Ive used Mainly Grass for the past three years for lawn fertilization and maintenance as well as for mosquito and tick control. Anthony (service technician) went above and beyond. Typically techs will come, stay for 5-10 minutes and leave. Anthony sprayed over our entire acre of land, then went out with a backpack sprayer going spot to spot to confirm all weeds were taken care of. Man is a legend. 5 stars.

Since starting with Mainly Grass my lawn has never looked better. Cal Hatch was my tech today and was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Overall a good company. Have to request an additional service for weeds but they are good about administering . Paperwork is good and accurate. Personnel are polite and respectful. Company policy seems to be pestering you to request additional services. Almost every tech report mentions another service you could purchase. Lot of phone calls and E mails trying to get you to pre pay. Wish they had more consideration of customers who only want basic service. Huge price increase incurred this year. Contact is very good and they do attempt to respond to all issues. Lawn looks good so far.

Awesome Service! Harley was very informative of the service when he arrived. We walked the property together, he made some suggestions on coverage which were very helpful. Had a natural treatment previously which failed us, ticks in the yard, on the dog and cat, mosquitos everywhere. Mainely Grasss product had an immediate impact on the mosquitos last night after they treated the property and I am sure after Harley finished the ticks will drop off and the dog and cat will be tick free. Mainely grass is a very reliable partner to make sure we can enjoy our yard during heavy mosquito times. We live near wetlands so it is certainly not an easy task. But Gary is absolutely giving it his best to keep us free and clear of mosquitos. I also very much appreciate that Mainely grass almost always has the same technician (Gary) taking care of our yard. That way he really knows where to apply the product. Overall very satisfied.

Adam Roux, whom I had met previously on a service call is a friendly and knowledgeable technician who did a great job in applying Step One. He explained what he would be putting down today and what it would do for the lawn. He rang my doorbell, introduced himself as well as your new hire Kevin, who will assist him although still in the learning stage, but he seems to have the qualities needed to become a top technician when he is on his own his a short time. As mentioned to Adam, my main problem now seems to be dandelions, which he treated and I am comfortable that they will disappear shortly. Overall, I was more than happy with the service received.

Joseph came for the first treatment of the year and when talking he mentioned things he remembered from last year regarding problem areas in the lawn and where we like him to focus for tick and mosquito control. That carryover of service and attention to details is why I have stayed with MG since switching to them a few years ago.

Im new to Mainely Grass (I started last Fall) but I am already impressed by the improvement in my lawn. Ive done the work myself for 26 years and never got the results that Mainely Grass did in less than one year. In addition to great work the customer service attitude of the company and the technician who comes is outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Last summer (2023) I had called to cancel my membership and did not have any additional services. A couple of weeks ago my lawn was sprayed and I was charged for the service without ever requesting reactivation of my membership. I called and Ashley verified that yes, she could see notes documenting that I had requested cancellation and that I would be refunded. No refund was ever initiated so I called back again today and was told that any future appointments were canceled but that I was not going to receive a refund for services that I never requested or gave authorization for.

Cory did a great job and provided the information I needed to keep my puppy safe!

The tech (Joshua) showed up early and I asked if he could come back later because the wife was still sleeping. He was very accommodating and came back after ten. He explained how he was going to protect the area that I had planted grass seed. He knew his job as far as I am concerned. Very professional.

Im very happy with their service. My technician Patrick does the fertilizer for me and is SO Careful with my plants that are very sensitive to chemicals. He knows exactly where they are and makes it a point not to get close to them. My other technician Michael takes care of the insects and other pests like ticks and mosquitos. I asked him to double dose my yard last time due to the extreme wet and humid conditions. He did and I think that took care of the problem. Nice Going You Guys. We moved in a year ago and the first summer our own was gross. Patches, mossy, sections covered in weeds instead of grass. After a full spring and summer of their services . oMG. What a difference! I m not mowing dirt anymore. My front yard looks like it s professionally serviced (bc it is). My backyard is still a work in progress but it s almost there. The shocking change is so evident. And I barely did anything more than follow their instructions minimally. Imagine if I did!! Which I recommend, bc I think it would be even better. I put in minimal effort and it still flourished. I m really impressed. And the customer service is awesome. They spent a long time on the phone answering questions and recommendations. Not overselling. This season we have used all services available I think. We know for sure our yard had never looked so great. Neighbors and family have made many comments. Our most recent service was aeration with over seeding. The technician knew his job very well. He took great care around the water lines we have for irrigation. The tick and mosquito treatment from Mainely Grass is as good as it gets - it s the real deal. Stephen came and sprayed my property about three weeks ago. Yesterday I mowed my lawn at dusk, in shorts and a T-shirt, and did not see a single mosquito. By the way, my house is in the woods and situated on a small pond which is basically mosquito heaven. I also have not found any ticks on my yellow lab since the application. If you re on the fence about trying out tick and mosquito prevention, consider this your sign to call MG and give it a try. I purchased a home in Maine about one year ago. The large lawn was in very poor condition, bare spots much Crabgrass and weeds. I went on-line and found Mainely Grass. They sent a rep. out the next day to analyze my lawn. I was so impressed with his knowledge and honest evaluation that I signed up. I must say, I am very pleased with the time and attention they have given my property. It is actually starting to look like one of the best lawns in the neighborhood. I will certainly stick with Mainly Grass and look forward to a beautiful lawn this when I put out my Adirondack chairs.

They sprayed our garden plants and killed all of our bees and butterflys. We worked very hard top attract them and they killed them by spraying them with tick and mosquito spray. Why would they do something so irresponsible????

This is my first season with When Mainely Grass. This morning I went out to talk with the technician, Alex. He was pleasant and knowledgeable and unhurried. He listened patiently to my concerns. He gave practical, flexible advice. At my request, he used a device to check some brown spots to see if the soil was compacted and/or absorbing water. I was very impressed with his service.

True Green could not get rid of weeds over a two year period. My guess is they were using water instead of weed control. Mainely Grass got rid of 99% of the weeds in just two services.

Grass greened up nicely, however crabgrass is also flourishing. It has been several weeks (April 19) since preemergence treatment. Most other weeds were affected, but crabgrass still growing well. Maybe it needs another treatment?

Just had my first treatment. It was a very positive experience. The technician, Hollis, was great. He answered all my questions, explained what could be done now to prep the lawn for fall aerating and seeding. He even told me how to know when enough water was on lawn using a sprinkler or hose. He even offered to water it after putting down the fertilizer. The fertilizer is pet and kids safe too. High recommended

I had some questions regarding my lawn and some serious tree root issues. A Tech, Mike came out and gave me some excellent alternatives on how to fix the issue. He was polite arrived on time and was very professional.

Mainely Grass has done an outstanding job in providing for our lawn care needs. Our technician Hollis Martin is spectacular. We have used lawn services for over four decades and Mainely Grass and Hollis have exceeded all our expectations .

I was so excited at how the grass was looking after having it aerated, seeded, and top dressed in the fall. It was notably greener than others in the area. Now, a few weeks after the first round of fertilizer, the grass is chemically burnt. In some places, it s so white, that I m not sure it will even come back this season.

First day of service. Tech came out on time and explained what he was going to do. Once done, the tech came back and explained any next steps and asked if we had any questions. I was very pleased with this first service and look forward to the next one thanks

Before beginning, Matt went over what kind of treatment he would apply to my yard. We discussed doing a Seeding later in the summer or early autumn. He advised that I have the yard soil tested before such a treatment. Matt was helpful, and provided some thoughts on the condition of my yard.

The results are great and I would recommend Mainely Grass. The one issue I had was in the beginning around the area that was covered. I was told before I signed up that coverage will include the entire backyard but it ended up being around half of it. I was told that the backyard was too big and could not be covered in the package I had signed up for. It was not pleasant to discover this at the first service. Taken 1 star away for that. Other than that, I am fully satisfied with the results of the services performed. I will be using their services going forward.

I ve been using Mainely Grass for 2 years now on a newly established lawn. With collaboration, Mainely Grass has exceeded my expectations for the stability and looks of a very immature lawn. With Mainely Grass s expertise my lawn looks like a 10 year established lawn. I am very interactive with the team and have never been dissatisfied nor disappointed with the work or the overall outcome. This was the second time that Mike Flaherty worked our property. He checks in with us prior in order to orient and answer any questions and preview the aftercare plan. Took great care with the aeration and seeding process today, and the used the blower to clean up driveways and sidewalks. Touched base with me after finishing to reinforce the watering schedule and its importance in the germination process. All in all, Mikes professional and interpersonal skills are top-notch and we await the fruits of his labor in the coming weeks. BRAVO. ENCORE.

Great service. Use them throughout the seasons for seed, fertilizer, lime, etc. Night and day difference in my lawn compared to a year ago. Everyone who comes knows what they are doing. Had their senior lawn expert over once to check on things, too. Now have one of best lawns in my neighborhood.

In the past we have asked to not have fertilizer applied during extended dry conditions. We do not have irrigation. This year, you did not do so, and your employee, went out of his way to come during the rain in July to do the application. This appears to have been very effective, and we appreciate the effort, So thanks from us. It looks better this fall.

Tried to get my lawn sprayed, but found this company has major communication issues. We had a hard time getting ahold of them to find out when they would show up, and then came in without giving us notice. Maybe they were having a bad month, but Im concerned about my dog who I then unknowingly exposed to freshly sprayed chemicals. Communication is too important to me when dealing with contracts and I had to cancel my service.

I had a pretty poor experience with Mainely Grass. They showed up on a day s notice to spread pre-emergent on my lawn that is already majority dead weeds. I was planning on throwing some seed down (there was already some down when they spread it), but now I have to wait two months. This was allegedly a free appointment. When I expressed my displeasure with the appointment, I was charged 50 dollars. I had a customer service rep sympathize with me and say that I could buy loam and be fine. Something about getting (and paying for) an unwanted appointment and then paying even more money to undo what they did doesn t sit well with me at all. I still don t know if I m officially unsubscribed from their services because I m going on two weeks without an email response. To be completely honest, I don t ever remember signing up for 2020 services at all.

Schedule through the regional manager an oversees and aeration to be done. Two weeks later no schedule time and original grief from customer service saying we only perform aeration and overseeing in fall Well you manager said I needed it do to damage and compaction. So what do I get ....A hard time , no schedule date on callback, left in chat room for over three minutes with no reply in middle of a chat. You people are actually terrible at service and I have been with your services for about 10 years. Bye bye.....

This is the only company that sprays your lawn and everything around it for Ticks and Mosquitoes. I did have trouble with some of the technicians not understanding where to spray and what was considered my lawn despite all the notes I had added to my account HOWEVER today I spoke with Technician Dan B and he is AMAZING!! we had a 5 min conversation and he did exactly what I asked and fully understood what needed to happen! He is for sure the BEST and I will only have him spray my lawn from here on out. I will also say despite my frustration with the previous Techs not spraying properly or as requested Mainely Grass Customer service has also been outstanding and would re spray any time there were issues! Mainely Grass has been servicing our property for mosquito and tick control. Their technicians are always courteous and professional. Last year we used another service and had breakthroughs of mosquitoes between service. Mainely Grass has been very responsive and sent out their technicians when we notify them of an issues. Great company to work with!!

I am not happy with the response for my Lyman ME property. I am next to a lake and I understand you cannot spray with in 30 feet of the lake, but weeds are thriving 75 and 110 feet from the lake. I have repeatedly called the company or sent emails, this is now August they should be dead by now. Its not like its hard to see them, they are very green.

I have contracted mainely grass since April of 2020. I couldn t be happier with the customer service and the outcome. My wife and I purchased our beautiful home two years ago and focused on the interior at first. Our acre of lawn (weeds) needed help. I tried to attack it last summer with little to no success... a job that requires a ton of time and two kids under three explains my lack of success. I bit the bullet, read reviews and hired these guys. At first I was skeptical as I felt like I was upsold on a soil test... so I decided to just spend the money and have them do it. I did the same and dropped it off at a local shop to see if it was true. Everything mainely grass told me was true. So I gave them the go ahead to do it all. Its the first of September of 2020 and I cannot wait for the core aeration and overseed scheduled. I was at my desk in my home offfice today and the doorbell rang, it was their technician Mark letting me know he s here to lay down some lime. I went outside to be greeted by him, this guy is the real deal! Not only did we shoot the breeze for a bit but he gave me some pointers on mower deck height and what needs to be done after the new seed is laid down. Having guys that enjoy their job, know their product and customer service that is above all makes me feel like I have made the right decision. I don t write reviews often but when an investment is made and is executed in a timely manner with good service.... it s hard to come by now a days.

We installed our irrigated sod lawn in 2014 and had fertilized/treated/ etc. ourselves through 2018 with not being totally satisfied or dissatisfied with the results. For 2019, we decided to employ Mainely Grass after having success with them on a grub issue at our previous residence. This year, our lawn has never looked better. No weeds, crab grass is a fraction of what it used to be, the grass is lush and its a beautiful dark green color. Obviously, we are most pleased with the results!

I used Mainely Grass when I lived in Maine and continued to use their services after coming to New Hampshire 10 years ago. Excellent value. Pleasant and efficient personnel. I recommend them to family and friends without hesitation!

It has been ok this season but I haven t seen a great difference in the grass quality. The last time they came out for crabgrass and weed control days later we had multiple spots pop up of weeds so I called them and they came back out and spot treated them. But i don t know if they over did it on those spots because it looked like they killed my grass. That s the only complaint I have with them. Not sure about the product or maybe how it is being applied. Hopefully next year will be better.

Always prompt, call or text before they come. They have also come back for a second spray if first wasn t effective.

Mainely Grass consistently notified me the day before every treatment. The fertilizer applications kept the lawn green. However, the weed treatments were very ineffective. Even after calling to report the issue and a follow-up visit, Spurge and dollar weed and others continued to flourish. I believe the technician never took the time to look for the weeds, then treat them. I rate their service as unsatisfactory.

I was out of town with no cell or email service so I missed the notification of my next service. I had just aerated and seeded the lawn a couple of weeks earlier. I had been scheduled for winter fertilizer and pre-emergent. They came while I was away and they did notice that I had just seeded the lawn and did not use the pre-emergent that would have prevented the new seed germination. I am glad they had taken the time to take a look or my fall seeding would have been useless. Great attention to detail. Thanks

My lawn this year was not as good as when I did it myself in years past. I know we had a drought this year but I have and automatic sprinkler system that watered every day so that could not have been the problem. If you are to continue doing my lawn going forward I need to see improvement. Coming just once a month to do the fertilization does not work, someone needs to review the lawn on a more frequent basis. If this is not how you operate then I will have to cancel your services.

I am not implying that Mainely Grass can control the weather; however, checking the weekly forecast might preclude scheduling on days where rain is expected. Wind is another issue, but that situation is definitely more unpredictable. When cancellations occur, I wish Mainely Grass would place that customer at the TOP of the reschedule list. Waiting sometimes up to 10+ days to get rescheduled is unacceptable and should be remedied!

The lawn didn t look very good through most of the summer because of the drought. I think the lawn service tried but they didn t offer any discounts because of the lousy looking lawn. Every service had a different technician so nobody got to know my yard. They are also skimpy with their pest control products. I have had other lawn fertilizer company and this one is still probably better than average. I paid a lot to have my lawn re-seeded in the fall which turned out ok but they didn t give a break in price even though the drought caused it and I had paid them basically all summer to put fertilizer on dead grass. I may or may not keep them next season depending if I hire anybody at all but if I do I probably will give them another chance.

Really loved the service and follow up from Mainly Grass - both John S and Michael were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable - they gave me a better understanding on what was happening and I believe I have the support I need to make our spec home beautiful for our future home owner!! I had used Mainely Grass at my old home about 10 years ago. I was very satisfied with their service and my lawn looked amazing. When I purchased another home, I went with price and chose another company. Over the ensuing years, I tried a total of 3 other companies with less then desirable results. I called Mainley Grass again - and again my lawn looks amazing! They are fairly priced. Not the cheapest and certInly not the most expensive. Their product is great and their service is excellent. They are responsive and timely when called and will work with your unique circumstances. These guys are good!

Excellent professional and personal service and good results with 2 exceptions: 1. Since the material is spread with a motorized machine, the edges either end up with insufficient weed killer, lime, etc, or seed overspread into adjacent gardens creating more work for the garden maintenence. 2. The aeroation and overseeding has not improved the areas that have invasive grasses (bent). Not sure how to solve that problem. Bent grasses brown easliy, even with a sprinkler system?) and continur to spread in a spotty patytern in the yard. Solutions?

We hired Mainly Grass for the first time this passed summer. We had never used any lawn service before. The representative who visited our home to help us decide on the service we needed and give us an estimate was very professional. He arrived on time. The representatives we spoke to on the phone were courteous and accessible. The services promised were provided by courteous employees who informed us of what they were doing or left a note. All services and payments were recorded on an online account that is easy to understand. We felt like we received very good service for a great price and our lawn shows it.

Most of my service has been fine. I am concerned with all my treatments why I have seen signs of mole recently which would probably be an indication of grubs. Not happy about this.

My experience with Mainely Grass is with their spray program for ticks and mosquitoes. As a first year customer I received excellent service except for one issue where my home needed to be resprayed. My contact with Mainly Grass, through their office via email was excellent. When I had the only problem, I was assurred that another agent would return at no cost to me to respray my yard. I will continue to use Mainly Grass next summer.

We have been very pleased with Mainly grass. The contract is clear, and they do what they say they will do. When I have asked them to do something different or new, they are responsive: for instance, carry some heavy pots or turn over a compost pile. We are happy customers.

Greg Holden came property for aeration and over seeding. He did a great job. the only problem we have had is that from the beginning of September until a few days ago we have had only .17 of rain. Finally got a single shower of .20 . I am 84 years old and have been watering more than 12000 sq ft of lawn. When I started it took me 5 hours a day with two hoses. went to 3 hoses and cut it down to a little less than 4 hours. I know it is not your fault for the lack of rain. I am running out of energy. I do have new grass growing but still have bare or thin spots. Maybe in the spring during the rainy season you could reseed the bare spots--not the entire lawn. no more aeration will be needed. I am down to using a single hose to spray the bare areas hoping for any rain we can get

I thought I would see better results. Didnt see a great difference in crabgrass or weed reduction, (little yellow flower), violets, also had some bare spots. Ill let it go another season, but will be watching to see if there is improvement.

I will certainly testify, that my Lawn here in Wells, Maine, that was put in last year at my new home, looked great last year when it first came in. Then the spring of 2018 came along, it its certainly was not looking very good. I jumped on board with Mainly grass in late june of this year, so I missed the first fertilizer application. Once Your guys started their fertilizer program, and thanks to mother nature to give the lawn some good moisture, it really started bouncing back by late summer. Now its late October, and thanks to the fertilizing, aeration and overseeding that was done, my lawn looks fantastic, and much thicker than earlier this year. i wll admit that my first year of service with Mainely Grass left much to be desired. Tech was not knowledgeable, situations of overspray damaged some of my bedding plants (although temporarily), and my property being directly on a bay I was concerned about product contents, run-off, and percolation into shore waters. I had been assured that all products were safe. After receiving product labels, I determined many were not in my estimation. Gave Mainely Grass a temporary test run this season. Techs were knowlegeable and factual. They understood my concerns about the bay. No products have been used that might harm the bay. Each tech came to my door and explained what would and would not be used and why. After fall aeration, overseeding, and fall feeding I feel that my lush front area sod and even the back slope (not irrigated but showing hope) have been well serviced without harm to my local environment. Thank you Mainely Sod for underrstandiing people like me! Please continue with product transparency and possible effects on environment.

Mainly Grass acts in a totally organized and professional way with their service, processes, and customer service. Most importantly our lawn is stunning from May through October. Seriously, as a small business owner we demand that the money we spend on our business has a payoff and I feel the services we receive are impactful and fairly priced. Additionally, any time I have an issue or want to add or change the time of a service I get treated like a valued customer. No rules or policies are more important than my satisfaction. Lastly, the employees who come to do the service are all cut from the same cloth. Friendly, competent, efficient, and happy to be flexible and do whatever is needed.

Good for the most part. However they did a terrible job at aerating and over.seeding. They aerated and seeded several area that were not part of the lawn, and my brick patio and brick front walk had grass growing up between the bricks. Ive had this service for several years and have never had this problem before.
