Thank you, Simple Lawns, for making life easier for us!! After being with Simple Lawns for over 2 years, we want to say that this company continues to be top-notch. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. Our yard looks so much better now than it did before we used their services. With their state-of-the-art equipment and know-how, they get so much done in their time here. The work they do is BEAUTIFUL. Every employee (from the office staff to the people who work on our property) is so patient with our questions and willing to please. And, the communication among the staff is exceptional; Our messages get passed on to the right person, and the follow-up is excellent. There is a changeover of the teams that come to our yard, but our landscaping preferences are conveyed really well from one team to the next. Currently Leo and Roman are coming to our property. They continue the fine work that the teams before them have done. I wish I knew the names of all the yard crew members who have done such a good job for us.

I had a great patio experience from start to finish. First getting a quote was quick and professionally scheduled. Oleg came when he said he would, listened to what I wanted, added his input and had a quote back within a week. When I wanted to make changes to it or had questions, he was extremely responsive. Price wise, they were the middle of 3 quotes and with the experience I had over the phone and with Oleg, I had no qualms about using simple lawns.The 2 guys who came out to do the patio were the fastest I have ever seen. Igor set them up and they had my patio built in 4 days, it would have been 3 if it werent for the extreme heat. Other companies were saying it would be several weeks! They had no problem navigating the many fences on my property, and were completely cleaned up and out of the yard at the end of day 4. I would definitely use them again for future hardscaping projects.

A truly professional company - From David quoting our job over the phone on my initial call, to Hector & Crew arriving when scheduled to start work. At the end of each work day, the Crew would clean the work area, were very nice, and you could tell, genuinely like working at Simple Lawns & Lanscape Design. We just had our front yard landscaped by Simple Lawns LLC. (October 2024) Our house is in SW Portland and our front yard has a steep incline. We first worked with David, who helped choose all the plants for our yard. We are very happy with his choices. Before our yard could be planted, Ignacio and Diego had to clear out most of the existing plants and weeds. Plus they put in an irrigation system with drip lines. They did an amazing job! Igor, our project manager was very attentive when we spoke with him.

We ve hired Simple Lawns & Landscape for multiple jobs now and are incredibly happy with both the process and results! Will definitely continue to go to them for our landscaping needs.

Great crew of guys. My house was always taken care of clean, and efficient. When asked to handle additional simple tasks such as pulling out a dead plant, or trimming back some out of control lavendar, they quickly jumped on it. Would highly recommend.

I was so impressed by everyone I worked with at Simple Lawns from the time I submitted my request for a contact and quote all the way until the project was completed. David did a fantastic job understanding the design I was going for and helped me dial in some plant selections and procuring the exact plants I wanted. The crew did high quality work and the project manager/foreman stopped by several times to check on everything. Communication was excellent - concise, frequent, and timely - from start to finish with the whole team. There was a single minor glitch with one incorrect tree delivered, but the foreman took care of it promptly. I asked the crew lead to help decide on placement of the landscape boulders and they came out perfect. Many neighbors have stopped by to tell me how beautiful the yard turned out and they love the pathways in the front (which are top notch quality)! The team also did a great job updating my 25-year old irrigation from busted sprinkler lines and heads to efficient new drip irrigation, which has been awesome. I have worked here for a little over a year and had to move on for personal reasons. I had the privilege to work with an amazing team that has really high standards! At the start of each work day, the office team gathered to check in with how each person was doing and making a game plan for the day. Our experience working with simple lawns has been great! They were always on time, very responsive and professional. We had some unforeseen issues which were handled with creative solutions. We had pavers placed, turf, river rock and a kids play area with wood chips. We also had some yard clean up and help with sprinklers. They were skilled in every aspect of the project. The owners and employees were across the board kind, honest and fair. We have and will continue to recommend simple lawns to our friends and for any future work we may need.

Update - 1 year later Still love it! The plants have filled in. Every couple of weeks another plant comes into bloom with a burst of color. Were seeing honey bees and birds. Bringing fresh cut flowers inside. And our dogs are loving sniffing whatever visits yard overnight! ---------------------------------------- 100% recommend! On time, on budget, professional start to finish. I had an overall idea of how I wanted to replace a boring grass and river rock front yard with a more natural-looking, sustainable landscape. Had two conversations with David, and his team installed exactly what I wanted, including drip irrigation! I could not be happier!

Key take-aways: The fine folks at Simple Lawns (SL) have transformed my bare minimum backyard into a simple and elegant Zen Garden in less than ten working days. Each employee I interacted with demonstrated skills, professionalism, flexibility, and they cared about customer satisfaction, and were respectful of my/neighbors properties. David (designer/cost estimator): Upon David s first visit, the pertinent questions he posed with me truly instilled confidence in me that SL would have the expertise to bring the project to success. Creation of my dream Zen Garden (two Yin-Yang Symbols plus one Infinity Symbol) required specific rocks/stones. David put in a lot of time and energy to locate and procure just the perfect material (size, color, texture) within my budget constraint. My original contract also called for trimming existing trees, including one large cherry tree. Unfortunately, the first couple days into the project, (with the help of an arborist friend) I realized that the 30-year-old cherry tree was actually a dying tree. This became a major project scope change because of the enormous size of the tree and its robust root system, which removal required a stump grinding company s assistance. This scope change presented a disruption to the initially planned workflow. Still, David took it in stride while moving people, equipment, and truck and brought the project to a happy ending. The Crew: Igor (project manager), Alberto (lead) and Dennis made up my lean and capable crew. They did a fabulous job executing the design vision David and I came up with. They showed great flexibility in accommodating design changes. The image of the two Yin-Yang symbols I showed them required using edger stones to separate the Yin and Yang. The crew came up with a creative approach using snap edging material to make the symbols look even more authentic. During the project, they kept my property clean. One evening prior to taking off for the weekend, they stayed way past 8:00pm to pressure wash my driveway and the street. They seemed to know how to do everything well, including also building a fence gate, planting blue fescues, installing metal cranes/solar lights, etc. My next-door neighbor Al I d not do my crew members justice without saying a few words about my funny neighbor Al (the name has been changed to protect the not-so-innocent). He was at the time unemployed and had a lot of free time watching the crew do their work. He seemed to treat my yard as an extension of his property. On day one of the project, he even came over to give instructions to the crew, in my presence and to my dismay, on how to trim my trees for his benefit. When Alberto and Dennis were cutting down the cherry tree in pouring rain, Al yelled at them very rudely. Later I found out from Al s mother that the entire family was upset at our cutting down a perfect healthy cherry tree that had provided them with so much beauty and shade for years. At the end of the day, all I can say is Alberto and Dennis had out-classed Al and stopped the chain of pain created by Al, who is only half my age. In conclusion/my appreciation: In the past decade, I was brave enough to take on several home/yard renovation projects. I always consider them to be character building opportunities. The way I measure the success of each project is by how much sense of humor I still have left at the end of the project. Oftentimes, I found myself having to totally rebuild my sense of humor because how difficult the process had turned out to be. This time with SL, I believe that my sense of humor has stayed intact even with my funny neighbor Al s negative contribution. I ve also found my crew members to get along with and support one another well. My conclusion is: the owner/managers of SL must have treated their employees RIGHT for the employees to exhibit such a high level of teamwork, dedication and professionalism.

We are really impressed with Simple Lawns. They were easy to work with, professional, and they delivered. We had a pipe burst in our Backflow that services our sprinkler system. Simple Lawns was able to repair and replace the piping and they made it look easy. They really know what they re doing and they are a pleasure to work with.

Simple Lawns was great. I had a broken gaskets, a leaking line, and malfunctioning sprinkler heads in our home we recently bought. Ethan our tech fixed all the problems for us. Simple Lawns recently completed our backyard project and were a pleasure to work with every step of the way. We worked with another company in the past for a separate project and attributed some interactions and situations to industry standard . (As that is what we had been told.) Oleg (landscape designer) was the shining star. Being an excellent communicator, always arriving on time and being cheerful and positive in every interaction was just the beginning. I was thrilled that he managed the entire project from the initial visit through installation and follow-up. PLANNING: Oleg helped me with the landscape plan, making excellent suggestions, promptly answering my millions of questions, cheerfully revising plans as we went through the process and he built incredibly beautiful custom cedar planter boxes for my space. INSTALLATION/Follow-Up: Oleg also provided oversight for the project during installation, and quickly and cheerfully ensured that any questions or issues were resolved. The crew really hustled, and completed the job two days earlier than expected. They also left the entire space immaculately clean at the end of each day. Many thanks to Oleg and the crew!

We used Simple Lawns to install sod in our back yard and correct a pathway corner. David, Igor, Alberto, and Serafin were awesome to work with! They went above and beyond to get our project done.

We had a great experience with them. Communication was easy and fast. Igor, Valente, and Jesus did new stairs by the side of our house in Camas and we love them. We have a very steep side and they initially thought we could do less stairs but readjusted on site to make stairs that were safe for our little kids to walk on! Got snow plowing done for the parking lot that only received about 3 inches of snow. Definitely could have plowed a little better. Average time for snowplowing is said to be 90 minutes per acre. We hired them to plow for 1 hour and there was lot of ice/snow left. Did not communicate where they should pile it. Missed a section by basketball court.

I hired Simple Lawns to re-do my backyard. They installed a beautiful raised garden bed, extended the patio with pavers, added a paved walkway, another walkway with large stepping stones, updated the sprinkling system to accommodate the changes and finally added river rock. Two employees hand dug a trench 120 feet long, 18 inches deep and 5 inches wide. The trench is for electrical wiring to our greenhouse. Had to hand trench due to numerous flower beds, irrigation pipes and tree roots. No damage was done to any of these obstacles. The cut pieces of sod were laid next to the trench and the many piles of dirt were also next to the trench, convenient for shoveling back into the trench. Great job, guys were polite and professional. Absolutely would hire them again.

I honestly didnt get any other quotes because I felt like Simple Lawns was already very reasonably priced, timely, detailed, and a delight to converse with. I planned on only having them do my backyard, but after getting the quote back, it was an easy decision to have them do the front yard at the same time! Incredible team and attention to detail.

Recently had a very overgrown path that required major clean up. Spoke with David and Igor who were very quick to respond and discuss the work that needed done as well as lay out a timeline. I also had a flagstone path installed once clean up was complete. Everything was done very nicely and Igor was sure to follow up and ensure that his team completed the job agreed upon. I had one small adjustment I requested and Igor was quick follow up and even checked up again to ensure we were happy with the work of his team. I would definitely hire them for landscaping services in the future!

David and Igor were great to work with, very professional, good quotes, and adjusted on the fly for a simple backyard makeover with sod and bark dust, and gravel patio. Well done and the crew was great. My only suggestion is getting samples and doing walk through a week or two before install.

I have used this service several times. They relandscaped my yard several years ago and freshen up the bark every other year. We had David and Alberto do the bark today. Very professional and courteous. The yard looks 100% better

In September 2020 they made a simple mistake and wrote my address instead of my neighbor. I get a phone call at work saying they ve torn up about 1/3 of my front lawn on accident. My front lawn had been redone only two years earlier and was immaculate. No big deal, David was great and promised to replace it and restore it to its original glory. Seven months passed by of me calling, texting, and emailing with no response. Finally I had a lawyer send them a letter, suddenly they re all kinds of cooperative! They signed a contract saying the lawn would be replaced on April 13th. After they failed to show up on April 13th, I sent them a letter saying if it wasn t completed by the 15th I d be taking them to small claims court. Finally They show up on the 15th. Three months later my lawn is patchy, incomplete, and full of weeds! Multiple phone calls and emails have once again gone unanswered. I work for a family owned business and if we decided not to take responsibility for mistakes we made, we d be out of business. I tell every person I know to avoid these guys at all costs. It should be noted, my neighbor who had actually scheduled them to do their lawn isn t very happy with them either. But she s a sweet elderly woman who doesn t have the energy to fight with them like I ve done.

David runs a very professional operation. He is responsive, timely, and communicates frequently throughout the project. He was very patient as my project got delayed a couple of times. Igor and his crew created a beautiful finished project despite encountering some unexpected challenges. I couldnt be more pleased with my final outcome.

Igor, Valente, and Jesus were the dream team for us! Everything they did was meticulous and explained in detail. They were also sensitive to our HOA s needs and kept the sidewalk and crosswalks clear. They worked like Trojans, from 8:30 am to after 6:30pm with very few breaks. They rolled with a last minute change in the plans and accommodated our request-even having to undo some work that had already been done. They were pleasant and commutative, double checking with us to make sure they were doing the work that we wanted. They were a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend them without reservation.

I had my backyard landscaped and wanted specific plants and rocks incorporated. I m so impressed with how great my yard looks now! Oleg, Cirilio and Armando were very conscientious in asking where I wanted plants and large rocks placed. I left it all up to them except for the trees. They obviously have the eye for beautiful landscape plantings and designs. They had to extend the drip system and had to dig up grass in my front yard to do so. You d never know anything was ever done and left the grass and bark looking exactly and better than when they came! I highly recommend landscape and irrigation performed by them.

After shopping around for a while I finally choose Simple Lawns to help me install retaining walls at my backyard, and I m super happy with the works done by Valente, Jesus and Igor. I thought it would at least take one week to finish the job, but these guys did way faster and just in three days with highest quality and most importantly, at very reasonable price. David was my main contact, and he was always professional and more than that, very patient with all the changes and the unexpected delays. He also had to deal with the neighbor and I appreciate him trying to navigate those altercations while I was not at home. Simple Lawns and Landscaping Design recently completed a landscaping project for my front yard. I was very happy with the final result and will book with them again when I am ready to transform the back yard. Serafin, the crew lead, did a wonderful job with the demolition and installation of new plants and irrigation system. When there was a small leak discovered after installation, the company was quick to send out an irrigation specialist, Ethan. He showed me how to fix the leak with a quick tightening and walked me through all the components of the irrigation system. Ethan was very friendly, helpful and clear with his communication. Igor and David were also pleasant to work with. David provided a thorough project estimate that let me choose from several different options based on my current budget and needs. Igor was quick to respond with messages and clear with his communication throughout the project. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

My wife and I had a lawn removal project done with metal edging, pathways, and top soil added back - and the Simple Lawns crew that did it were AMAZING! We had a great experience with Simple Lawns! They installed a three pillar bubbler for us. David was fantastic to work with to get the project going. Igor kept in touch as the project was happening. They got us scheduled super fast and the project completed in a matter of days. We are extremely happy with the finished product!

Simple Lawns did a good economical job on installing irrigation at a property we own. The conditions were not idea. First, the city of Portland was requiring a new water service to the house. That water service was requested to be adjacent to the old meter which we told Simple Lawns about, but the city moved that location by 7 feet which made the trenching more difficult to get out of the median. Second, we had a gas meter move and that created some confusion over the old vs. new gas lines, third, it was pouring rain right after move of the property was trenched, and fourth, we didnt have power to the location of the system controller. Overall, Alberto and Dennis the two guys who did most of the heavy lifting, did a really nice job. They worked late second day to get finished, and test and drain the system. With all the challenges it could have gone bad, but the crew and management stayed calm and chill and showed up at the right times and got the job done. We do expect them back in the spring for a very short install and programming of the controller. Wed use them again for sure. Last thing, they stuck to the bid which was really competitive. They compete hard and when they did a good job, you have to appreciate that.

The design and implementation far exceeded my expectations! Oleg was my project manager/designer, and he helped me tremendously with creating a sanctuary (my neighbors even called it an Oasis). I know very little about landscaping, so he was very kind and patient with coming up with ideas and explaining them in a way I could understand. And the landscapers that came out to do the work, Serafin and Igor, were beyond incredible. They were also kind, patient, and worked incredibly fast! My entire project was completed in two days, and it was essentially a complete make-over for my frontyard and backyard. Highly recommend! And I will be using them in the future if I need more work done

Our backyard was having drainage and irrigation issues due to clay and improper grading at the time of the house construction. We reached out to a couple of companies to get a quote, and David from Simple Lawns was the most responsive and most detailed in the quote provided. I am a service provider and one of my clients just had their entire landscaping redone. I was fortunate enough to get to watch the entire process and the before and after doesnt look the same in any way. The workers were very meticulous in their work in every stage of the process. The new backyard is spectacular! It is inviting with the new gazebo and water feature on the upper level with a fire pit area on the lower level and easy to maneuver from one level to the other. Im excited for my clients and am sure they will have many wonderful events in their new backyard. The front yard has new foliage that will be a lot easier to care for, and given the tier levels, will be less stressful now that mowing is not a requirement on the lower tiers.

Simple Lawns transformed the steep, blackberry riddled weedpatch we called our backyard into a lovely place for us to enjoy for years to come!! They installed a beautiful patio, raised beds for a mini garden, retaining walls, a bubbling water feature, along with many steps and a pathway to allow us to enjoy the many shrubs, flowers and trees that they planted. They also installed an irrigation system and yard lighting which really looks great especially at night! Simple Lawns is a fantastic family run company that cares about your satisfaction. David meet with me several times to understand what my wife and I envisioned as this was a complete makeover of our front and rear landscape. The plan included removing all the old lawn, transplanting some existing plants, adding all new sod, adding new irrigation, over 70 plants, and paved pathways. We worked and re- worked the design and plant list based on Davids expert knowledge of what grows well in shade and in sun and how big they will grow in the years to come and what they look like as the seasons change. When work began Ricky, Felipe, and Armondo were the experts that made it all happen. They were polite, knowledgeable, and accommodating to my fine tuning of the project as things went along. I cant say enough good things about these 3 gentlemen. They were fun to work with. When it was all said and done Simple Lawns followed up to make sure my wife and I were satisfied. We absolutely loved the finished project and while we are already enjoying it we also cant wait to enjoy it as the plants mature in the years to come. I had trees transplanted, a concrete patio removed, an expanded flagstone patio installed and a gorgeous pergola installed...in other words, a pretty big job. If I could give Simple Lawns more than 5 stars, I would. They arrive when they say they will and work their hearts out when they are present. They check in to make sure the customer is happy and work until you are. They are fantastic!

This company landscapes a neighboring condominium complex. They spend most of their time with noisy leaf blowers blasting dirt, debris, and trash into the road, gutters, and onto parked cars. I feel like the work they do could easily be done every few months, rather than subjecting the neighborhood to their aimless leaf blowing on a weekly basis. The landscaping doesnt even look that good. Get a few rakes and some hedge clippers and do the environment a favor.

Simple Lawns came and put in irrigation and new sod and put in a gravel walk way. Had a very pleasant experience. They were on time and kept me informed of things they were doing from day to day. Would use them again.

The folks at Simple Lawn did a wonderful job, redesigning our ugly, wet backyard. The backyard did not have adequate drainage, sloped to the back of the house, and was constantly wet all year long. They came in, dug it all out to flatten it, built a beautiful retaining wall, reinstalled and corrected our irrigation and drainage system, and finished it off with beautiful flowers, bushes, and turf. Now we have a completey carefree yard. It is absolutely gorgeous. The dogs enjoy it immensely, as do we. This was the best investment into our home thats ever been made. They were all so friendly and helpful; and, they worked so hard, going above and beyond the call of duty each and every day. Thanks all for your wonderful service.

Simple Lawns did a wonderful job transforming our backyard into a beautiful oasis. Simple Lawns installed turf, a retaining wall, tons of flowers, river rock ground cover, a walking path through the flowers, and a small gravel walk area on the other side. They even rearranged some of our front yard flowers to maximize the beauty every season. The team was very hard working and went above and beyond to get the job done well and timely. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped us pick out beautiful flowers and new trees that would give us flowers all year long. Simple Lawns completed a detailed overhaul of my landscaping recently and I am thrilled with the result. From start to finish, David, Eddie, and their entire crew were exactly what you d want in a team. They designed within my budget and delivered on their promise of getting it all done on time. They were even able to begin the project two weeks earlier than anticipated, ending a couple of days early. Even when things weren t perfect, as was the case when a few plants died shortly after planting, they were replaced immediately. Within three weeks, my house doubled in square footage. The outside is truly part of our home now. That has a huge impact, given the amount of time we spend at home these days. What used to be overgrown and crowded shrubs turned into different vignettes designed to complement the home they surround. Simple Lawns took my ridiculous wish list (as I believe in asking for the moon and seeing how close you can get) and helped me actualize the concept. Our project included design, lighting, irrigation, shrub removal, planting, tree relocation, and maintenance, among other things. It was an investment, and well worth the cost. I am confident if we DIYed this thing, the result would ve been OK and we would ve spent less money. But the result we got from Simple Lawns has undoubtedly added significant value to our property, making the investment well worth it. We have used Simple Lawns for 5 years+. We have always had excellent service for monthly maintenance and other project from small to large.

I am actually not a customer. I am a neighbor of a customer who had extensive landscaping done by Simple Lawns. In the process, they inadvertently covered our home in a thick layer of dust while their guys were cleaning up with a big blower while a bit of wind was blowing our way. Our home is very large, and we recently had the entire place pressure washed. I was a bit annoyed and contacted the owner Vitaliy. He said he d clean it up, but I ve heard many promises like that before and had my doubts. I was pleasantly surprised when a week or so later his guys showed up with a pressure washer and washed the entire place down. Vitaliy gets high marks in my mind for no BS , acting professional, and doing exactly what he promised.

These guys are amazing! Our yard looks wonderful, theyre friendly and quick, and their customer service was fabulous when my card expired and I didnt realize it. I HIGHLY recommend them! Thank you!!

Had a great experience when they came out for a quote and we went over everything we wanted. Very detailed and honest in suggestions. Explained everything thoroughly. Based off first impressions we really want to do business with these guys. Slight miscommunication initially but we re looking forward to the 2nd quote and hopefully getting the job done! Hopefully they do landscaping better than they drive. Whoever drives a truck with OR license plate 846EQE, doing 90 in the slow lane passing fast lane traffic and spending more time on the shoulder of i205 then in his lane definitely not doing the company any favors.

Professional services

We have been using the services of Simple Lawns for about 9 months. They have done maintenance on the yards at 2 of our properties. They are improving the landscaping at our new home including design, planting, French drain, and gravel foundation for our shed. Their work is a cut above other landscaping and yard care companies. They have created a design I really like and the execution so far is really really nice (we arent done yet). I have received many compliments from neighbors on the French drain and the yard care. We have hired many companies over the years do yard care, like mowing and trimming etc. etc.- and Simple Lawns is by far the best we have had.

Simple lawns has been simply amazing! I have been using them on my personal home for almost 2 years now their attention to detail is spot on. Vitaly the owner always answers back within 24 hours of an email that I would send him regarding some concerns and has always made it right. Excellent work

We have a corner lot with a very large sprinkler system. Since we moved in there have been issues with the sprinklers and consequently the lawn. Vitaly came out and quickly figured out the problem with the sprinklers and even made several other suggestions to further improve our yard and landscaping without spending a mountain of money. Our sprinklers are now working perfectly and things are looking amazing. We are planning to have them come out to re-sod our lawns, possibly construct a feature waterfall/pond, install lighting and a put in a stone walkway through an area of the yard that gets muddy in the winter. We have been thrilled with their creativity, expertise, responsiveness and pricing!

Three quotes were sought for our irrigation project and we are very happy with our selection of Simple Lawns. Their quality of work and customer service including communication was excellent throughout the project. Our scope was irrigation installation for several levels of our sloped lot. We added a few changes as the project proceeded, and costs were extremely fair. Each day began promptly with the necessary tools for numerous zones and spray heads unique to the particular areas. They gave great attention to details and made suggestions to improve our task at hand. Our end result for this irrigation project is much more than we anticipated, and we are extremely pleased. We plan to schedule additional work with Vitaly and his crew in the near future.

Versatile and Simple Lawns saved my day. Our lawn wasnt very smooth/even and had some issues even tho it was only a year old so I contacted Versatile. After some light thatching, removing the plugs, adding top soil for leveling, reseeding, peat moss we are good to go. What a pleasure to mow and my feet do not ache from the uneven lawn anymore.
