I have had a season of nothing but trouble with Tru Green. They left my gate open after a service letting my 4 dogs out. They applied two of the applications 3 weeks apart when the grass was in its dormant dried up state in September. They sold me their tree and shrub package and stated they would be out within 3-5 days for the first application. 6 weeks later and a follow up phone call, finally got them out. They came out to perform the root system service and the guy didn’t even treat the back yard. Today, they sprayed horticultural oil in the rain. It’s suppose to be applied to dry leaves then allowed to dry over 24 hours.
This TruGreen out of Vandalia is a scam. Paid them for crabgrass treatment. The crab grass didn’t die. Paid them to aerate and seed. First time they came there was very little evidence of plugs and seeds. Had to call them back, and they redid it, a little better, but very little germination despite my watering a lot. Got a free visit to retreat the crabgrass, and just now saw via security cam, the technician arrive at my house at 2:02 pm, and then depart at 2:03 pm, and they sent a text to say my “treatment” was complete. Don’t give this company ANY of your money. Total scam.
The treatments are adequate but there is a bit of bate and switch. The automatic renewal policy is shabby. Who renews a contract in September that was made in March. March should be the renewal date. I paid the extra (only because they had my credit card on file) but they have lost me as a customer forever and anybody I can influence l will definitely tell them how they misrepresent their offer. For $146.00 they have lost a customer forever. American business…

As a grandson of the original founders, Paul and Richard Duke; I would have to say that not much has been lost as far as quality. Far prices, conscientious employees are what we as customers need. I am happy with service. The liquid app is far better than time- released sulfer coated fertilizer. Hats off to TruGreen. My grandfather and uncle would be proud. After all, it was a father and son business started in 1967. Thank you for killing my weeds. Next app Wil be liquid fertilizer mixed with weed control. All my best TruGreen!! This is what Trugreen did for 80 dollars to my elderly parents. Also their yard is covered with weeds. Obviously they are not getting a proper treatment. Do you usually only just do a tiny area like this? My father said usually you only come for 3 or 4 minutes. And this time the small amount spread killed a path through the yard. The company told me they would make it right. I offered to take down my original review because I trusted they would do the right thing. It has been several weeks, and they still have not done anything…..except send a “Past Due” notice to my parents for this work.
We've paid over $1,000.00 since July (it's late october) for fertilizing, pest control, weed control, seeding, and aerating. Our lawn looks absolutely terrible. They "aerated" today, didn't even bother doing the back yard, or the grass that is between the sidewalk and road (we have corner lot, large area). They didn't do the perimeter of the spots they did bother aerating, there is a good 4 ft gap between our driveway and garden beds and where the aerating starts. When we called to have him come back (because the techs don't tell you when they get here or when they are leaving) she said he probably went to get equipment and would be back. Hours later, never came back, he marked the job as complete, so we called yet again and they said it would be at least 3 days before someone else could come fix it. And I highly doubt they will do what they are supposed to when they do come. I don't think the week control ever touched the area between the sidewalk and road because the weeds are absolutely out of control.

I stick with Tru green because they re affordable . They do seem to make things right if you have a complaint about the service. The only problem i have with them is it s always a different lawn technician . So sometimes thats good but not always . It seems if you do the prepay tru green stacks your services all together not spread out . I had 3 services all in 1 month and a half during the heat of the summer , And with a drought going on .
Dorione was great, had my dormant oil on my trees/shrubs, she was very nice, she let me know which she would be able to treat, I do have some she couldnt do the oil on, I was completely ok with that. Great gal!

Then they tried to upsell me tree and shrub treatment for mites they found on several shrubs after they have already been treating for them all year. Have been trying to speak to a manager for almost 2 months with no luck. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Eddie Green is a fabulous field service manager. He clearly sticks to his word, as to what he states he will do!!! How refreshing in this day and age, where there is no human bodies any more. Also, he met his 4 year employee Donnell here at my house today, and told Donnell what the goal is in 2024 for my yard. Hopefully, Donnell can be my service tech rep for all applications this year. Our goal is to shoot for one experienced tech for all the 2024 application this year with one service rep Donnell.

Paid for 12 Months services, didnt control the weeds like they said. Supposed to haven given a free treatment, which to find out that they ,Counted it as one of my seven. Well then supposing my seven treatments where done from April 21 2023 to September 2023. Then they burned 2 spots of my yard while filling up fertilizer spreader. I have pictures. And then they come back February 2024 to do another treatment. I email and told them not too that I no longer live there . No response. Then in March I get another notification saying there coming to treat yard. I reply back no that I no longer live there. And today I get a letter from collection Agency for 244 dollars from trugreen. Well you need to pay to get those Bare spots fixed in yard. SO PEOPLE DOUBLE CHECK AND HAVE IT ON PAPER. DO NOT USE TRUGREEN. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. Especially the on UT of LIMA OHIO

I get mosquito treatments once a month during the summer months because we live in a wooded lot and they can get pretty bad. It s guaranteed for the month. If we get any bites they ll come back free of charge! So far they ve only had to come back once this year and once last year.it works great!

I have the lawn care and pest control. They bill separately, so I am reviewing separately. Lawn care is so far so good. There are no complaints. The pest control experience had been horrible. They didnt come to the house to complete the service. After several calls and requested call backs to the area manager. I finally decided to cancel the service. Trugreen completed the service for free, however the pest were still and issue weeks later, so I requested a follow up service. The manager never responded and after a call back they finally set a date to follow up, only to cancel that day. I canceled the pest control and will probably use Pestie.

These guys will spam you with advertisements, daytime calls, emails, and mail if you give them any of your information. Their services are piss poor at best and they make all their money through marketing and getting money before people cancel their cervices.

Heard every excuse in the book to why my plants died a week after they applied treatment: overwatering (during a drought), underwater, trees planted incorrectly, a disease in the area, grass overcompeting. None of these issues were reported to me before my trees had any issues. 0/10 would absolutely not recommend the tree and shrub service. None of the technicians seem to be trained appropriately or pay attention to detail enough to let me know there was a problem before 18 trees spontaneously died on my property a week after a tree and shrub treatment. Salesman told me trained arborists work for this company. They might but I didn t have an opportunity to work with one. If you have this company work for you document everything or they will not help you when they screw up. Update: A sales rep named Jacob came to my house apologizing for the service. He said he looked at the pictures of my trees with his manager and it looked like they were damaged from a chemical burn and that they would take care of it. He also showed me they initially set the square footage of my yard to 3x its actual size. I was informed that they had to lay off some bad eggs from the prior year from damages to their customers property and that TruGreen was under new management. The sales rep let me know that someone would be out the following Monday to collect soil samples if I signed up for a new service. Out of good faith I signed up. A few weeks passed by and no one showed up. The sales representative gave me a call after a few calls to customer service and told me that the regional technical manager was at my house in Fall, which he wasn t, and it wasn t their fault. I called in and cancelled my account with TruGreen. Avoid this company

When I had this business it started great. Then progressively got worse. Burnt spots in yard. Ask that a certain employee didnt do my lawn. But he still did it. Tried to only do part of my yard. But caught them on camera doing it. And are now WAAAAAAY OVER PRICED. Said they lower than most all places. Its high because everyone going up and they got best deal. Lmao. I found another place with great reviews for way less . This company is a rip off

I guess I should count myself lucky. Spam text/calls/emails for weeks. Changing to we can reduce the qoute. Funny thing is, I still have not actually received a qoute. The last call I answered, promised to text the qoute immediately. I told him I was interested in a single treatment only (I am a renter). Havent heard from them since! Apparently, telling them a single treatment or renter, removes you from the list.
Getting the service contract setup was very easy and quick. I had a response call within minutes after an online request. It was handled professionally and not rushed at all. The first service occurred as suggested it would be, and the technicians were friendly and seemed knowlegeable. So based on this so far so good. Looking forward to an improvement in my lawn over the season and hopefully beyond.
I hired this company to do lawn service for weed control. Yesterday I had an appointment and called to verify time. They indicated they would be there at 1030 to perform the service. I have a gate that locks from the inside. I left it open for them, and had to leave for my own appointment. After I got back from my appointment, I called to verify the spray was done. I have three dogs and need to keep them off the lawn and lock the gate back up. They informed me it was complete. Later that day I got a text message that my guy was on his way. I called them back to inform them that someone already came out. They were confused. Then I got a message that they didnt do the lawn care at all via text. I called back. I was told by their Customer Service rep Austin that I would get a call back which never happened! I had to call today to try and figure it out. They said no service was done and that I would have to re-schedule. Due to their error I asked if they could come out today (weeds are ridiculous) and they said no, I would have to wait to Tuesday. So, overall, they said they did a service they did not do, then told me they would call back that day and didnt, and then wouldnt accommodate their mistake the following day and I would have to wait for their mistake! Nope. No thank you. Poor customer service, poor scheduling, and poor management. I DO NOT recommend this company at all.
This was my initial service and everything met my expectations. With that said, my next reviews will be based on service results. My hope is that the services and lawn results will be far better that all the negative reviews that I have read. At this point time will tell and if the results are not a fuller green lawn with little to no weeds, I will be terminating the service and reporting TRUGREEN to the Better Business Journal.

I switched to truGreen this year because my previous company doesn t have rights to our zip code now. The first treatment from Trugreen was atrocious they didn t even spray the backyard but they sure charged me for it. I had to call them and let them know I have cameras to show proof. The second treatment I received an alert that they were on my property to which I walked outside and no one was there. Then I received a second alert saying they re done. No one even showed up. However, I did have someone down a different street reach out to me and say they received my bill on their door and their yard was serviced. They have little children and pets and they do their best to avoid chemicals. Trugreen literally trespassed into someone else s property and sprayed chemicals on it without their permission. I hope charges are brought onto this company for trespassing and spreading chemicals. AND they had the audacity to charge me. Never again.

The service performed was excellent. There was a time I would complete the services myself, however, Ive come to realize that it doesnt cost that much more to have Trugreen do them for me. I dont have to drive to the store to purchase materials, drive home, and walk an acre of grass to apply. Now I can enjoy my lawn on auto pilot. Jerry W was very thorough and provided excellent notes regarding service and the condition of my lawn. I work alot and have little free time. Thank you Trugreen and Jerry W. for giving me a little more work life balance.

I had been a customer in past house all was great then moved quotes 1/2 price first time then 130 then after . They came once and charged over 300$ have-bank proof . Then month or so later I complained to BBB then they came out 2 times in a week now I m being sued by them for over 300 $ This was a joke for bug spray.

Ive had this company for 4 years and with no improvement, Ive contacted the company and received no response as promised. I will never recommend this company for anyones kawn.
I met with the specialist/ technician today, Isaiah, when he arrived to service my lawn. I pointed out areas of concern and he was receptive to what I was saying and assured me that he would make certain those areas were sprayed. I know it took a couple extra minutes of his time but I appreciated that he listened to my concerns and addressed them.
During the time we were with this company, we were satisfied with our services but my husband and I decided to cancel because of our budget/financial goals. We were happy with our services and it was a complete personal reason why we canceled. TruGreen proceeded to call us every day for four days after we explained that we were happy with the services but were canceling for personal reasons which was honestly none of their business, but we wanted them to know it wasn t bc we were dissatisfied. They offered to lower the cost of our last treatments when we canceled but we declined every time they called, and yet they continued to call us which to us just seemed like harassment. We were happy with the company and would have gone back to them in the future but now they ve lost our business all together.

This is a scam. They did service without concent, I told them I wanted to think about it. They sprayed anyway. Months later they started charging my card even though I wasnt getting service. Constant calls and emails.

My first treatment did not include anything for weed control. I called and submitted concerns in a review and they were quick to respond.
After these guys over fertilized my yard in certain spots and killed the grass, it took 4 months for them to finally send someone out with grass seed to fix it. Also their products dont work or they dont do their job properly because I would have weeds growing in my yard 1-2 weeks after they sprayed.

Poor customer service. First appointment, the tech never showed up. I waited until 8pm. I did receive a notification that they were delayed, which is why I waited. However, there was no follow up to inform me that they were not coming. Against my better judgement, I rescheduled. Second time, service truck sat outside of my house for 10 minutes, then I received an email that service could not be performed today . No one ever rang my doorbell, knocked, or anything. I saw the truck and went around back to unlock my privacy fence. By the time I unlocked it, the service tech had pulled off. My mother received similar service. Service tech came, treated her front yard and was getting in his truck when my mother stepped out of the house and asked if he was going to treat the back yard. He stated I didn t think anyone was home. She said, you didn t ring the doorbell. The only way I knew you were here was because I came to the door to check my mailbox. He unloaded his equipment and treated the back yard. Now, she would ve been charged for treating the whole yard if my mother didn t stop him from leaving. HORRIBLE! I will never use them. My time is at a premium and they ve completely wasted my valuable time.
They spray before 3-5 days of heavy rain. (this has occurred several times over the years. They tell you its OK to do. The lawn says otherwise.) Thats when they spray your yard and not the neighbors (occurred in 2021. when the spraying gal was informed that she was spraying the wrong house? she fled the scene in her service truck). They fail to diagnose EVERYTHING (mole crickets, moss, sub turf pests of all kinds). You have to tell them whats wrong with your lawn in order for them to apply the correct products. AND THEN THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR THOSE PRODUCTS - $70-$90 PER APPLICATION - OVER AND ABOVE THE $300+ PACKAGE. AND NEW IN 2022 - When you call the Dayton phone numbers, youll get an offshore CSR lacking the ability to answer direct questions, sometimes lacking basic language skills, with lots of long satellite delay pauses, pre-fab answers to very specific questions, etc. YOU CAN ASK OFFSHORE CSRS FOR SOMEONE LOCAL TO CALL YOU BACK. BUT THEY DONT RETURN CALLS! (so why would I bother to respond to that email request below my review???) And when you ask those same OFFSHORE CSRs for local numbers where someone LOCAL will answer your call? They simply give you the same published, local numbers that direct your call to OFFSHORE CSRs. So much for their barrage of aggressive, attractive pricing campaign in 2020-2021. We gave it 2 years, starting out with Aerration and Seeeding in early 2021. And after a so-so 1-2 years (Where we had to tell them what was wrong and then pay $70-$90 for extra applications? ) The lawn is suddenly dire straights. AS IN it might warrant a re-sodding job.
This post is specifically for the TruGreen in Vandalia Ohio. I have been paying for total yard treatment but the technician has only been treating my front yard and the portion of my yard that is fenced in; not the left or right portion s and not the back half. This is obvious by the difference in weed growth. I had service scheduled for and received a message that I cancelled the appointment, while I was on the phone talking to the office about my yard treatment. I was told the technician was going to be sent back out but he never showed. I tried to call the office the following day and was sent to the corporate customer service but they could not do anything but leave a mess for the manager to call me. The manager never did. In regards to TruGreen Vandalia, OH, save your money or go somewhere else. I contracted for weed/fertilization/pest control services. After a few months, I was hoping to see some noticeable results, but did not. Our property had been vacant for sometime before we purchased it, so I attributed the lack of noticeable results to the state of the property. As months went on, I began to suspect that the yard was only being treated near the front of the property, and not the whole yard as I was being billed for by square footage. Trucks would be in and out in less than 5 minutes sometimes. I began sitting out on my deck to make my presence known, and ensure that the entire lawn was treated. That helped, but I couldnt be there all of the time. On one occasion, the tech pulled up to the property, never got out of her truck, but proceeded to send a notification that the property had been treated. She continued to sit in front of my property for sometime, so I knocked on her window and asked. She insisted she treated the lawn, even though she in fact did not. By that time, we had installed a security camera which verified that the tech did not provide services. This was the end for me. Aside from this, the company continued to bill for services past the number of visits I contracted for, and even after I canceled services on the website.

Absolutely horrible customer service! After almost two months of waiting for them to transfer my service to my new home Im switching my service to Buckeye Ecocare. Hire competent customer service representatives the two I spoke with couldnt manage the task of transferring my service from one address to another resulting in a list customer and bad review.
After 2 treatments still have dandalions
This is the most unprofessional company that I have not had the pleasure to deal with. They tried to say that they serviced my yard, even said what time they were at my house. I have ring doorbell so I checked it and nobody treated my yard. When I wanted to speak with a manager they gave me the run around, still havent talked to a manager yet. They took the money out of my account before any service was done, which according to them they only take it out after completion of service. (It took a week to get my money back) they called me 2 different times with a recording that said they would be out and treat my yard the following day, I called them each time and reassured them I cancelled my service and NOT to send anyone out, and low and behold they showed up both times the next day after I cancelled my service. They need to get new management because currently they have NO clue on how to run a business
Terrible service, technician didnt show up to treat our lawn nor did anyone else. Called to get it rescheduled and they could not do so until 3 weeks later. This all came about after I requested a treatment for weeds on April 25th and then the no show on May 1st followed by my phone calls and the date I was given was May 31st. This is totally unacceptable. I cancelled my service (which is a misnomer-its lack of service) and asked to have my prepaid money refunded. Now well see how that goes. Im not very optimistic. I would NEVER go with TruGreen Lawn lack of Care.

I had got a text message saying they would be out on Monday the 1st of September and I had called at least a month before to cancel yard treatment I also messaged the back and told them not to come..they showed up and sprayed my front yard at about noon didn t tell me they were here and charged me 94.10 for just my front yard didn t do backyard because gate was locked I called customer service and they said I would get credit back on my account within 2 business days..it s now been 5 days where is my money???You guys are not a professional business at all and I am reporting this to the BBB!!!!
Initially a one star for service. The five star relates to how they handled the complaint. Original post: Wholly and completely dissatisfied. Prepaid for entire property. Started a year ago, theyve only done the back twice. First time we called, they said they did, I said no, they said the gate was locked, I said no, I work at home. Gates were unlocked. I watched them. I thought they were going to the side to do the back but they just left. Latest, they were supposed to seed and aerate last fall. They did the front and drove off. They were supposed to do the back in the spring. They finally did it 25Jul. Not a good time to seed. Thats just the latest. Weve called, explained, complained, they said yes, yes, yes, but nothing changed. We cant get our money back for the poor service. We paid for the full property and are getting only half of it done. Weve stopped calling to complain, it did no good. Update: I was contacted by the company rather quickly and we discussed the issue. Ultimately I cancelled the service and received a fair refund. It would seem that the sales people may not be properly informed regarding services offered or, as many times is the case with any business, will say anything to get the sale. Suggest potential customers be explicit in their inquiries and be clear about the response.
I have waited for 5 days for a manager to contact me. I have weeds 6ft tall in my front, side, and backyard. No one has contacted me.
I like the fact that the Service Techs take the time to talk to me about my lawn goals. They are knowledgeable and patient and explain to me what is being done and what the end result should should look like. I always look forward to my service dates and the TruGreen app provides me exact details of my service prior to my service and after my service is completed.
Years ago they turned my lawn around by weed control and fertilizing but now I feel they have way over treated my lawn which by far isn t cheap. Now my lawn is looking pretty bad and isn t getting any better.
Mark came to our door and explained what he was doing to our lawn . Made recommendations and than did his job. Time will tell how effective his treatment will be.

I am first sorry that so many people are having problems with this company. Not sure why. Perhaps there are other things going on but I have not had any problems like the reviews I read. I also DO NOT USE ANY OTHER PRODUCTS...ONLY TRUGREEN TREATS MY LAWM. PERIOD! I watch on my camera while I am at work to make sure my lawn is truly treated and am ecstatic to see that every inch is covered. The technician does not walk and sprinkle like I have seen some do, this one looks as if he follows every other lawnmower row and covers the areas on all sides of him. I LOVE IT. My lawn has shown better than it ever had. I have a beautiful weed free lawn for a minimal fee. When Covid hit us all and I wanted to cut some things off my budget this company gave me the same service with a very affordable rate because they did mot want all the work and time we both put into my lawn to go to waste. I am a fan and will promote them to anyone...ANYONE.

I told them i want to make sure im able to do it and ill call them back the next day to set them up and before i got the chance to call back the called my phone over and over while ill was at work i finally answered my phone and told them i was no longer interested in the service due to the blowing my phone up. This company is the worst, caught the lawn technician on my blink camera missing half of my yard, and when I tried to call the sales manager no answer or call back in 4 days, service manager the same thing, stay away from this company. If there was something lower than one star I would put that.

They said someone else will come next day and nobody showed up. Rescheduled again and again no call no show. Terrible business.
My contract was transferred to TruGreen from Turf Point. I had suspended service and was to be contacted before any treatments would be done. Today I found a sign on my lawn. I tried to call the Vandalia, OH but the wait time to speak with someone is 1-2 hours. The receipt that I have is difficult to read so I have no idea what my customer# is. I no longer need this service and want to cancel. I will not be paying for services!
I would stay far away from TruGreen. Several months ago my husband called to cancel our services. They gave him all kinds of deals to try and stay. We cancelled the service anyway. They showed up yesterday at our house again. The ticket they left at the door said they were there at 9:22 AM and that they sprayed 2 gallons onto 1000 sq. ft. We have cameras all around our house. The camera was signaled at 9:23 and recorded the man walking to the front door to drop off the ticket. I called my husband immediately asking why they were back since we already cancelled the service! We then both got onto the live camera system and there was NO ONE in our yard or driveway. There was also NO ONE in our yard or driveway prior to 9:22/9:23. If our yard was treated, they would have been on the camera. I called later that day to ask why they were there. The man I spoke to said they did not cancel our services (grrr). I also asked what services were performed at our house. He said they sprayed 2 gallons onto 1000 sq ft. I then explained my camera situation and asked how it was possible for them to perform the full service (or any service) in under 4 minutes. The man quickly said he would credit our account for the services performed today and to not worry about the bill when it came. I then told him we wanted to cancel our service and he again tried to give us a lower price. He confirmed at the end of the phone call that he cancelled our service. It is absolutely terrifying to think how many other times they didnt treat our yard correctly, but charged us the full price. Maybe that explains why our yard didnt improve. How many other people have they ripped off? And the fact that the man quickly offered to credit the account, shows that he has probably had this happen before. He didnt even question the situation. I love to support local businesses, but I will never give my business back to Trugreen. I do not work with dishonest liars who are only after peoples money!

I purchase a 3 phase Lawn Pest control. Each installation I was notified of who was coming and when. Each Tech arrived on time and got the job done. Which was very important because I have two dogs. They were very decisive and the installs were quickly implemented. Once I asked a technician a few questions and he no issue answering. Very professional and true to promises. I have already purchased other products.

Younger looking gentleman in Dayton, Ohio. Come to this neighborhood all the time and actually does the lawn 2 doors to the right of me. So I live at the corner of Silver Oak Street and Meadowsweet in Forest Ridge HOA. He has not stopped at the stop sign 1 time, always has his head down texting also while the speed limit is only 25mph and there are little kids that live on 2 of the 4 corners right here he going the minimum of 40 then when he sees me holding my hands up he has the look of haha you can t do anything and he gave me the finger and laughed the whole time. I could understand if it was the first time and he show concern of oops I ll pay attention and slow down but being the 3rd probably 4th time he shows no concern of hitting a child or adult, nor professionalism for himself or TRU GREEN.

I was first quoted over $1100 for a 30k sq ft lawn and told them no thank you. Then received a a call from Trugreen wanting to requote their service. The new quote was $721 for the same service. When I told them I would not do business with Trugreen because I should have received a fair price the first time. The salesman told me I wasted his time and hung up on me. Terrible service. Had them come for an extra treatment bc the crab grass was getting bad. Came and sprayed and not 1 single blade of crab grass died.
They only treated half of the yard and did not apply fertilizer as they were supposed to and charged a ridiculous amount just to spray half my yard for weeds. So disappointed with the service feel they are taking advantage of their customers not sure what is going on but they need to make some changes to keep their customers satisfied.

My parents have been taking care of their yard for decades and it s always green and healthy, this company destroyed my parents yard. I have never seen it this bad. Took 40 minutes for my dad to get ahold of them and they tried to blow him off saying it ll be fine after another service. Would never recommend this company. I can t believe my parents paid for someone to kill their yard.
Twice this season we have been charged for an application and it was actually never done. The latest was the aeration which is hilarious because you can t hide that you didn t do it because there is no plugs out of the ground. Terrible service. I used to work for them 20 years ago and I guess times have changed.
Service was great with the technician I had. Then someone else came and they missed part of my yard one time and skipped applying granular another time. They came back to apply while my family was outside playing in the evening so I kindly asked them to apply it another time. They never came back to do that. While I was a customer, I consistently got upsell calls from them. I asked them to stop, they didnt. I canceled their service. I got a phone call from them a few days later from a rep trying to retain my business. I said no and there was literally nothing they could do to retain my business hoping theyd get the message. They called again, and again, and again. 7 total calls trying to retain my business. 2 of which were within 5 minutes of each other today (which prompted my review). I got very unfriendly with the last one that called, I hope they get the message now. Their service is marginal and they are absolutely relentless with the phone calls. There are better lawncare companies out there. Avoid TrueGreen. When I find a better one, Ill post it here if Im allowed. Update: I have found out recently this company is massive so they have people dedicated to upselling services to you via cold calls. They have people dedicated to retaining your business when you cancel. That explains the phone calls not stopping. A company this size, you are not a customer, youre an address with a yard on some list. Find someone local who actually needs your business. They will be more attentive to your yards needs and. My neighbors have been recommending Pure Lawn. I will be trying them this spring. Update: PureLawn didn t do a very good job. Details are in my review for them. I ll be trying a different place next year, will update when that happens.
This company is all about profit they over charge and over do everything except customer service. Have called 6 times to try to cancel. You cant get past the phone service. Total rip off. My grass looks way worse then before they started. Had service for a month and they want 450.00 still have weeds and lots of dead spots. Speaking to an attorney And the better business bureau. Since the trouble this company waved all charges and called to repair any damage. At least they tried to make it right
We tried Trugreen in 2019, had horrible service, our yard was still having a lot of issues and weeds, we also thought we were paying for spraying for pests like fleas and ticks, and it ended up being mosquitoes only. Which didnt do anything. When we called we were just told of all these other factors as excuses as to why their treatments didnt work. We told them before the summer was over that we no longer wanted them to treat our yard. They talked us into doing the last service for free, then after that being done. Then today, I ended up getting an automated call regarding them coming out tomorrow. I had to call again to get them to stop.
When I first purchase my house in 2004 the service was excellent I hate to say it but as of late the last may be 2 to 3 years I havent been really ecstatic I just cut my grass yesterday and Im still seeing several different kinds of weeds in my yard.

So saddened to see that this company with the worst customer service has bought out Turf Point who we have had for years. Turf Point was such a great company and had the utmost integrity and truly valued their customers. First interaction with TruGreen after the merge was a technician who came out, did not do an application, said he did, charged me even though my cameras have him dead to rights. Although they credited our account, it did not make the lie and frustration any better. They even tried to make an excuse when I called them about having something to do with the pandemic.....really? Oh and I have to wait 48 hours for a supervisor to call me.....never had that problem with Turf Point...no phone trees, and same day customer service. If you want a company that has zero integrity and horrible customer service this is the company for you. Otherwise give a smaller Local company your business. Sorry to see Turf Point be absorbed by this terrible company as they were so great while we had them.
I called about getting yellow nutsedge sprayed , was told they would be out no later than Thursday, well Thursday came and went and Thursday #2 will be here tomorrow and still no spray. Why do I even need to call, can the technician not see the nuts edge my yard its been there all along?
Since Tru;Green has been treating my yard has completely turned brown. Every time I call I get somebody else, with a different excuse I ve been waiting a month now still won t show up to address the issue. Of course I pre-paid for the whole year so they ve already got my money, also you can plainly see where they are not treating mallard under trampoline around fruit trees because they are still nice and green.
Today was the very first time a technician from truegreen serviced my yard and whoever it was, left my gate open! I let my dog out and went back to check on him, and he was gone. Im very disappointed that turf point merged with them. I NEVER had issues with turf point in the 3 years of service. Im happy to say I found my dog and he is ok. Anyone have any suggestions for good lawn care services?
I originally did not sign up for TRUGREEN because of their costs compared to local companies. I signed with TURFPOINT this year and loved them but TRUGREEN bought them out and took over mid season. Since then, I have had nothing but miscommunication and no results. I paid TURFPOINT in full for a free aeration so thats what Im waiting on. It has had to be rescheduled now at least 4 times and I have talked to numerous people on the phone. My ring camera shows a worker knocking on the door, not ringing the bell so my fiance never heard him. So they just leave...no note. This happened 3 times. We came to the conclusion that our gate is probably to small for their big equipment. So I called and they added a note for smaller equipment. Last time they were supposed to come and customer service said they can come the same day your lawn is serviced because they are only doing fertilzer, not weed control but then they end up spraying for weeds so the aeration didnt happen. Then I rescheduled and....crickets on the third day....I call and he said Im sorry, in the next 3 days they should be out. I said um, what happened these last 3 days? TOTAL miscommunication. I have paid for this service already and I am getting blown to the wayside on this one.... Everyone says something different on the phone and it just keeps getting pushed back...pushed back.... At this point I need to be home to ensure it actually gets done. Trying to find another small company to go with for next year. TRUGREEN is to large and doesnt put their customers needs first...only maybe in the next 3 days.
Well I used to get the True Green for a couple years but I stopped this year I resume them doing that my lawn but the only problem is some of the weeds are still here Ive called them twice and they came out and the customer service is very nice and told me they dont come out as free again but as of the date of the weeds are still here is only a certain type the other kind of weeds are gone.
Gave this company two opportunities. Had them provide services in 2019 for which I ceased my contract before all services were rendered as a direct result of their poor communication; not telling me when service appointments were canceled, not providing a heads up before coming out for certain services, and generally poor customer service. Gave them a second shot in 2020 after they offered decent incentives but ran into the same issue except this time it took 3 separate phone calls to get them to fully cancel my account and stop the automated notifications that they d be sending people out even though I had canceled the account. There are plenty of other options for reliable lawn care service in the Dayton area. Highly recommend you look elsewhere before selecting this company. Could not be more unpleasant with my experience.
True green sprayed my yard and I did not request service,called several times was told bill was taken care of,now Im being threatened with a collection agency. Wish I could speak with someone who knows whats going on
They do a great job, leave detailed notes on what they see and what they did, and provide great customer service.
They annoy me. They are constantly scheduling unnecessary applications. One time they scheduled an appointment and it was snow in the ground.
Always pushing additional services that are not always needed. Past services have always been on schedule and with Trudy you always get call ahead notification.
Oh where to start. If I could post zero stars, I WOULD! These clowns convinced me to switch to their lawn care service over one that I had previously liked due to a nice price difference for similar quality care . What a load. The care for our lawn was suspect at best. Patches of our lawn ended up brown and dead after they sprayed it. We were harassed about upgrading our service every week for 4-5 months. When I explained to a rep that I was upset with our service due to said issues with our lawn and the harassing phone calls, she offered us just about anything we wanted to stay on through the end the year with them. Then we got billed for treatments we never signed up for and as far as I can tell never received. I called 4 times to cancel our service at the end of 2018 and in February 2019, got a text saying that they d be out the next day. Immediately, I called and cancelled that service. Guess what still happened? Yep, they came anyway. Now we are getting billed for a service we did not want in the first place after cancelling any and all services 5 times. Do not mess with these fools. Do not pay them a dime of your hard earned money and for the love of all that is holy, stop sending people to service my lawn.
They called me while I was in Florida treated my lawn just got home today after 3 months away my lawn is green and beautiful no weeds
TruGreen was terrible. Would only treat front yard although the manager told me we were paying for entire yard. I called everytime after treatment and and told them I had cameras and no one ever treated back yard. Their response was that they were supposed to treat back yard so they would send someone to retreat. They came out and only did the fenced in area but not the rest of backyard. After the third time of this happening, I canceled. Terrible. Waste of money. Now my yard is dandelion heaven. Repeatedly called the general manager and she was not helpful. Told me I was a liar. Told me the manager would have never made certain statements. Told me I must have imputed the wrong sq footage when requesting service, however there is no place to Input that data. Spend a little more money and get ziehler or buckeye ecocare.
I signed up and then canceled the service the next day because the cost was too high. Two weeks later, they still came to my house without letting me know upfront and charged for the service that I never wanted. I called customer service who tried every possible way to say it was my fault. Horrible customer service!!!

First visit they sprayed. Two weeks later while mowing my lawn, I was SO upset to see the same weeds and now, dandelions and seed heads. I asked for TruGreen to return. Twenty-six days after the initial visit/treatment, they did. And here is why TruGreen gets a 1-star: Upon looking at their work completed receipt (left at my front door) TruGreen dropped only 0.25 gallons of herbicide compared to 10.05 gallons on their first visit. That is ZERO point two-five. Do their technician think customers dont look to see what theyve done? Does TruGreen just take my money and move on to the next potential customer? Sure does feel like it. Anyway, I felt so slighted, I wanted my $634.35 back. TruGreen manager, William Ringfield (a nice guy), finally refunded my money, 33 days after their second visit, but not without charging me $110 for the first/initial visit. Good luck with business, TruGreen. I will tell my story to my neighbors and do my best to warn all of them about you during this summers block party.
I am so impressed by TruGreens service their staff is great my treatment was done in a timely manner i am pleased with what they are doing 1st treatment grass immediately showed improvement i am confident TruGreens treatment will really bring my grass to what i desire i recommend their service i believe their customers will always be satisfied love the service
TruGreen Lawn Care came to our home by mistake when we were not home and treated around our foundation with insecticide without our consent. The service information they left on our door even stated in the comment area...Thank you for talking to me today. We werent home... He didnt talk to anybody! Our address is clearly marked 4874, but the technician was supposed to go to 4678! We live in an 8 acre woods where we try to live harmoniously with nature, therefore we never apply pesticides or insecticides... Until TruGreen came and destroyed that history. They have acted like its no big deal, but it is to us. We have honeybees, two decorative ponds with fish, a cat and a dog who has health problems. I feel that they owe us compensation for trespassing and destruction of private property, but mostly for going against our philosophy of how we live with nature not against it. Im still waiting to hear from Angie from corporate in Memphis, TN. I wonder how often TruGreen and other Lawncare service companies have mistakenly treated other peoples lawns!
They are a decent service but I don t conduct business with people who are money hungry . I put my services on hold and I ve had a family member tell me they did the same thing then they came out and did her service without her permission and charged her double. They are trying to keep doing my services without my knowledge but keep getting paid hell no I can do my own lawn care thank you
Weeds continue to show up. I have been a customer for well over a year now. Continue to hear much of the same...we wil... retreat...retreat. At this point Im thinking about terminating my service and find another service provider. The call center staff is always courteous, as well as the techs.
I pre-paid for 1 year of service with TruGreen. Throughout that time, many of my treatments were given to my neighbors lawn- sometimes I would notice this and tell the technician mid-application, sometimes I was not home, so my treatment was missed entirely. Upon completion of my 1 year pre-paid service, TruGreen automatically renewed my treatments and began to attempt to charge my credit card monthly. Had I known this service would automatically renew I would have called to cancel, but at the time of initial purchase I was not informed of this. I was billed for 2 lawn treatments after my 1 year; 2 treatments which I didn t even receive, my neighbor did. Upon TruGreen attempting to bill my credit card, payment was denied, as I had recently received a new credit card. I received a call from TruGreen, attempting to collect payment. I am cautious, and understandably so, I DO NOT give out my credit card number over the phone to someone calling me. I requested from the caller a paper statement/bill be mailed to me. He said he would do that. Weeks pass, and nothing came in the mail.. until today, it was a notice from a collection agency!!! For real?! I called TruGreen, explained everything, and that it s wrong for me to pay for 2 treatments I did not consent to, and additionally treatments my neighbor received, not me! When I asked the lady on the phone what can be done to make this right, she said you can make a payment . This is unbelievable! I have to pay for something I didn t consent to, and a service I did not receive.
My lawn is now almost dead! WTF I was by trugreen that it is because I didnt water my lawn. THATS BULL, nobody in my neighborhood waters their lawn but yet they all have green grass and I have brown grass. If anyone reads this post before they take it down DO NOT BUY TRUGREEN SERVICES.
We ordered organic lawn service. Before ordering, we spoke in depth with them about the fact that we did not want chemicals of any kind on our lawn. We have small children who play in the yard, and our middle child has a reactive airway and is very sensitive to/triggered by chemical lawn treatments. We explained our situation. They told us what is used and we agreed to the organic/all natural lawn care plan after they assured us they could naturally treat our lawn without the use of any traditional/chemical treatments. They treated our lawn with traditional chemicals, as opposed to the organic mixture THREE different times!!! We only received ONE treatment that was organic/all natural, and that is because we were home when they arrived with the wrong truck load of chemicals...so they went back and got a different truck with the organic treatment. Every time the lawn was treated with chemicals we were so explicitly against, we called. They were apologetic, and had no explanation for why they had given us the wrong service yet again.The last time was the final straw and we demanded a refund of the $2800 we had paid upfront since we clearly not only did NOT get what we paid for, but we WERE given chemicals on our lawn that we were adamantly against from the very beginning. We were also told a regional manager would call us. We never got a call. We finally just saw a refund, weeks later, for $1000... which Im assuming is for the remainder of the treatments they have not done yet. This is unacceptable. We did NOT get what we paid for, we DID get harmful chemicals on our lawn that our children play on (chemicals we clearly told them we did not want any part of), and we are demanding a complete refund!!! Shame on you, TruGreen!
The program that I was on this summer was a complete waste of money. After paying for multiple applications, and several return services due to inadequate initial application, the only difference I noticed with my lawn was MORE weeds. If you want to spend hundreds of dollars for the condition of your lawn to get worse, then I highly recommend this company.
I was referred to TruGreen for lawn services not knowing that they do not do lawn maintenance such as mowing. I submitted an online quote request and received a call minutes later. They had asked what I was looking to get done and I started off with I would like the lawn mowed and edged and the rep just hung up on me. I then called the 800 number for a quote which is when I was told that they do not perform those services. The rep in Vandalia was unprofessional and disrespectful by just hanging up on me instead of explaining that they perform those services.
They show up when the mood strikes. I have giant weeds everywhere.
great service, I am a new customer and I appreciate the technician being willing to explain the different aspects of their service to me.
Not really happy with service,they have a communication break down, dont do what they say, treat yard to much,call to sell you more things you dont want.
Most frustrating company to communicate with I have ever encountered. All calls are now routed through corporate 800 line. Cannot talk to local people. I had a cell phone number for local supervisor--who I met and liked and respected. That number now connects to the corporate 800 number. Local number online also routes through the corporate 800 number. Very effective at starting service. Absolutely incompetent at making any modifications. Spoke to local applicator who struck me as good guy and great employee. He said he hears from his customers all the time how frustrating it is to try to communicate with TruGreen. Fertilizer applied unevenly so lawn was striped. Called local office to complain and left voice mail. I think--no one ever told me--they did a second application. I used them for one year. Never again. I am leaving out of frustration over poor communication and am trying a small local company that is hungrier and will, hopefully, be more responsive. Local company is cheaper, but that is less important to me than working with a company that is responsive to my requests--that company is NOT TruGreen.
For my first encounter with the phone service, a guy was very rude and hung up on me because I needed to think about it. A different person called from this branch and apologized for my first encounter. I then ended up setting up a time for my first lawn care.... no call, no show, nothing. I then called the guy whom represented me and he said he would get them out here ASAP.... No call, no show, nothing. They are very unreliable as a company.
You can not communicate with these people I have tired for about 3 weeks now and still not been contacted by a manager and all I wanted to know was why grass has brown spots after Last treatment. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Never came when they scheduled. Still had many weeds and crab grass. Left the gate open and my dog got out.
