Turf Masters Lawn Care of Woodstock in Woodstock

They did a great job previously but this year they burnt my yard to the point of me having to re-sod in certain locations. Not sure what changed with this company but was given all kinds of excuses/lies on why the lawn died. Have since switched companies and the new company explained to me that turf masters over sprayed and probably had a bad tank mix since all the yards in my neighborhood treated by turf master died.

No happy with the amount of weeds in my lawn and Ive TurfMasters about it twice. TurfMaster treats my yard all year and I was told that pre-emergent treatments prevent grass. Now Im not so sure.

Excellent service, always text before coming, send report of service and tips for better care. Technicians cover the entire property, even behind the utility building.

Service technician was helpful but overall very disappointed with overall results over the last two seasons. Last two years I have seen the customer service and QA tank. I consistently have to call to complain. I told them that this was strike two and if I don t see an improvement I will need to go else where.

Technician answered my questions and made a suggestion as to how the grass could be strengthened and cover a wider area, which is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks

Lazy workers. They will sit in your driveway for 20 minutes, leave an invoice and take off without completing work.

Turf Masters should change their tag line from The Nice Guys to The Rude guys. Very unprofessional. I have been their loyal customer for more than a year. Mostly, I was out of town so never had to call them for anything. This time, I noticed I was being charged way more than what is they are actually offering in my community. So, I called them to see if they can give me any discount or deal. The guy was so rude that he was literally screaming over the phone saying he cant give me deal because someone in community is getting. I mean, I understand if they cant give me any deal but they can at least be polite while telling me that. As a customer, its my right to ask for any discount available. I dont pay to get humiliated and abused on phone for asking for any available deals.

Ive had TM for years but recently I see a change. I had ordered aeration last year (never before had this done) because I felt the yard needed it for growth. This morning a guy shows up and aerates my yard without prior knowledge. I call TM and they indicated that once you order this service they do it every year. No one informed me of this rotating policy last year (because I would have refused it) and no one informed me of TM coming today aerate. Therefore I have no intent of paying for this service. I called TM and was informed a manager would get back to me. Lets see if they do the right thing, This is not the way to keep customers!

Do not hire these people stay far far away, very very, very, very unprofessional!! This is our 3rd year we had this company to aerate our yard; this time told me he wasn t completely finished because it was raining. I knew he wasn t done in my backyard because he wasn t back there long enough. He said he would finish after it stopped raining. He said he was wet and cold. He left! After calling he told me that I misunderstood him. Someone else came out took pictures I guess to prove that he was here. But I know I didn t hear the machine long enough so I called again and he insulted me and said well if you re looking for foot prints! Then I talked to the manager and he said we re just gonna refund your money and we just won t be back out! Super rude, terrible terrible. Terrible. Wish I could give it a zero stars. very very, very unprofessional

Don t waste your money on Turf Masters. Yard looks worse after a year with their service. When I called they tried to tell me it s because we laid new sod and they can t treat our new sod area for 6 months. When I asked when is it noted in your system we installed our sod .they had no idea. Explained it was Aug 2022 We are now at April 2023. 8 months later. We have 7 treatments per year So our new sod missed the first 2 treatments. Should have gotten treatment #3 (new sod) it didn t. Called when weeds starting coming in. Tech came out. No treatment again Called back 20 days later. Same weeds still there but a ton more now . Main office supposedly escalated lawn care to area manager, Manager was suppose to call within 48 hrs. Never did . Tech calls 7 days after call to main office.says he has a call for service. He was just here 4/27) and was calling to see what s happening. I explain the weeds He tells me it s because I have new sod in a shaded area Guess if you spend money on new sod expect to have a yard full of weeds if you have Turf Masters Called to cancel service. Their response when I cancelled due to horrible service. Ohhhh ok

Was a customer for the past 4 years, the service co tiniest to decline. Save yourself a headache and use someone else. I would have thought after calling 4x that a manager would have reached out but instead they decided to cancel my service instead. It was because if me that many neighbors on my street and in my neighborhood decided to use their service as they wanted their grass to look like mine. Unfortunately it was only because of the supplements I did to my yard that it looked as green as it does. They lost a loyal customer and my neighbor canceled as well.

Hired Turf Masters because of the products they use. After one year got tired of half my yard being treated. I have cameras that cover entire property and watched service tech walk and spray. To Date have not had my whole yard sprayed yet. The last application did one pass on left side of yard and back up to truck never step foot on other half. Spoke to manager And he said he would make sure he would have them do it right, well never happened. If I pay 85 bucks for a treatment all I want is to get what I pay you for. Need to train techs on how to spray a yard. Thank God I have cameras....Cancelled service...

Awfully rude staff. Called in to cancel my service over two months ago. They come back and perform more service and proceed to charge me after I gave them notice of cancellation. Called in and let their team know what was going on and the receptionist proceeds to tell me that I m a liar because there s NO WAY she would ve made a mistake. I then asked for the GMs direct phone number and was told that they do not give that information out and I d be contacted if needed. What a hoot!

I have given Turf Masters about every opportunity to provide the service that they agreed to provide. I review camera footage for each treatment because on the very first treatment, I was billed but no one actually came to my property. I submitted a complaint, and the issue was resolved but how many customers just dont pay attention. Every service has been marginal in coverage. I had a lot of weeds around the perimeter of my yard because the technician was only spraying the middle of the yard. I contacted Turf Masters for a service call and they simply told me that my next treatment was coming up and they would make sure that the route manager knew to address the issue. The route manager does a very poor job and during the last treat, the route manager simply skipped a large portion of the yard. I spoke with a manager and even sent my video footage of the front and rear yards being treated to show what was simply not done. The manager stated they would have someone out to take care of the issue in a few days. A week later, no one was out so we contacted them again. Two weeks later, no one has been out to address the issue. If you have Turf Masters and you just assume they are providing the service they agreed to provide, you really need to read the reviews. You will see the common themes. Even if you give them video proof, they dont seem to even care. UPDATE: A higher level manager received my review and called me. He made a verbal commitment to have someone out to take care of the issue and he kept his word. A technician was out before the end of the day and the technician that applied the treatment seemed to do a good job in coverage of the yard. Rating raised from one star to two stars.

Filled out website for a free quote. They called and came by the next day to give us an estimate. Not too long afterwards, we received the email quote. Everything went very smoothly. Heard good things from neighbors.

This guys are awesome. Courtesy call before service. Follow up email after. Recommendations prior to next service. Email notifications and more. My lawn is in great shape regardless of the season. Highly recommended. They will not disappoint.

Called this company this morning Friday Sep 2 at 930 am was told a manager would call me back it s 3 30 pm no call yet. Was going to let them know driver serviced next door today my neighbor also had he s yard serviced yesterday by he s company The Weed man. So Turf master will be Responsible if the neighbor grass dies from to much chemical. They did come back and did my service. I think I went with the wrong company when you are not able to speak to a manager. I m not sure how you can miss my home I have 4 inch black numbers on a white porch pillar. And also on the mailbox. I guess I will go with The weed man. They do know how to read.

Overall the service is very good but I have noticed that some areas have like a burn grass look that could be an indication of over fertilize.

The technician rings my doorbell to let me know he is here.

Customer service is bad with this company. Turf Masters has treated my lawn for two years. I have been happy with the results. However In November of 2021 I called to cancel my service s I need to cut expenses. In December I received a bill for 2022. Again I called to say that I have cancelled my service. Today I got a notice that they are going to treat my lawn tomorrow. What does it take to cancel with these guys?

Turf Master strives to make things right. Anytime I have to call back for any service they will send someone right away. They have done an awesome job.

We ve been using Turfmasters for about 3 years now. This year I decided to take advantage of the aeration as well as keeping up with deep watering on dry weeks and my yard looks great! The lawn has been thick, and ultra green this season! Fertilizer is working very well! Additionally, their customer service team is extremely responsive. I recently developed some browning from the humidity and spotty rains, and they had a tech out within 48 hrs with additional treatment at no charge. I m a very satisfied customer!

I had two other companies before Turf Masters. I felt I was wasting my money as I saw no real results. With turf Masters my yard looks great. And I love the personal touch. Kevin and Roland call m before servicing my yard and if I have any problems, or questions, we discuss it before they come out and they get back to me with answers or suggestions.

If I could share a picture I would. 3 times we have tried to extend our service to include more of the yard where we removed shrubs and reseeded and they sprayed everything but that area. We have called and explained where to spray and put pre-emergent and they neglected to do so. We even asked them to knock and stayed home so we can tell them exactly what we wanted to be sprayed (so they could give a quote on the increase in cost because we expected that) ....they come spray and leave never knocking on the door. Managers were supposed to get in touch with us and no follow up. Last week they were supposed to aerate the lawn....never happened. Less than impressed. Starting the search for a company that will listen and provide better service. Its a shame because we expected that services would increase in cost but they dont seem to care.

I switched from a larger service company last year. Turf Masters has better, safer products (based on rudimentary research), less frequent application, and much better pricing. My lawn has almost no weeds and grows much better compared to when the big brand was servicing it the prior two years.

Since I started using Turf Masters my lawn looks amazing! Last summer it was like the weeds were multiplying overnight! I could not get a handle on them so I called Turf Masters. They gave me great quote and I am happy to say that the weeds are almost gone! There are a few here and there but nothing like before and the most astounding thing is my neighbors yard is SOLID weeds and because of the service his weeds have not crept into my yard! High turn around... no pride in the job or the customer relation. Guarantee you that you will have SEVERAL different techs servicing your yard due to the constant quitting of employees. You will not be able to create a relationship with this company, youre just a number in the system.

I had turf master service for many years. They come regularly to treated but lawn never looks good. I complainedmany times about weed spread more and more their excuse always was rain out too much...i guess only my yard gets rain out all the time. Throughout the years lawn looks worse and worse. I called a few different lawn services after our last one didnt do a very good job. I compared prices and Turf Masters was one of the best prices for the service that they did. They come out and did a great job aerating in the spring and took care of our weeds throughout the yard. I like that they also advise us on what to do with our yard at various times of the season to keep it healthy.

Turfmasters - total scammers. Keep sending us bogus bills, trying to scam us into making a payment to them, when we have never used their services. If we did need a pest prevention company, we wouldnt use turfmasters for this reason alone.

When I signed up for weed and pest control of my lawn and shrubs my yard was a breeding ground for all sorts of weeds. I needed to spray and pull weeds by hand frequently. It took several treatments to notice a difference, but now the number of weeds had been reduced dramatically. I still get a few weeds but the number is a tiny fraction of what I had before your service. Very satisfied!

Turfmaster customer service is beyond rude and their word means absolutely nothing. Make sure you get everything discussed in writing. They lie and will change pricing without your knowledge. I will say it again get everything you discuss with a sales rep in writing!

Turfmasters has serviced my yard at the required intervals. They did a good job of aeration. I still have some weeds in the front yard that I have not gone away but they treated them recently. I am waiting to see if they eradicate them. Those weeds are why I fired my last lawn service, so with this review may be premature. All in all, they are making progress.

Our introduction came from a couple of our neighbors. We live on a street of 16 homes. One home has no lawn to deal with. 15 homes have lawns and one of those works for a landscaping firm and does his own lawn. That leaves 14 homes to compare. One of the 14 has a full time lawn service ..... meaning they cut, edge, blow, fertilize, etc. with only one other having someone else cut their grass......or weeds as they actually are. That leaves 12 who are available for some kind of lawn service. 4 of those 12 take care of their own lawn mowing, but entrust our lawn treatment programs to Turf Masters...... hence 33% of our available yards are using Turf Masters. While I am the newest addition as of March of this year ...... I am the newest because of the actual physical inspection of the other 3 neighbors who use Turf Master as I walk my dog every evening past their yards. My yard is making great progress as are the other 2 additional properties I own or have influence on close by homes. I was impressed with the quick response I received from Turf Masters on the quotes for service to the 3 properties; the quick response to questions I had; the fairness in their pricing; and the actual meeting of the service rep of the properties .... who was professional, courteous, and able to identify the properties and their special needs. So far ... so good .... and .... as a result ..... Id highly recommend Turf Masters to anyone who owns a home, does not have time to manage their lawn care treatments, and who wants a responsive partner who seems to care. How refreshing !!!

I started using Turf Masters about three years ago. My lawn was tired, pale, with weeds and bare spots. Mike took the time to go over what needed to be done, and how the lawn service worked to help fix those problems. Between the monthly fertilizing and weed control as well as the yearly aeration, my lawn is now deep green ,lush and weed free. What is especially nice is that they are very responsive to concerns. One time I felt that the weeds were more aggressive than usual (we had had a lot of rain). I called Turf Masters and they came out the next week, retreated and took care of the problem. They truly care about their customers. I love that the monthly report states exactly what they did that time, as it changes throughout the season. I will definitely be using Turf Masters for years to come.

I think the service provided by TurfMasters is great. They always come on time, the lawn definitely looks good, the prices are reasonable, and the pre-payment discount is great too. I have used them for years and will continue to use them as long as they continue to make me happy.

We had one of the big lawn care companies treat our lawn and they didnt even know what kind of grass we have. Turf Masters not only knew what grass we have, but had a treatment plan that was much cheaper and worked even better. Weve been extremely happy with this company. Our lawn looks great.

Turf Masters are the first reliable Lawn Service I have come across since living in Woodstock. I tried another company last year that quoted my whole yard and only treated the backyard one time. I called for re-treatments and they sent someone out twice who only did my front yard again. Frustrating! I called another company that said they would treat my lawn in 1-2 days. 10 days later I was still waiting and told them to forget it. Turf Masters representative came out the same day I requested a quote and offered a great price and showed up when promised. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for reliability and competence. I have been using Turfmasters for at least three to four years. I have never once called and complained or even had them come out for a 2nd treating. This spring 2015 I had many dead spots on my lawn. I called and spoke with a young lady and told her I would like to meet with someone to walk the lawn and figure out if something more needed to be done ( nicely I might add) she said she would have someone call me, a day or two later the man who services my lawn called. He wanted to swing by and I had said I could not get away from the office today but to please call me back in a few days when he was in the area so we could meet. At least a week went by with no call. So I called back ( nicely again I might add) and spoke to the same lady and said I needed to speak with someone and have someone come out, ok she says I will have a manager call you.Three days went by no call. I than hired a new company and called the number again to let them know they were fired and had a communication issue,,of course this time I got the manager who tried to keep my business,he would also talk over me and not listen to what I had told him and kept trying to keep my business which of course it was too late for that. I would at all costs not use Turfmasters!!! They will not respond to any client issues and could care less only until you are about to fire them!!!!!!!!

Its a little odd...to see that others had given up on their lawn. About two years ago I had one of those unfortunate experiences. Matt and I spoke and he educated me about lawns! I had tried on my own...let someone else do it...nothing seemed to work. Matt told me that it was going to take a year or so...and I wanted something like going through McDonalds! Thats not the way it is with a lawn... is something close to what he said. Were now in our 2nd...maybe 3rd season. The lawn is amazing. The technician calls each time and we discuss what were going to do. Sometimes I think I know better and sometimes my budget wont let it happen! Always, TurfMasters understands amd gives me good advice. The lawn is lovely...and I am not one of those Yard of the Month people...but the folks who do cut the lawn think it looks pretty darned good as well. Thanks, TurfMasters...great stuff.

Ive had lawn treatments as well as mosquito treatments over the last 1-2 years, and have really enjoyed everything so far - excellent product and service!

I purchased a home in the Woodstock area a year or so ago that badly needed some yard maintenance. I contracted with Turf Masters since I knew my time to maintain my yard would be limited due to my work. Its been just over a year, and my yard looks absolutely amazing. Both the front and the back yards are totally revived. The technicians are extremely knowledgeable. They are easy to reach by phone for questions or advice. Scheduling is very easy - depending on your grass they automatically schedule your treatments and call ahead to make you aware of their pending arrival to perform routine treatment. Pricing is very reasonable meaning not expensive. I am very satisfied with Turf Masters and will continue to use their services for years to come.

Ive been using Turf Master for several years because the service is perfect year to year and so is my yard! My next door neighbor had his own landscaping business for several years and commented that a do it your selfer cant go buy the materials and get the ratios perfected and in the same amount of time it takes the professionals. I have been amazed from the first week!!! Ive tried for 3 years to get my yard looking good and failed when it came to the weeds. Their salesman came to my house and gave me a quote (which was cheaper than what I was doing). I agreed and after the first application, I gave it a week and WOW!!!! the weeds were dead and my grass was turning to a BEAUTIFUL dark green.. They give you tips as to what to do to help (very little work) the yard come around. The techs that come out know what they are doing and, they are very friendly. Turf Masters shows up at regular intervals and does exactly what they say they will do, and they are reasonably priced. My grass looks great! Any minor weed issues that we have had were addressed swiftly.

Similar experience to the most recent post. I have used them for over a year now and my yard has shown absolutely no progress. I have called twice spoken to two different managers explaining that all I ask is that someone help with devising a plan on improving my yard. The treatments just are not working. I told them I am a reasonable person and wanted to give them a chance to which they agreed. A service request was sent (in addition to regular treatments) and I happen to speak with the technician who came out. He thought the treatments had just begun but once I told him it had been a year, his facial expression told me enough. He was surprised the yard looked like it does after a year of treatment. As I said, Im a reasonable person, dont expect perfection, but when I give someone a chance to make things right and they dont follow through, I have to let them go. Im not sure the reason behind poor customer service but it amazes me that some companies dont prioritize it. Perhaps they are experiencing expedited growth, but thats no excuse for poor management.

The first time worked very well, but the rest 5 appication didnt work at all! I called them, they said they would came out, applied it again, but they didnt!

My husband and I have struggled with our lawn for years. We have been trying to keep dead spots out of it. We had tried multiple lawn services and had pretty much given up. I dont recall how, but my husband was referred to Turf Masters so we gave it one last shot. Our lawn has never looked better! There are no weeds, no dead spots and it looks beautiful. For the first time in 9 years we have a lawn we can be proud of thanks to turf Master.

Really impressed with these guys this week. They followed through on the word on their salesman, even though the salesman was wrong (and it cost them money). Excellent product and service. MUCH better than their competition. (Ive tried several. The rest cut too many corners.) The technicians REALLY care about my yard and I appreciate that!
