The experience working with J s was fantastic from start to finish. They were extremely attentive and communication was prompt and never delayed. We scheduled the initial estimate and Jay came out personally to do it. He listened to our ideas and asked questions to make sure he understood our vision. He suggested things to help us realize our vision but never pressured us to spend more or change our overall vision. Within a couple of days he supplied an estimate along with numerous pictures of things we talked about to ensure we were all on the same page. The crew that came out was fantastic to work with and extremely efficient. The entire job was done in 4 days with some additional small projects we added during the job. The final result was amazing and even the neighbors are asking who did the work and to put the cherry on top, the final cost was BELOW the original estimate. All in all, the entire experience was amazing and we would highly recommend J s to anyone looking for some landscape projects.

Wed like to give a big shout out to Js Custom Landscaping. Our experience started with a visit from Jason, who listened to our concerns and offered insightful ideas and suggestions. They installed a retaining wall, salvaged our old fence (saving money) to place on top of it, raised our yard 2 feet, improved the soil, placed sod, established flower beds set sprinklers and installed landscape lights. The crew of Aldofo, Jose R, and Jesus were very hard and skilled worker. They cleaned up every night and kept a very neat construction site. The end result far exceeded our expectations. Jason kept outstanding communication before, during and after the project. He always responds quickly to messages. We will certainly use Js again, and if we are really lucky, get the same crew. These guys did a retaining wall in my backyard and did an excellent job. Couldnt believe they completed the wall, put in a bunch of River Rock and the back filled it w dirt and it only took 3 days to complete. Prices were very reasonable.

Jay and his team were amazing. Our neighbors cut all their trees and Jay and his team came, reviewed and had a plan in mind. His team planted a row of 200+ ft of various evergreen fast growing trees and they are great. During the hot summer he provided the supplies of have them watered by a timer. Great service! Js Landscaping did a very good job at my house: Regrading and graveling front parking strip and taking out one of two trees growing too close together. Josh and Jamison were friendly, competent, and did a fine job. I recommended them, based on my experience.

I had a raised bed area where the deer fence needed replacing and the external paths around the beds needed expanding. It was tricky as it was on an incline. Nick was great at understanding what I wanted and planning and getting it completed. I am thrilled with the results. I love going down to garden now. I have enough space in the new area for a cabinet for tools as well as a table and 2 chairs. Their prices are reasonable and fair. Their crew works hard even in the pouring rain. I highly recommend Js Custom Landscaping. I am now using them to redo my low voltage lighting.

Js Custom Landscaping has been maintaining our landscaping for quite some time. Their crew does a great job and we couldnt be happier. We recently hired them to add mulch to our landscape and again - top quality product and service! In addition to the landscaping, we hired Js to build a custom patio with a cover. This was a challenge and Js made sure that the new area matched perfectly with our custom craftsman cedar home! Having lived in FL long ago - I insisted on hurricane resistant construction - and indeed the cover is solid as a rock! We did have one minor issue with the winds coming out of the gorge and Js made sure our concerns were met in a timely and quality matter. What makes Js different is a local owner who cares about his customers and his crew members! They are indeed a pleasure to work with and they have earned our trust by solid performance!

Wow! J s Custom landscaping has helped us in the past with fixing our sprinkler system and revitalizing our (clay soil) lawn and we were very pleased with their work. However, the recent work they did for us blew us away! This past month, we had them tear out both sides of our front lawn and our large tree, and create a brand new landscaped environment, with boulders, a dry riverbed, a new tree, perennials, shrubs and blueberry plants. We are thrilled with the results, which far exceeded our expectations for what we ever imagined our yard could look like. Every time I drive up to my house now, I have to walk around and admire the yard. Within one day of having the job completed, multiple neighbors had stopped by to ask who we had to do the work. Greg, who managed the project, communicated with us on a daily basis with updates on the project, especially when temperatures reached 105° and adjustments had to be made. He was also flexible on plans for the landscaping, allowing us to incorporate existing plants and also to pick which plants we wanted included in the final landscape design. (I am a plant nerd, so this was important to me!) The crew was hard-working and professional. Really cannot recommend this company enough.

Over a year ago, Js Custom Landscaping overhauled our patio, removing buckled concrete, installing pavers and new lighting, and building a new paver-lined stairway. As my earlier review stated, they did exceptionally good work in a short period of time. This week, I asked the contractor to send a rep to quote another job; when the rep arrived, he noticed that two of the lights they had installed 13 months ago were flickering. He quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired it next day. After more than a year!!! This shows they not only do fast and expert work, but also care very much about their customers and are willing to go the extra mile. Very, very impressing!

We worked with Nick and his crew at Js Custom Landscaping for the installation of new paver stones, to replace an old concrete walkway. The job required cutting out sections of the aged concrete with a saw, removal of the debris, and the matching of the new pattern pavers to the existing area. All of this was handled extremely professionally, and was done on time and on budget by Js hardworking crew. At the same time as the pavers project, they also completed several miscellaneous and somewhat smaller jobs in our yard, which could be characterized mainly as general fall cleanup. In fact, this is the second year that weve hired Js (and Nick) to work for us; and we couldnt be more pleased with this company! We will be repeat customers in the future. Vancouver, Washington.

Js is one of the best referrals weve ever gotten. We had a gnarly clay wasteland, and now with Jay and his crew, we have an aesthetic landscape that we love. I am having a wedding in my backyard and needed extra space. Victor, Nicholas, and Julio did the incredible back-breaking work of installing my paver patio. They were early to work every single day, and stayed late to finish and barely took breaks. They were kind, with great attitudes, and helped me decide on a few details after the plan was formed. I m honestly in awe of what they did. Very talented trio! Greg sold me on the job and instantly I knew I could work with him as he was honest, humble, and never raised an eyebrow at the small changes I made along the way. They were very respectful of me as a woman making all the decisions. All of them had incredible attention to detail and though they had plenty of other jobs to do after mine, they did everything to perfection! I would hire them again without question. Nick from Js Custom Landscaping operates with high integrity. Before I explain that, I must share a short backstory. For more than a year, my husband contacted countless (10?) local landscape companies to request bids for landscaping and irrigation. Many of them were referrals from friends, yet everyone we contacted turned out to be a dead-end road. It was very difficult to get anyone to show up, let alone respond with a bid. Was our yard too intimidating for other companies? I dont know why we had such trouble finding a landscaper, but when my husband looked at Yelp in April 2019 and found Js Custom Landscaping, we hoped it wouldnt be another dead-end. Much to our delight, Nick came through and responded! Not only did he respond, Nick worked within our schedule to meet with us promptly and he earned extra points by providing a bid. While hes not the cheapest bid, we are happy we chose him and his company. They worked with us on plant selection and worked hard to finish the job before the proposed finish date. I was very impressed that he had a portable bathroom dropped off in front of our home for the employees to use. The mailman and Amazon delivery drivers appreciated it, too! Usually, when we have maintenance done, the employees come in and use our bathroom or mysteriously go somewhere else. Im glad the company treats their employees well by offering this for them. We were pleased with the work Nick and the crew did, and we even inquired about landscape maintenance. Now we also have our yard tuned up weekly by them. Their 1-year warranty on plants is very impressive. We had some plants die within the first couple months of being installed and as I type this review, his crew is in our yard replacing all the dead plants. We also had an issue with the irrigation system, but Nick was swift to respond and take action to resolve things. Were all human. Mistakes happen. Im an understanding person. I look at how Nick handled the issues that arose and I applaud him on how he addressed them. He treats his coworkers and customers with respect and operates his business with a high level of integrity. Thats why I feel compelled to leave this well-deserved 5-star review.

What an amazing experience working with this company! After my initial inquiry, we were contacted immediately, and met with Greg (project manager) within a few days. We had a quote a week later, and we were on their schedule shortly thereafter. We cannot believe how great they were to work with. We tweaked our design a bit, and they accommodated - graciously! Greg was super communicative, knowledgeable, and helpful. He made good suggestions, and enhancements and we are very happy with the result. I should mention, that the crew was also very friendly, hardworking and efficient. To top it off, Js was fairly priced. We had done two very expensive projects (at another house) with another local landscaping company, but we were quite disappointed with the second result. We decided to contact Js for this project, and I cannot tell you how glad we are that we did. Well done Js!

This past summer J s built a custom covered patio for us. It was a pleasure working with Jay, Greg, Josh and their crew. They took great care in integrating a beautiful addition to our home. Communication was superb and we are very happy with how it turned out!

Existing rock patios were replaced with pavers that are beautiful, functional and will be far easier to maintain. The crew did a marvelous job and got the details right. Cleanup could not have been better.

They removed our deck and fence in one day, then put in a paver patio, synthetic grass and new fence by the end of the week. The efficiency and meticulousness of their work was much appreciated. These guys did an amazing job completely redoing my lawn! They got me in weeks before projected and they finished the job within a week (thankfully we had good weather). I m hiring them for my routine landscaping too! I highly recommend them.

I first contacted Js as the result of seeking a recommendation from a local nursery. I contacted and received estimates from multiple companies, but thought Js seemed the most professional. I couldnt be more pleased with the results. The crew showed up on time and worked hard the entire time they were here, with excellent results. The original catalyst for my hiring them was to remove three columnar juniper that were dying from spider mites, which they did without damaging my underground drip irrigation.They did a very professional job of pruning many small boxwoods, some barberries and two stretches of arborvitae as well. They also did a great job of cleaning up. I would not hesitate to hire them again!

Do yourself a favor and go with Js Custom Landscaping. I contracted with Js to put in 16 Arborvitae to help in selling our home. Our estimator Jason did a fantastic job and Js was able to meet out tight timeline even though they were booked out. From day one of the estimate to the final project, working with Jason was a breeze. We removed to huge bushes, had a 60 foot old railroad tie retaining wall changed to a block one, a 70 foot fence replaced, then our paver pathway redone and re-leveled (a huge project!) Any questions or concerns were immediately answered, the crew was amazing, and we are so happy with the final product. I would highly recommend J s and would most definitely use them again for any future projects!

We love our new paver patio! Geoff came out to our a house a couple times before we moved forward and helped us decide on the type of stone and design of the patio. We never felt rushed, or that he was trying to get a sale. Geoff always answered our questions throughout the process. Adolfo, Jose, and Julio were also professional were meticulous but also efficient. They did beautiful quality work and cleaned up every day before leaving. The team takes pride in their work and it shows! They had great communication and were flexible with a couple last minute changes we made. I highly recommend!

We hired Js to design and execute the landscaping of our new home. It was a very large and challenging project at approximately one acre on a sloped lot with serious water run-off issues to deal with. Every person we dealt with was a joy to work with and took a personal interest in our project. Their design incorporated dry creek beds to channel water in an aesthetically pleasing way that matches our taste. We had the largest rain storm we have had in years last night and the dry creek beds did their job! They also did extensive irrigation, a retaining wall, lawn, bark, dozens of boulders, a walking path, and over 200 trees and shrubs. The whole job took significantly longer than originally anticipated but they stuck to their original bid while accommodating several on-the-fly changes and even threw in a few extras. This was Phase 1 of 2 and we will definitely hire Js again in the future. I have recommended them to a couple friends and would highly recommend them to you.

J s seemed like a very professional and quality landscaping company, however, after the tech came out for bid we never heard back from them. From reading other reviews it does not sound like this is an uncommon occurrence.

Nick and the crew were always on-time and very courteous. Their professionalism and work ethic were fantastic!! I couldnt believe how quickly the job was completed and they did a great job putting in a whole new sprinkler system, completely redoing the mulch beds and putting new sod in the front and back yards. Love it!!!

This company has done our landscape maintenance for over 6 years. They also advise on needed changes as plants outgrow their space. Whenever theyve made significant changes, such as removing trees or large shrubs and replacing with new, youd never know major digging and changes had been done and the new plants have prospered. Yesterday we again had major changes with removal of plants that outlived their beauty, significant pruning of large trees., and replanting of new ones. Again, youd never know so much work had been done, except to see the new ones added. I asked that one of the new plants (already put in place) be moved. Without hesitation, Alfredo marked the new spot for replanting. - no problem. That is the way their crews operate. I can ask a question any time. When I have questions about pruning, they are quick to accommodate. They work efficiently and Im always amazed how well and thoroughly the job is done in short order. A year ago an end to our cinder block wall was beginning to fall. They didnt merely replace and re-secure the blocks, but they reshaped it providing a very attractive curve and much sturdier support. We will continue , for many years to come, to appreciate not only their maintenance work, but their expertise in all aspects of landscaping care and the courtesy of their personnel from the crews in our yard to their office support.

We found Js after having a bad time with a previous landscaper who never showed up but kept wanting more money. We didnt have much money left for our project after that, but Js was very reasonable so we were still able to finish most of the things we wanted to do. Nick Hagen always responded quickly and easy to work with. They were accommodating of a few changes we needed to make along the way. They always showed up on time and finished the job to our specifications. Mario who redid our sprinkler system was great too. Now we have a neat tidy yard that is a pleasure to see out the window. We would highly recommend them.

We hired J s Custom Landscaping to transform our backyard in March of 2014. Before we started the project we got bids from multiple landscapers. The reason we picked J s Custom Landscaping was because the owner, Jay, took the time to really listen to what we wanted to do. We started off the quote with literally everything we would want in our yard, we then customized the request to fit within our budget with getting those most bang for our dollar. Our project ended up consisting of, two stacked boulder retaining walls (3-4 feet tall), a beautiful waterfall with a small pond, putting in a french drain to help with our soggy weather and drainage from the neighbors uphill, expanding our lawn to double what we had before, new sprinklers and reinstalling our existing gravel path and side French drain due to the need for equipment to get in the backyard. The project was bid to take approximately a week, weather permitting. Jay s team did a wonderful job of turning our small backyard full of elevation changes into a larger feeling space we could get out and actually enjoy. Our friends and family who come over are always wowed by how beautiful and functional the space is now. Recently we had an issue regarding our reinstalled french drain on the side of our yard that caused for water to start pooling in our path and flow under the house. As soon as Jay and his team heard about this they came out, assessed what happened and reinstalled a new french drain. To me it is one thing to make a space look nice, but to stand behind your work three years later is amazing and so appreciated! I would definitely recommend working with this company to transform your space. They are reasonably priced, hard working, very ethical and stand behind their work. You couldn t ask for a better landscaping company.

We had our backyard completely torn out and rebuilt with pavers and a beautiful block planter across the back. They moved our shed, they took away all the old ground cover (rocks, bricks, etc) It is wonderful! Adolfo and his partner (sorry, I dont remember his name) responded to every request, were clean and neat and showed up on time, kept to their schedule. They are very polite and kind to our dog. Also replanted all our plants and set up our drip system. It was a great experience for us. Next Spring--the front yard! Thank you to Nick and all your crew!

Working with Jay and his crew was a wonderful experience. The job went exactly as promised and the results are amazing. Working with the on site crew was a pleasure--the job site was clean every evening and everything was completed on time and perfectly.

Js a Custom Landscaping has transformed our overgrown mess of a yard into a virtual oasis. They had a huge job on their hands. This yard both front and back had been untended for I dont know how long. My husband and I had Jay come out and go over some ideas and requested suggestions and together we came up with a plan. We received a detailed quote. They do have an office to contact if you have any concerns or questions. They also respond in a timely manner to your emails. Many landscapers have no office. As the project moved along they were more than accommodating when we wanted to tweak things in a different direction than originally planned. They always made sure we were satisfied with the work as it progressed. The project included a retaining wall in front and one in the back yard, a new fence in the back, paver paths, big slabs for a patio base, an arborvitae screen, a complete dig out of existing front yard, with new sod and a curved stone stairway from the street up to our house. Before, guests had to walk up the steep driveway to get to the house so we definitely wanted to add steps. It was a complete outdoor gut job. We could not be happier with the result. The workers were the hardest working guys we ever saw and the weather was hot hot hot. We would recommend them to anyone thinking of any yard project, big or small, and extremely skilled in customizing a plan to your particular needs or limitations your area may impose. I cannot say enough good things about the work done in our yard by J s Custom Landscaping. It was a huge project in a large, steeply-sloped backyard that included two patios, retaining walls, many stairs, lighting, sprinkling system and plants. They have transformed the area, and we couldn t be happier! We were especially impressed by Nick Hagen and his crew. Nick was very involved from start to finish. He was careful with the estimates and there were never any surprises. When I texted or called him as the work progressed he either answered immediately or returned my call within minutes. We felt he took extra care to make sure the job was done well. This was not an easy project, and the crew worked very hard. They were always friendly, responsive to questions and very respectful of our home. We also appreciated that Jay visited the site several times to check on the work. Clearly everyone we worked with takes great pride in their workmanship. We have already recommended J s Custom Landscaping to neighbors and friends and will continue to do so!

Thumbs up! Js Custom Landscaping helped me overhaul my yard earlier this year, turning it from blah to boom! with the expertise of employee Nick Hagen and his nimble crew. From creating gravel and stone pathways to building beautiful landscape berms, planting or transplanting tons of plants and topdressing with compost and hemlock bark, they knew how to throw down! I especially appreciated Nicks patience, communicativeness and willingness to help me draft a design plan that reflected my vision. Even hired Js for a second phase - the front yard - soon after. One thing: The owner - Jay? - was friendly but seemed to balk at my desire to have a written contract that spelled out the scope of work and included both parties sigs. That should be a given in any transaction involving thousands of dollars. We did knock out a written agreement after all, and Id work with this company again.

Js Custom Landscaping maintains the common areas for the Lake Pointe neighborhood in Camas. When we hired Jay and his crew, we needed some much needed rejuvenation of the planting beds. I watched Jay and his team work so carefully to trim and to stimulate healthy, new growth for the plants and then he reshaped our front beds to create an incredibly eye-catching entrance to our neighborhood.
