We are beyond happy and loving our landscape design by Peter Hogarty from Hicks landscaping . Peter has to be the best in his field of expertise. He was always available when we had any questions or concerns. We made the best decision when we heard Peter Hogarty and the team at Hicks.

What a wonderful experience! Starting with our very knowledgeable designer, Peter Hogarty, who listened to what we were looking for and came up with a beautiful design for our home. Being followed by a fabulous crew headed by Julio Pineda. The crew worked diligently. never dreamt they would be so neat, clean, organized, and respectful. They went above and beyond! This was an absolute fabulous experience. We were Hicks fans before, but we are lifers now!

So we heard so much about Hicks Nursery for years and when we moved to the neighborhood we tried them to landscape our new house. It was we blank canvas as we had removed what was previously there. Ken was our designer and he was wonderful! He worked with our busy schedule and was flexible. He designed the space and came to the house to present it to us. He gave us several options of how to implement it as we wanted to do it in stages and he really listened to exactly what we wanted. He presented the design to us and accompanied the design with a packet of photos of what each plant looked like in bloom so that we could envision the final product. This was very important to us because we found it hard to envision how it would look. He explained the reasoning behind the choice of each plant. He designed the space so it would have some color for most of the year honoring our request for as much color as possible. They completed everything we wanted in one day. He followed up to make sure we were pleased and had been satisfied. We look forward to implementing the next stage in the Spring. We are thrilled with the results so far. It will need to grow in of course (that was part of the design) and we will see the full product over the seasons as well. We are charmed by our new garden and can t wait to see the changes as it grows! Part two - Spring 2024 - We divided our landscaping into two parts doing the front of the house first and then the back of the house the following Spring. Wow I couldn t be happier. We told Ken, our landscape designer, that we wanted continuous color in our garden especially in the back where we intended to spend time outdoors enjoying it. He designed it that way, again showing us photos of what the plants would look like when they matured. It was truly delightful to watch the very green plants they planted grow so quickly and blossom with gorgeous flowers. I am stunned at how long the flower carpet pink roses bloom and rebloom covering the area with beautiful flowers. I now have a routine that I go outside each day to enjoy my beautiful garden and see the amazing changes that take place. Our limelight hydrangeas now make a beautiful centerpiece for our backyard. I look forward to watching my garden grow more and more lush as the days, weeks and months pass. Thank you Hicks (especially Ken) for my lovely garden!

I used Hicks Landscaping to redo my entire backyard with a pool. They were tremendously knowledgeable about town regulations (esp because I had electric wires running thru the middle of my yard). They designed my entire backyard worked with the pool company, plumbers, electricians and masons to get everything done as planned in a timely manner. They always kept me up to date and did an awesome job landscaping around my pool. Peter Hogarty was my primary contact and I would highly recommend him for any backyard projects.

From the conception of landscape design plans to job completion, Ken Muellers and his team did a superb job. Ken worked within our budget. Landscaping was done for our front and backyard property. I was specific about a pollinating garden in the backyard to encourage butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Ken listened and made wonderful suggestions. Curb appeal is great and our property looks good. Lois in the office was also a great help with communication. We are delighted with Hicks and would recommend them if you are considering any landscape work.

Peter was very helpful and patient while working with me to improve the landscaping in front of my home. He was very hands-on and was there during the installation process as well. I m happy with the result, and also glad knowing they will back up their work if I should have problems with any of the plants moving forward.

Craig and the Hicks Landscapes design team did an amazing job! Craig the designer and project manager, did a complete renovation of my backyard. He had creative and beautiful ideas on how to address any issues and make the most of the space. The crew, headed by foreman Julio, worked incredibly hard in 90-degree weather, paying attention to every detail. Craig executed the renovation flawlessly, with the landscape, masonry and irrigation/electrical crews all working together seamlessly and completing the projection on schedule. I cant rave enough about the whole experience, and the gorgeous yard I now have!

Hicks wants to get it right. They will slow you down when necessary, based on careful listening, and on their experience. I really appreciate this. Its a good business that is sincere in their desire to avoid issues and have a good experience all around. They also know that it is not easy, and is a two-way street in the sense of requiring ones active participation -- they cannot quite mind-read etc, much as one would like that to be the case. But they do their best in that department too. Plan ahead, timing-wise, because they get very busy. Visit in person at least once. Thank you.

Hicks design team did a fantastic job redoing the entrance of our home. The team that came to do the planting worked extremely hard and diligently. We planted the Appalachian Redbud tree in March. The guys who did the work were pros and did a great job. The tree is now starting to bloom in late April and looks great. Peter gave me some advice on watering throughout the year.

I purchased 26 trees from the Hicks Nursery and Hicks Landscape personnel came to plant all trees. They came on time and work with diligence and care, with professionalism. All trees were planted beautifully. They measures the distances in between very carefully and provided decent suggestions, as well as giving me detailed instructions of how to maintain going forward. I would give the highest rating to this service.

Everyone we encountered was amazing and professional from the start of the process until the end of the process. We are so pleased with the work that was done and our yard looks beautiful. They did amazing work! We could not be more pleased with the people we worked with from Hicks. William and his team were phenomenal and we would use them again in a heartbeat!

It was real pleasure to do business with Hicks Nurseries in Westbury!! All of the personnel were helpful as I selected & purchased trees to provide a privacy barrier on my property. William Winiecki, the General Manager was invaluable. He visited my home and was able to advise me regarding the placement and watering of the trees, and, also what additional watering tools I needed. The landscapers worked in sweltering heat to complete the planting of the trees - which look lovely. Kudos to Hicks!!

We needed some tall dead bushes removed from a 15 foot wide strip in the backyard. The staff at Hicks assisted us with picking out shrubs that were suitable for our needs. A manager came to our house and inspected the site and made further helpful suggestions. The crew that did the actual removal and planting arrived on time and was experienced and careful. They asked for my approval at several critical times before proceeding. they did a truly professional job an cleaned upwhen finished. Is Hicks expensive? Yes. It Hicks worth it? Absolutely. Not only does Hicks stand behind its products, but working with Hicks made a giant project easy; the Hicks team communicated with and coordinated with our stone and irrigation contractors so that everything went off without a hitch. When you contract for Hicks Nurseries to plant your newly purchased trees, it comes with the reassurance that those living things will continue to develop and thrive straight and tall. Under the direction of general manager, William Winiecki, and Nelson and crew, the process of enhancing strong, enduring growth is guaranteed (to the tune of two years). Hicks removed a recently purchased (from a landscape supply company in Holtsville) diseased Colorado Spruce and replaced it with a Nellie Stevens Holly. Paying an extra price for professional planters to do their thing makes dollars and sense. To be certain, Winiecki is finicky enough to earn my trust and future business.

Was a great experience from start to finish. At first they didnt have enough of the trees we wanted. They put us on a waiting list and actually called when they had enough trees. I went in and purchased them and then William came to look at the yard and make sure all was good to go and what would fit. The installation was great. They showed up on time and finished promptly and did an excellent job. Would highly recommend.

Peter Hogarty, our landscape designer is very professional and responsive. Initial concerns about total project costs were resolved when we compared quantity of plant material to other contractors. Peter suggested an optional stone and bluestone walkway which was reasonable and made a big impact. Installation crew, managed by Anabal were GREAT! I worked with Hicks Landscape Design who designed and implemented new landscaping at my home. They were quick to produce a design and budget and ultimately gave me a full, detailed proposal of all plants and labor. They came and met me at my home and walked me through the design, made adjustments as discussed and ultimately completed the work on time and on budget.

Craig is the best Landscape Designer/Architect I ve ever worked with and their have been many over the years. His designs are unique and timeless. We ve had so many strangers come up to our house inquiring as to who did the design for us. His team are so unbelievably professional, friendly, responsive and responsible. We chose Hicks for our backyard renovation and we couldnt be more pleased. The job was done quickly, efficiently and absolutely beautifully. Hicks, specifically Craig Donley-- who managed the project, were in daily contact. We knew who was showing up, when they would be there, and exactly what they would be doing. Other than a few days of bad weather, there were no wasted moments. This meant that project was completed, from ground-breaking to finishing touches, with remarkable speed. Craig and his team coordinated all permits and communications with the town. They asked our input and advice with all questions and design changes. Every member of the Hicks team was friendly, hard-working, and respectful of our home and our family. A quick anecdote: My daughters cherry tree, the one that blooms in April-- right around her birthday--was a casualty of the renovation. This was very upsetting to her... hysterically upsetting. Craig and team made sure to get the same type of tree placed somewhere else in the yard. They included my daughter in the placement, the hole digging, and the ceremonial planting of the new tree. Not only that, but Juan (everyones favorite Hicks demo guy and strong-man) cut tree-stump seats from the old cherry for my children to sit on beneath the new one. When you begin a huge project, there are usually so many headaches and hassles, so many hurdles and setbacks. There was none of that with Hicks. Cant recommend them enough.
