had to politely say no five times before they stopped soliciting at my door

I had the absolute worst experience with Weed Man, and I feel the need to share it so others can avoid the same frustration. Here s a breakdown of what happened: First, they came to fertilize my front lawn, and within just 3 minutes, the job was done. My property is quite large, and I had a Ring camera that showed the worker only hit certain areas and then left. I hadn t even paid for the front yard fertilization only for the backyard. So, I called to complain, and they agreed to come back to do the backyard. When they arrived to complete the work, the employee knocked on my door after finishing. It took me about a minute to get there, and by the time I opened the door, he was already across the street getting into his car. I called out to him, and he screamed something back, but I couldn t hear him due to the traffic. Then, he just drove off without any explanation. After both yards were supposedly treated, the result was disastrous. My lawn looked like it had suffered some alien encounter, with patches of deep green where the fertilizer had been applied and areas that were almost yellow where it had been missed. It was incredibly uneven and unsightly, to say the least. I even attached drone footage to show them how bad it was, but the response was less than helpful. Then, I received a call stating that my property was much larger than initially quoted, and to continue their services, I d need to pay a huge additional fee. This was despite the fact that I had already paid for the services through the end of October. Their offer was simple: either pay the extra money, or cancel the services and get a refund for anything they hadn t completed. At that point, I decided to cut my losses and cancel their services altogether. The moral of the story: Save yourself the headache. I even had a customer of mine ask, You didn t hire Weed Man for your lawn care, did you? I ve heard nothing but bad things about them. I should ve listened. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for lawn care services.

We were initially pleased. We purchased a package...in the Spring, they came and apparently seeded and fertilized. Then they attended after the broadleaf weeds (dandelion and clover I think) appeared and allied weed killer. The result was wonderful. No more dandelions and clover. However, we noticed that we began to have a lot of crabgrass...called, they came, and said they couldnt help us. Then they came and fertilized...they ruined our beautiful backyard... large and small areas of dead brown grass. The fertilizer also ended up in our pool...not good for kids, pets and the liner! We called and they allegedly sent a Manager. He told us heads will roll...and they would return the resod or seed or something to fix it. We have had no return visit...and coincidentally, that last fertilizer was the last step in our package! So, while we have no dandelions or clover... my front grass has been totally taken over by crabgrass (my neighbors have none... where did it come from after Weedman seeded and fertilized?) and my perfect back yard has been burned out in areas with no response for repairing the damage caused by them. So... while I will say that all of the young men who attended were friendly and polite, it is clear to us that we are now worse off than when we had only a few dandelions! I cannot recommend this service to anyone!!!!

We hired this company for their full weed control package, expecting comprehensive care for both our backyard and front yard. Initially, they inspected our landscaping and then informed us that their service only covers the lawn and grass areas. They refused to address weeds in other areas, like our gravel paths, claiming that was our responsibility. When we called to cancel the service, as we needed comprehensive weed control, they assured us the service was cancelled. Shortly after, they called back, claiming there had been a misunderstanding and promised to take care of everything, including the gravel areas. However, they never showed up to perform the service! Its been over a month, and we are still waiting. The lack of clarity and follow-through has been incredibly frustrating. I cannot recommend this company due to their poor communication and unreliable service.

Edit: The owner promptly addressed my concerns and corrected the plan to vegetation control for the rock garden. I would still warn anyone considering Weed Man that it took leaving a poor review to actually contact someone local who could consult on their services. Original: I wanted an estimate for managing weeds growing through my rock garden and was told no one would come out to survey unless I bought a package. So I bought their service and explicitly asked not to apply anything to the backyard to keep my dog and garden safe. Someone from weed man finally came out but only to spray fertilizer. When I asked about the rock garden, I learned it wouldnt be covered by the package I was sold. Apparently, its considered vegetation control that (wasnt offered to me by either of two sales people)...

Today I spoke with Chalena from Weedman on process of my lawn service. She was very helpful in explaining and answering each and every question I asked. Loved her patience. Very excited to seeing results. Thank you

Weed Man will go above and beyond to make you actually appreciate their service. I especially enjoy talking with the customer service friendly understanding and will help in anyway possible to make their service all that much more valuable. My lawn looked like a disaster before the service it was full of weeds I thought there was no way to salvage it. I called Weed Man as my neighbor swore their lawn was the way it is because of the service. I took a chance and that chance paid off after a year the weeds stayed away, and aeration and seeding followed. The bare spots on the lawn started to come back and the weeds are kept at bay. The lawn is starting to look great, and now its fuller weeds still needs to be controlled so there is no doubt without them my lawn will look like gophers had a field day. One thing I learned through this process never bag your clippings mulch them let them settle into the lawn it helps with the process as well.

Not happy with service. Fertilizer did not help grow grass. And the weed control did not kill any of my weed issues. I cancelled my subscription end of season 2023 via phone but they still are showing up Spring 2024 and I cannot seem to get a hold of anyone to cancel because the office is closed. Terrible company! Not only is it run by a bunch of kids with zero knowledge or experience in this industry it s the only company I know that also harasses you during the winter! Soliciting is illegal in Canada yet somehow they are still doing it! A government body really needs to investigate this and intervene this is beyond ridiculous now!

Do not send your solicitors to my door after dark. They blatantly ignore signs that request no solicitors. Again 1/24/2023 you guys sent a solicitor to my door who blatantly ignores the sign stating NO AGENT, PEDDLER, OR SOLICITOR. When I remind the agent, instead of apologizing they say Well, actually a solicitor means.... I dont care. I dont want your services peddled to me at my door. We have online advertisement, radio advertisement, ads in the bus, in the sky... can I get some peace and quiet from marketing at my home?

After a few decent years with fair service, Ive decided to cancel their services after stealing $130.00 from me for a service I did not agree to. And when they played the recording of my conversation with the salesperson after months of me requesting it, it was cherry-picked phrases I used in previous phone calls. The recording was a tiny fraction of the in-depth conversation I had telling them I did NOT want that particular service. So because of this $130.00 error, they will now miss out on countless years of payments.

Had 1 season old sod that I wanted maintained. Had weedman come for weed prevention and fertilizer throughout the summer. Within 2 weeks of the first weed control application, I had more weeds pop up than I had ever seen before. By August, I had perfectly even strips of yellow grass across my lawn. Now come spring and my lawn is completely yellow. Healthy new grass does not completely die in less than 12 months with regular maintenance and watering. Someone messed up and put the wrong stuff on my lawn.

I was very skeptical. And had a poor experience many years ago. However after trying to save me lawn myself I knew I needed outside help. I work long hours so my wife had to deal with the whole process. She met a gentleman by the name of Martin who was very friendly and very helpful. After a few treatments my neighbours are commenting how good my lawn looks. Not sure if every lawn tech is as good a Martin. But based on my results and how happy my wife is with his customer service skills Id highly recommend this company and if you do ask for Martin. Its my experience that going forward I would prefer only Martin work on my lawn.

After I informed them that I was not interested, the phone calls never stoped. Following the numerous amount calls, I had a cordial conversation with one of their representatives. She promised that I would not be solicited anymore. It took only three days before I started receiving these calls again. I tried to ignore it hoping that it would stop, but it did not. When Nick called I tried to tell him that I did not want to receive calls and I even used the word harassment , but he still kept asking who would take care of my lawn. I wanted to ask if he needed help, because what he was doing was not even being a good sales person. I told him I hate to be impolite and hanged up on him. Mr Owner, I am holding you responsible. Next time you call me, it really is going to cost you.Think!

Came to my door asking if they could text me a free quote for lawn care. Called multiple times and I answered once and the person was very aggressive, and did not agree that I should have to ask my wife before deciding. Called every day since until I answered the phone again today. I asked a few more questions and said I d talk it over with my wife. The man, who was different than the first, gave me the same tone as the first and ultimately hung up on me. Perhaps their physical services are good, but not with how they handle (potential) customers.

A man named Nicholas called to follow up on the quote they offered. He began the conversation very welcoming and friendly. I informed him that we ve decided to try and purchase our own spray this year and fertilize/oversees ourselves to see how that goes for us this year (due to $). He ended the call rudely and just said ok thanks for your time and hung up on me. Unprofessional and I wouldn t recommend they treat potential future customers this way. If we are unable to manage our property on our own and require someone else s services after all, I would be hesitant to call this company back for help.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The tech who came to my house never did the backyard. When trying to contact the manager they just dont call you back. Talking to the 1 800 number will get you no where. I had to cancel 3 months in and then they didnt want to repay me for half the yard they didnt do twice!!. Very unprofessional. They are supposed to text you before coming but were unable to transfer the number from one to the other correctly. (Main account to tech invoice) Scott the manager never calls and you cannot talk to a supervisor or manager when calling them. If you do not watch them you are most likely being scammed.

The worst customer service we have EVER received!!!! What we paid for was not completed at all. After calling and emailing multiple times they still did not help the situation! Every person we spoke with talked over us and was unprofessional and rude! Save yourself time and money and don t bother with them! We have never been so disrespected and disappointed. Our neighbours grass is beautiful and uses Mr. Goodlawn.

They came one time to to weed control and it didn t make a dent on our lawn. I asked for reapplication treatment which they say is free during our payment period and I ve waited over 3 weeks and no one has gotten back to us. I spent almost 300 on their care package for absolutely nothing. They do not honor their word and back up their jobs. Do not use them. Completely unprofessional.

I signed up to have Weedman treat our lawn 4 times throughout the spring summer and fall. I believe today was our final application of spray and fertilizer. I would like to thank the gentleman that was just at our home in Kingsville. I believe he said his name is Charles. He did a thorough job, not knowing I was keeping an eye on him. Once finished, he came to the door, pleasantly introduced himself, explained what he had applied to our yard and provided instructions on care for the next few hours, warning about keeping animals or small children off the grass for a short time period. Thank you Charles for your kindness, professionalism, thorough job and going the extra mile to provide excellent customer service!

In windsor Ontario. Waste of money. After a small fortune for their service my lawn has never looked so bad, full of dead patches and weeds. The only thing they were good at is collecting the money. When I complained they drop off some grass for me to repair the dead patches myself.

Made a phone call a week ago and to date nobody has shown up although I did get a 2nd call telling me they have my quote when I specifically told them I need/want an in person visit before committing to anything.

After telling Weedman that we do not believe their services are essential during a pandemic, we have been receiving constant calls with no one on the line.

Job they did on my lawn was lazy compared to services my neighbours were getting. But the reason Im leaving 1-star is that the company will harass you with calls if they have your number. Ive informed them multiple times that I no longer have a house with a lawn and so I cant possibly sign back up, and yet I received at least one call a day for over a week before I finally blocked the number.

I get an email when they are coming for a service. Only once did they not show when they were supposed to but another appointment was made. Some techs are better at spraying the weeds but Ive had no problems requesting more visits for weed control. My lawn has improved greatly since hiring Weed Man last spring.

Terrible company, non responsive, extremely expensive, not worth it.. I will never sign up with these guys anymore..I would rather prefer to go with startup.. They have my request in there system but nobody show s up even after bunch of follow ups... My lawn is dying, It needs application of weed control right away... Sprayed for weeds. Didn t help. Called them about this. They were back within 2 weeks to re-apply the weed killer. Second time seemed to work.

WATCHOUT from this company!!.They sprayed my front lawn without my consent and demanded payment. My front lawn was new at the time with grass just starting to grow after replacing approximately 3ft depth of soil, the Weed man had noticed that my lawn was new and decided to spray it with their so called weed prevention spray without asking or an appointment. The problem didnt end there, the person demanded that I pay for the service without initially asking if I wanted it, and proceeded to send me to collection when I didnt want to pay. I was scammed out of $105 for a service that I had no proof that it was preformed, and ever since the right side lawn that the employee claimed that he sprayed has been full of weeds and other invasive plants. Thank you for ruining my lawn!!

Customer service has been great. Love getting a text message before service is being performed so I am prepared. The nematode service is amazing, the grubs are all gone and the grass looks great. Love that they will analyse your grass and recommend certain services for it to look better, or to get rid of things like crab grass.

The men were polite and professional. They happily responded to pay close attention to an area of concern and did exactly as I asked. The lawn looks much better than it ever has, and my wife is very happy. We are both glad to have tried the Weed Man experience.

First time using The Weed Man. Thus far, I ve been very pleased with their professionalism, and the results following lawn applications to date. I had been using the services of an independent and well-known local lawn maintenance business for some time, but was not always pleased with the results, and/or their application scheduling dates. Seemingly, they d get around to it, when they so did and this, after having paid in full for the entire season. Further, The Weed Man s service fees are considerably much less and this, for the exact same service applications that I have come to expect. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends, as the level of service is indeed more than satisfactory.

My workplace has had an excessive weed problem for as long as we have been here (13 years) and since using the services of Weed Man Lawn Care we have seen a drastic improvement in our appearance and we have recently started to use them!

I called to see if they could help with Japanese Knotweed (nasty stuff) that I found. They said no.

They got it done when they said n they seem like honest young men Im glad I picked them n if u need something done dont hesitate to call them

I hired Weedman Windsor because I lost control of weeds in my lawn. When I contacted them, I explained that I had extensive invasion of Creeping Charlie and they assured me that they could handle the problem. The first time they showed up to spray, they were here less than 15 minutes and only prayed one tenth of the infected areas. I called and complained and they acknowledged the problem explaining they would spray again, free of charge after 10 days. The second spraying was no better than the first killing no more than 20 percent of the weeds at this point. I called and complained again and the lady I spoke with said they would send someone out to do a blanket spray; finally I thought, this should do the trick. They showed up several days later and guess what, no blanket spray but he did they did cover a little more area. In total after 3 weed sprayings they have only eliminated and estimated 40% of my weed problem. I have attached 2 photos of Creeping Charlie infested areas of my lawn and remember, this is after 3 sprayings. There are many more areas like these. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company. I have changed my Satisfaction Level to 2 because I received an email that invited me to use their messaging system to contact them. In their message they said they would get my weed problem fixed at no additional cost explaining that Creeping Charlie was difficult to control. So for now, I will wait and see if they live up to their promise.

June 29, 2021 - Martin just sprayed my lawn with some weed preventative/killer and took the time to explain what he was doing and how the product worked. Full of knowledge and information. Very professional. He even took the time to assist the elderly lady across the street with a few questions she had regarding weeds. Great service.

This company is a joke. They were so passionate about their guarantee to fixing my lawn from the weeds. They promised a healthy, green lawn, and now its fall and my lawn has more weeds and patches than ever. They had the audacity to call me to re-new my membership for the next season, and I said no thanks. They kept calling. They are a scam, a highly dont recommend them.

They tricked us into accepting a visit for a quote; the quote never happened so one day we woke up with one of their guys tresspassing, spraying our lawn, saying we own them money. We called their company and weve been threatened that if we dont pay they call a collection agency and they will get their money even though we havent signed anything with them. Stay away from these guys. Theyre worse than weeds.

Lawn has never looked better

The staff does not have much knowledge about the services they are selling. 9 days ago I was given a different quote with all the services that my lawn required. No one showed up. Called them today again and got a new price (expensive) with limited services. Wasted my time. Would have done something about my lawn myself in these 9 days. There is no team work. The first staff member had different prices with different services than the second staff member I spoke to. Totally waste of time.

Tried Weed Man the past summer and it was a huge waste of money. Not only did they not ever get rid of the weeds on our lawn, but our entire front lawn is now dead due to grubs. We had never really had issues with weeds or grubs, but our lives became too busy to maintain the yard, so we decided to give them a try for the year. Now I have to replace my entire front lawn. Save yourself the headaches and just buy a spreader and good fertilizer and dont yourself.

I used weed man a few years ago. We cancelled because they kept not doing backyard because the fence was locked. I work from home and was always home when this happened. The reason I am leaving this review now is because they never stop calling. Even when I used their service they kept calling for me to get extra services which I did not want. Now they are still calling trying to get me back even though I asked them to take me off their list. Maybe this review will make them listen but probably not.

Tom and Caleb were very professional and did a wonderful and thorough job of spraying my lawn for weeds and offered some tips in regards to lawnmower height

Wonderful customer service all around. Couldn t be happier with my experience so far!

Our lawn had been watered from a lake irrigation system and was full of weeds (dandelions, crab grass and creeping charlie esp)., and had developed a number of bare spots. Despite personal attempts to apply herbicides, fertilize and overseed for two years, the lawn looked ragged. The full season service Weed Man has offered in combination with a wet spring has returned the lawn to a lush state. Some of the larger bare spots remain, but they are drastically reduced in size and the weeds are fewer in number and less healthy as they decline. We inquired about a second application of crab grass killer but were told the weeds may be quack grass or require longer service before the crab grass is destroyed. We plan on sticking with the Weed Mans service given the results to date. Moreover, the employees have been thoughtful and careful in their applications. .

Today I spoke to customer service guy and found him totally unprofessional in his behaviour. He was keen on speaking but reluctant to listen me. In the end he was so rude to put off my call. He made me worried to great extent. If Weedman is any more professional I hope this individual will not be on its role. I was forced to recall and a lady came on line. She spoke and listened in professional manner.

I called them for an estimate. The guy was talking fast like a robot and he gave me a quote. I told him to send everything in writing to my email. He promised to do it right away. Few hours later I called again and a woman answered. She said the email will come next day as thats the day when they send all emails. It passed a week and no email. They are not serious and everything looks like scam. They just try to fool people to buy their product without knowing what they are buying. A month later I saw a weed man crew at my neighbor across the street and I approached it.I spoke with Julien who took all my info and promised to email me a quote explaining the services and prices. Never happened. Clearly they do not want anything in writing. This happened after Derek posted bellow.

They were efficient in the applications of fertilizer and weed prevention sprayand careful around my garden areas.The questions I had were answered to my complete satisfaction. The jury is still out on the weed control. They come and reapply each time I call but the product seems to struggle eliminating the weeds. Ill decide at season end if it is successful

This is my 1st year with Weedman. My yard was in desperate need of repair and I started getting my first visit in July 2019. I am extremely satisfied with the result of both my front and back yard since the first application. The staff is very friendly and professional. Perform services you didnt agree to and then demand payment. We cancelled them several years ago and they tried to claim they performed lawn services this year and made numerous harassing phone calls to our home.

Im sorry Ive been using them, then I had yard make over. They were to call me back in the fall but never did so I reached out to them 2 weeks later they finally call me. Then theyre program has changed so much cant reach out to anyone very disappointed with this service. Not sure I want to deal with them anymore to much leg work for me to get answers.

It is my firs year with weed man. They are very diligent. If an application does not meet your expectations, the for sure give you another application with no cost. I will continue with weed man.

First off your quotes are false told 300 the n charged 337 now had 2 applications and now my grass looks worst then it started. Then I get a phone for grub control and it will ONLY be an extra 121 on top of my bill and then i ask question then proceed to ignore me and go on with there speel trying to get me to spend more money for my small front lawn. I get it your in the business to make money but to push your customer is wrong and now I am done with you guys sorry but this was my first season with you and will never use you guys again my lawn looks horrible and now i gotta fix it somehow thanks for nothing but taking my money

Great service. Always comes for resprays when needed to get rid of the tough ones. Crabgrass needs to be pulled! And it s gotten better every year. Price is reasonable and they solve my chinch bug problem every year. Aeration is a good price and I always reseed! That s the trick. Thanks Dennis our lawn has come along way since your team started taking care of it. We really appreciate it as we are hoping to sell soon.

After our first weed control spray i had left an unfavourable review. We saw no improvement and were not satisfied. However, i must now correct my review as The Weedman has come back, not once, but twice to rectify the issue. They are on top of it and the customer service has now been excellent.

Service is ok but I am cancelling their service as they simply do not stop calling. I mean 3-4 times a day, everyday. I just told them I m not interested in a service and less than 24 hours later, again... geez.....

This is my first year with Weed Man after using another weed control company last year. I have to say I m not impressed. I have more weeds in my yard then before I called them and now I have huge brown dead spots all over my yard. My neighbours have all been commenting on how terrible my yard looks this year. Brutal!

I hire them 4 years ago to get rid of the cryping Charlie, I call them every year asking why I still have it and his answer is that it takes time, really after four years?? I always do the treatments that they suggested. Now I have it everywhere:(

The most unreliable, unprofessional company Ive dealt with. They lie and steal from people trying to make an honest living and give nothing in return. After multiple messages of communication and pictures which prove they did not fulfil their part of the agreement, I refused to pay for services they did not do. A month later we get a letter from collections. My neighbours warned me, unfortunately I didnt listen. Please do yourself a favour and do not hire them. These are the pictures, to show the burnt holes they left all over my lawn. I will definitely be taking these to the Ministry of Environment as well.
