result was a lot of dead trees. They have no reasonable service to speak of as it takes 4 weeks for a technician to come out, they don t return phone calls. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Sprinkler Winterizing

The service side is actually pretty good. The accounting side is a disaster. I have had a 2 year billing issue. I have called and emailed at least 10-20 times over a 2 year period and never once have received a return phone call. NOT ONCE over 2 years. It s a shame their billing department ruins the reputation of a decent serviced company. Have had to cut ties.

On a cold day with snow on the ground, Oscar came and closed out sprinkler system. Very good.job.

Three trips out to adjust a sprinkler system that they installed. After multiple attempts the system is still spraying where it should not, not spraying where it needs to. Now I am out with a house trying to keep my grass from dying. They were late for all the appointments, and when i begged them to come out yet again to fix the problem they missed the appointment, after they were an hour late, I canceled the meeting and hired a new company. JUST AWFUL in all aspects. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT HIRE THEM.

Do Not use this company. Find another as fast as you can. They did poor quality work and did not deliver what they promised. When I called to state our bad experience, I was put off to three different people. All of them did nothing. I asked for a call back from the owner, and they said sure. IT never happened. When I requested it again, they hung up the phone on me. Horrible company. Never use them.

As a property owner I have dealt with multiple vendors and service providers over the years. The professionalism that was displayed by Garden State Irrigation was abysmal in process and expertise. Not only did they submit a bill for work, but they requested that it be paid immediately even though the new sprinkler system they installed two years prior had already failed to operate. I noticed one day that the zones were not operating normally so I called Garden State Irrigation back because they were the ones who originally installed the system. The service tech arrived and diagnosed the situation and stated he identified a part that needed to be replaced which he did replace. he told me two zones were stuck open and did not have the time to fix it. The company told me I had to pay them for what they have done so far while the system was still out of commission. I told them i have no problem paying my bills when jobs are complete. They told me it was policy and would not come back to complete the job unless I paid 350 dollars. I called a different company and turned out my zones were fine after testing them individually. Turned out the whole clock was no good. I am very disappointing in this company considering I used them for the install and payed them outright as soon as the job was complete.

I am very pleased with my experience with Garden State Irrigation, and have already recommended them to my parents, who also used their services. Joel came onsite for an estimate and gave me pricing on the spot, and followed it up with a written proposal shortly after that. They happily accommodated my request for a specific (Rachio) controller versus their standard (Hunter). Their pricing was also much less than other proposals I had seen, with comparable hardware quoted. They arrived onsite as scheduled, promptly after we finalized our paperwork, and finished the work in half a day taking care of the plumbing permit.

The hands on service and design is BEYOND amazing. I was able to have the owner personally come and discuss exactly what my landscape needed. Each time I had a question, before, during, and even AFTER the installation, I was able to speak with someone in the office who addressed my concerns. I can be a little worried when it comes to making a big expense decision like this but the quality and care I received from the entire company as a whole made me feel confident in my decision. Over the years you deal with many companies that put you through the ringer and disappear. Not with this company. Theyve been around (I am a nerd and did my research on all local Bergen County companies) for years and it shows in their work. Where else can you send a panicked email at 9pm at night and get an answer before the morning??? My sprinkler head near the street mustve been hit by a landscaper and was gushing all over. Being a new sprinkler system owner, I didnt have a clue what to do!! I knew they were closed so I went on their website, clicked on the chat now, and it sent the office an email. By the next afternoon, someone was at my house and the office was able to walk me through shutting the system off completely so that it would not run again. My irrigation system is now 3 years old and its running perfectly! Even after a backyard redo, the tech, Alex, at my turn on, was sure to shut off the back section so it would not water the sitting area. After taking a look at the lighting work, I may even consider some outdoor lighting as well!!!

Weve used Garden State Irrigation and Lighting for over 15 years, and wouldnt use anyone else for our irrigation and lighting needs. Mark and his team are professional and friendly. Rescheduling an appointment to better fit my schedule is never a problem. We also use them for our holiday lights. They set up, take down, then store the lights neatly in bins. I highly recommend GSI!

Garden state irrigation installed a new sprinkler system for my property in August. They were very professional and got the job done efficiently for a reasonable price. When I reported an issue with one of the sprinkler heads, they came and repaired it promptly. I am very satisfied with the job and customer service.

Several years ago Garden State Irrigation installed an irrigation line for my adjacent neighbor. We purchased our home 6 months ago (which was previously a vacant lot) and approximately 2 weeks ago when we did a large landscaping project for our property we discovered the irrigation line that was installed by Garden State Irrigation was over 2 feet into our property. We dug up the irrigation line and moved it along the fence line (the fence was installed after the irrigation line) so that we could continue with our landscaping work. We believe that they did this because there were river rocks along the side of our neighbors property an Garden State Irrigation was lazy and did not want to move them to install the irrigation line so they just went around them. Garden State Irrigation now refuses to move the irrigation line and reinstall it correctly. They already charged our neighbors $150 for temporarily moving the irrigation line so that we could complete our landscaping work and now want an additional $500 to bury it correctly. It is the most unprofessional behavior to bury irrigation lines on someone elses property. They should take responsibility for their actions.

I didnt get the name of the service technician who took care of the sprinkler turn on last week, but he was excellent! Really took pride in his work and made sure things were done very well. He went out of his way while doing the repairs to take care of the lawn. I was very impressed. Please let me know his name and let him know I really appreciated his work. Hopefully, he can come back every time!

responsive and competent service

They showed exactly on time. Installed Hunter sprinklers as promised. Very neat work, not like my neighbor who were promised Hunter by another installer and got Rain Bird. (GT) When the job was completed you could hardly tell a complete irrigation system was done that day.
