Winterization was fine. I have been disappointed that the crew has not responded to the fact that we have a leak on our system. They keep saying that is normal. our water bill and Arlington County says otherwise.

No drama winterizing of our irrigation system totally friendly and in time tech.

The service is so inconsistent - at times difficult to request a morning or afternoon window. Even after the customer service rep confirms an AM or PM window, youre at the mercy of their system setting the route (as explained by the customer service rep on the phone). And usually about half the time, very difficult to communicate with the in-field service technicians - they cant speak English very well. There are better companies in the market.

Fed up with Affordable Lawn Sprinklers and Lighting. I scheduled an appointment on a day that worked for us. The appointment was confirmed and then without any notice it was changed to a day that would not work for us. Now I had to cancel my plans for an entire day so that they could come out to fix a problem that they have already been out once to fix. Not customer service friendly. Absolutely NO CONSIDERATION for the customers schedule. ENOUGH!

Not upfront with the charges. The first technician left a leaky pipe, the second one came and fixed it. They charged me $50/10-15 minutes just to show the sprinklers that they installed were working. A disappointment.

We used Affordable Sprinklers for several years. They were fine, albeit pricey, for routine maintenance. Repairs were a different issue. Last year, we started having problems with our aging sprinkler system. The technician inspected the system and replaced two sprinkler heads, for which he charged $300. The technician also insisted that all of the electrical valves in the back yard needed replacing. We paid over $2,300 for the valve replacements, which were done in June 2023. Several of the valves started leaking last month before the one-year warranty period expired. After an email and a phone call, a technician finally came out and announced that the valves were fine. He charged us $360 to add check valves to two sprinkler heads and to replace one old sprinkler head. The next day some of the sprinklers the technician worked on would not turn off. They were stuck on, forcing me to cut off the water supply. I asked Affordable to honor its warranty and send another technician to fix the problem. No response. I hired someone else. He confirmed that at least one of the electric valves Affordable had installed was faulty, which he replaced. He also did some other work, at rates far cheaper than Affordable.

We have used Affordable for both sprinklers and lighting installation and service for many years. Couldn t be happier with their service.

Ive used these guys for years, swapping to another now though. Overall work was as expected, my issue is with the attitude of techs and the scheduling process. The last tech that came out was booked on 8 jobs for the day and did not have time to complete the work at my house. This rush imposed by his management, combined with their clear disinterest in ensuring customers are treated with respect, created an environment where techs on site are disrespectful and innifective. My job went unfinished, Ill have it completed by another company.

The owner NEVER came back to finish the job then sued me for the balance, got paid & still didnt finish the job...watch out

Affordable did my lighting a few years ago and I just started using them for our sprinklers. I could not be more pleased by both the office and on site work that they do. From owner Reed Libby to Werner, who discovered a critical crack in a pipe underneath the house, I feel I have gotten end to end service that I can depend on. No stress and no hidden charges. It s always a pleasure. Use them or spin the wheel of luck with another company.

Not upfront with price. My husband wants some little work done. They charged us $45 for each additional 15 minutes! Labor came out to $187 for a little over an hour work. Even doctors don t make $180 an hour. Total rip off. The technician purposely took his time to charge us more.

Just had 12 zones installed this week. Great job they did! They came on time for the estimates. Professional and had great communication. They came on the scheduled date and completed the work within 2 days. The team was courteous and showed me all the locations of the units and how to control the system with the App. Super easy. The managers were super easy to reach with any follow up questions and got a response right away. They even repaired a small landscape Landscape light for me. Bought a house that had them listed as current company that services the system. Called to get an estimate on what it would take to make an alteration to add flower beds and change the pattern because we installed a paver patio. They wanted to charge us $120 for just the estimate. What? you installed the equipment and had a service plan at this address. Now you want $120 to just get an estimate on what it would cost to add a zone and change the system due to install of paver patio. NO THANKS. With customer service like that, I will go with someone else. ------- Update.... -------- Per the owners response to my post, I contacted them again to give them another try. Yet again after explaining that our sprinkler system was installed by this company and had a contract at our house until it was sold last year, I was told there is no way around the $120 estimate fee. So the post below appears to just be smoke and mirrors to appear that they work with potential customers.

They were friendly, showed up on time and did what they said they would do. It appears they did a great job...our lawn is back to being green. They are professional, reliable, smart, engaged, dedicated, friendly, cost effective, and dependable. When purchasing my home, the property had a contract with Affordable. We had them estimate an irrigation expansion (for a very fair fee) and decided to have them upgrade my entire system. They delivered beyond expectations. I now have a beautiful exterior with amazing irrigation, lighting, etc that enhances the home x 1000. Every employee of the company is respectful and professional. I recommend Affordable Lawn Sprinklers and Lighting unreservedly!

We hired Affordable Lawn Sprinklers and Lighting to install an irrigation system in our front yard. They provided a thorough estimate and explanation of the system before we signed any agreement, and provided an accurate quote that did not hide any costs. We were told from the start that our area of Arlington had low water pressure, and that it was possible we might need a pump for the system. They arrived at 7AM on the day of installation, and they were done by 2PM, including all of the plumbing necessary in our basement. This included installation of 6 different zones to handle grass, multiple flower beds, shrubbery, and a large tree. The installation was seamless, and our yard looks surprisingly great for the amount of work done. We did end up needing a pump, but they walked us through the product and pricing openly. At the end, they worked with us to setup the app on our phones to program the system and did a detailed inspection of the work. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the work and the experience - I would highly recommend.

Update on posting from last fall. We just turned on our sprinkler system and found out the water valve was never shut off. Fortunately there doesn t appear to be any damage.

When trying to schedule a meeting with Alvaro, he never made time to talk on the phone or meet. So, we used email and tried to detail the scope of the work we requested. He gave a minimal draft drawing with little to no detail. The team came out and began work but installed a system that did not meet our needs and also did not repair the leak we requested as part of the job. $2k later plus tip and providing water and Gatorade for the two workers, the system still had a leak, they installed double the amount of nozzles that we did not want and the wireless control box didnt work. After hours of finding fixes online I got the control box to work on my own. But they sent an addition quote of $800 to repair the leak that was in the first work request. In addition, the team accidentally took some of our gardening tools with them on their way out. Buyer beware! We will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and making sure not to use them again.

We shopped around awhile, then decided to use Affordable Lawn Sprinklers to install our sprinkler system. We definitely made the right decision. The crew was professional, efficient, and did a great job installing the system. Everything works perfectly and were looking forward to hassle-free watering this summer. They setup the Rachio app on my phone so all I had to do was play with the scheduling. The install was excellent and the crew was top notch. Post install - the customer service from Affordable cannot be beat, anything that has come up (which was not much) was quickly addressed. If service is important to you, I would wholeheartedly recommend this company. I have used other sprinkler contractors in the past that were cheaper but in the long run, the saving were not worth the headache. Worst experience ever! We scheduled a simple winterization of our sprinkler system and had to prepay since it was our first time using them. The guy who came out wasnt familiar with our system. Spent 15 minutes around our yard and house asking me if I knew where the access point was shutting valves on and off. I said no, youre supposed to be the experts in this. I pointed out the valve for the sprinkler system and said this is the valve, why are you messing with the other valves? Then he told me he couldnt do it, so I asked how do I get a refund since I prepaid. He shrugged. So I called the mainline and explained to the woman who answered what happened and she said he would call him. So another 20 minutes he spent walking around texting pictures back and forth before finally running the system and hooking it up to blow out the pipes. As hes packing up and getting ready to leave I go to wash my hands only to find out we have no water, hes shut off the main line to the house. So now Im asking him whether he has to winterize the whole system again since he didnt have the line for the sprinkler system off. He calls his boss who tells me that this was supposed to be a 30 minute appointment so they cant spend anymore time trying to find the access point but if I call them in the spring they can come back and spend time finding it. Terrible customer service.
