BEWARE DO NOT HIRE GRASS GUYS! This company is unprofessional and unreliable. We had the unfortunate experience of using them for lawn service this past spring/summer and it was a horrible experience. They rarely showed up as scheduled - requiring us to make tremendous efforts at communicating with them by text, email and phone calls to get them to come and do the work. In the end, they failed to fulfill their obligations pursuant to their contract. Ultimately, we may have to commence legal proceedings against them for damages and breach of contract. We also incurred damages at our property from the misuse of their equipment where they severed electric wires with their trimmers to the patio lighting system. They also damaged the lawn - putting holes in the grass with their equipment - see photos below. Recently, they have tried to collect on the remainder of their contract when they failed to attend and do the required work. Clients can report matters to the Competition bureau of Canada any misrepresentations and/or fraudulent businesses practices such as improper references to third-party collection companies which this company likes to threaten and fear monger their clients with.
They haven’t show up yet to clean my parent’s property. I have called them over 20 times, no response.I would not hire this company ever in my life
Be careful to hire this company. They don’t do service which they charge for. They will Auto renew your contract even you are not interested. Terrible communication. They are always on time to take payments, but not to do the job. Kind of Scammers in Ontario.
Garbage company we have ever experienced, my mother hired them for their priority service. But we didn’t know that service doesn’t exist. Guy Bryan make lot of promises just to take clients. They are very cheap as their service. Would recommend you guys to clean your driveway yourself, instead of hiring them.
If you’re paying them for snow removal, DON’T. They won’t come. Learned the very, very hard way! Stay away from these crooks! No response after calling multiple times and they will probably not give us our money back even though we were forced to shovel our driveway ourselves!
Beware. This company has scheduling issues and will not come to your home regularly. I hired them at the start of 2024 for the summer. I wish I took pictures of what my lawn looked like because they kept “rescheduling” me. My neighbour got fed up and cut my grass because of how bad my front lawn looked. I’m a single mom so I hired them because I need the help. Because they didn’t show up I asked for a refund. Here I am in November and after 24 (I just counted) text messages from me and them promising they would refund me my money or “schedule” me in (I use the word schedule lightly because they don’t know how to do that) they started to ignore me. The last text I got do Rim them was that they would come and do a fall cleaning. LOL. What a joke. My 12 year old daughter and I just finished it ourselves. Apparently they can charge you quickly but they don’t have a system to do refunds. Beware everyone. This business is unprofessional. Sorry. Can’t comment on their work. Because they didn’t do any. Would love for them to respond to this review. Remember I have the entire text chat I can copy and paste here as proof they admitted they didn’t do any work and they owe me money. Let’s see what happens now. Probably nothing. They should be ashamed of themselves for taking money from a single mother. Or anyone for that matter.
They do try but unfortunately are not reliable. Have used them this entire (2024) season and for the majority of the biweekly service had an issue. Eg. Missed service dates, forgot to cut some of the grass, deweeding not fulfilled. For the most part they did resolve concerns when raised. I had to constantly follow up with them each time. The last service of the season was the final straw. They didn’t show up and then lied and said they did and compounded their lie by sending old photos. lol. I’m all for supporting small businesses, but when integrity comes into question I can’t look past it. If you’re looking for a decent price without any confidence the service will actually be fulfilled these guys are for you. Otherwise I’d caution yourself.
Last year I experienced very poor service with grass guys after canceling with them they asked me to give them another chance so I did because it was a gentleman by the name of Brian that started this business. This year I get a text message from grass Guy saying they're renewing my service and when I said I don't want my service renewed within 10 minutes of receiving the text and email they had said that it is past September 1st so I owe them a 50% cancellation fee. This company over commits to clients and has overbooked you will probably get a service 4567 hours after the storm and as a result there's no point of even getting the service. They spray so much salt all over the place that your the salt actually looks like snow on the ground. I've literally had to wash the salt down with my holes in the middle of the winter because it was so excessive

I wanted to give what appeared to be an up and coming company some support. Communication is terrible, estimates were not clear. I had to explain the job requirements multiple times, and that the job couldnt start until the sprinkler system had been opened mid May. They agreed to a time to start and then didnt start the work until 4 weeks after that. We received their flyer in our mail box but there was NO company name on the flyer... none anywhere. I paid half up front and we agreed on the rest when the job was completed. It appears that they had no intention of completing jobs. They should not be advertising for work if they cannot keep to their commitments. Just a suggestion. It really is a waste of money to print ads and pay Canada Post to deliver them. I should have been more wary of your company when the name of the company was not listed anywhere on the circular that was delivered to my postal box. I have been trying to help companies that appear to be starting out and that was the impression I got when I first inquired about an estimate for this job. I intentionally overlooked some flags that would normally stop me from proceeding because I wanted to give a small business some support. They have abused that intention and have abused every opportunity that I presented for redemption. I wanted to believe in them and their company and I put my faith in what they presented as good intentions and a belief that they may have been someone who was trying to get a footing in something that was new for them. I no longer believe this. I can no longer overlook what I took to be growing pains . This is a business that is in need of serious organizational help. Online reviews from employees talk about lack of payment. Im glad I got away with not having paid the full amount and I finally got part of the job done for the part of the invoice that I paid. I now have to go out and look for someone else to complete the job, 2 months after the job was supposed to be completed. July 3, 2024 Saw the response from Ryan... unfortunately, that is not what was agreed upon. You clearly stated that paying half when the rest of the job was done was agreeable with you. And the texts clearly stated that I would pay the remainder once your team showed up to perform the rest of the job. Agreed on both sides. After so many texts and emails where you did not respond, I was never going to pay up front considering how much badgering I had to do just to get you out hear to do the first part of the job. And once your phone number indicated that it was no longer in service, that was the last thing that convinced me that this was not an operation that had things in order.
Communication is terrible. Tuesday is our day for grass cutting and so far they have come only twice on Tuesday. If there even the slightest chance of rain in the forecast they come whenever without letting us know even after asking them to do so. We were supposed to have our shrubs trimmed yesterday and they never showed up. Never informed us they werent coming and up until the time of this review (almost 24 hours) havent responded to our text as to what is happening. Weve asked them to let us know if they are coming on another day than Tuesday and the once or twice they actually did they did so less than half an hour before coming. If we were not home the gate would be locked and they wouldnt be able to access the backyard thus becoming our problem again. This is a poorly organized business. We will not be using them after this season. Id cancel now but we have prepaid for the season.
Was going to sign a contract with this company but the staff is not really responsive and took almost 1.5 weeks to get a proper quote (with an amendment). Would recommend finding another company that is more responsive and is on top of their prospective clients.
Very poor customer service. When I was looking for someone to take care of my lawn, this guy Ryan called and made all these promises to fix my lawn and take care of everything. I selected a package that included detaching, overseeding, weed removal from soft and hard areas, fertilizer, clean ups, trimming of scrubs, mowing biweekly...pretty much everything. You would imagine with selecting so many options you will be tension free and everything is now taken care of. Unfortunately the only service provided is mowing and spring cleaning up so far. My lawn grass quality is still the same. No weeds were removed from the flower beds or grass. No shaping of plants is done. When I asked the team to do it, they shaped it a little, garden beds still have weeds. God knows what fertilizer or overseeding they will ever do. I called multiple times to ask for services to be provided- no result. I asked for speaking to Ryan 5-6 times now, the guy who promised me stuff- no call back. The last time i spoke to a guy who very rudely told me that WE ARE NOT CERTIFIED TO REMOVE WEEDS FROM THE GRASS and Ryan knows you want to speak to him, he is very busy, he will call you back soon. When is spoke to Ryan before signing up with them I told him my concerns regarding the quality of my grass beds which is filled with weeds. He never mentioned that they were not certified to remove weeds from the grass beds. And obviously he never called back. I then read the contract again and realized, yes grass weed removal was not there. But my flower beds are still covered with weeds. To sum up my frustration with them, they will only cut the grass, other than that they will not do anything else you pay for unless you remind the team that, then too, its not completely done or not done at all. Im a mother my 2 very young babies and signed up with Ryan hoping that I wouldnt have to worry about my lawn. Im writing this review hoping they will improve their customer service and I can take this review down. The team that shows up seems like a good hardworking team. I dont think they know what my package includes. They are not given proper instructions by their management/owner. P.S - Im not any ex-employee. Seems like thats their go to reply to all negative reviews...lol
The owner of the business threatens with legal actions if you do not continue your contract with them. He promises one thing and then charges you for services that have never been provided.

I have used the Grass Guys for several years now and they have been just fantastic. The guys that come to cut my lawn has been the same for 3 years now and they are so friendly and do such a good job and care for my yard. The office is so friendly and they have great communication. Its so easy to deal with these guys.

Grass guys did an excellent job on my lawn
The Grass Guys are awesome and very professional and did an excellent job with my lawn last summer. I work long hours and needed someone reliable to maintain my lawn. I ll be using their services again this year! I m so happy I went with them. Totally worth every penny!
We started using this company at the beginning of the season last year. There were some hiccups in the beginning which was to be expected as this is the first time they serviced our property. After that, they were great! Minor issues were dealt with promptly and satisfactory. Customer service was great. Using them again this year!

Grass guys are affordable, fast and effective. I was pleased with their service on my parents tricky-to-mow, large lawn.
The only reason im giving 1 star is because I cant give 0 stars. Charged my moms (a senior citizen) credit card and did not provide service. When we tried calling no one responds.
By far the worst business I ve ever dealt with. Doesn t show up when scheduled, when they do, they do an incredibly horrible job. Horrible customer service, problems are never dealt with , I regret hiring them. This company is a SCAM! Stay away. P.s. they charge your credit card without authorization.

They simply don t show up nor do they communicate with you. They do not answer the phone and prefer to deal with sms. The only prompt thing they do is to charge you!! NOT RECOMMENDED I have never dealt with a careless service provider like these guys. STAY AWAY
Terrible service, don t show up, charge cards without authorization, poor customer service AND to top it all off they have now changed their name and respond to all negative reviews as fake and from a disgruntled employee. You d be a fool to give them your service after seeing these reviews and for just how terrible their overall service is
Update: I have updated to 3 stars from 1 as they have been making improvements on the scheduled cutting lately. I m an honest reviewer and tell it like it is and when companies do make improvements so will the reviews. Below is the previous review for reference: They don t have proper scheduling and show up when they feel like it. It s not a proper business when they can t do basic scheduling, following up to inquiries etc. But they do an excellent job taking your money even for the days they don t show up :) .
Updating my review. When the service started in June, the time management was really awful. So I gave only 1 star at that time. But now(September) their time management has been improved significantly. Everything is going well. I m happy with their work.

I had a great experience with The Grass Guys. Initially saw a sign with their number and reached out. They responded right away, were very clear on their scope of services (they were one of the few that did bi weekly cuts, something I wanted) and the sign up process was quite smooth. I was concerned at first as it was my first time using them but I was very happy with the service. They showed up consistently and their work was professionally done (sharply trimmed edges, leveled lawn, no leftovers). On top of that, they are very responsive. Ive never had to wait more than 30 min before getting a response to a text or email. Great business, great service, outstanding people. I strongly recommend them.
Grass Guys have been providing both lawn care and snow removal service past season. I m going to continue with their services. Ryan and his team is great to deal with and provide great service.

Reliable, responsive service. If there were delays in providing services due to weather, we were given advance notice. Communication was very good. When we requested delays due to work being performed, they accommodated our requests. Very flexible. Would use Grass Guys again in the future.
