O'Neill Landscape Group in Woodstock

Be cautious, even though the website details services provided for a residential service program, they appear to double bill for the same services through a sister company TurfXpert. The customer service rep states we dont go by what is on our website. Service cancelled after 2 years.

Unfortunately, Ryan Traeger on their team over promises and under delivers. When we tried to be pro-active with him to ensure expectations were met that were originally agreed to he became extremely confrontational and gaslighted us. This sadly was a theme throughout the entire project when then conveniently led to our $50k project needed more work to be done right. Even when we tried to discuss that he told us conversations never took place and conflicted with his foreman actually doing the work. In the end we were left with good to ok work with a bill far over what we agreed to. We spoke to the owner and let it be his decision if the bill stood or if they would do right and take ownership. He chose to remove a load of fill dirt we never were told we needed $400 worth and that was as good as it gets. Given how it was handled from start to finish and knowing they were the most expensive bid we received I do NOT recommend this experience to anyone. The only solution to this was to stick to the budget we agreed to and take responsibility. That did not take place. No customer should be treated this way, especially when they re trying to be pro active to help ensure things were done as agreed to. Edit- since Andrew O Neal decided to come on here and not tell the truth I am adding to this so all can be warned. A boulder wall was NEVER in my scope, nor the $5k it costed. The $400 discount was for a dump truck load of dirt that was needed and was never to be charged for. In addition they cut our gate wire which was another expense to have repaired. I have been contacted by several other clients sharing the same experience with me from Andrew and his company and told of reviews they have suppressed. I will happily dispute the charges or file a case should they continue to lie or if they try to suppress my honest feedback.

Had a tired yard. Clean up and some update needed. Want to keep low maintenance and cottage look. All expectations met and exceeded. Ryan was a great project manager. He listened. My vision was made real thanks to him and a very hard working crew. All expenses outlined before the work. No surprises except maybe how deer like hostas. Live and learn. I highly recommend this company. Thank you 10/30/24: I had a small backyard with a fescue lawn that required too much work with little return Over twenty plus years I have tried sod, reseeding, aeration, you name it and I tried it without success. The yard is very shady and has gotten more so with tree growth. Ryan was the best project manager. His design and implementation was right on. No more lawn. I now have azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, summer anise, a flagstone walkway to the back and a larger flagstone patio. The team of Ryan, Steven, Miguel and Mariano were the best. Two days of hard work with the end product of a beautiful, calm, retreat. I can enjoy my morning coffee on the deck looking over my new landscape. Thank you

You may be good at landscaping but not driving. You need to teach your driver on who has the right away!!

I did my homework and consulted with several different large landscaping groups in our area to get estimates and ideas for the project in our yard. I decided to go with O Neill Landscaping Group and could not be more pleased! From the time I called the company, to setting up the time for the estimate and collaboration, to the final project has been the most seamless and impressive experience that we ve had in a long long time. Sam Wirth, the representative from the company, with his acute attention to detail, was in constant communication with me, collaborated, and produced an end result that we could not be happier with! From the office staff to the workers that completed the project, everyone has been professional, efficient and so friendly. On Saturday August 3 going down trickum road around noon a group of three men in a white Isuzu npr that had ONeil landscape group were tailgating me, blowing the horn nonstop and swerving wildly all over the road. They eventually passed a slower moving car in a no passing zone. Im sure they were way above the 35mph speed limit at that point. These people shouldnt be allowed to operate a vehicle.

Finding a good partner for landscaping is incredibly difficult. Some dont care...some dont even show up. ONeill has been great, and I give tremendous credit to my particular crew, specifically Craig who leads it and Clint who is his right hand man. That have been tremendous and I hope they are well taken care of because they have made me a loyal customer. Today, an additional member, Kevin, joined and we had a quick chat as well. He made some suggestions which I really appreciated then they took care of business. Thanks guys!!

O Neil Landscape installed Zoysia sod in my front yard and also planted flowers and plants along my driveway and mailbox. My yard now looks beautiful and level, anc I have already received compliments from all my neighbors. Ryan. Victor and team did a terrific job. Highly recommended!

Ive used a bunch of different landscape companies over the past 14 years in Roswell. Most of them were solo lawn guys, and one guy actually stole my lawn mower a few years back and that lead me to hiring a professional Landscape Group with OLG. ONeill Landscape Group has been timely, curious and dependable over the last 3 years. I just recently found out that they offer installers as well so we are looking to use them for our plants as well. We highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed!

Working with Ryan was amazing. Our backyard after our pool installation looks so beautiful, it makes me so happy to see it. He was great about troubleshooting concerns that came up during the project quickly and effectively. He was very responsive and the team was timely and stayed on the timeline projected.

We moved to our house about 2 years ago. We asked our landscaper who we had at the time to follow us. However, we noticed that the well maintained yard just didnt look as well cared for as it did by the previous owners landscape company, ONeil Landscape. We switched back to them and within the first week the yard looked much better. Since hiring ONeil Landscape Group weve been well pleased. They come consistently, do a great job and are always willing to talk to us if we do have any needs or concerns. We highly recommend them!

Sam and his team diagnosed the source of our drainage issues, gave us a quote, and completed the installation of the new system in less than 2 weeks! My only complaint is I did not know when they were coming and was surprised when they showed up. I was told the work would be done in 2 weeks. I did not know that was the only notice I would get, and that it would be exactly in 2 weeks. It would be nice if I had been called a day or 2 before. By the time I saw them, they were half way done. I wouldve like to have directed them more where to plant the shrubs.

ONeill did a FANTASTIC job! I called NUMEROUS places and ONeill responded immediately and scheduled to come out. They were kind, knowledgeable and professional. Dain and his crew did a phenomenal job with a recent landscaping job for me. Had water not draining properly in my back yard impacting my new sod. Dain came by and gave me a few ideas, a quick next day quote with a couple of reasonable options, and patience with me to discuss and figure out granular details. We landed ok installing several French drains and a couple of dry creek beds. Dain then set timeline and expectations of when job would start and be complete. Dain and his crew did exactly what he said they would do and completed the job on time. I no longer have a drainage issue and the yard looks great. Highly recommend.

We had great experience with OReilly Landscape Group. They were able to replace drain tubes, create a drainage tunnel, and nicely graded the dirt, and laid out a nice rock top. I would definitely use them and recommend them for my landscape needs.

Dain was very responsive. He listened well to our request, made wonderful suggestions for replacement shrubs and he and the O Neill team executed flawlessly. Would highly recommend their services.

Had sod installed on strip between myself and neighbor, retaining wall installed, and back yard graded. Price was reasonable. Work feels subpar. Communication needs to significantly improve, both between crew and main office and main office and the client. I was disappointed that I had to tell the crew to fix things as they were working and still walked away with a product that requires rework and adjustment. I also felt pressured to submit my final payment although I wasnt 100% satisfied. Looking back at the work 2 months later, the sod hasnt filled in nor settled and looks generally sloppy compared to work I had done personally after the fact. Area to be sodded was never properly graded and no amendment was added beneath the sod to level it out, leaving tons of divots and waves and gaps between the pieces. Was told when I inquired about it that this was common and would settle in, fill in, and level out over time. Would strongly recommend that someone looking for service to be done to outline every tiny detail that needs to be done, otherwise you get exactly what you ask for.

Very pleased with the landscape crew and the work they did in sodding a backyard area. They were on time, pleasant and obviously competent. Would use them in the future.

I had landscaping work done, plus regular yard maintenance. The landscape crews had an awful job ahead of them. They knocked out the work and the finished product was amazing. I even added on some work while they were here and they were able to accommodate it on-the-fly. I was very pleased with all their hard work. The maintenance crew comes over weekly. Ive had nothing to complain about and they dont miss anything. Im glad I hired them and will continue to use their services as the need arises.

Five stars aren t enough to express how pleased we are with our beautiful waterfall and surrounding landscaping done by O Neill Landscaping! The crew went above and beyond every single day of this project. We had a tight timeline and they absolutely exceeded every expectation. They showed up promptly each and every day, cleaned up the area every night, worked diligently, even coming out Thanksgiving morning to check and make sure everything was working, and followed up after completion to ensure we were fully operational and happy with their work. Jose operated the bobcat with the precision of a surgeon! It was incredible!! I would hire these guys again without hesitation. They were fantastic to work with and exceedingly professional. Excellent lawn maintenance service

We used OReilly to just do our small front and backyard maintenance. BUT I couldnt tell they even did anything. Maybe we were a unique case, considering all of the other positive reviews, and the office staff always worked with us as much as they could. But at the end of the day, we never knew when they would come, or if would get our moneys worth when they left. I hope we were just a unique case. The 3 stars are for the office staff.

I first contacted ONeill in November of 2021 to set up maintenance for my front and backyards as well as to do a $10k landscaping project. Brett came out, quoted the project and told me because sod was involved that it would need to wait until April to be completed. I told him that I would be reaching back out in March to make the arrangements to start the project. I emailed him on March 6th and finally after a follow-up email and 2 phone calls heard back from him on March 22nd. I agreed to start the maintenance in the front yard only with the understanding that once some brush was cleared from the backyard(part of $10k project) that the backyard maintenance would be included in the same monthly rate I was paying for the front. Brett assured me that they would be able to clear the backyard in a few weeks and I would not be paying for my full property while only getting half of it maintained for very long. Once the maintenance started I was informed that they were now busy with sod installations and couldnt complete the backyard cleanup until November. That would mean that I would be paying a full rate for half the agreed upon service for over 6 months. While I was not happy about this development I decided to stick with them because I liked the quote Id received for the rest of the project. I spoke with Brett on April 18th after he took a couple weeks to add a couple additional items to my quote and requested some additional information that my HOA was requesting. I was told that he would have it back to me soon, but I did not hear from him again for 2 months. During that time I left him multiple voicemails, sent him multiple emails and called ONeills office twice. Both times that I called ONeills office I was assured(once by Bethany and once by another employee) that Brett would call me back that day but that did not happen either time. I finally gave up, decided to go with another company and emailed Brett as well as the owner, Andrew, requesting that my maintenance be cancelled. After waiting a week and not receiving a response to that email either, I called and spoke to Bethany who apologized that Ive experienced a disconnect I spent 3 months being ignored and lied to by multiple employees of this company all the while trying to spend $10k with them in addition to a $2k a year maintenance plan. The fact that they view that as a simple disconnect should tell you everything you need to know about what this company thinks of its customers and how little it values customer service. There are hundreds of landscaping companies in this area and my advice would be to go with one that actually wants your business and will make even a slight effort to provide you with quality customer service in order to obtain it. ONeill fails horribly in both of those regards. **Response to business response below: I was told by Brett in March when I agreed to start the maintenance plan that the backyard cleanup could be done in a few weeks. I was then told a week later that it could not be done until October or November. The statement that several months had passed is completely false. Also, if you need two months to receive pricing from your vendors then you need new vendors. **

I signed up for landscape maintenance service, which was supposed to include weed treatment in the beds. We ve had two visits, and the weeds in the beds were never touched. I called the office after the first week, and the woman I spoke with was very nice and said they would note on our account to make sure the weeds were taken care of. The following week, the weeds were again untouched. I called, and the woman who I spoke with (again, very nice), said that they could make a note on our account. At this point, we decided to cancel.

This is the second time I used ONeill. Showed up right on time at 800 on scheduled date, had a lot of work to do and Im surprised how quickly amd efficient they did it. Quality job and cleaned up very well. My only disappointment is they did some scraping and grading so I could reseed and some of the old bermuda grass area they scraped grew back in. Minimal to a point I can just fix it in the spring. Overall great job if you want a professional.

ONeill did a great job on the retaining wall and sod installation. They were a bit stingy on the sod amount though, as I thought they were going to install enough to cover more of my back yard, per the contract I signed. They ended up charging me extra for an area they damaged as well with their Bobcat. Otherwise, they did a great job.

Got my yard back! We have lived in our house for 9 years and I have never been able to get caught up in my backyard. Had ONeill come out and did a full yard clean up and now I am loving my yard again! They were very responsive and quick to come out and get the job done! We will definitely be using them in the future!

**update: appreciate the response, but still haven t heard from owner in regards to these issues** We had a retaining wall and grading completed by Oneill in April 2020. In the months following our install, we called our project manager to come back to look at some drainage issues we found ourselves having, which he did mid-May. We were assured there were no issues with the install and it wasn t that wet, just a lot of recent rain will make it wet for a few days . So we have watched over the last 2 years water just standing and the sod just slowing thinning out and dying, resulting in an unusable area bc it was always so wet. We spent over 20k on this project for it not to work. With no help from Oneill, we contacted another company to help with the issues. When installing a new drainage system, they had to JACKHAMMER the dirt because the dirt that Oneill used to fill to make our retaining was was dirt and concrete. So of course our grass will die and we are having issues with drainage, water can t drain THROUGH concrete. Needless to say we are back at square one with dirt, sod, etc. Do NOT use Oneill for a large landscape project unless you can secure the products being used yourself, once they are done they wash their hands of it and are no help, no warranties, nothing.

Sam and his team are phenomenal. They deliver on what they promised, communicated consistently and clearly, and the crew were careful. I was impressed by their ability to get in and out of our landscape with heavy equipment, without leaving a trace or track. I d use them again, and would send anyone else in their service area to them as a first choice.

They did a fabulous job installing a set of stone stairs and pathway on the side of our house. They were very careful to not damage the plants, existing underground drainage system and all the utilities on that side of home. Sam Wirth was great to work with. Came out and did a proposal, sent photo display of how the steps would look in our yard and came in on budget and on time! Very professional and courteous. Highly recommend Sam and the guys at O Neil! Will definitely use again!

A representative came to my property in 2018 to give me a quote on clearing the kudzu in my back yard and plans to make the area viable. I later received notification that they could not do the job because they werent equipped to clear our back yard. I have been a ONeill landscape maintenance customer for almost 10 years. Their service and attention to details has been second to none. However it is always the right people who make the difference. Craig has been assigned to my service for most of my tenure with ONeill. His assigned helpers have come and gone but the steady Eddie has always been Craig. It doesnt matter if his assigned help is on point the day of service or AWOL, Craig never waivers to show up smiling and focused on exceeding his last service visit. Someone surely mentored Craig that it is not how much you get done, but how much you get done well. Thanks for caring Craig.

ONeill designed and installed landscaping in our back yard. They replaced a rotted retaining wall with a beautiful rock wall and also solved some drainage issues. Reasonable price and the landscaping is amazing.

O Neill did our initial yard clean up for a very fair price and the work was well done. We then began using them for our biweekly lawn maintenance and have been pleased with the work they provide.

Wasnt to professional. Filled my application out outside of a office in the parking lot, then before anyone could even talk to me about anything....Im given a urine test. A man called back only worried about thier one star that I accidently gave them, not about the job I was applying for. If star ratings are the main focus then this is your place!

This is our second time using ONeill for landscaping work, and we couldnt be more pleased. They were right on schedule and did a fantastic, high-quality job in our back yard. We added 3 pallets of sod, planted a number of bushes and a tree, and did some drainage work. They were quick and professional, and the communication was excellent -- which is something I truly appreciate. These guys are now our go-to landscaping company. We even hired them for lawn maintenance this year based on how well their installation work has been.

ONeill installed new landscaping for me and I was entirely pleased with the job.

The grass in my front lawn was distressed by watershed. O Neill proposed an effective solution to handle the watershed. They resodded the front yard and built in slight berms to force water to stay on the driveway. They increased the drainage at the bottom to absorb higher water flow. On the install, the crew showed up a couple of days early. Once the work was complete, the crew lead made sure my irrigation system was working and aimed correctly. He even repaired a sprinkler head at no charge. With the past few weeks and a couple of heavy rains, the solution is working as designed.

Sam took care of a small hiccup in a timely and responsive manner. Way above board. I plan to use them again this fall for another project. Easy to deal with and prompt with answering any concerns.

We were charged for services not given. Called the owner to our house & he lied right to our face. We told him the problems we were having with the service, NONE of which were corrected. Sends a different crew of people EVERY TIME. Has guys cut the grass too high so they have to come back often. Just a waste of time & money!

We wanted to improve our uneven, weed-ridden, and occasionally swampy back yard. ONeill developed a plan for a dry creek bed to address the drainage issues, installed shrubbery, installed a paver patio, leveled the yard, and installed new sod. We have been extremely pleased with the results. Our back yard has gone from an overgrown eyesore to a place where we know we will enjoy spending time. ONeills representative, Dain, was extremely easy to work with and was consistently responsive over the course of the project. The quality of workmanship by both ONeills staff and its subcontractor (the patio) is outstanding. We would highly recommend ONeill Landscape Group.

I m really disappointed after paying for services almost two weeks ago and not even receiving an email/call to schedule service. I paid for services approximately two weeks ago, called again on Wednesday (today is Friday) and was told our point-of-contact would get in touch with me to schedule service, but as of 7pm Friday, I still have not had any contact with the company (despite having paid a significant 50% fee for the services). For a company that supposedly prides itself on communication, I am beyond disappointed.

I have used ONeill twice - once for re sculpting my back yard & most recently replacement for rotting wood retaining walls. BOTH times, exceeded my expectations! For any type of yard project, I will go no further than ONeill. Their working staff has both times impressed me. Kudos for attracting & maintaining such a staff of imaginative, hard workers!

I was finally ready to make some professional curb side appeal improvements to my Townhouse yard and ONeill Landscape really came through for me. I worked with Dain to put together a personalized quote for what I was looking for and after I signed off on the quote and got scheduled, I found his team to be friendly, respectful and professional hard workers. Im very happy with the landscaping they did and all of my neighbors have enjoyed my new plants and roses. I also got a Butterfly bush in the backyard and have enjoyed it as well. They didnt care that I had a small job. They took care of me, answered all my questions and I know they will take care of any needs in the future.

ONeill Landscape group did an amazing job at my property, completely transforming my back yard. Sam came out and gave me a quote to install a retaining wall, do some grading as well as bury some drainage in the yard. I originally became a customer of Ashman Landscape Group back in March 2012. At that time my yard was a disaster, but Jeremy Ashman (CEO) assured me that his service would revive my lawn and bring my yard back to its best appearance. As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding and sure enough after a few seasons my yard was once again something that I was proud for people to see. When ONeill Landscape Group merged with Ashman Landscape I was a little leery at first and kept my fingers crossed that I would continue to receive the same level of service and care to which I had become accustomed. I am happy to report that the transition was seamless. The yard crew still shows up every week as expected and does a great job. The two man crew is very efficient and they get my whole yard done in 30 minutes or less, and they leave the yard looking great. I also get the chemical treatments (weed control, fertilizers, etc.) done 7 times per year and I still have the same technician (Robert) who has been treating my yard since the beginning. Robert always does a great job as evidenced by the fact that I have no weeds in my yard, and the grass is always lush and green during growing season. I also really appreciate the fact that Robert text messages me the day before he comes so that I know to keep my dog inside the day of the treatment. I am very pleased with my relationship with ONeill Landscape Group and the quality of the work they perform. I can recommend them without hesitation.

ONeill Landscaping took over my lawn care about a year and a half ago when my provider at the time merged companies. They have been doing everything to make sure I have a great looking lawn! I am amazed to look around my neighborhood and see the difference between my lawn and the homes that do not use ONeill to treat their weeds and to fertilize. It is really astounding how good and lush and green my grass is (and I have two different kinds of grass in my front and back yards). On top of that, the people who come out to service us are so kind, professional, honest, and take the time to explain things when needed (like when we needed to water our lawn within 24-48 hours after a treatment when it was not raining). They have been easy to communicate with and helpful whenever an issue arose. I am truly pleased with all my experiences with ONeill and grateful for all they do!

Dont waste your time with this service. They blow debris in neighbors yard instead of taking it away. They have wrecked neighbors fence on several occasions. They did not trim bushes that became treelike because of their neglect, and now they want to charge extra to take away the bushes I had someone else trim. They start off great, but get lazy. Time to shop for another service.
