Great job. Great response. Great crew. The guys did what they were supposed to do, per the agreement. Quick response to a phone call and text. I appreciate Steve and crew. Given the weather and environment, the crew acted regardless. These are the people you want in your life, not just mowing your lawn. If I could give them more than five stars, I would. They get the point. There's a lot I can positively say about them, but my time is short. Talk to Steve. Good guy. Get it done. Again, great crew, great boss. My two cents. These are the people I fight for. Enough said.

Terrible experience. Problem not fixed, property damaged, property stolen and no response. Unable to charge back payment so will be suing to pursue resolution along with assisting HOA and management company suing for damage to neighborhood property. Had standing water in my back yard, see pictures below for the "fixed" solution. Still 3"+ standing water. Had planned to seed grass but due to the problem not being fixed having to spend additional for sod as seed will get washed away. Our street was just refinished 2 weeks prior to this job. The street was gouged and torn up right in front of our house. There's a permanent white stain for the rock and shell filled soil that was dumped on the street. It was literally brand new weeks before. One of our HOA board stopped by to address the issue, this was before the damage was done. Even after this road was still torn up. See pictures. I specifically said we needed CLEAN fill dirt as we have small children and other kids come over regularly. This was agreed to. The soil was filled with large shells and rocks. See pictures. I threw a rock out before taking a picture that was 10" long by 5" thick. First time they were out damaged my 4 month old brand new vinyl fence. This was before I knew everything I knew now. I let them turn the fence panel around so we couldn't see it instead of replacing it. Sprinkler system damaged, was told the pipe was only 2-3" below surface and why it was damaged. See picture at 5" below ground, this was after soil had already been removed from the surface. This was never fixed. In Florida standard install is 6" below surface so depth was never an issue. Just ignorance. The crew used my wheel barrow without asking, broke the handle off of it and just left it in the yard for me to find the next day. This was the next day after they came back a second time to fix the original problem that was never fixed. The crew took my yard tool. I texted the owner to let him know, twice, never responded. I had the sprinkler line fixed, wheel barrow fixed and bought my own grade rake and went out to try and fix the numerous issues with the grading job. I'm unable to charge back form of payment, I always put things on credit cards for protection but was given a discount for paying in cash(tax evasion?) so against my normal practice I did. Since I may such a poor choice only left route is suing in personal claims court for myself and HOA/management company will be taking their own route.

In March 2020, I hired Steve, owner of Grass Roots Lawn and Care, LLC, to resod my entire backyard as the grass was dying in areas due to shade in certain areas. During the 'quote' phase, Steve told me that ProVista grass, "a new St. Augustine hybrid grass" works "extremely well in shade as it is a 'shade and sun' tollerant new strain of grass recently developed." Steve further stated he has installed this "type of grass at many other customers" of his. Steve also said that based on the shaded area, he would add a "4th zone" for irrigation to cut down on the volume of water to the 'shaded area' and add/relocate several sprinklers to ensure adequate water coverage for the new sod. Based on his word/expertise, my wife and I agreed to pay him approximately $3,500 to resod approximately 2,500 sq ft of lawn and add/relocate a fourth sprinkler zone/sprinklers. After the job was completed, a 4th sprinkler zone was NOT added and 5 sprinklers were added to the 'shaded area' (was 2 prior). I didn't realize a 4th zone wasn't added right away because Steve kept talking about the 'quality of work' his crew did. I should have known something wasn't right because before the job was completed, he asked me to pay him almost the remaining balance because he "needed to make payroll." Being a Financial Crimes Investigator whose wife is former IRS attorney, anytime anyone can't make 'payroll' is because the company has NO CASH in their bank account. If you are considering hiring this company for sod/irrigation/fence installation, I STRONLY ADVISE AGAINST them as the work you get does not reconcile to the higher than average price paid (obtained several quotes and didn't go with the cheapest).
