Ed, of Max's Repair recently repaired/tunes-up mt 17 year old lawn mower and runs like new! Ed is efficient, focused, wastes No time.. presonable, reasonable cost, offered helpful suggestons and, Best of all, came to my home for the job.
Ed does awesome work. And I trust him to only do the necessary work at a very reasonable price. This is the second time I have used his services. As was noted in other reviews the reason it is called "Max's..." is that there used to be an Ed's Small Engine in Westmont so the name was already taken. Ed comes to you and fixes your equipment so the hassle is minimal and there is no real delay like many small engine shops.
Ed came out today and did maintenance on my riding, push and snow blower. He is a very nice and knowledge guy. He gave me advice I didn't even think of. Fair rates. I am beyond pleased. Do him a favor, get your snowblower maintained before it does in below zero temps. Wish I could rate him 10 stars!
I can see why Ed is so busy! He listens very carefully to your needs. Then drives to your house and provides expert repair/service work in a cordial fashion. Ed serviced my John Deere riding mower that I received from a neighbor who's moving who had never had it serviced in 5 years of ownership. Ed had all the needed filters and parts and was done in less than an hour charging a very reasonable price. Then he instructed me on some features of the mower I hadn't known before. I will definitely be having Ed back.
At one of his busiest times of year I called Max because my mower wasn't working. Max returned my call in a timely fashion and couldn't have been more pleasant on the phone. We made an appointment for two days later. Max arrived a bit early for the appointment, quickly diagnosed the problem and then fixed it without delay. He suggested ideas on how to best take care of and use the mower. His price was very fair. I have nothing but praise for Max. I'll use his services again if I need them and will definitely recommend him to others.
I couldn't believe the ratings on Google and Yelp, but I called Ed and he was at my home in Clarendon Hills within 10 mins and had my mower running within another 10 mins. Very reasonable pricing too. He was very helpful and gave me a bunch of information about maintaining the mower and provided snow blower suggestions too.
Ed came to our house to service our lawn mower. He was on time and very professional. It was fast and we did not have to haul the mower and wait for a week to get it done. Highly recommend Max's Mobile.
Great service. My wouldn't start, so I called around and most places were one or two week waits. I'd called Max's Mobile and left a message, five minutes later he called back, ten minutes after that he was working on my mower. He's honest, prices are fair, and he does good work!! Highly recommended.

The veteran technician Ed helped our 1970 CASE tractor run and hum. He did an awesome job and was very detailed. He made a house call. I would highly recommend him.
Came as planned for pre-season check which went well. When a problem developed on the first time I used my snowblower thereafter, while I couldnt get it started Ed came the next day to get it running and offered good advice on how to keep it working for the rest of the winter. Too bad after this year he said he will be focused exclusively on warm weather engines like those for lawn mowers!
Although I was out of the service area. Ed asked what was going on with the snowblower. He gave me a couple tips over the phone and voila! The snowblower is working again.

Second time Im using this gentleman. Came to the house at 8 am on a Saturday (this morning), fixed three different things on the lawn mower, perfect job, some good advice on upkeep, done quickly and efficiently. And Id only called him last night. Cant beat this.
Called Max this morning to see if he traveled to Beecher Illinois to service our lawn tractor. Unfortunately he said he did not go that far but asked if he could possibly help diagnose the problem over the phone. He spoke to my husband for quite a while asking questions and working with him on possible solutions. We highly recommend Maxs Mobile Small Engine. Very impressed!
Max showed up the next day, and not only fixed my lawn mower wee, but taught me how to take care of it, topped off the oil, replaced the filter. He comes right to your place too!

My 4 year old Toro blew out just when I need to cut the grass. Called other small engine repair places and was not satisfied with their customer service and delivery time. So I called Ed at Small engine repair. Ed came out the next day, diagnosted the problem and had it fixed in an hour. And right in my drive-way. Outstanding service. Friendly conversation, reasonable price and really tuned up and serviced my lawn mower. I cant say enough good things about him.
Excellent service! Called Ed and he was at my house in 15 minutes. He made the repairs to my snow blower in about an hour and I was able to watch the repair as he talked me through the trouble shooting process. Very friendly! Highly recommended!

Maxs Mobile came out ON TIME, like right on the dot @ 9AM doorbell rang; still in my PJs. He fixed my tractors flat tire in no time at all and I had him look at my snowblower before the snow got here and this guy did a bang up job and he definitely left me questionless; he explained it all. And the cool thing was that he was honest and explained it all without using fancy jargon for the inexperienced person like myself. I gotta go cut the lawn now, call Maxs Mobile.
