It has always been a pleasure to deal with Travis Clark and Lawns of Texas. We had them work on a landscape project that turned out above and beyond what we had imagined. In fact we believe that the landscaping is what helped sell our house when we put it on the market. Additionally, their lawn service was consistently top quality. Regrettably we have moved to an area that they do not service, yet they still send their irrigation expert to take care of us when we have had a crisis. That’s what I call customer care!!

We had a rather large landscaping project after losing most of our established, rather old shrubs and other plants. Travis helped us visualize a more modern look and was very knowledgeable about the plants that do well in our environment. As with any large project, there were glitches along the way. Travis and Jimmy made sure those issues were not only addressed, but improved and fixed. I love my new landscaping and the updated curb appeal. I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by this company, contracted to mow the grass at our townhouse complex for several months now (possibly a year). Despite having ample time to deliver consistent quality, they have failed to complete their job correctly even twice in a row. Our backyard, which is one of the larger ones, is routinely neglected or done in a slapdash manner. Instead of using a push mower as requested, the worker often arrives with a weed whacker, which is completely inappropriate for the space. This approach leaves the yard looking uneven, poorly maintained, and far from the professional standard we expect. We've repeatedly asked for a push mower to be used, only to be met with excuses — either they claim the mower doesn't fit, or they simply "forgot" to bring it. This level of service is unacceptable and unprofessional. The company's failure to listen to requests and perform the job as expected reflects poorly on their commitment to quality. For anyone considering this company, I would advise looking elsewhere for reliable lawn maintenance. ETA: I am a resident at Columbus Heights, who is managed by TAM Residential. Our property contact is Liz at Tinsley Place. We contact her each an every time we have an issue with out lawn care.

No good attention to detail. This week LOT arrived to service the property that I manage. I went outside to ask the team to mind the parking lot weeds which have been notified once by email to LOT without response 5-17-24. They acknowledged and continued to work. I then was walking the property and noticed lots of work not completed (some weeds trimmed and other not no edging, large weed patch coming up thru the parking lot etc). I immediately sent an email to LOT to notify them of the lack of attention to detail. They responded back that they will be sending the team back out. They arrived again within the hour to focus on areas that have been growing out of control for some weeks of not a month now. Mind you I feel I shouldn’t have to be managing this, LOT should be setting these expectations with their staff since they are handed over the responsibility of this task thru contract. Upon doing a further walk around the property I notice the back is becoming also overgrown and basic areas that needed attention and sent an email to their office. They responded back with they will be sending the Operations Manager to assess the property and the work the team is doing. They use the excuse that the team is “new” and suddenly mention they were suffering from heat stroke the day prior? Again, it makes no sense because if they were then why did they come back out an hour later? Please take my review in consideration of the work I am now experiencing with LOT, it used to not be like this but now I feel the issues are too much and take too much of my time. I am sending communication to my corporate office to see if we can get bids from other landscaping companies. I will be willing to update and revise my review should the work and attention to detail improves.

If youre a young female and/or new home owner- BEWARE. Apparently not honest or transparent in estimates or costs of services. May or may not lie about what was already told to the client. For example, labor cost being ~100/hr (which is a reasonable cost for labor with an average being $50-100/hr) while on my property vs the $200/hr that was then quoted upon my questioning of the estimate and request for an itemized invoice. I was quoted $500 to repair 3 rotor heads (~$20 each per jimmy), 2 nipples under the rotor head (~$1 each per jimmy), 1 spray nozzle (~$1 each or a couple bucks per jimmy), and a valve box (~<$10 or $15 per jimmy). I was given these dollar amounts after specifically requesting an itemized invoice from Jimmy. I had already looked up the costs of those items and was quite confused with how ~<$100 (being generous) in parts with easy installations came out to a $500 job. Another estimate for a rain sensor was $388. Jimmy on the phone made the mistake of slipping the cost of the rain sensor (~$120) with a 30 minute installation. Even at the questionable $200/hr cost of labor charge youre still not accounting for all the dollars quoted on EITHER estimate. I had high hopes for Jimmy after he came to fix my sprinkler leak. He tightened something and thought he fixed it within 5- 10mins of arriving on my property then checked all zones and pointed out repairs needed as well as helpful suggestions for future upgrades to help save on water costs. I thought he went above and beyond with his customer service yesterday but maybe thats how they get folks? He didnt even charge anything yesterday so I thought him to be an honest man I was down to pay a fair price for his future work but then came the extremely vague estimates. So after my request for the itemized invoice I was called back and informed by Jimmy that he had talked to his boss and their system did not allow them to create an itemized invoice AND that no other businesses ever give clients an itemized invoice for their estimates. No sir, shady businesses trying to get over on people who do not know any better are the ones that refuse to provide transparency in what they charge for and why. Extremely disappointed I will have to take my work and money elsewhere because now I absolutely do not trust this business. I have posted a pic of one of the estimates for repairs so you can decide where youd like to take your business as well.

For the past two years weve depended on Lawns of Texas to take care of all our lawn maintenance and landscaping needs. They have provided superb service throughout this time. We even had them extend our back patio to give us more room for outdoor entertainment. They installed Belgard pavers to extend the patio and also incorporated a fire pit into the architectural design. Now we are blessed with a huge outdoor entertainment area throughout the entire year. All of the employees at Lawns of Texas have a positive and professional attitude. If you need lawn service or outdoor landscaping ideas, they are highly recommended.

Ive waited some time to write this review so that it would be as objective as possible and not clouded with the onset of emotions I had at the termination of our relationship. We contracted LoT from November 2015 through spring 2017. They were used for monthly mowing/trimming and fertilization and in March-August 2016 as part of our pool installation project since we already had a working relationship. PROS: LoT was quick to respond when I initially requested a quote for services; prices seemed reasonable; services were always executed in a timely manner and documentation was left on the door to show it had been completed; when billing was mis-charged the office manager was always willing to look into it and address it accordingly with an appropriate refund or application to our account. Our yard was a mess (probably one of the worst they had seen) because of our own neglect in realizing we had shut the irrigation system off. The mid-level turf program was able to bring it back within 10 months. CONS: I felt as though we followed through with our end of the maintaining the turf program, but when LoT started a landscape/hardscape project in our backyard, they cut off the sprinklers in the front. I had documentation to prove I called to get this fixed, but they still wanted to charge me to replace the sod. The project proposal included sod, but apparently did not include the necessary sod to cover where the plumbing was being laid for the pool (something that should have been a common sense thing since sod was being replaced where the backhoe was entering from the side to dig the pool and was included in the proposal)- when we realized this during construction and questioned this, LoT maintained that it was not in the contract and therefore we were responsible for paying an additional cost to have it re-sodded. (I do believe they may have provided us a better price and used any extras to lay down in the front where the grass had died out). We paid it because I couldnt have half the backyard a muddy mess. Unless theyve changed, their prices are actually not that much cheaper for fewer services (both in quantity and quality) than what Im currently paying/receiving now. Additional services were obviously an extra cost. However, I always felt like if we didnt have LoT take care of it, then there was always an excuse as to why they were not responsible for future concerns regarding things that should have been associated with the services we did receive (Ive seen where LoT has tried to dispute this with other customer reviews. If necessary, Id be happy to provide additional information or documentation to explain my position). We never signed documentation stating we were willing to have our project used as part of their marketing/social media presence. I believe it was discussed verbally at the time of the proposal, but nothing ever agreed upon (that I know of and Ive double checked my contract several times on this. If we did sign something, we never received a copy of it). I have since learned that pictures of our backyard have been used without our permission. For this reason, I dropped my rating from 3-stars to 2.

This company is fantastic. My family wanted a new landscape to update our house as well as have a place to gather with friends and family. I called four companies and had to leave messages for three of them. Some took days to call back. Lawns of Texas answered immediately set our appointment and showed up on time. When they came out, they listened to what we wanted, then asked us to answer more detailed questions from a form they used. Before they left, they set an appointment for us to come to their office a week later. When we got to the office we were shocked. We sat in their conference room and watched our design in 3D. It was almost identical to our house and everything we asked for and more was in the design. Because of their questions, they knew what we wanted and gave it to us. Probably because they did nothing but listen and take notes the entire time. The other three companies did not do this. The other companies took weeks for a design and gave us overviewed drawings. They clearly gave us what they thought we wanted instead of listening to us. The other three companies were large local landscape companies. This was a night and day difference from Lawns of Texas. The neatest thing was how the landscape and our outdoor kitchen area looked just like the video when they were finished. Lawns of Texas did not over promise but they sure did over deliver. They are very professional and do an outstanding job. We have not experienced service like this in a long time. Sold for life Lawns of Texas. Thank you.

I hope customer service improves. Because I would not recommend them to anyone now. The staff for current customers never answer the phone and the voicemail is always full. It usually takes getting someone in the billing department to send a message about yard work, since nobody else answers. They had been mowing our yards for almost three years. I got my own lawnmower fixed and decided to do it myself. So I cancelled service. But they still came to my house. During that service they knocked lose a gutter after they had cut the cord to my electric gate. I asked them to repair what they had broken. They said that they would not. Instead, they would report me to the city. It was disappointing that Travis Clarks would damage my property after three years of servicing multiple homes. But it was just plain offensive that they would attempt intimidation by calling the city because I requested them to fix what they broke.

What lawn company doesnt have a push mower? They came to my house mowed the front yard but cancelled our services because they didnt tell me they dont have a push mower when my fiancee and I already told them that the entrance to the backyard fence was a one gate fence. So those who have fences in the backyard with one gate dont waste your time with this company at least theyre reimbursing half of the money that I paid for

I hired this company to keep my well maintained lawn in good shape while out of town for 6 months. I purchased their recommended plan for fertilization. After a couple months, I noticed that there were patches of areas that appeared to be dying. They advised that it was a lack of iron, and that they would fix that with their next feedings. The dying patches were getting larger and my concerns were not being responded to.(had to leave messages, got few replies) After numerous calls and emails, I finally got ahold of someone in management that did go by and look at my dying lawn. They agreed that it was now in terrible condition. Their response was that I needed a new lawn. I went from a very nice lawn to dead lawn in 6 months thanks to their lack of professionalism. They would not stand behind their so called guarantee at all. The owner told me I would have had to purchase some sort of watering plan, that was never mentioned. I would highly recommend that you stay away from this company. I have to completely re-sod my yard now. I hope this review saves others from my misfortune. Run away from this company as fast as you can.
