Scheduled online J&A last night for today for a clogged sewer line. Very respectful and honest. Solved our problem at a reasonable price. Cleanup could be improved (had to mop the upper floors after they left) and could use a little more clarity around what time to expect technician arrival, but they did call before coming. Would definitely use again.

Nate was great! We invested in a wonderful Navien NG Tankless water heater and Nate (the J&A installer) did a fantastic job!

Everyone I spoke to at this company were very kind and respectful, even as a woman calling and working with them. They were able to see us the next day after I called about our furnace and ended up installing a brand new system (heating and cooling) a few days later. This all happened during a snow storm and they wore shoe covers and did their best to keep the house clean. They also had to shovel a bunch of snow outside to install the cooling. There was some miscommunication but I could easily send a text to get it handled. They had great financing options and seemed to go above and beyond to help us out. They even lent out space heaters while we had to wait for the installation. Update: Changed to four stars due to water heater temperature being changed, fire alarm unplugged, and some very obvious differences in duct work.

We had a frozen pipe burst at night and Jesse F. was out the next afternoon and had the pipe repaired in just about an hour. Very easy to work and communicate with, along with a reasonable price.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! When you call J&A, you re greeted by a friendly receptionist who listens to your problem and gets you scheduled quickly (sometimes the very next day). The electricians call in advance to confirm their arrival time, and they arrive in a nice, well-stocked and well-marked company truck. They use shoe covers to protect your floors and are conscious about keeping their jobs clean. They review your problem, provide a written and fair estimate, and perform the work. I really appreciate my electrician in particular, Trevin, who is systematic, handles any unexpected issues that arise, and provides great explanations that help me learn more about my home. J&A is my go-to for electrical work, and I will likely use their other services as well (plumbing, HVAC, etc.).

Jesse was great. He replaced the refrigerator water supply line valve in 1.5 hours. He explained process & cleaned up. No leaks. Solid, good value workmanship!

We received an estimate for installing a faucet for our kitchen for over $1,500 we called another company and we had the whole job done for $300 do I need to say anything else I doubt it

J&A was highly recommended by a friend of ours, so when we had a major sewage issue (that was identified by a different plumber), we called J&A for a 2nd opinion. They agreed with the assessment of the first plumber, but did the job for 2/3 of the price of the first plumber. They came out promptly, were super professional, and did an all around awesome job correcting our issue. I would definitely call them again!

We needed a lot done, a new expansion tank, a gas line needed removed and capped, and a waterline that needed replaced. The technician came and did a great job, he was pleasant and did the work quickly then cleaned up after himself. We are very pleased with his work.

Christian was very helpful and worked for a long time to try to get a toilet drain that was thought to be just clogged but is actually frozen. He gave me a couple tips to try while waiting for the drain to defrost. I would definitely recommend him to come to my home again for any plumbing concerns

Had an aggressive altercation with their driver. I contacted the company to report it and they ignored me. So now Im here to tell everyone how a J&A van barreling down 885 south in the middle of rush hour tailgated me in a 35 MPH zone and decided to overtake me on the right hand side. He then swerved towards me, threatening like he was going to hit me. He sped ahead of me and crossed towards my fender and slowed down trying to physically pin me into the guardrail with nowhere else to go. Then he tried slamming on his brakes in front of me at least four different times to cause an accident while I kept distance. I have this entire incident on a dash cam for proof as well but they would rather ignore the incident hoping that Im just going to go away. Im not. And neither is the Baldwin Police Department.

All personal were outstanding. They explained everything about my furance. Told me how often to change the filter. The furance is working superbly. They lent me electric heaters until furnace was installed.

There was a problem with the igniter. This guy came and said he had to replace the whole water heater without even looking at it. He said it would cost 2700. Later I fixed it myself. This has nothing to do with the money, but with the attitude.

Weve been with J&A for years now and dont plan on changing a thing. Our tech, Steve always does a fantastic job and is a chill dude. Always on time and super informative! Excellent service all around.

Company can afford all their fancy new marketing by price gouging and overcharging. I have used them for years and their tactics havent changed. Offer a low cost membership plan that will dispatch someone to your house at no charge. Then, regardless of the problem, offer numerous eye wateringly expensive options to fix a problem you may or may not have. They do this regularly at each furnace or AC service. The final straw was when they recently charged me $800 to install a $150 dollar garbage disposal. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else. Also, as to the canned response from the company.. I had a call in with them to give them a chance to correct the problem before the review. Still waiting for a response back.

Hutch was great! Cleaned out the waste pipes and patiently explained the accompanying video. Made recommendations of short and long term solutions. Even gave suggestion on something I would never had considered: flush more!!

My previous HVAC technician was unable to fix the problems I was having with my furnace. I contacted J&A and someone was able to come out that same day. Steve was very professional and thorough. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained everything in detail. He even advised me on routine maintenance I was not aware of. And of course, the furnace is working normally now - highly recommend!

After three visits in fewer than 24 hours I was left with a furnace that didn t work. I called for a follow up appointment on Christmas Eve before they closed but they did not get back to me. I was left without heat on Christmas and they haven t called to schedule a follow up appointment to repair the furnace after Christmas. They have junior technicians who are inexperienced. The repairman from another company said he can t believe they weren t able to diagnose a basic problem. Overall poor service. Also, I made the mistake of buying into their club for $149, a membership which clearly hasn t any value. Go with another company.

Nate was awesome with fixing our plumbing. He helped install a new kitchen drain and basement stack to correct the leaking that occurred. The tubing connected to my garbage disposal was leaking. I tried replacing the tube myself and it worked for a day and started leaking as soon as I used the disposal. Nick, from J&A Plumbing came and replaced all the tubes under the sink connecting the garbage disposal and dish washer and it looks absolutely fantastic. Nick did a great job and I will definitely use them again. I am a very happy customer.

Appointment was rescheduled because they were busy. The tech then brought the wrong parts for my repair and had to reschedule again. Then he arrived later than expected. Then he had to go out and get more parts. Fairly negative experience. Dude was cool though.

Summer 2023 We had been getting the run around from our home warranty and another company they were contracted with. They kept pushing the date back and we had been without heat for two weeks at this point. We found J&A and they did an estimate and made the repairs the same day. I will recommend and will use them for everything else moving forward. 11/25/24- Donavan was timely, friendly, and efficient. Before he left he ensured there were no other issues as well. My 30 year old electric furnace was flooded underwater. I spent a futile couple of weeks and a few hundred bucks swapping out parts before eventually calling J&A. Alvin showed up and within 10 minutes was able to diagnose exactly what was wrong. Because my furnace is so old, he didnt have parts for it on hand, but he was able to find new replacement parts for my ancient furnace from the original manufacturer and practically rebuilt the entire thing. The day of the repair, once the parts came in, took maybe half an hour. Maybe. Could have been 20 minutes. Alvin is an absolute pro. He is also very friendly, has a great attitude, and I would hire him 100 times over before thinking of calling another company. Thank you!

I had a sewer line leaking, that my insurance had problems with fixing it. And my wife said, Call this company J & A services. So Matt came and put a camera down my sewer and gave me options and worked with my insurance and me for payment Without the cost of 15,000 dollars to tear out and rebuild a load bearing wall. How about that. I ended up paying 3089dollars and my insurance was willing to pick up the rest to make the fix happen. None of this would have been possible, except Matt from J A Services, who is one of the most friendliest persons I have ever in my life. Making a fix for my house that we could stay in my house. I thank you Sir, for what you worked with us and made possible of a repair that I had been trying to get fixed for 4 months. Again thank you J and A, and Matt from J and A services.

Difficult access to the inlets, (old house) but he kept on trying different methods until the blockage was removed. Very professional, great service, and salvaged our weekend, being able to shower and clean dishes and use the toilets again!

Called J&A for a second opinion. Was told by Sullivan that my furnace was leaking carbon monoxide, they turned off my gas, gave me an estimate of 5300 to repair the laundry list of things wrong. J&A came out promptly and following inspection was able to tell me what was wrong, not on Sullivans list btw, and also nothing Sullivan said was found by J&A. My experience with J&A was very positive. I needed an electrician to get me some quotes and fix an issue I was having. Setting an appointment was straightforward and simple and the communication and service I received from Jeff Gamble was what I would ve hoped for. I was notified when he was headed my way and he arrived on time and was efficient in getting me quotes and fixing the problem I was experiencing.

I was having dimming and flickering issues all throughout the house. I called for same-day service and Mr ed sninsky of J&A came within hours. He was friendly and polite, and explained every step of his process and diagnostic. He was very thorough and found the issue to be outside the house. I was able to call the electric company and have them replace the line from the pole that same night. Without Ed s expertise, I would have been lost. I will be sure to be calling him in the future for any electrical issues and referring him to friends and neighbors.

I ve been meaning to post this review, but certainly didn t forget!! Mike Cadwallader and the rest of the J & A team did a phenomenal job at my home. When I m feeling nice, I like to say that the previous owners of our house had a lot more confidence in their DIY skills than were warranted. After dealing with decades of deferred maintenance and kludges for the past five years, I don t often feel nice. After several failures, we decided to replace our gas water heater with a new hybrid electric model. Nate came out, set us up with a system design, arranged for the electrical service, and identified and fixed some other plumbing issues caused by said previous owners. J&A wasn t actually the low bid, but I was impressed by Nate s attention to detail and commitment to good service. Although they were working under some challenging conditions, we had hot water back within a few hours. Nate came back later to install a new shutoff valve and pressure regulator for us, and after one more visit to adjust the regulator, our water is working better than it ever has. I highly recommend J&A South Park for plumbing! UPDATE 12/24- Used Nate s services twice more to remove unused gas lines and hazardous gas valves. Still great!

Not only did they resolve my issue, but they also took the time to identify and listen to other concerns I had, but didnt try to upsell me on more work but instead let me know everything was likely fine as is and wasnt worth ripping into my walls as I feared was necessary. We moved into a new home and have used J&A twice now, first Donovan came out to help with some electrical work, adding outlets, checking on a fan that wasnt working, wiring for a dishwasher. He was extremely professional and explained everything that he did for us and why. We were so happy with the company, we called them again yesterday evening. Hutch was here today after a plumbing emergency left us panicking. Within 3 minutes, the problem was solved. Our plumber was Billy. He did an amazing job fixing and correcting the horrow show we had in our basement. All our pipes and water tank were flipper installed, so nothing was done right. It was a world of difference by the time they were done. Proper and ample shut-off valves up the walls and lines were organized and color coded, and they made sure the hot and cold water were going where they were supposed to go. Not the cheapest but, my god, worth every penny!

The job we had completed by Billy with J & A Plumbing was very well done. Billy was polite, professional, he was punctual, and answered all of my questions. The job was reasonably priced compared to two other companies. I would definitely recommend and use J & A again in the future.

We couldn t be more pleased. Michael was great and went above and beyond to get our plumbing situation straightened out. He not only made us a priority, he really helped us understand the process, how a home owners claim would work, and how they could help guide us through the process. Mike is the man!

In the spring we needed some plumbing work done on our gas line. When J&A gave us their quote we discovered that we could save some money by signing up for their annual maintenance agreement which included an annual air conditioner and furnace inspection. We scheduled the ac inspection for early summer and when the inspection date arrived J&A delayed the appointment sighting many emergency appointments. We agreed to the delay because it was on a few weeks. After the inspection, at which they tried to sell us unnecessary equipment, we scheduled our furnace inspection for November 12, 2024. On November 11th J&A contacted us to say that they would need to delay the inspection until sometime in January of 2025. After being delayed twice we feel that the company is being disingenuous and that they don t care about doing our inspection because we have already paid. I will not use them again.

This included a complete check of ALL-things electrical (from the fuse box, to a selection of outlets inc. GFCI, indoor/outdoor, and more). The word thorough does not do the inspection justice and, for us, also educational which some people dont appreciate or need but we really enjoy. Learned so much!! And thanks to Elena in customer service/scheduling - super helpful in answering quick questions and relaying info. 2/1/2023 Adding onto this review to provide additional POSITIVE feedback on services since using the Steel CIty Protection Plan. We had our furnace (humidifier, etc.) checked--as part of that plan--by Tony a few months ago. He provided an update to our thermostat as the digital was not reliable and it has, since, worked better and is appreciated (and I believe this was also covered under the plan!). Then we were having issues with a very loud condensate pump (LOUD!!) and Tim Vlahos came out to check it and we made a plan on what to anticipate if it started failing while he explained how it worked (because I was interested). So today we had it replaced by Tony and Jacob who were efficient, pleasant, and super kind. Just cant recommend J&A enough (from customer service reps to schedulers to technicians). Love working with you all, We have been customers of J&A for over two decades now, and have trusted them with all installation, service, repair, and maintenance needs - primarily with HVAC, but also plumbing and even a false alarm on a carbon monoxide situation. UPDATE 20241119: Brock N. did a kick-ass job replacing my faucet. UPDATE 20241030: J. Gamble is AWESOME and not only helped replace a 50 year old chandelier covered in bones (literally) to a long lasting LED sleek light, but also upgraded my house to what truly is the 20th century. (The LEDs are 21st century thankfully.) HOWEVER, the coordinator Edgar from Philadelphia originally said that nothing could be done and I had to call in a second time to get on the schedule; which I am glad I did. Allen & Nick are PHENOMAL!!! Not only were they professional, they were fun and great to work with! Every question I had they answered, and the quality of their work is second to none. Not only did he help secure my insta- heat hot water heater, but he answered all my questions AND helped me play a prank on my son saying were going without hot water for a few days. His professionalism, knowledge, and friendly attitude put all my worries at ease. J&A, you have a kick-ass crew and you should promote everyone that had ever serviced my home. Mike from J&A was professional, skilled and customer friendly. He diagnosed the problem quickly and corrected it just as quickly. The quality of his work displayed his expertise. We have always been more than pleased with J&A.
