They don t date their tags. So anyone that walks on a commercial property has to go inside and inquire on their work order that was left before letting their kids or pets on the grass. It takes 2 seconds to write the date on the tag so everyone easily knows when they were there. I called them to recommend this and the lady was extremely rude and said I ve been here 39 years and we ve never done that and won t start now. I ve worked for 2 different fertilizer companies and was always required to do so. Such an easy and fast thing to do to keep pets and children safe from chemicals and they refuse to do so.

Trugreen has been caring for our trees and shrubs for years now. They are very careful and aware of the bees and not using insecticide this time of year. Its been very beneficial for our trees and shrubs.

Personable service and willing to correct issues with previous treatments.

Ive used this company for years. I have never gotten the same tech. For my fertilizer applications. I have to be home to discuss how I would like them to do their job to get what I want. They unload the equipment run to get the fertilizer on and are gone 30 min. The grass greens up for a week maybe two then goes back to looking like I dont fertilize it. If I am home and speak with them and tell them to slow down while applying the fertilizer it looks great until they come again. They were just here two weeks ago and my yard could use another feeding. Same old same old.

When you call the traverse City office to get a quote, youll be connected to a sales call service somewhere in the US. It is impossible to get ahold of a person at that location. The sales person was polite but aggressive. My yard is about an 1/8 of an acre, not real big. I received a price of $800 for 6 visits, 2 in the spring, 2 in summer and 2 in the fall. And when I didnt bite he started to offer me discounts. I tried to explain to him again that had to remove a1/3 of my lawn do to moss and replanting in a couple days so I couldnt make a decision till talking with my wife and that I thought it was expensive for my small yard. So this sales person figured it was a dead end call and hung up on me. Now Im getting texts and calls daily. When you cant talk to a real person at a business, thats any business they have something to hide... Stay away! Btw to the so called owner that responds to these reviews, text me and leave your local TC number so I can contact you... Look at the response from the so called owner. Out of everything I wrote, all the owner got out of it is the overwhelming phone calls. Take a look at all the Facebook groups about truGreen Traverse city. Its all bad for the company.

Service was good. He wasn t told to apply grub control until he arrived at our home. They need better communication from their office.

We had Andrew S service our yard today and he did great! He noticed that I just put down new seed and made sure to come talk to me to inform me of the service that was to be done today, he also let me know that the service would kill the new seed. He asked what I wanted to do, I could either reschedule or he would just put fertilizer down to help the new seed that I put down. I chose to have the fertilizer put down. He also went around with a spot treatment jug for weeds and only put it in areas that I didn t just spread the new grass seed. Just the fact that he didn t apply the normal treatment and go on with his day and instead came and spoke to me and gave me options is the biggest reason I m leaving this review. I truly hope that he is my permanent TrueGreen specialist! Fantastic job, knowledge and professionalism.

The hose broke and sprayed chemicals all over our driveway and cars. It doesn t come off with water and the guys who did it didn t even apologize or let us know. We saw it happen through the window and heard the employee curse and then leave. We called the company for help removing the chemicals stains they left behind and the man on the phone was rude, unhelpful, and told us to wash it ourselves.

Devon and Kelly walked around the property with me and together we identified concerns. They offered lawn maintenance suggestions and provided a thorough lawn service to meet the needs of my lawn. Thank you.

Dont do it! Dont fill out the form on the web site, not even partially. You will be bombarded with copious amounts of phone calls all day, every day. I partially filled out the form and then stopped at the point where I knew I was not going to see online pricing. Didnt matter, the calls started almost immediately the next morning. I finally picked up and spoke with someone, at the end asked they call back in mid-April when timing would be better for me. Almost immediately, get another call, said I already spoke to someone and since I am at work, ended the call. Next morning, get another call... what the hell? Told that person I am no longer interested and take me off their lists and hung up. An hour later, get another call which I hung up during his introduction. No mean no, and in this case no now means NEVER! They also call from area codes all over the country, I cant even screen to make them stop as my home address is in MI, work address is in NY and my clients are in 4 states -- I have to pick up calls in those area codes. Do yourself a favor. There are a number of choices in this space to take care of your lawn. Pick someone else.

I use true green for two homes I had a problem with getting bill paid

Billed me after I paid in full. Didn t notify me when they were coming so my pets were outside during treatment.

15 calls in under 12 hours, after I requested they stop calling me on the 3rd call. Allegedly I was put on the do not call list yet the calls keep pouring in. Screw this company and their ridiculous sales calls.

Things are coming up green

Tru-Green Williamsburg treated our neighbors lawn, sent us the bill, and threatened to send us to collections. After several calls and threats to contact the BBB, they finally voided the bill but still put the blame on us and never acknowledged it was their mistake.

This business has called my personal and work number multiple times and the majority of those calls end with dead air on the other end or a hang-up. I have called to have my numbers put on their DO NOT CALL List and, just like many others commenting, Im still getting multiple calls. When I did call to have my number removed, both times it took 5+ minutes to just pull up their portal! Dont even bother with this company if this is how they treat non-customers.

It was fine for the last 3 years, this year was the worst service ever, they sprayed my neighbors place instead of mine and one girl who called me when she was there said they dont spray if there is no house on the property, funny they have done it for the last 3 years, so i canceled my service, would not recommend your services to anyone.

So far they have not done what they said. Hard to get ahold of the local company. Just a company that gets paid to not know what they are doing. UPDATE! True Green came again today and not only sprayed the wrong yard, they sprayed my neighbors yard. TrueGreen, I would like all my money returned to my credit card. What a joke.

The products are excellent but as in every business, it is the individual employees that make it or break it.

For the most part they do a very good job, their customer service handles any issues you will have.

What s up with the Williamsburg, MI location?!? We have had TruGreen for several years and on our third application, they did NOT show up, but we were billed anyways!! When I called to ask why, I was told OOPS, they had fertilized someone else s yard!! How can that be?!? We are still at the same address!! They did come out the next week!! I had paid for the first app, but after not receiving a bill for the last 2, I sent Williamsburg a check with all info for the 2nd and third apps Aug. 3rd. Check still has NOT cleared! Memphis has been helpful, but I cannot get in touch with anyone in Williamsburg!! Is there anybody out there ?!? Owners of Williamsburg You are going to lose a lot of business if you continue to operate this way!! Read the reviews!!

HORRIBLE FAILED TO TKE CARE IF ISSUES EVEN WHEN CALLED SEVERAL TIMES FOR CONCERNS.

All that I checked.

Despite promising service within 7 to 10 business days, it took over a month to get aeration service after prepayment. The date promised changed three times by the call center. The downloaded app showed no service scheduled at all. Technician arrived unannounced this morning. I guess were supposed to wait all day. He didnt bother mark the sprinkler heads as promised. He said he can spot them pretty well. He has x ray vision? After I marked the heads, he still missed a big strip down the center of the side lawn. Went to tell him, but he was already driving away. First and last time using this service.

Good general weed control service but requires calling them back for specific weed control issues that arise each year.

NOT BBB valid, they have 1 star with the BBB! Technicians lie and cut corners, would on they try to get in and out as fast as possible by not spraying the backyard. I used the service for two years with promises to get rid of my weeds..... still have weeds and will never use their service again. Their products just dont work. Even after you cancel they will try to charge you for services not rendered and if you dont pay they send you to collections.

The service was quick, reasonably priced and it makes my lawn the best looking one in the neighborhood

If you have a good technician everything is great.. but I prepaid last season and had numerous no shows for scheduled appointments. Also when some one did show up for them half the time they did the bare minimum work were here and gone very quickly.. the technicians that did a good job used over 5 gals and the ones who didnt used 2 or under just to give an idea of the difference.

TruGreen over promises and under delivers! I could write a small thesis on the challenges Ive had trying to get the service promised. Suffice it to say that choosing this company was a big mistake. In order not to commit liable... I will not detail the litany of excuses I received, the promised calls I did not get, and oh, if youre a business customer, their answering service doesnt respond to calls or emails on the weekend. Dont do business with this local group - pathetic!

Lied about what I would get in the package I bought. It was to include oveseeding (grass seed) Thats the only reason why I bought a package to begin with. Also The technician that came out only did 3/4 of the yard I have a ring doorbell I can see what he did update : new tech came back finished job and explained overseeding process to me hopefully next time I see them will be a better experience update again Continued poor service fired

Called TrueGreen for a quote. Got a quote and was higher then expected. Told the sales guy that I got a cheaper quote from another company and he instantly took like $100 off but it was still higher then the other quote I had from another company and told him thank you for your time but i will be passing. I HAD TO BLOCK THE SALES GUYS NUMBER! He called me 8 times within an hour of time. After telling him no thanks multiple times and finally I just had to block the number. Lost all respect for true green. My dad used them for many years and lost interest after my issue with the sales guy.

We read some poor reviews but seemed like more good reviews so gave them a shot due to the coupon in the mail. Day 1 - good. The person showed up on time. Day 2 - not only did the person not show up but it seems they reported they completed the work. Would not recommend.

I have called multiple times with issues and the last time with a promise that a supervisor will contact me in 48 hours. Finally, I was contacted almost a week later. I was on the line and couldn t take the call. The supervisor left a message with no extension. I had to start at the beginning. I was on the phone for greater than 30 minutes. I received corporates number , dialed it and it connected me to the same number where I wait forever and everyone is working from home and is unable to get me a supervisor!!!

I have been told on multiple occasions that I would be getting a phone call the day before services so that I could prepare my yard and make sure all of my pets were in the house. Once again they show up with no phone call. I have also said that I only want the services I get done on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. They showed up today and it s Tuesday and I didn t receive my phone call telling Me that they would be here. Guess what TruGreen you have gone to my house for the last time!!! I will be finding a different company!!!! You guys can t follow my simple instructions. Over it!!!!

This company provided me a customer service experience to rival a cable company. We called them because we had a moss problem in our yard. They said they could help us and we prepaid for a year of service with some add-ons. When we paid for service we discussed wanting to reseed the areas that had the moss first thing in the spring. We also explained that we knew selling in the fall is better but we wanted it seeded ASAP and then we could seed again in the fall in the areas that did not fill in. The local guy showed up while we where not home and sprayed our yard with a weed bock that stops germination for at least 5 weeks. When we got home and saw that they had been there we called to find out exactly what they sprayed and what they were going to do about the moss. It took almost two weeks and a half dozen phonecalls to find out the actual information. Each rep that we talked to on the phone gave us differing information. When we finally talked to the local office they were very helpful and told us to rake out there moss and they would not spray the weed block on the next visit but simply fertilize, then we could seed the lawn in July. While this was helpful, it was a surprise to us that what the sales rep meant by helping us was simply telling us what we can do. I would not have paid for their service if I had known that as I know how to Google. While we were away, they showed up again and sprayed the weed block again. Now we cannot reseed until August. The note he left told us that we had a patchy yard and we should reseed in the fall. I dont think any conversation you have with these people matters. They will do what their paper says and nothing you say is going to ever going to make it into the file so the guy that actually does the work never knows what has been discussed and agreed upon. In the meantime, their sales team keeps calling to sell us more services and telling us how good their customer service is. Each time we express our dissatisfaction they say that a service manager will contact us and they never do. It took 4 phone calls to get to someone that could cancel us, but tonight I cancelled the service and requested a full refund of all services. I was told that a service manager would contact me as they could not refund us. I am not very hopeful that I will get my money back as it seems like they are really only good at spraying weed block, selling their service, and telling everyone how good their customer service is.

In the fall of 2017 a guy stopped at our cottage in Bellaire, MI and informed us he could get rid of the nasty broad leaf weeds growing in our yard. He had inspected our yard without our knowledge. We have wanted the weeds eliminated so on his assurance theyd ride the place of them we signed up for I believe the 6 applications he recommended and paid him on the spot. Fast forward to Spring of 2018. All the weeds are still in our lawn and we get an email that states we owe another $106 for applications we did not want or approve. Called the number in the email and explained what occurred for which I was told I still had to pay. Not a good conversation followed so I ended the conversation. Googled and called the Tru Green out of Williamsburg to find out why they provided services I did not want or request. Ended up in a call center in some other state but this time the lady listened and was understanding that what was done was wrong. She wiped the charges off, which was the right things to do. Come to find out there is very small print that state Tru Green will continue applications, even if you have not approved or want them, if you do not proactively let them know you want them to stop. Interestingly, the sales people do not let you know this. Still have the weeds I paid Tru Green to get rid. In the end I got a Tru Green Rip-off! Buyer beware!

I was approached by a female by the name of Jill, for mosquito services. (From the Grand Traverse Branch) The level of warm professionalism she showed forth was incredible! She explained clearly how the services work, what to do if I m unsatisfied, broke everything down so knowledgeably! I ve been offered services from TruGreen before but either didn t feel I was taken very seriously from the male staff, and was unimpressed with the lack of forth enthusiasm from trugreens female employees. Jill on the other hand, had treated me as if we known each other for ever, so friendly, so patient in hearing my questions and concerns, and very re-assuring the decision for lawn care through trugreen would be something I valued, for not only my yard but family as well. TruGreen, you have a very dedicated and hard working gem!

A small problem has now become a crusade to speak to someone at trugreen Williamsburg. I have an issue with failure to do the work agreed to on my contract. I have been assured someone would be in touch with me for 3 full days now each time with a sincere apology and promise I will get a call by the end of the day and when I call back towards the end of the day, it will be first thing the next day . I just called at 4:40 PM and was told they were likely gone for the day even though their website claims they are open until 7:00PM. I would give 0 stars if it was possible.

Im giving Trugreen of Traverse City, Mi Lawn Care and Fertilization company 1 star because of their bogus 5 star reviews. 6 out of 6 reviews are the exact same review word for word with different names attached to each of them! Then another section has 3-3 reviews with the same exact reviews but with different names! If you want 5 star reviews, Steve, please make sure they are earned and legit. My 13 star 5 star reviewed company, MowsquitoTech, each has its own unique review and are actually all different. I believe Trugreen did this just to try and be the lawn care company with the most reviews so they would pop up on top when one hits highest rated on the google tab. I will change my review when I get a thorough and honest explanation of identical reviews with different names. Most of these reviews were also suspiciously posted at or around the exact same time as others. When I get an honest and thorough explanation for this or the duplicate reviews have been taken down, I will raise my review out of respect for the change of heart in having integrity and honesty to do what is right. Used their Mosquito Control service, and it was amazing. I can finally play outside around the house and not have to punch hundreds of mosquitos...will use this every year!
