I met Tony 16+ years ago when he was in partnership with another guy. A mutual friend of ours told me to contact Tony to at least get an estimate. Since I had 2 estimates to compare Tonys price to I thought I had done the right thing. Tony was right on the money and once I started talking to him, we realized we knew many of the same people in different industries. I was a lot closer to the other business owners then I was to Tony so I called them. Each one confirmed my initial feeling while I was observing and noting details about Tonys demeanor. It was obvious that he was detailed oriented and made many minor observations I hadnt thought of, so this was huge especially since none of the other companies I spoke with even mentioned some of the items Tony brought to light. The end product was absolutely awesome and so much so several of my neighbors have had Tony back for quotes for similar work. Just a short note: I had some paving work done many years ago that was separating and falling apart. Tony took it upon himself to repair that work and made the old paving look like new. Tonys company does professional work, and uses high end quality material. I can attest to this from the pavers used years ago to the pavers tony uses now. Nova LC did an amazing job! Tony, the owner, was on the job every day managing his crew and working with us to develop landscaping and hardscaping around our new pool. The end results exceeded our expectations. Under Tonys instruction, he and his crew spent weeks constructing our Travertine pool deck and surroundings with precision and care. Whenever a problem arose, Tony found creative and beautiful solutions. For example, when modifications were needed to coping around the back of our pool installed by the pool company, he spent days calling and traveling to vendors to locate hard to find stone to coordinate. He also proved to be very responsive. I dont remember a call or text that was not answered within the hour. He also began and completed our job within the time frame promised. Nova LC may not be the least inexpensive, but the good service, quality of materials, and excellent craftmanship will without a doubt save money on repairs and do-overs in the long run.

We selected NOVA Landscape and Construction for our pools decking and retaining wall needs based on NOVAs great reputation and we were not disappointed. First Tony worked with us on planning the project and we went through numerous revisions and each time with valuable feedback from Tony that proactively addressed many concerns. Then during the construction phase Tony kept us up to date on progress and was always consistent and timely on the work being accomplished. We never ran into a situation where Tonys team disappeared for days or weeks to work on other projects we felt like we were a priority from start to finish. We highly recommend NOVA Landscape for anyone who needs their services and we will certainly be looking back to Tony for our future phases.

I went from having an unusable patio to a beautiful patio. I had heard stories about what happens when you get a bad contractor so I was nervous. Tony and his team made this reno easy.

I used NOVA Landscape Construction for a new patio install with a fire pit and hot tub. It wasnt a simple job because my property has quite a bit of grade and we also needed to dedicate a space to the jacuzzi (and all of its electrical work). I had two other estimates, while slightly cheaper, that didnt have plans for a concrete pad under the jacuzzi and didnt include retaining walls and lights. Tony also used quality materials that were thicker and higher-end than what the other guys were using. I realized quickly this was not as simple as slapping down some Home Depot pavers. I am so glad I went with Tony because that could have been a real nightmare as the ground settled with the grade we have and a heavy jacuzzi sitting on it. Tony also had a designer draw up the plan so I could see exactly what Id be getting. We changed it a couple of times so it was really helpful to see it in 3D from different angles. Most importantly, I cant say enough great things about Tonys guys. We had the same two guys who showed up each day at 7:30am and worked the whole day in nearly 100 degree weather. I have had other contractors for other projects not show up on some days (I guess to squeeze in some smaller jobs) or take 2+ hour lunches where I didnt know if they were coming back. These guys got the job done quickly while paying meticulous attention to detail. They spent quite a bit of time cleaning up after themselves and hosing everything off. We had a couple of issues come up due to the formation of my deck and grading of the property and they made sure before they did anything they spoke with me about what I wanted which I really appreciated. It was a pleasure to work with Tony as he was always responsive to every question I asked. He came over multiple times to check on the project so I never got the feeling that he just took the money and ran while some guys I had never met or spoke to did all the work. Unfortunately, that is how a lot of these businesses work so that is why I wanted to take the time to write this review and give credit where credit is due. Tony is on top of everything, hires the right guys and treats them right, doesnt cut corners and uses quality products, and knows his stuff and is super responsive. Highly recommend!

We recently completed a beautiful hardscape/landscape project with NOVA Landscape Construction near Leesburg, VA. Not only was the final result everything we asked for, but the owner (Tony) and his team made the entire process simple and clear. After discussing the design and committing to a schedule, Tony coordinated the drop off of all materials, making proactive corrections when needed prior to the start of the project. Each day, his teams put in a full days work, and Tony himself was there either working alongside them or stopping by to make sure everything was going smoothly. The project was completed on time, in budget, and exceeding all specifications. Finally, they left the areas surrounding the project/work zones in great shape, seeding and fertilizing all impacted grassy areas and powerwashing our driveway. We love our new fire pit, lighting, and patios!

My husband s fortuitous encounter with owner/president Tony Drosos at local Greek eatery Plaka Grill (owned by Tony s brother Peter) led to the hiring of Northern Virginia Grounds for a landscaping/hardscaping project that has completely revitalized our Vienna home. From the removal of overgrown arborvitae trees that had obscured our house to the construction of a new walkway and porch to the planting of alluring greenery, everything was done promptly and professionally. The addition of river rock below the back deck has also been a magnificent enhancement to the yard. Tony was a pleasure to work with as he addressed all our concerns throughout the project and provided useful recommendations. I called Northern Virginia Grounds because I needed retaining walls and a riverrock bed placed around a sports court for a sloped area of my backyard I was worried about erosion and drainage and Northern Virginia had great reviews. I spoke with Tony Drosos, the owner and he came over within a day to look at the project and draw up some ideas and estimates. When we decided to move forward with the project, sensing my urgency he got a crew to start the next day. These two guys that came over would start at 7:45Am in the morning and stay until maybe 6:00PM or so. They would not leave until the finished the section that they wanted to complete for that day and a few times I felt so bad I told them they did not need to stay any longer and come back tomorrow. That is how dedicated they were. Let me say that this was the week at the end of July where we were hitting 100F every day. They came in one Saturday and I had to convince them NOT to come in on Sunday. The put in 2 stone walls and covered it with a beautiful stone veneer with each stone cut and placed by hand. They took their time and the walls look great. Truly high level craftsmanship and Tony came every day to check on progress and see if anything was needed. At the end Tony even helped me with a good deal on mulch to cover around areas they finished working on. Great 2 man crew that worked long hours to get the job done without asking and finished product looks great. Highly recommend and will use again for future projects.

We had all of our overgrown bushes in the front of our house pulled up and replaced. We had new sod placed in our backyard, and other improvements made. From the time I first called to get an estimate, to having the work completed took about a week. They were extremely willing to work within our budget and we still got everything we wanted. I contacted Northern VA Grounds (NoVa Grounds) with the need to sod the front and backyard of my townhouse as I am preparing to sell (approximately 460 sq. ft.). When contacting various other landscaping companies, many were interested but with the busy time they could not schedule me in though they all understood it was a small job. Tony, the owner of NoVa Grounds however, was willing to work with me. We managed the quote and all items via text by proving the square footage and pictures to facilitate processing the quote and service, this was a good use of both our times since it didn t require me to have to leave work for a visit, and then again when the work was being performed. The price was competitive and we quickly executed the contract via email. Tony was able to squeeze in my project in between his other jobs and managed to complete all the work timely and beautifully, being mindful of the temperature and conditions for sodding the lawn correctly. He and his crew were very polite, professional, efficient, responsive and helpful in taking care of sodding the home and providing the instructions to maintain it. Weeds, Weeds, Weeds !!! They were everywhere. Attacking us from all corners of the yard. We didnt have a nice green lawn. We had one giant weed !!! The lawn was green but it wasnt grass. We are first time homeowners and didnt know what to do. We were lost until we spoke to our neighbor Chuck. Chuck referred us to Tony at NoVA Grounds, LLC. Tony was the ultimate professional. Tony explained his services and we finally had a game plan to attack these weeds. Tony took the time to educate us and patiently answered all our questions. He also met us at a local garden center to choose the best plants for our renovated yard. We had Tony and his team work their magic by removing all the existing grass and weeds along with the existing plants and tree in the front, installing comprow and new sod (2200 SF), installing 13 dwarf English boxwoods, one Red Rocket Crape Myrtle, and a red castle rock wall for our vegetable garden. We were amazed how quickly our weed lawn was transformed into our new sod lawn. The boxwoods, crape myrtle, and vegetable garden looked great. The work was completed in September 2017 and it was still in the 80s. We watered the sod, as instructed, but there were brown areas in various spots that didnt appear normal. Tony stopped by and told us not to worry. He would help us and guaranteed we would be happy. Tony stopped by over the next few weeks and continued to monitor the sod as he applied seed and fertilizer as we continued to water it. The brown areas slowly disappeared and the sod started to blend into the yard. We now receive many compliments on how good our lawn looks. Our neighbor Sam walked on the lawn and said it felt like a carpet. We never thought our yard would look so nice. We were an embarrassment to Chuck as his yard was always immaculate. Chuck was also amazed at the transformation. We are truly grateful to Chuck and Tony for always helping us. Tony did not accept credit cards for payment but he went above and beyond by allowing us to pay by credit card which really helped us. We had weeds removed, installed sod, and replaced old timbers with 6x6 pressure treated timbers in our front yard. Tony and his crew did a nice job and happy with their work. Highly recommended.

We contracted Tony for work on a paver walkway from our driveway to our front porch and for the planting of a tree in our backyard. We couldnt be happier. We contacted Tony after a bad windstorm knocked down some trees and removed some privacy we had from neighbors. Tony came in and reviewed the yard and suggested several options that could fit our needs. He was very communicative via email and phone as we worked together to find the trees that would fit our need for privacy and style. Ultimately, we decided to go with as Willow and couldnt believe how low the price was for the tree and install. Similarly, Tony worked with us on the design of the walkway. He again suggested several styles and we ended up going with a herringbone pattern of red brick that fit our colonial style home perfectly. Tonys guys were quick with the install, but were thorough: they did it right. I had gotten 3 proposals from different companies but NOVA Grounds was the most affordable. I strongly recommend NOVA Grounds and will definitely use them in the future.

We hired Tony to replace our lawn, which was a mess due to the underlying soil containing rocks and construction debris. He knew that a beautiful lawn would require a lot of effort to remove the debris, add new topsoil, and install the sod. Tonys guys worked in the sweltering heat of Summer to literally leave no stone unturned...unfortunately, the heatwave and lack of rain worked against us, and the grass initially wasnt doing well. Tony proactively communicated with us, and worked to make sure we got green grass in the end (like a golf course, as he says. Northern VA Grounds also put a bunch of new shrubs and relocated existing bushes to the side of the house - they look great and add a nice splash of color. installed a stone retaining wall that matched our existing patio perfectly, with some nice flowers and plants in the back. When some of the flowers died due to the heat, Tony replaced them without hesitation. While our job had some complicating factors, I definitely recommend Tony if you want someone who will stay the course and not rest until youre satisfied.

We hired Tony and his crew at NOVA Grounds for a major fall clean up of our yard--trimming bushes, pruning plants, weeding and mulching flower beds, edging, removing and replacing dead bushes, etc. He was super responsive and communicative throughout the process, and our yard looks gorgeous. NOVA does quality work. I especially appreciated how he came out to the site a few times to discuss the job, answer additional questions, and ensure I was satisfied with the work. I highly recommend Northern Virginia Grounds. I m a bit of a perfectionist and very detail oriented, so there was a very high threshold, but Tony and his team did a fantastic job on our hardscape project and far exceeded my expectations. After much research and reading many reviews, I had 5 or 6 companies come out to discuss the project and get estimates. When I met Tony, he took the time to listen to all my thoughts and concerns, and he offered to bring me samples of different materials even before I agreed to go with his company. Tony did a great job with encouraging me to go with his company without being pushy. The estimate Tony gave me was fair, and after considering all of my options, I decided to go with him. Tony has been excellent with communication, and would respond to me almost immediately if I had any questions. He met with me multiple times before starting the project, he brought out samples, and he invited me to see other projects that he had completed or was still in the process of completing. I was originally only planning on replacing my front walkway, but I decided to trust Tony to fix up my entire back yard as well. I had a huge project because in addition to replacing all of my bricks with pavers, Tony said he could help with the drainage problem I had in my yard each time it rained. I would frequently have a small river flowing down my walkways and in the lower grassy parts of my yard. Tony s team put in a French drain to help the water exit our yard underground. They also attached underground pipes to our downspouts so the water wouldn t flow over our pavers. Tony used high-quality Techo-Bloc pavers so that the color would last, and he kept me in the loop each step of the way. I appreciated his crew s attention to detail to make sure everything was done just right. Some people will cut corners, but not Tony s team. They are very skilled, and did a quality job. They worked very hard each day (including some weekends), and they were always pleasant. Tony was at our house almost every day to ensure that everything was being done to his high standards, and he came out in the rain to make sure that the drainage pipes were working. That is truly going above and beyond. I couldn t be happier with how everything turned out. If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable, and reliable person to help with your hardscaping/landscaping needs, you won t go wrong with Tony and Northern Virginia Grounds.

I was very happy with the work they did for me removing a dead tree stump. The stump was located over utility lines and Tony made sure they were marked and identified before any digging was done. I recommend them for any needed grounds work.

I appreciated that Tony got back to me soon after I contacted him and then came out to my home to look at my specific needs. Tony has provided snow removal services at my properties for over 5 years. He is always on top of the inclement weather and him and his guys always do a great job. He keeps me updated on weather and property conditions and is always available when called. There is not another snow removal contractor I will use at my properties. Weve been customers of NOVA Grounds since 2009 when we needed them to clear out our back yard after a major flood in our area. Since then weve used them for both landscaping and hardscaping projects. Theyre competitively priced, on budget and on time. They also have great customer service. I had a critical deadline that required me to be in the office during a snow storm. To my surprise I found my driveway cleared when I woke up in the morning. I later found out that Tony, the owner of NOVA, knew my schedule and cleared my driveway during the night even though I didnt have a snow removal contract. Theyll keep getting my business when I need landscaping work done.

We used Tony and his crew for a major re-landscaping of our front yard. This included removing most existing plants and shrubs and a few trees, massive weeding, and thorough clean up of all existing beds. Tony drew up a new plan, including all new plantings (20+ shrubs, five trees, perennials), a swing, and a bench. Our yard went from unkempt to one of the nicest on the block. Throughout the entire process, spanning four weeks from initial contact through estimates, design, and installation, Tony was responsive, communicative, and prompt. His crew was outstanding, completing a big job in three days (two very long days), and cleaning up after themselves daily. We will certainly use Nova Grounds for our backyard and probably for some hardscaping in the future also.

Tony at Nova Grounds took my unusable front & backyard spaces and created a perfect place to relax and host friends/family. They did an amazing job transforming the space, and will definitely be calling them in the future for all my outdoor projects.
