As a relatively new homeowner with water damage in my basement, I was so grateful to this team for their help. The service was unmatched with excellent communication and service throughout. They helped me to understand the problem and how they were going to fix it without doing anything that was unnecessary. Highly recommend! We worked with ASL first for our driveway and retaining wall. They also worked on leveling our yard and fixing our fence at the same time. The team did such a great job we asked them to come back and work on a retaining wall in our backyard. Everything came out beautifully and on budget. ASLs pricing is very competitive and we got several quotes for the work that needed to be done from other companies. Bobby is very communicative and explains things very well. His team is professional and works quickly. I can't believe our yard looks the way it does now it looks better than I think we even imagined, we love everything they were able to do. I'm hoping we can work together again for future projects, I know they will be our go to!

I really hit the jackpot when I found Bobby Adams, the owner of ASL. He didn't ask me to leave this review, but he and his team deserve the recognition and my gratitude. I met Bobby when he gave me a quote on landscaping in my backyard after we had already hired a different contractor, who was trying to add an expensive layer to an existing project. Bobby came to my home the same day I called him. He explained to me how my current contractor was charging me double the price. He took the time to educate me about how my current contractor was skimping on things that should have been built into the original plan. He explained to me how to negotiate with my current contractor to improve the project, fix the flaws, and cut the price my landscaper quoted me in HALF. It worked! Bobby took the time to do this knowing that his advice would result in me using my original landscaper if they matched Bobby's price. Seeing how honest Bobby was, I was committed to using him for every project going forward. I didn't realize I would need him so quickly. WATER LINE - For months, we had water issues in our front lawn and driveway. We met with multiple contractors who diagnosed it as a ground water issue. I invited Bobby over to take a look. He was convinced we had a leak in our water line (even though my bill had never increased). We did. We received some quotes and of course decided to go with Bobby/ASL. The leaks were partially located underneath a retaining wall, elevated walkway, and landscaping. The other contractors claimed they would have to dismantle the retaining wall and hardscaping to repair the leak. On the other hand, Bobby and his guys came up with a brilliant way to replace the pipe while leaving everything undisturbed. While he was at it, he noticed a crack in my sewer line, which we surmised was when our first landscaper dug an exploratory hole in that area to potentially install an underground drainage system. Bobby fixed the sewer line in addition to the water line. He did the entire project within a day - all at a fraction of the other quoted prices. SEWER LINE - Fast forward another 2 weeks...I start getting water in a crawl space in my basement. I call Roto-Rooter, thinking there was a clog in the sewer line. When Roto-Rooter came to snake the line, they found a blockage in the sewer line they could not get past. They offered to immediately dig up my front lawn (again) and replace that area of the sewer line for a price. I called Bobby at ASL. Within an hour, he was at my house with a camera down the sewer line. The blockage was in an entirely different location than the previous repair. The next day, Bobby and his team were at my house. They repaired the sewer line and uncovered a buried and broken plumbing cleanout pipe we didn't even know existed. His team removed the boulder stuck in my sewer line, removed the portion of the sewer line that was cracked, and fixed the cleanout pipe to raise it above the ground. IRRIGATION SYSTEM - I also used Bobby's team to install an irrigation system in my backyard. His guys went above and beyond. In addition to the irrigation system, they replaced a leaky hose spigot and installed another PRV valve to fix our water pressure - all for a fraction of the price we received from other quotes just for the irrigation system. DRIVEWAY - In the spring, I'll be using ASL to repave my very large driveway and perform the landscaping in the front of my home. You will never meet a more responsive, honest, reliable, and fairly priced contractor than Bobby. His entire team is hardworking, professional, innovative, and clean. Each of them know their craft. My husband and I are so grateful to his team for saving us thousands upon thousands of dollars. He's also saved us a ton of time for future projects because I now know to not even bother seeking other quotes. We really regret not knowing him before we hired (and paid) a different contractor to perform an entire renovation of our backyard for our new pool.
We were referred to Bobby and his team at ASL by a friend, and we could not be happier with the outcome! We have little kids and our backyard was completely unusable, which was a really big deal to us. We knew that overhauling our yard would be a big project, because it required leveling, a retaining wall and drainage. Bobby worked with us every step of the way to make sure the project looked exactly how we envisioned it, and was done extremely professionally and in a timely manner. Not only did ASL create the backyard of our dreams, they even helped us create a play area for the kids! Will be using them in the future for ANY landscaping needs!
We just had a new patio built by ASL. From the first time we met Bobby right through to completion of the project, the ASL team has been brilliant. They take real pride in their work and the results speak for themselves. Nothing is too much trouble, they treat your home with respect, they explain everything really clearly and then deliver on time and on budget. A one stop shop - the work we had done included some siding repair and a gas line installation, and they took care of everything end-to-end.
Bobby and his team at ASL Landscaping did a terrific job redoing our backyard. They removed trees and shrubs, framed a new swing set area, built new pavers for a fire pit, graded our yard, put in French drains, put in fresh sod, installed a fence, and planted new privacy and decorative shrubs. Bobby was very easy to work with and is competitively priced. If you are looking for a landscaper, I highly recommend Bobby and his team.
Bob and team just re paved our driveway and installed a patio for our fire pit - we couldn t be happier! Bob was very easy to keep in touch with throughout and the crew did a phenomenal job. The work was through and we felt we could easily rely on the work to get done efficiently. Definitely recommend ASL for similar projects!
Rob and the ASL team did a great job for our drainage and patio project. We had water issues in the back yard and Robert came and walked us through our options and mentioned some things we hadn t even considered. We also wanted our patio redone and he said they could do drainage and patio at the same time. We love our new patio, definite upgrade, and our yard is now useable after the rain when previously it was a water-logged mess. Robert and team stuck to the budget, communicated well, and delivers what we think is a great value for money. We will be having ASL come back to do our front yard at some point.
Bob at ASL Landscape is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He helped me to fix a previous contractors work (drainage issue) and has withstood 3-4 heavy rains already. Fair pricing as well. He will also back the workmanship. I will gladly recommend Bob and ASL Landscape.
My husband and I have used ASL at 2 homes and 1 business. They did a huge job in Mountainside that included leveling the property and a huge paver patio, with fire pit and amazing landscaping throughout the property. It was amazing but we had to sell that property. We now live in Morris Plains where the property had not been touched in 15 years. It is tremendous. Ask Bobby for pictures or come see us. Bobby is the owner and he is amazing. I love giving our business to good people. Leveling the property, sod, paving, walkways, driveways, elaborate landscaping design - they do it all!
Cant say enough wonderful things about our experience with ASL and Bob! We recently had our old patio replaced with new pavers and from the first time we met he was professional, helpful as an expert in his field, provided me with recommendations that didnt feel like an upsell but instead felt like he was actually providing a full service experience from design to implementation. This was something that had been very hard for us to find in the two years that we have been planning this project. He also did some drainage improvements on our yard that have really made a great impact so far. We are already planning our next two projects and looking forward to doing business with Bob and his team in the future!
Robert and his team did a beautiful job replacing our patio and regrading around the foundation. Also cleaned up a few dirt piles and helped dig a ditch for gutter drainage. Would highly recommend!!
HOLY COW!! It is amazing how many things Bobby and his team are capable of. He moved tons and tons of dirt to flatten our property. He put in a huge patio with a gorgeous fire pit. The landscaping is tremendous and really special Lastly he just put down a brand new driveway 4 inches thick and it looks amazing! People drive by slowly and stop and look at our house now. He also helped with our water issues and did the low lighting to put that special touch on it. His crew is full of great people! Hardworking and friendly. We never thought we could spend what we did and get this much done! I highly recommend ASL!

ASL landscaping is great. Bob did an excavating in our backyard. He responded to my request quickly. Resolving our issue in less than 24 hours. All the work was done neatly. I will be using them again for other jobs in the future.
I m a 52 year old homeowner and I ve never written a review before. I was so impressed with ASL, I felt obligated to do so. Bob and the team at ASL did 2 separate projects for us. The first was to remove and reinstall our 13 year old paver patio which had settled substantially over time. When Angel and his crew finished the job, it looked like a brand new patio cleaned, pitched perfectly, with all new concrete edging and polymeric sand. We couldn t be happier. While doing the first job, I asked Bob if he could provide some advise on how to fix the standing water issues I had on the property. In a day and half, they installed all new drain pipes to handle the gutter leaders and sump pipe lines. Left the property clean and tidy when finished. Thrilled with his work and proudly recommend them. Bob is fast, responsive and values the customer.
ASL did a great job installing two retaining walls framing our garage. The project was relatively small compared to some, but it made a huge difference for us. Bobby was responsive, treated the project with professionalism, described the key points to make sure that the wall would last, and scheduled us within a reasonable period of time. The team that came out to do the work was lead by Christian. They were polite, friendly, and worked efficiently. They made sure we knew what was happening, were demonstrably knowledgeable about what was required to ensure a solid installation with proper drainage, and did a phenomenal job overall. We couldnt be happier. Bottom line: excellent service, fair price, friendly people.
I have only good things to say about Bobby and ASL Group. We had a fairly complicated project including retaining walls, yard leveling, lots of patio space, sod, landscaping, trees, drainage, name it! Bobby was very professional in reviewing the full scope with me, and he would make sure that I and my wife were 100% satisfied with every part of it. He made sure to review budget with me and checked in periodically to make sure we were staying on track, and he was very fair with his pricing. I would definitely recommend Bobby and his team; not only are they a pleasure to do business with, but they do amazing work!

I had engaged Rob last year to fix the drains in my backyard that had constant problem with rain water accumulating. I paid $10k in the hope that the problem will be taken care of. They installed several drains in the backyard which gave me the initial impression that a decent job was done. However, when it rained a few times, I realized the drains were inaccurately installed. In several instances, the drains were just installed too high above the ground and there was no way for the water to drain out. No drain filters were installed which led to dirt and debris continuously flow into the drain causing blockage. So whatever little the drains did was also not worth it. Rob promised me 10 times that he will fix the issue and never showed up. I finally engaged another contractor and paid more to fix the shoddy job that was done. In the end, the project wasnt as complicated but had to be just done right with some common sense. I will not recommend this company for this kind of work.
I can t say enough great things about Bob and his team. Their professionalism and knowledge is second to none, and the quality of work is top notch. Not to mention Bob is incredibly responsive in his communications and truly cares about the work and making sure customers are happy. We used them to install our new patio and retaining wall, and already planning future projects. I highly recommend ASL, and would be happy to be a reference if you re undecided in choosing a company to do your hardscaping.
I am glad I got I. Touch with Bobby from ASL landscaping for my Patio leveling. I had a negative slope which had to be fixed Bobby came to our rescue and not only fixed it within 2 days but also at a very good price. I would highly recommend Bobby and his team from ASL for any landscaping projects.
I had Bobby do a pretty huge project for me. Runaway project would be a better description. It started with me wanting a paved patio and walk way. About 800 square feet. This was coming out great, so I had him add on excavation and the building of a retaining wall, I disclosed that he would ruin my in ground sprinkler system in the process and he was happy to agree to rebuild my system afterwards. At one point I decided to have him plant over 20 trees to act as a privacy fence and bring in lots of top soil / seed to help grow grass. His price was very low on the trees, patio & top soil/seed. If I had done the top soil work myself it would have only saved me about $300. Considering it took 4 men all day with heavy machinery - this was a bargain price. I did not shop prices on the retaining wall, but knowing the material costs involved I felt that the price was fair when I agreed to the quote, later on to feel it was low considering how long the job took (he was not slow - it s just a very involved/labor intensive job). Every home improvement project I have done has had a hickup or two. My philosophy is that everyone including me makes errors. The character of a person is defined by how quickly they respond to, and address these errors. When I called Bobby to discuss the few things (which were pretty nit picky) I needed him to touch up, he agreed without hesitation. He also added a few things I didn t notice (a paver had a cut he felt could have been more exacting). He was then quick to rectify and follow up regarding my satisfaction. This to me is huge, he truly stand behind his work and makes sure the project comes out right. In the end the project came out perfect.
Bobby and ASL are fantastic. They installed a beautiful 1300 sqf patio. I asked for a concrete base which obviously costs much more compared to the typical base. Despite it being more, Bobby tried to talk me out of it and save me money! They did the work they were paid to do, clean, and professional. Price was very reasonable as I compared and quoted several contractors. Looking forward to having him back for a few other projects in the fall! If you are in New Providence NJ area, Bobby can use me as a reference if you want to see his work.

I highly recommend Bobby of ASL group and his crew! Bobby completed a number of various jobs for us including planting new bushes and plants, mason work, fixed a drainage problem, installed outdoor lighting, and mulches and trims our landscaping every year. Bobby is highly knowledgeable, honest, and very reliable. He takes the time with you to discuss all your needs. We have been completely satisfied with all of his jobs! His work is excellent!
We live in Berkeley Heights our backyard was a SWAMP!!! Bobby and his team came in and put French Drain s in the back yard and on the side of my house. With all this rain my basement was flooding and he knew just what do do and I m soo happy NO MORE FLOODING. He also did some landscaping and everything is amazing. He even suggested planning some of the work out in stages, which was very helpful. The property had a lot of overgrowth that needed to be cleared and the front of the house desparately needed a new design. Bob came with some great ideas, spent time with us - learning what types of plants we liked - and hit the ball out of the park. I couldnt be happier with the result. My husband and I just purchased our first home. The yard was a complete disaster. I called for a few different estimates. Most places gave really high quotes. I remembered my mom s neighbor had recently used ASL Group for their yard remodel. I gave them a call and Bob came out pretty quickly to discuss what we were looking to have done. He was very honest, friendly and easy to work with. His workers were extremely hard working and fast. They did an amazing job and completely made over our yard. *EDIT: Just wanted to add that at the time of service, one of our rakes was accidentally taken. No big deal, except that this happened in August, and now in January our rake was never replaced. This was after numerous conversations and texts back and forth that it would be. It s pretty minor, but it s the fact of the matter. I d still recommend, but how hard is it to return/replace a rake...
Today I used ASL group for clean up work, design work, and new soil and grass seed to cover where my pool was. I know I dont have a huge yard or anything crazy spectacular so I was passed by a lot of contractors. Not only that , I couldnt touch some of their prices ! I chose to go with ASL group because Bobby made me feel like a big fish in a small pond by taking the time to go over with me what was being done step by step and really went over the top ! Pictures dont do it justice ! Thank you Bob and crew for taking the time to make me feel special and a proud homeowner today ! I cant say enough positive things about them! Im very lucky to have crossed paths and would be proud to provide a reference to anyone ! 5 /5 stars !
ASL completely ripped out and re-planted landscaping around my deck at my home. The existing plantings that were over 30 years old were overgrown and completely out of control. Robert reviewed the project with me and we agreed to a budget to rip out and replant the area. I am completely happy with the result. It was a design build project and I left it yup to Robert to use his design ability to pick out the plantings. Robert always is easy to reach and is very proactive in letting you know the timing of the project, alerting to any delays because of weather etc... I will be using his company on future projects to enhance my property.
Bob did an amazing job refurbishing our pavers. I found him to be reliable, accessible and easy to work with. His recommendations were excellent. Our pavers needed some TLC and he brought them back to life! Thank you Bob!!
