The National office was very pushy in trying to upsell me additional lawn services. I had to say NO 5 different times. I even asked them why I they made me say NO so many times. So then they put their supervisor on the phone and he reread the same sales pitch. Had to say NO a 6th time. They do not listen to what I (the cuatomer) is saying. (This review is completely separate from the technicial who came to my house, we are happy with him)

I wanted to follow up with you about the mosquito services I received today from Justin Thomas (Employee ID 78616). Despite my previous concerns and meeting with the manager last week, Justin took the time to thoroughly address my needs and provided exceptional service. Although I was told that the presence of many trees around my house might limit the effectiveness of the treatment and probably it will be better to cancel the mosquito service , Justins efforts have given me hope for a positive outcome. If I do experience improvements, I would like to keep the service and request Justin for all future mosquito services .

If i could give a negative 5 star review I would. Garbage company, garbage customer service. I was approached by a representative in my driveway and told that if I signed up for a package that they have a weed free guarantee and would continue spraying until I had no weeds. I had to battle them for free re-sprays, and paid for multiple different services on top of that. After 8 months of continuous service my yard now looks worse than it did when they started, I actually have never seen before . After telling a regional manager this, I was told that she is a customer for years and that they in fact have no such guarantee and that she still battles weeds in her own yard. Stay away, Ive used spray from Lowes thats worked better.

I canceled my service last year, because of poor service ,today I was glad to see Charles S back in our area. Charles consistently provides excellent professional service !

We really appreciate having a service to look after our property on a regular basis. Our trees and shrubs are doing very well. George Stephens is knowledgeable, thorough, and happy to answer questions.

It s a 1 in 5 chance they will show up when scheduled, if you can get scheduled. Never prepay. The scheduling has been such a mess for years now. Scheduling while there is snow on the ground to gaps of 9-10 weeks between treatments and then they try forcing in billable services at the end of the season. The Wilkes-Barre branch is open in spite of itself.

I have 4 dogs and asked that they close our gate when they leave. They left our gate open 2xs. I only realized my dogs were running in the street when they triggered my security cameras. One of my dogs is a pit bull, she is sweet as can be but looks frightening. We also live next to a major highway so they put all 4 of my dogs at risk of a multitude of bad things happening. After being told that it would never happen again it happened again for the 3rd time. So I am done!! I will never use this company again because I can not trust them to be responsible. I will use a smaller company that appreciates their customer s concerns.

My grass looks great

TRUGREEN showed up at 8:30AM. Service person rang doorbell and proceeded to provide paperwork. I was in not properly dressed. After putting on my clothes, 5 minutes, service person was gone. I was getting dressed to open the pool area gate,which is my main concern. Not only did he not do the pool area, he did not do the back area beyond the pool. Could have alerted me as to the back gate being locked5, I was here. 5 minutes.

Very happy with service specialist Tawanna Brown. She is very professional and makes sure that the entire lawn is treated properly. She answers all questions and explains just what to expect from the treatment and what I can do to help my lawn as well.

Easy service

We went with TruGreen, because they seem to be a well established service for Lawn. The only problem is, I had asked for the lawn to be aerated back in the middle of April, and they said that they would not do it at that time. So they just added fertilizer and pre-emergent weed control. So far I don t see any improvement in our lawn, however, that might be due to some dry weather weather. So I can t really give an honest appraisal at this point in time I just know that I wish they had been more cooperative and doing the aeration when I asked so that we could ve gotten a fertilizer down into the roots of the grass when we did have some rain. Hopefully we ll see some improvement if we get some rain, but so far. I would just raise the service is average. They come out when I m not home and say they re spread down fertilizer. Did they. I don t know. Perhaps. No problem though. We ll see what happens.

The service guy was nice

I get called consistently to tell me that the technician spotted a significant insect infestation, namely wood mites, aphids, and Japanese beetles on my trees and shrubs. I have no such infestation and as soon as I make the caller aware they immediately hang up. I also get multiples calls for mosquito treatment. I do not live near standing water and I have asked them to stop calling trying to sell me more product but the calls continue. I will not be renewing my service next year.

Love the new technician, when she arrives she rings the bell to make sure the dogs are secure and reiterates about the safety of the pets after they sprayed mosquito defense and other chemicals. Nice change from the old person who used to come.

We wanted a aeration and overseeding service for our front yard only. I spoke to buddy who practically swore to me he would do it the following year himself, if we signed up for all there lawn care services for the next 9 - 12 months or so. We did, and he gave us a discount. a year went by or so - they did all the lawn care services we had to do - they tried to sell us extra stuff which we did not want, and when it came time to do the aeration and seeding ( THE ONLY THING I ACTUALLY WANTED ) - we were left a note that our services were to TRIPLE in price. I emailed in and said I did not want to pay 3 times as much - they wrote back - YOUR CANCELLED and of course we didnt get what we wanted and wasted another bunch of money on services that we didnt want or need, and yard looks worse than the year before. Huge waste. Dont fall for the trickery.

Frustrated with lack of grass growth

Trugreen has trained its employees to be professional and responsible. They do an excellent job and I really depend on them for my landscape therapy. Without their care, the grass on my landscape couldnt thrive or look as healthy as it does. So I would recommend it to everyone including my friends and family. Thank you Trugreen.

I would love to keep this short and to the point, but it all blends together with pros and cons. My wife & I purchased our first home 2 years ago, we were excited to have an acre of property with lots and trees and grass. We immediately began exterior property work by cutting down 8 pine trees in the front, stump grinding, 10 bushes removed, 2 tri-axles of topsoil, hundreds of pounds of grass seed, excavators. The whole 9 yards. -We got 5,000 square feet of grass to grow with some bald spots out front. -Hired Tru-Green after the woman on the phone told me I can see your property we have our own satellites, not google earth, i see what and where your concerns are Learned This was incorrect. -Discounted price for lawn and mosquitoes to $1500 from June 2021 - October 2021 to handle lawn and mosquito chemicals and fertilizers. -Told us the $1500 total cost was divided by 12 months, it wasn t. $100 here $500 there $78 for this $125 for that. -$499 TO aerate and over-seed (not included in $1500 plan) 10,000 square feet of grass growing property. Took them only 20 minutes and they used like 25 pounds of grass seed. Missed 30% of property & 1 bag of seed per 10,000 doesn t seem over-seeded. Had them back 3 times to get it right. -Did not dethatch lawn. Prior to or even after aeration. Not even offered. We were told that it is time consuming. Lawn to this day has thick dead under growth. -Never once addressed the moss that s 60 feet long and 15 feet wide out back. This one of our big-to-do for them. -constant calls for grub control, some tree killings insect, pest, iron, calcium, and other treatments for an extra up charge. We did some of them and paid. - one guy from tru green called and actually to sell me some treatment and I told him my concerns, and we are basically wasting money on this. He said I ll have them come back & fix issues because call backs are free and included in the $1500. Plus he gave us a post-emergent treatment on the lawn for free. It was End of season so we accepted that Instead of trying to get a little refund. Turns out. NOT FREE. We got a bill for that. Tired to explain to billing guy on phone the treatment at the end was comped To us. Said he would look into it. All he did was as send to collection. Hell didn t care, either didn t the first guy. - I feel like the people who call will say anything to get you to add extras or start a service. -Most of the workers are great to talk to. Most of them take pride in their job and your lawn. -The mosquito fogging guys are spot on they get it done and done right. That seemed to work. Think it was $99 each monthly treatment. Was part of the $1500 plan. -last time they were here was October of 2021. Still had the original bald spots and moss, which was the main reason we called. Every day I walk by the bald spot and it pisses me off. Honeslty, we were going to have them back this year. We were going to give it a second chance and let them get it right. Once we received a collection letter for $178 after being told that post- emergent treatments were free to us to make up for all the issues. And after paying the whole plan balance and all their extra up charges without issue. We feel like we are just another address and up charge to them. So damn disgusted. We were so excited. - It s not the guys in the field it s the damn people who call. Seems like they could care a less, and proof is in the details.

We have been customers of TruGreen for nearly 25 years (beginning with the company when it was ChemLawn), so it is shocking that I would even have to compose a review of this nature. It is difficult to express how very disappointed I am with the service that we have received in the past year. Without going into specific date by date details, we essentially pre-pay for yearly lawn service in order to optimize scheduling and servicing, with the ultimate goal of having a beautiful lawn. It is understandable in a pandemic there will be some challenges, but our experience is beyond that simple explanation. In short, instead of following an evenly dispersed schedule of applications, TruGreen bookended treatments in late spring, skipped the summer time altogether (which is prime-time for the lawn), and doubled up on treatments in November when snow was on the ground! How that was even possible to execute is beyond me. My surrounding neighbors who use competitors services are currently cutting lush, green lawns and Im looking at brown, dead grass scratching my head. I am simply beside myself. I never would have imagined I would be treated so poorly after 25 years of loyal patronage. You should be ashamed of yourself TruGreen. Embarrassing and Unacceptable.

They work with you to get things right. Changing my review. Use them last year for my mothers house. They would leave something on the door saying they were there she would never see them llawn didnt look any better than when they started. Now this year they took it on their own to go over and spread it on. Without asking if we wanted it done. And charge me for it without even asking my permission. Wouldnt recommend them

For over two years, the local TruGreen office in Wilkes-Barre PA has been a disaster. The only way to get what is supposed to be automatically scheduled service is to call and speak to multiples of Customer Service Reps, who open cases, forward to Supervisors, escalate, etc.. NEVER once has anyone from the local office called to address the issue. The most recent slap in the face was an email saying that they had tried to reach me by phone which they did not do. How bad is it? Last year a Sr. VP at Corporate called me (and others) because of the multitudes of complaints they received about this office from a large number of customers. It is NOT the techs.. They are excellent when they get to you. The scheduling system is a disaster and just does not work.

TrueGreen was at our home for a total of 12 minutes. In all that time he supposedly sprayed 29.99 gallons of fertilizer and 10.05 gallons of weed control. Our cameras have him in our ~1 acre backyard for a total of 4 minutes. There is no way he completed the work he said he did. While putting the paperwork on our front door he then proceeded to look inside our windows. Completely inappropriate.

We have been customers for about 15 years or more In the beginning it was great are lawn was beautiful but over the last few years it s been horrible I call and report my problems as they ask you to they are very nice and promise you a date to return but always seems to get cancelled This year is our final year with them I am looking for a new service I have weeds some as big as cabbage and vines running through my grass I think we have every weed you can think if in our grass We have our lawn thatched yearly by our landscapers This year is the last straw

I had a dirt yard with a half a dozen weeds a a blade of grass, Tru Green treated my yard and within 2 weeks I had near a full yard of grass, by there 2nd treatment the grass was thicker than any sod I ever saw. Unbelievable.

Don t say do t check with my husband just do it now #3 don t lie and be respectful #4 do not I mean do not believe this company They are all liars you can never talk to anyone in your area And they take your personal info I never even had them at my house. I have used them in the past and they could not control the weeds on my lawn despite multiple inspections and analyses. Since I have changed lawn care companies, I have been HARASSED DAILY by Trugreen. They call my house EVERY DAY despite my telling then not to call. If you sign up with Trugreen, do not give them a working phone number.

I SIGNED UP AND FLEA AND TICK SPRAY SERVICE AND PREPAID THE FIRST MONTH. I DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM ANYONE TO SET UP A DATE AFTER A WEEK SO I CALLED AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME LATER IN THE DAY AND THAT I WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT DAY. NO ONE CALLED ME AND NO ONE HAS SHOWED UP. I WANT A FULL REFUND AND OF COURSE, I WANT TO CANCEL ANY FURTHER SERVICES. SEEMS LIKE A SCAM TO ME!

I signed up for one year contract after my first service I received texts from three different sales managers stating that my technician reached out to them to let me know that he noticed insects on my shrubs and trees I was out there with the technician from the minute he got there he never looked at my shrubs or trees and never said anything to me his report even said did not notice any insects but yet the sales managers were trying to sell me something that I didn t need horrible horrible company

One of the worst experiences Ive had. They oversell and underdeliver. I signed up in early April for Lawn and Pest control services. The first pest control service wasnt completed until late July, and that was after several calls and threatening to cancel. When they finally did come to complete it they didnt do it correctly and had to be called back out. After speaking with a sales member about these issues I was offered a discounted third product and subsequently had multiple issues having it done. At one point they claimed to complete it in two minutes while parked down the street. I tried to work with some of the sales staff who were very friendly and apologetic, but even they couldnt get these issues resolved. I eventually had to cancel all of my remaining services, and even that wasnt handled correctly. I would highly recommend you use another service provider.

We originally stayed with Scott s and then of course Tru green took over. Have been a customer for 8 years spending approximately 12-15K on our lawn. Every year we prepay and every year we say we are not getting them back bc we always have to call them to do the services. Well now the gentleman that was in this office has left and he would always be on top of things and be sure we we happy. So our last treatment was June 23 I had to make a call Monday and was promised they would be on our property by Friday. Of course that did not happen! Made another call today now waiting for a call from a manager. Lots of promises and do not follow through on any! They don t have a problem taking our $1000 prepaying but you can t get them out for service. Our grass is filled with crabgrass now. We should have the best lawn in the area They do this every year now 3 treatments left and they will come out and do them at last minute. Have never seen such bad customer service! This will be our last year no more chances. Feel like we are flushing the money down the toilet.

Garbage customer service. They never show up to do service and have no problem stringing you along lying to you saying you are on schedule for a certain day. My last service was June 2nd and it is now September and they have literally lied to me 8 times that I have called for service. Very unprofessional and not a good business model. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

My before and after photos. The photo on the left was taken October 9th. Then, after a treatment by TRU Green, several large burnt spots appeared. I previously took care of my own lawn but thought maybe the professionals can improve upon it. I was wrong. I can t wait until this contract is over so I can go back to my own routine where my lawn looked great.

It took two years to bring it back to health, but it happened. Well worth the modest investment in a playground for grandchildren and a bright spot of curb appeal. Had to call both services back out, dod not even do my back yard. There is a disconnect between the 800 number and the people who service you. 2and time they came out still did not service back yard.

So the true green guy walks around my yard in three minutes and says that he spread 12 pounds of fertilizer with a handheld spreader That was a lie and they had to come back and do it again properly. On the very next visit, Seth drags a hose from the truck and walks around my yard and then put the hose back and leaves a little ticket that says he sprayed for crabgrass and spread fertilizer 12 pounds. The man didn t even take the spreader out of the truck, so they lied to me twice the first time I forgave them the second time.. I don t think so. So check your guys and make sure that they re doing what they say they re doing because my guy wasn t.. twice.

Tru Green always notifies me when service is coming. Servicemen always announced themselves or leave a message if you re not at home. More important, my lawn was about 70% weeds and infestation with grub bugs has now improved to 80-85%. If you have any issues, the representative will make suggestions and/or send advisor over to check what are your concerns and discuss a plan of treatment. It s winter now but my friends who have used them for years, told Me to wait till next spring and summer when I will notice a lush lawn . I used the TruHealth Lawn Plan. Moreover, the mosquito plan is excellent, also. I rate them 5 stars

The young man you sent to my house for the first application, Kevin Warren, was very professional, very knowledgeable and MOST importantly, very kind. He explained everything while standing in the rain and preparing his equipment. Didn t rush and explained everything so I could understand it. I hope he comes every time. A credit to TruGreen.

Signed up online for a free estimate. I was looking for a yearly service plan. I had 2 missed calls from them on EASTER SUNDAY when I was spending time with my family. I called them back and reminded them it was a holiday and I asked them politely to call back during the week. Then they called me again about an hour later.... I refuse to do business with a company that does not respect my request to stop PESTERING me on a major holiday....

Be very careful with this company. They called and told us the cost would be a certain amount of the phone. I specifically discussed with the sales associate what needs to be covered. When the technician showed up, he was unprepared for the amount of property needed to be covered. Cost would be 3X what was originally quoted over the phone. Two other companies in the local area are at least $50 lower per application. Spoke with a local manager who offered me a third (3rd) price, even higher than the technician that was here onsite. So, brand new customer, three different prices. Wasted my time and effort on this company - dont get caught up in this same boat. UPDATE: TruGreen called me in June to attempt to resolve this problem. They offered me another deal and advised that the local team must provide service. After six (6) missed attempts from TruGreen, the GM of this branch Dale contacted me directly to advise he cant do it for this price. He cancelled my service once again, but it took over 2 months June - August to get to this point. Meanwhile he blames the head office. Beware, this is no way to run a business. Other company is more than willing to do this for less than TruGreen at the end of the day. My advise: shop around and make sure they dont do a bait and switch on you.

Worked on Hvac unit

Since being with Trugreen, our lawn has improve a lot. This was a new lawn ( just built the house ) and I was struggling to get it going. Not only is it going but it looks great. We get a lot of compliments on how nice it looks. We have also noticed an improvement on our shrubs since going with that plan. I wasnt sure at first if that was going to be worth it but it has since proved to be a good investment. The specialists that come here are superb. They will do anything asked and are extremely friendly and polite.

I love the way my lawn looks in the summer. We dont hvae to worry about weeds or dandalions. Very healthy looking lawn that makes my home & property look great.Very Happy with True Green Results!!

Customer service for this company location is beyond deplorable. There is no direct contact numbers for management and or customer service (what does this tell you about a company). They utilize a National Call Center and no one there has a clue about the company and or its services! I initiated services on June 6. It has been a fiasco ever since. I have two properties that are attached but with separate house numbers. They told me they would need to be two different accounts and serviced at different times, that there would be no guarantee that they would be treated at the same time. I live at least 1 hr 15 mins away, so does it make sense to send someone out twice when you are already here! Because of the two accounts, one property has been neglected and the other over treated. There have been four different technicians, one of which completely neglected to treat a portion of my property, then to say he didnt know it was mine! I have left repeated messages with customer service both online and by phone, to no avail. I canceled my service due to the frustration and lack of professionalism and organization on June 11 with a guarantee that I would receive an email confirming that the services were canceled for both properties, and I would receive a refund in 3-5 business days. Needless to say, that never happened. A technician showed up today, 7/14 in the pouring rain to treat one of my properties, because he was told to service. Seriously, how can they survive as a business. I know I cannot be the only client customer with a complaint. I can honestly say that it is not the technicians for the most part, it is management and customer service. Please investigate thoroughly before dealing with this company, especially the Scranton/Wilkes Barre, PA facility. Disheartened that someone built this phenomenal business and company and poor management is destroying it!

LAST TREATMENT 7-11-17 TERRIBLE ! LOOS LIKE BURNT AREAS AND STILL WAITING SINCE FRIDAY 7-14-17 FOR A GM TO CALL BACK OR COME UP HERE

The product works well and I dont have to worry about putting it down. The only thing is I had questions about the product and what it kills but I have talked to 3 different people and got 3 different answers. Either way, the lawn looks great.

Better than Grasshopper Service I had last couple of years! Grass is greener, customer service is 10x better!! Will keep using them!

I moved here a year ago and the lawn looked terrible. It is looking so much better and I am sure by next season it will look as great as my neighbors. The people who work for true green are very professional and very courteous. I am very pleased with the service and very glad that I signed up for the treatments. I will definitely be a return customer.

Alan is professional, friendly & always takes the time to answer my questions & fully resolve any problems or concerns. Alan is one of the reasons I am very pleased with & remain with Trugreen. Thank You Alan! In addition, I am on a fixed income & must continually make difficult budgeting decisions. For that reason I very much appreciate when Trugreen holds my price if I pay in advance for a full year of service. This means a lot!
