Helped with a very last minute and huge project for a local hotel dealing with burying gas lines, fixing a large lawn and repairing all affected flowers, trees, mulch, etc. Wonderful work and so happy they were able to accommodate a last minute and tight timeline!

K&D installed french drains and drainage improvements around our house. They were super professional, kind, polite, fast, and professional in every way.

They repaired a cracked water line and inspected the irrigation system. Professional and timely service. I would recommend them to friends and family

Our front lawn was a complete mess (gophers despite a great gopher guy; grass was mostly weeds; irrigation created many dry areas and also too wet spots; the lawn was way too big and the railroad tie borders were very unsightly. Most of the plants in the beds bordering the lawn were very over-grown and the wild African daisy ground cover had also over-run into the beds and regularly tried to take over the lawn as well. We got a few bids and decided to go with K&D based mostly on the size and expertise of the crew and equipment they have. It would have been a very hard job a smaller firm and at least one such firm said it was too much of a stretch for them. K&D was the most expensive but Im glad we made the decision to work with them. Our lawn is now truly beautiful with a nice concrete border and a large well-mulched set of bordering beds. There are no RR ties left to be seen although some of them are still there. (Weed fabric and heavy mulching extended the borders and is helping keep the African Daisy in the wild meadow and not in beds/lawn.) As with any large and relatively complex job, there were some issues that came up but they were resolved satisfactorily. With all the rain this Winter and Spring, the new plants/trees havent grown much so its hard to say how well they will look and do. They need to get through at least this growing season before I can assess them. Overall, you wont go wrong with K&D. I recommend asking alot of questions and writing down the answers. A mistake I made was not understanding where all the valve boxes would go; once placed, its way too expensive to fix. So we ended up putting mulch over the boxes to hide them. And we needed to change the planting design & add more at the very last minute which was OK and turned out better than the original design in any event.

After researching our options, we hired K&D to transform our water-thirsty lawns to gorgeous drought tolerant water-wise landscape and couldn t be happier! From initial consultation to final implementation the transformation was seamless and well-coordinated. Project manager Brian Gates communicated with us every step of the way. His subject matter expertise, dedication to customer service and follow though were remarkable. Kendel White s creative ideas truly elevated the project and the result was beyond our expectations. The team was always on time, hard working, and conscientious. They swept up at the end of each day and made sure our gates were locked before leaving. Our beautiful new drought tolerant landscape uses a fraction of the water while providing us with a lovely peaceful environment. K&D did an amazing job with a home we purchased last year in Adult Village. It was in sore shape before the storms hit last winter, then came torrential rains and heavy winds. The place was a mess. Working with Darlene, together we came up with a plan that fit the budget and made the entire outside (almost) maintenance free. A new fence, irrigation where it had never existed, trees that will stay green year round .I am one grateful, happy customer!

It took 3 phone calls and 5 days for them to tell me they didn t want to take my project on. Maybe they did me a favor it probably would have taken them 2 years to start!

We wanted to remove our unhealthy, weedy front lawn at our home in Santa Cruz. We were looking for a contractor that could do the very hard labor of excavating and preparing the space for a future low water landscape. Darlene, Eduardo and the rest of the fantastic crew at K&D did a great job completing this project for us. They were flexible and accommodating - working with us on an add-on walkway once the work was already underway and a last minute change of material to be used in the beautiful flagstone pathways they set. The crew was prompt, friendly and extremely conscientious. As another reviewer noted, their thorough clean-up at the end of each day was greatly appreciated. Being a street front property, they were also very mindful of our neighbors with regards to parking, traffic, etc. I know our project was small compared to their others but you would never know by their attentiveness and responsiveness. We re already looking forward to working with them again as they help us tackle our back yard!

Everything about our experience with K&D was top notch. We got more than one estimate and others were lower, but K&D was the most responsive and professional by far, so we went with them. Kendal and the rest of the team proved to be real pros, and when all was said and done the final invoice was way lower than K&Ds initial bid, and lower than anyone elses! We live on a hillside and had significant water erosion issues. K&D offered a great solution, but the hill wouldnt allow for heavy equipment so the team had to dig and haul everything by hand. Very difficult work. Nevertheless, the all worked efficiently and effectively. The work took place along the property line, and the guys made sure my neighbor was informed and involved with any work that could impact his property. The team was well supervised, always on time, always polite and responsive, never cut corners, kept the place clean, and they finished the project in less than the amount of time they estimated. And, ultimately, the finished product looks fantastic! We look forward to working with K&D again.

K&D did a complete front and back yard for us. Jeremy Ross was our project manager. The end result is a resort quality space, complete with an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, drought tolerant plants, a paver driveway, several pacer patios, and a beautiful Ipe deck. The entire project was delivered on time, and on budget. I have, and will continue to recommend Jeremy and K&D landscaping to all my friends and family.

The end to end experience from Jeremy and the team at K&D was top notch. Jeremy engaged with us early and we worked through the plan and schedule for the upcoming project. Note: Jeremy was very busy and booked months in advance but set aside the time to get us scheduled and start the process. Shortly after getting the initial plan together, Jeremy connected us with the landscape designer to convert the vision into a plan. Liz (Wildflower Landscape I believe) was amazing to work with as well. Once the work started, Jeremy and Josh put a very skilled and attentive team on the project. The team was flexible in working through a few open items and unplanned changes to ensure we were happy customers. Josh was on top of it and Jeremy was available via text/call when needed. The stonework quality is phenomenal. We get many compliments from visitors and love using the outside space as an extension of our home. Many thanks Jeremy and team! Worth every penny.

Our HOA came to K & D with a design for new xeriscape at our clubhouse. We hired K & D for installation and yesterday the job was completed, on time and done well. It is beautiful, not only my opinion, but many of our 122 residents have commented on the efficient process. Alejandro, Jose, and Leo worked very hard and were professional in all the interactions. When we ran into a problem, both Raphael and Jeremy were quick to find a solution. Originally, the idea to install new landscaping at the entrance to Hidden Beach County Park was brought to my attention a year ago. When we were ready to initiate the landscaping project, I reached back out to K&D Landscaping s Community Beautification Project Coordinator. Darlene was our project lead; Darlene was always friendly and helpful as we decided the best location and plants to install at the entrance to the park, which would complement the playground replacement project ribbon cutting. The installation staff was courteous and efficient in their work and the plant selection looks incredible. The park visitors to the new playground are awarded a newly landscaped park entrance thanks to K&D Landscaping s generosity!

These guys are very conscientious and do high quality work. The whole team is nice too! They are very good with communicating, which was critical during our job. During our job we had an evacuation due to the fires, 2 multiday power outages thanks to PGE and our own neighborhood had an an unexpected water outage. They worked with us to reschedule every time. We had a designer do the overall plan but K&D contributed many good ideas to executing the details of the plan. If your situation is not complicated they probably can do the design themselves. We have received multiple compliments from our neighbors. Highly recommend!

K and D did a beautiful redo of our backyard including: a new patio, cement garden walls, new garden beds, landscaping and planting, building a wooden pergola. Josh was always responsive to our requests and changes. Workers always arrived on time, worked hard and thourougly cleaned up every day. They were also a joy to have around and were missed when the job was over! The workmanship was top quality! Once the job was completed there were a few things that needed changing and redoing. Josh and the crew came back and completed everything to our satisfaction with no extra charge. I have called on Josh a couple of times since then for things regarding the yard and he has responded immediately! K and D certainly stands behind their work! I would happily recommend this company!

This past September (2017) we hosted my son s wedding at our home. Of course we wanted it to be perfect for the couple, so we decided to overhaul our upper garden and install some hardscape features in our courtyard, where the reception was to be held. The upper garden was a hot mess of overgrown weeds and brambles, scattered rocks and a horrid shrub/tree that I was severely allergic to. I had contracted with K&D before on a small project, so decided to use them for this large redo. I worked w/ Shane on the design, which included a clean scrape of the existing space (except for a couple trees), leveling, debris removal, lighting, hardscape, and new plants/groundcover. Once we started work, his crew executed my vision flawlessly. Even when we had to do some off the cuff design modifications because of lighting placement issues, it was solved quickly, without impacting our finish date. In the courtyard, we replaced grass with flagstone, removed a three tier fountain, and installed a stone mosaic compass rose as the centerpiece. Josh and his hardscape crew were fabulous, making thoughtful design suggestions that really improved the flow of the new elements into my existing brick courtyard. Professional, responsive, deadline-oriented and respectful. I couldn t be happier with the K&D Landscape team and will definitely be using them again for future projects.
