Anthony has done a great job feeding my lawn. I am not able to do it myself. It actually looks like a lawn now. Much thicker now. Before the lawn was very thin and bare spots from the wild turkeys picking at the grubs, but Trugreen took care of that. I am very grateful for your service. Thank you.
Terrible service. Three straight unexplained cancellations for overseeing and now it’s too late in the year to complete. Previous visits were also 10 minutes max and neglected large parts of the yard. Would not recommend.
The customized solution TruGreen brought our business was equal to or better than anything a local (smaller provider) could have delivered. TruGreen was able to accommodate us on our service days to make sure that it didn’t conflict with our mowing schedule. Even their senior management team showed up on more than one occasion to oversee the treatments we were receiving. They also made adjustments to the treatment plan to combat some of the unexpected changes in our lawn due to weather conditions beyond our control. We also received recommendations and suggestions on altering our watering/Irrigation schedule. Our lawn hasn’t looked this good in over 10 years. Many of the guests to our property actually commented about the lawn and landscaping in their comment cards. While True Green can’t guarantee or commit to the same person treating your property each visit, we have found that this particular management team has done an incredible job of retaining employees which ultimately led to us having the same person nearly every time they visited. Again, they can’t guarantee that but it sure seems to be working out that way. So, in addition to treating customers really well, they must be treating their employees really well to have retained them for this long. I’m stating the obvious when I say that TruGreen was the best decision we made for our property!
We found grubs on our lawn and Tru Green treated for them and reseeded our lawn. Hope they got the grubs taken care of and the new grass begins to grow. We will see. Christian and Brandon thank you.

A year ago with all the rain we had during the summer we were basically down to mud. TruGreen and their awesome workers have made this lawn look wonderful again. We can’t thank you enough TruGreen!!!
I’m only writing this review in hopes to get attention from TruGreen as their customer service phone number puts you into an infinite loop continuing to ask for your phone number until you succumb to the idiocracy of entering your phone number 18 times in hopes that THIS is the time it will work. I made the mistake of signing up for TruGreen after we reseeded our lawn. Initially they were told they could not come out until June 14th due to the grass being immature. On May 20th I called to cancel my account. I chose a local company. Someone who I know, someone who has a direct phone number where the same person answers every time, someone whose kids go to school with my kids. LOCAL. The representative on the phone was pushy at trying to retain my business, which I appreciate. But when I remained firm to cancel she became very rude and told me that, “I am cancelling the account. I can do two things at once, you know.” Mmm ok. On May 22nd I came home to TruGreen signs all over my lawn showing they had been there for service. Umm not cancelled and not after June 14th?! I called TruGreen immediately. This time I had a wonderful rep who apologized profusely for the error. She also assured me that I did not owe for the service. On June 6th, I received a bill from TruGreen for a service I cancelled. I continue to receive phone calls from TruGreen about my account, but when I choose the option to speak to someone I end up in the infinite loop of entering my phone number 18 times. This has been the worst experience in customer service in the history of ever. TruGreen should be ashamed at how poorly they perform at something so menial. -5 stars.
I hired this firm at its Westbrook, Maine location on a trial basis, with no payment before the service was performed. They told me they had a great online system that would keep me updated on their arrival time the day of the service. This was critical because i have a gated privacy fence they cannot access without my being home. My dog is usually outside, and i would have to bring him inside before Trugreen arrived. They gave me an eta of 11 am, then it changed and after my final call to them they could not even find a time in their system. However, they billed me and continue to bill me for work never done and a contract i never signed up for. They refuse to stop billing despite the facts noted above.
I have a commercial account, since my lakeside property is also a VRBO business. Any service company I use in the upkeep of my property I consider a business partner. My contacts at TruGreen fulfill that role beautifully. If I have a question or issue, the response is quick and thorough. I am fortunate in that I've had the same technician for the past two seasons, and he takes a personal interest in any issues that arise. I always feel heard and respected across all contacts at TruGreen. And, my lawn looks great and thrives beautifully! Isn't that what this is all about?

When they come, they typically do a good job. However, the phone response system is like putting a note in a bottle. One can never reach the local provider, where most of the problems reside.

I like the results so far but am worried about the front yard. There was a lot of weeds and those are now gone, but a lot of bare spots and for some reason moss is on the front lawn, and when I rake the lawn to get twigs up off lawn the moss comes off and there s more bare spots. I have confidence in Trugreen that they ll make it right. The backyard is looking good.

Got a call from Truegreen sales person. He wanted to up sell me a shrub/tree treatment for insects. I he did not do the evaluation of my property. I dont have any shrubs on my property and only 2 trees. I told him I wanted to speak with the technician, which made recommendations. He was very at that point. He stated, the technician knows what is needed, no need to speak with him. I told him I need more information, and he rudely hung up. Wanted to charge $245.00 on top of the $1200.
True green always alerts me days before they come, prior to arrival, and always leave notes after they are gone. They show up on time, they complete their duties in a timely manner, and leave everything looking great..

True Green has not serviced the lawn since the middle of June. The lawn is full of crab grass. I have called many times and I am told they will be here in a week . Still waiting!
Someone from trugreen came over to spray pesticides a couple of weeks ago and 2 days later our once green grass had yellow patches all over our lawn. I called and they said someone would be over by Friday, they never showed up. Again I called them and the girl said oh they rescheduled for Tues.....ummm who rescheduled?? We were never notified about them rescheduling! Well todays Wednesday they never came . THE ABSOLUTE WORST BUSINESS for lawn care !! Save your money do not let this company touch your lawn.
Bad overall experience. We were told the team came to spray our lawn and I honestly think they just put the little sign in our yard saying they did. Our security cameras were active all day, and even caught others on our property, but never caught our property being sprayed. We were told we had paid for a package with multiple months of sprays, which apparently wasnt true. When my husband called to check why we were charged he was told a different number than the original. They cancel and take a while to reschedule. I just dont think they are worth what they charge.

I would not recommend Trugreen for your lawncare service. They only care about adding contracts and NOT about your lawn. I got a text saying they were on their way to do lime treatment and it was raining! I had to call them to tell them to re-schedule as they were on there way. Grub put down early summer, got grub attack in Oct. Invoicing system is messed up, very hard to understand. Had several treatments for weeds but NEVER got rid of them, had patches of clover all summer. All calls to the local distributer went to a call center. Horrible horrible service. DO NOT USE TRUGREEN! Update: Oh finally, I was waiting for the canned response that is automatically generated to all negative reviews, like you really care. You have my phone number and email already and Ive talked to your reps too many times. Wouldnt waste my time again! You guys are a joke!
Trugreen does not know how to communicate and they over charge. A sales person told me theyd be doing around 60 dollars a treatment. This includes core aeration and over seeding. Visit one - they double charge. Say its some special super treatment they do on first service. Its like 2 charges of 90 bucks. Visit two - like visit one they didnt notify me when theyre coming. But they charged me like 60 bucks so good job I guess. Visit three - they dont notify me when theyre coming. Except this time they charge me 290 dollars. I get 1 or 2 calls from these people trying to upsell. Once I leave I get like 10 calls trying to save my business. Never once a sincere apology. Never once an explanation. Never once a refund. In fact one guy offered me a discount on further service that I canceled but that took four other people calling. I dont want a retention offer but why did it take so much for them to try and offer something resembling a solution. Trugreen might make your lawn look better. They didnt mine. Instead they spray for bugs and do nothing. And when its time for service its just call after call upselling you and overcharging. Theyre a joke of a company. Find someone local.

My appointment was canceled twice and they finally got here but on the print out it still says almost 15000 square feet treated.it only 9500.i dont know why it is taken them so long to fix issues
1-2 of the techs are great and actually do what they are supposed to (come to the door before they start, do a thorough job, leave info about they did), but most of them are not like that. Today was the last straw, so I will be canceling my services. The tech parked in an emergency turnaround space on my road right in front of a no parking sign (most of them park there despite the no parking sign), instead of coming up my driveway and parking there. He looked at me as I was standing in the doorway, but didnt come to talk to me at the door. Whatever he did (I dont know what because he didnt leave a note with details), he didnt do it well and he didnt get all parts of my lawn. He was here for less than 5 minutes and I have a big lawn. The overseeding that was done earlier in the season was terribly done and I had to put my own seed down, not to mention, no very little grass has grown from it, but plenty of weeds have come up in those areas. (grass HAS grown where I put down my own seed). I did receive a credit to my account, but thats not the point. The tech that day was also smoking/vaping while he was on my property and seeding my lawn, which was very unprofessional and disgusting. I pay extra for pesticide free treatments, but the techs always put signs up saying that the lawn has been treated with pesticides!! I also dont understand why this year (2023) the company was aerating at the END of the summer instead of beginning. And doing lawn treatments in November when there is frost on the ground. Overall, Im pretty disappointed with the service and quality. *****With the exception of TWO techs that have taken time to talk with me about my lawn and what it needs, and have suggested I call to get a refund on certain services because they, too, noticed that things were done poorly.

My lawn had so much crabgrass and bare spots, now it s greener and healthier than ever before!
We hired this company several years ago and never really got the results we paid for. They would come by and do a little here and a little there but never the whole yard. Always continued to have crabgrass and weeds. I called in July to cancel and was told we were all set. I still continued to get phone calls and bills even after this so I had to call back in August. The lady said it was never cancelled but it showed that i had called to do so. She again told me that she was going to get it cancelled. I got home today only to find another bill. Feel like we are being harassed by this company.
He didnt leave an invoice, and we dont believe he did the right side of the driveway and back by the shed. He was in quite in a hurry.

0 WASNT AN OPTION. TERRIBLE. My lawn is worse now that when they began last year. I called last DECEMBER because they had not completed my lawn service yet. I spoke with their rep and explained that I was canceling my account with them and wanted a refund of my unused service. Was told that it would be taken care of. It wasnt. I spoke with another rep today Joshua who either had a hearing issue or didnt understand the word NO. After explaining my displeasure with their service, I asked for a refund for my remaining service. His response began with: What if we.............. I had to listen to this type of question 5 more times. Needless to say my displeasure increased exponentially. It took over 16 minutes to finally get the answer that should have only taken 2 minutes to get. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Its not worth the time, money or aggravation.

Absolutely terrible experience. I have now had eight phone calls with zero solutions. They should have sprayed my lawn in April, I emailed with me response, I called five times with no help and false promises, my boyfriend called and was given more false promises. Here we are two weeks later with ZERO results, middle may. GARBAGE company with terrible customer service, 100% scam in my opinion. I recommend It s green LLC For southern maine. I shopped around for price differences and obviously it was a mistake.
Very frustrated - Killed my grass! They applied chemicals twice in a week and had no idea that they did so. Last year they dumped a hopper of something an killed a large area of grass. Recently Ive tried to get the tick treatment, and Ive tried calling for weeks and weeks to get the service done. When they missed my Friday appointment yet again, it was the last straw. Go local, find a good company.
Signed up in February 2022. They talked a good talk but didn t show up and call center couldn t find both appointments that had been scheduled I would not recommend this business

Showed up at my home with no authorization from me and then sent me a bill. I contacted them numerous times to ask why I was being billed for a service I never ordered???? Instead, they continued to call and send me emails about discounts they were having on packages! I have told them over and over that I cant afford their services and yet I continue to receive bills. Below is the review I sent to them. Awful awful experience - steer clear of this company.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In my experience, your lawn service was severely disappointing based upon the service level expected as advertised and promoted by your salesperson versus the service received and your mosquito defense service was nonexistent. In only a couple months, I have lost track of how many times Ive had to call your customer service number. Regarding the lawn care, a complete and total lack of communication from TruGreen regarding what services to expect and when. The sales person gave me the distinct impression a representative would come to my home, walk around the property with me and go over what TruGreen would do to help me improve my lawn. Instead, service providers simply showed up to provide fertilizer and weed control, both times with me having to track them down before they left to ask questions I anticipated reviewing with someone who would walk the property with me. My expectation was that your first visit would include aeration and overseeding considering all the patches and mossy areas on the lawn in order to get grass growing there. Instead, I come to find out you only aerate and overseed in the Fall though Id never have known it but for pressing your staff for this info. So finally you send a rep out to the house and when I ask how TruGreen will help with the patches, he tells me TruGreen doesnt really do that and the advertising should be more clear about it. I expected advice, some coaching, and assistance to improve my lawn - all services the sales person advised I could expect. What I got wasnt even close. Regarding the mosquito service, I started getting hit hard with mosquitos in late April and began inquiring in May as to when I could expect the mosquito defense to begin. I have lost count of how many times your customer service staff have told me Id be scheduled, that they would elevate my concerns to mgt., etc. etc. I call prior to Memorial Day weekend and a Mr. Washington told me I likely wouldnt get service before the holiday but most certainly the following week - it never happened. I called last Thursday and told the customer service person I want the mosquito service on Friday or we are done and I would cancel my account. She apologized profusely as have her colleagues, promised to escalate the concern to mgt, and said Friday couldnt happen but that they could do it Monday (yesterday) for certain and theyd give me a 50% discount on the service. Well guess what, Monday came and went so I called today and told the customer service person Im done - cancel my account. And yet I still have access to my account and it doesnt even look like she cancelled it. I cant even seem to cancel it on your website. After a month of patiently requesting the mosquito service and dealing with one sorry and pathetic excuse after another, Im beyond done with TruGreen. I will never recommend your company to anyone. Absolutely pathetic. :-( ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------TruGreen has refunded me the money I spent for their 2 lawn service visits so Ive upgraded the 1-star rating to a 2-star rating but that is compliments of their corporate office. I was on their website for 5 minutes trying to get a general sense of price for service. I then was called every ten minutes from various states trying to get me to sign up. I told 3 different reps to stop calling, and they keep calling. I will NEVER use TruGreen. And be wary if you give them ANY of your info. Email, phone they will pay some call center minimum wage employee who knows nothing about your town to call you every ten minutes of the day. You ve been warned.
Terrible experience. I signed up for mosquito control about 1-1.5 months ago and have seen NO ONE yet. I have called MULTIPLE times over that time period and was given false promises and no solution. I finally cancelled my services today and will be going elsewhere. Very very disappointing

It s been a tough season for the lawn. Hot and dry. I ve got a pretty big yard and don t irrigate so I have great big brown patches and plenty of crabgrass. I can t fault true green for the brown but I wonder about the crab grass. The one thing I can praise without reservation is the pest control. Barely a mosquito, no ticks and absolutely no Japanese beetles. My perennial beds have never looked so good.

If whatever treatment they provide happens to work on your lawn, great. If not, get off the hook as fast as you can. The business model of Trugreen does not let you talk to the company who actually works on your lawn directly. Every time you call, you always talk to someone from the headquarter who is clueless about your lawns issue. The best you will get is to do the same treatment again for free. Unfortunately, simply doing the wrong treatment again obviously does not solve the problem. After numerous phone calls, you finally realize that you are simply talking to the air and no one is really responsible for your case. The bottom line of their business model is to serve the lawns that fit to their standard treatment. If your lawn is not one of them, cancel the service ASAP because a customized treatment is not their goal. You will only end up wasting your time and money.
1. Hard to get ahold of a representative. When you do they are talking so loud its almost like they are yelling and not listening. 2. Everyone I spoke to when I call tries to sell me more stuff instead of answering questions. (Every single time) I literally had a representative ask me 5 times during the same call if I wanted mosquito services. I finally got so frustrated that I had to say that you asked me this 5 times, and Im not interested. He said he just wanted to make sure that I was aware of this service. 3. I cant speak to a local rep. very disappointing. I dont even know where you are actually located. 4. The technicians dont even let us know that they are here. The slips on the door say that our technician completed our services and is available to answer questions, but they get here and are gone before you have a chance to ask the questions. I wanted to speak to the aerator/overseeding technicians to see what we can do to prep the grass for winter but he backed into the very end of our driveway (Our driveway is 200 long) backed the machine off of the truck and flew around our yard at what seemed like 5-10 miles per hour tearing up some areas of the lawn, he missed a complete section of the lawn as well. I had to go out later and smooth out all of the piles that were left behind. I went out onto the porch waiting for him to finish so I can have questions and get recommendations but as soon as he was done, he drove right back into the truck closed up, and took off. He saw me standing out there. I wont chase down the equipment or yell. Poor customer service. On a positive note, the grass was greener and we have fewer weeds. We did do some work on the lawn ourselves. (Watered, added seed, adjusted the mower height (I had to do research online for the best height to mow because I couldnt get in touch with a TruGreen rep to ask their advice. (I was told that this was a part of the service that we paid hundreds of dollars for, but I guess I was wrong.) Ways to improve are to become more transparent on the services, listen to your customers, and answer their questions instead of trying to sell them for more services.
Not always reliable due to hiring challenges. We have to keep calling to get service on time , every 6 weeks or so. We were pleasant surprised with last 2 employees who serviced our lawn for fertilizer & curative grub control. Need more people like that. Very reasonable rates & very responsive customer service employees when they can found our properties on their computer.

I had used tru green for two years without issue and then they treated my lawn improperly and grass started to die in several large areas. They at first owned the problem and said they overtreated areas of the lawn. They tried reseeding once and nothing happened. I called them back for repair and they didn t respond. They have called me every year since asking me to be a client again and I told them sure if you fix the problem you left me with. They continued to do nothing g and says now that it wasn t their problem. No ownership. No caring for the customer is what I ultimately experienced.
They did my lawn for weed control two weeks ago. My lawn has more weeds now than before they started!

They were spraying my neighbors yard yesterday In high winds And he refused to stop until I threatened to call 911 he gave me an hostel attitude I have called state licensing board
I called them on Wednesday the 7th and they told me they would be able to spray my lawn within 2-3 days. They ended up not scheduling me until 7 days later, on the 13th, then on the day they were supposed to finally come the tech never showed up supposedly they had equipment issues. They rescheduled me for Friday the 16th, and again tech never showed. I called customer service and they said they had me in the schedule for the 22nd! The rep also gave me an attitude.

TruGreen, is without a doubt, perhaps the single worst service-based business I have ever dealt with. They dont call, they dont email, and when they promise a service date, they dont show up. I had mosquito service done on June 11,2021. I was told theyd come back around July 4th. Its now August 11, 2021 and have called no less than a half dozen times and been given new service dates, only to have them no show. My family is being eaten alive by mosquitoes and I have no recourse but to call TruGreen and beg and plead for service. They do the same old song and dance every time; were so sorry...well make a note....Im getting you on the schedule...next one is free.... BLAH.BLAH.BLAH. Another date, another no-show. If you can, I implore you to pay more and go with a local, reputable business. My review is not an exception...its the rule. Their review team will comment on this review and say oh email us we care about you. DO NOT BUY IT. Ill email them and the results will be the same. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results...Im definitely insane. TLDR; TruGreen is terrible, dont ever use them.
They rarely come when they say they will, they are rarely prepared, they do not follow instructions. It is impossible to reach anyone other than billing, and even then it takes forever. IF you are fortunate enough to talk to someone, they will be from another state. Just. Dont. Bother. with TruGreen.
This company scams customers into purchasing a plan up front and never show up for the service that is ALREADY PAID FOR. We have been trying to schedule for mosquito removal for the past 2 months with no response. They always say that it has been scheduled but never show up, we even got a text message the day of the appointment stating that John P. will be taking care of our lawn this afternoon from 1-6 but then never show up. When calling into Customer Service, they act rudely and always reply with theres nothing we can do on our end. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. We will be taking legal action against the company by suing them for charging us services that they refuse to perform in addition to false advertisement.
Holy moly. I thought I knew the color green until I looked at my front lawn and saw my tech spraying the lawn with high tech bug repellent juices. Then he sprayed my lawn with a little green spray paint to make it have a touch that nobody else has in the neighborhood. If I could rate it higher, Id go 10 stars. I miss my dad, he loved lawns.
I pre-paid for a season s worth of lawn care. They suggest you call them to come out extra times if the product isn t working. Well, it didn t work. I wasted so much money and my lawn has more weeds/issues than when I started. Total waste of time and money. Customer Service when you sign up is amazing, each time after that you can tell you are annoying them, and they have much better things to do than deal with you complaining.
Very unhappy 854$ contact and never received half the services! When they came , looked around fertilized a few spots, and put the sign on lawn and the summary in the door. Took them all of 5 minutes. They still owe me my last service of potassium, haven t even heard from them. I was home when they came and watched, car was in garage so they assumed I wasn t home!!! Maybe hire better and honest help .
Arrived home on November 1st to see we had a mosquito and tick control application done ..a few weeks after our last. It looking like snow tonight. They did one application out of 5 then forgot about us. Very disappointed and would never recommend.
Please dont bother with this company, their customer service is garbage, their communication is garbage and their lawn care is garbage. They came out twice for seeding and fertilizing and turned my green lawn yellow. They where scheduled to come out for a third time but couldnt find the house hmmm K, and when I called and asked about it they said the driver stated Owner requested no service That was a lie. They said they would send out another person to do my service and after hours of not showing up I call again and now the equipment on the truck was broken. I guess they only have one truck for my area. Dont waste your money!
Similar to other reviews, I was home for a recent service. The person from TruGreen spread in a few areas, covered perhaps 30% of my lawn, then was gone. I feel like I have been scammed. They don t provide the service you pay them to do. They did one small strip in my backyard (see picture). Edit - I did email per the owner request. Nothing has been resolved. I will update status here if/when there is a resolution.
Truegreens customer service is awful. A different representative every time, bad record keeping of my concerns, and not listening to the customer when they want something. I just canceled their service after 3 years. What an awful company.
They never actually did the service. Guy was in and out in 30 seconds and only placed the caution sign. Dont think he thought I was home
Very frustrated. This is my second year with TruGreen and my lawn is full of Dandelions and Weeds. I called about the weeds and was told that the application needs to be done while the weeds are growing? Ok, so at this time some have already gone to seed which means that without a pre-emergent weed killer this application is useless.
We had Tru Green of Bangor, ME airate and overseed mostly exsisting lawn, but we primarily had this done for some larger patches where we have no grass. They dont provide rough timing, they just give you the day theyll come They move fast without attention to detail They did not instruct us to rake the seed into our soil saying we didnt need to do anything. The result, no grass 3 weeks later. Just do it yourself
We have the mosquito service and live in Maine. We had a service and it really had no affect so we called and explained the situation and asked them to come out again. They scheduled to come out on a Tuesday and never showed up so we called again, and were told they would be out on Friday. They did not show again and when I called the person on the phone had no way to contact the office the service was to be delivered out of. Would not recommend this company to anyone.
We paid for a lawn service specifically to target ant control, and then the technician showed up and did a mosquito control application. When I contacted Trugreen, the representative said the technician did the right application but left the wrong sign. A week later, we still had ants, so I contacted Trugreen via email - no response. Then I called and was told by a rep that ant service isnt covered in my area, but that she was going to double check and get back to me. No response, so two days later I called again, and a different rep told me ant service is covered. Since no one seemed to know what was going on, and because the wrong service had been applied, I cancelled and requested a refund. Trugreen gave me a refund less the cost of the first application, which wasnt even of the service I requested. Im throwing in the towel and letting them keep that money. Its too difficult to get answers from anyone in the company.
Terrible services----My lawn/trees looks worst than they ever have. Cancelled all services late spring---get a text someone one is coming today July 16th, 2020. Called to find out not all services were cancelled like I had asked for and it took some doing to get them all cancelled. Never got a confirmation email last time, so I have nothing in writing---asked for one this time---waiting to see if I get one.
Our experience with the Westbrook, Maine office has been a disaster. Paid up front for a years service and they dont show up on time, technicians dont do what they said theyd do, cant get anyone to answer the phone or return a call when a message is left. The salesperson called non stop until the contract was signed and then its as if they fell off the face of the earth. A manager named John actually drove down from the Portland office after some issues and talked a good talk but then nothing has changed. The promised mosquito/tick application is over a week late and it turns out its not scheduled for another ten days! Awful communication. Jacob Harvey is a manager or the top person but no email or phone number to reach him and he isnt returning any messages Ive left.
Signed up for Trushield through the Westbrook office at the end May and paid the fee in full for the season. Prompt response and first treatment was quickly provided and successful. Fast forward a little over 3 weeks and mosquitos were returning. I called beginning of July just to see when the second application might be happening. Was given a week window of when it would be accomplished. At the end of that timeframe they still had not shown up. Called again and was given another week timeframe. This process was repeated 3 more times till it was now 2 months from the first application and the mosquitos were rampant and ticks were showing up again. On the 5th call and being told yet again it would happen in the next week, I finally canceled my plan and asked for a refund. I am now out $150 for the first month and left with a yard full of mosquitos and ticks. I am beyond frustrated.
Unfortunately, our experience has been less than stellar. We prepaid, and are supposed to have scheduled mosquito sprays every month. Not once have they come out when promised. Every single time I have to call at least 3 times in order to get someone to come out. They have not come out on the days they promise and when I call yet again, they promise before the end of the week.....and never come. I just called AGAIN and said I NEED to have someone come out today or tomorrow (they were supposed to come out last week) because I have a party this weekend. The people are very kind, professional sounding, and courteous. They are aplogetic and I have no issues with their service effectiveness or how they treat me on the ohine or in person. But you guys NEED to straighten out your scheduling and promised times. Strange, I had the same type of experience with another local mosquito control company....which is why I switched to try TruGreen. Please fix the issue, TruGreen! I really want you to gain a better reputation than this.
I signed on with TruGreen after talking to a sales rep who promised me that they would be out for my first mosquito application within one week. A week went by and I hadnt heard anything so I called. The woman I spoke with told me the salesperson never should have promised me a week but that she would put in a request for service within the next two days. Never heard anything. Two days passed and I called again. Same thing...promised a request would be put in, still nothing. Called back. I expressed my frustration and the man told me hed keep an eye on my account and that he would personally call me back with an update. No phone call. Today I called one final time and still nothing. In fact, today I was told the office is closed, though the rep told me yesterday that the office is open on Saturdays. This company makes empty promises and doesnt follow through. Sadly now that I am reading reviews, I can see this is a consistent problem. So glad I didnt pay upfront. Never again will I use TruGreen.

Worst year ever dealing with NOT Trugreen!! The worst customer service Ive ever experienced (and thats saying a lot...). If I had a quarter for every time a customer service rep (CSR) said Im sorry, my entire years service could have been paid for with the money. I especially chuckled when waiting for a CSR and heard them talk about the TRU LAWN GUARANTEE..... yes, guaranteed to kill your lawn and have weeds upon weeds grow and THRIVE!!! Dont EVEN get me started on how miserable the mosquito defense service was..... biggest joke was when they said if you see a mosquito, just call us and we will come out the NEXT day.....i think they meant to say we dont really care you have mosquitos or not....we might come out sometime but probably wont!!!! If anybody sees this review....please, please, take heed and use another service.....but if you do decide to use them because its convenient or a name brand, dont say i didnt warn you after the poor results!!
I have called TruGreen to have a respray for crabgrass 5 times from Aug. 21 to mid Oct. Was promised each time someone would be arriving in a few days to respray. No one ever showed up, so if you enjoy being lied to and dealing with very poor quality service this is you company. For me, I m stoping my service and finding a better company that I can depend on.

Prepaid for a year and a first time customer. Zero contact for 5 days till I called. I like people And like personal service. Zero contact after you see over a $1000 come out of your account and no one contacts you....that s not good service. After I purchased the year prepaid service in Saturday I got bombarded by calls to add on other services I thought would be included. It all left a bad taste in my mouth so I canceled it today Thursday the 9th Of May after I thought I canceled it on Saturday after I got bombarded by all the sales calls the day I purchased it. I will use a local company or do it myself.

Trugreen has provided service that has been better than several other lawn companies and better than I have been able to do myself. Not only have they kept my lawn green and free of weeds they did it cheaper than I could do myself. Whenever I thought the lawn didnt look green enough or I thought I saw too many weeds I would simply call and discuss the problem. Truegreen would then provide an additional free application service that corrected the problem. I am very satisfied and have convinced several neighbors to become Truegreen family members Frank.
EDIT: They did fix this problem, for which Im grateful. I have changed from one star to 3. Do not EVER use TruGreen for anything. They are a totally dysfunctional company. The sales operation in Maine was happy to promise my mosquito treatment for last Thursday/Friday, or at the latest, this Monday/Tuesday , but no one called or showed up. After many phone calls to customer service , nothing happened. Customer service was totally unable to reach the responsible branch office and had no way of communicating with the branch that would take less than 24-48 hours. Seriously, they can t talk with one another and they can t make anything happen. They don t keep promises. Customer service has no ability to serve customers. What a totally, utter, dysfunctional mess of a company.
We had so many negative experiences in the short three months we tried using TruGreen. They came and did the first application, and all seemed OK. We pre-paid for 6 applications, so they would be returning automatically. They were supposed to come back in 4 weeks, but came back in 6 weeks. (I should have checked the date sooner, but I also shouldnt have to do that, either.) Customer service apologized when I realized the error, and came out after I called. Two weeks after the second spray, we noticed a ton of mosquitos, so we called for our free re-spray. The day of the re-spray, I got the notification that they were on their way, but I never got a notification that they completed the spray. Turns out, they just never showed, and never called to let us know, or apologize, or reschedule. When I called two days later (I was out of town, and didnt realize the non-notification until then) they apologized profusely and said they would come out in 48 hours. That never happened, and they showed up a week and a half later for our next monthly, scheduled appointment. I was home when they came, and they were there for all of two minutes - never once going into our back yard. I called and cancelled our last three sprays, and asked for a refund. When they actually do come to spray, it seems effective, but its too much of a hassle to have to check in constantly and call to get them to honor the services I paid for.
TruGreen was aware that my concern was resolving an apple scab fungus issue which convinced me to sign up. However, I was disappointed that the technician handling the initial service indicated that TruGreens season for applying fungicide was already past and that the days service was only for insect control (Strike 1). It rained shortly after the insecticide application so I sent TruGreen a question to see if a follow-up application was needed - I never heard back (Strike 2). Hopefully things will improve.
Hired spring of 2018, by the fall of 2018 lawn looked terrible turning brown and dying. By the spring of 2019, 70% of my lawn was dead. They attempted to slit seed to repair damage but guys doing it didnt know which end of machine to stand behind, it was disastrous. They have no interest in your lawn just your money.
What a horror show. Hired these guys to take my lawn to the next level and they killed it! Starting turning brown in late summer. They said I might see some thinning in areas but this was thick healthy grass turning brown and by the following spring it was all dead. The folks in the billing office are far more talented than the guys fertilizing lawns, they have no problem taking your money and dont want to give it back. STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN IF YOU WANT A NICE LAWN. Dont take my word for it, look at all the reviews
Its been a week (8/25/19) since you sprayed for weeds for the second time and weeds are still very much present in my lawn. Not very happy with your service. I gave you a star because I could not post without it. As far as Im concern you have no star.
The field agents are friendly and knowledgeable. I dont understand, however, why they charge so much for aeration - a job completed within a matter of minutes.
I was called by Trugreen to sell me mosquito service and was promised a full money back guarantee if it didn t work. I called the main service number and they said they never give all the money back. I was also told twice that added service visits were going to happen to try to make it work and they never came. Horrible waste of money.
We worked with Lawn Dawg for over 5 years with no concerns great techs good service. We are in our second year since Trugreen the Lawn Dawg franchise. Last year no major service issues. This year is a different story. Paid for contract in March prepayingfor yearly service contract.. The contract includes 7 services and grub treatment. Per the website they are to visit our property once every 4-6 weeks. First service completed on May 18. This only occurred after calling 4 times inquiring as to the service would be performed. We were told at every call that you are scheduled for next. When no one showed we called again we were advised that if we did not call you to notify you we were coming you are not on the schedule. Six weeks later we called again inquiring as to when they would be completing the next service. We were advised that we were on the schedule for the next 2 weeks. Two weeks later no service completed called again. We advised them that our lawn was in poor condition. There are weeds throughout the lawn and crabgrass everywhere. we were advised that a technician would visit our home within 3 days to address our concerns per their satisfaction guaranty. 10 days later and no service visit. we called again requested to have a manager return our call to speak with regarding issues. The manager never returned our call. i submitted an online request to speak with someone. I received an automatic reply someone would return my call within 1 business day. No one called or emailed. At this point my lawn is lost for the year. Crabgrass needs to be treated early in the year to prevent it from overtaking your lawn. i cannot possibly receive quality service for the rest of the year. If they came every 4 weeks for the rest of the year the last service would be completed in the middle of December. Certainly not the time of year to treat your lawn. i very rarely fill out a negative review online. I offered them every opportunity to speak with me regarding this concern and was ignored. I cannot recommend this company to anyone and would strongly advise others to seek another .vendor for lawn care service.
Very poor service its sept 11, theyve only come 2 times this year. Lawn is full of weeds and crabgrass and both times they stated they spot sprayed weeds. I checked each time and not a single weed dead. Emailed them and left concern, called twice and left on long phone wait ,My lawn condition has dramatically gone downhill with their lack of service. Would Strongly suggest another provider next year
I had contracted with True Green 15-20 yrs ago and was not happy or satisfied with service. I decided to try them again in May 2018. Again, they did not review the property lines with me, and neglected to treat a portion of my lawn. After numerous phone calls to Customer Service, my request to speak with a service manager went unanswered. A representative called, but the branch manager in Westbrook, ME did not. I had to call Customer service numerous times to cancel my account, get the appropriate refunds issued. I do not recommend True Green for your lawn care needs.
We were looking for a reliable lawn service to keep our new lawn going through its first year. We paid over $1,000 up front for a plan. At the time I was very hesitant about paying the full amount in advance for a service that was yet to be provided. The salesman told me they had 100% satisfaction guarantee and would come out in between visits as often as I needed. As it turned out, my instincts were right as I went on to receive terrible service with this company. First and foremost you cant contact anyone locally. All calls are routed to an 800 number. Second, every time a service was scheduled through an automated message they would no show. Not once in the 5 months i had this service did I ever meet one of their technicians! One day I came home to cracks that they left in my driveway from unloading their equipment. I called to complain and of course couldnt speak to anyone locally. They didnt show up for the next FIVE services and then I fired them! I asked for a full refund of my money, but they only refunded the remaining balance for the services they never provided. If all this wasnt bad enough; you also get harassing sales calls where they call from out of state to sell additional services. How about providing the services Ipaid for first?!! These guys are the epitome of an unreliable and disreputable company. Please dont make the same mistake...
lawndawg was great. But Trugreen is the worst. This year 2 days after of treatments big spots of my lawn was burnt. They blamed it on blight. But funny it only happens after their treatments. They also said they would throw in aerating and over seeding for free. But after a number of calls to find out when they would be doing this service I was Told It was to late to do it. I had been checking since September to get a date but was blown off until the cold weather got here. Their management is a joke.Funny thing is my parents and their friend had the same issue with their lawns burning right after treatments. Trugreen only seems to care about soaking up put money for bad service and not care about their employees bad work.
I would recommend never using this company. They have by far the worst billing department and customer service I have ever dealt with of any company ever. It took several months, repeated calls, and many many attempts to solve what should have been a simple issue. Even when I simply tried to pay my bill in full so I could cancel my service they couldnt do that right. We were Lawn Dog customers before they were acquired by Tru Green. Lawn Dog was great , Tru Green is horrible. We have cancelled our contract and will be seeking alternatives next season. My advice to anyone. STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this company.
Trugreen has kept our yard nice for many years . I would never think of changing lawn service. If I have any problems I know I can call and they will take care of them. Thank you
I will never use TruGreen again for any reason....They have TWICE taken out of my bank the wrong amount...I have called and get NO where but we will look into it...they now say it will take 5-7 days for my money to be put into my account...SAD

Your staff is interested in providing great results. If I am home when they deliver it, they always ask me if I have any special requests. You service and staff are great. Ive been using your service for more than 30 years.
TruGreen Customer Service is absolutely terrible. I try calling all of their phone numbers and get the automated BS and no human ever answers the phone. The service is the worst and when I want to call them at their phone numbers, I can expect to be on hold waiting for some person/idiot to pick up the phone for greater than 10 minutes before I hang up,
The specialist is very knowledgeable about my trees and shrubs. He knows what to apply on them each and every visit. They are friendly and professional. My shrubs have never looked better.
The service manager is a crook.
The Westbrook store has no number it goes to corporate then you get put on hold forever. I have been a customer for over 10 years but changing as soon as this season is over and my contract runs out
This year my lawn has looked really good. The tech called every time he was at my home to put down an application and if I had questions he was knowledgeable and professional. In the past when I have had problems Trugreen took care of it. Thank you
Year after year we have been happy with the service from Trugreen. Our lawn always looks great and we like the tips that the specialist leaves us with to help us with the care of our lawn. Thumbs up!
Most recent service was the application of fertilizer. My lawn is green and healthy so far this season, so the specialists work has been successful. Scheduling is done by the TruGreen office and is reliable. My lawn is mostly weed-free and has no dandelions.
