We are a landscaping company in Omaha, NE that creates custom outdoor spaces. Our new state of the art showroom is in Valley, NE. We work with both residential & commercial clients that are in Omaha or the surrounding communities. Groundscapes was founded in 2002 by husband and wife team, Nick and Lori Heimann. We specialize in both hardscape & softscape. We also provide lawn maintenance services. We do not contract any work out, we have over 100 trained and experienced employees. Elements we often create: paver patios, pools, paver decks, fire & water features, landscape, lighting, outdoor kitchens, retaining walls and more. We have several lawn care programs, as well. We customize everything to fit your needs and style!

We had a great experience with our Groundscapes team for a backyard project completed in December 2024. Cory had excellent communication and graphic design skills and Ryan ensured any issues which arose were addressed in a timely manner even after hours and on weekends. They were very flexible and accommodated changes made beyond the planning phase. We paid for the project with three different installments and think the cost was worth it for a thorough and professional quality job. Their team discovered a flaw in our original patio that we chose to address with this upgrade to save future costs in repairs and this ended up increasing the value of our renovation even more. The generous thank you gift from Omaha steaks and grill supplies were a welcomed bonus to their great customer service! We definitely recommend them for any comprehensive hard or landscape projects no matter the size!
Sharing Our Experience with Groundscapes After the Tornado: Unfortunately, dealing with the aftermath of the tornado has been challenging in many ways. While it’s brought out the best in some, it’s also exposed the worst in others. I feel it’s only right to share our experience. For us, the most stressful part hasn’t only been the tornado damage itself, but our dealings with Groundscapes. Many of you know they built a dock for us last year. When the tornado struck, it not only caused significant damage to our home, but also compromised our dock to the point where it needed to be rebuilt. We reached out to Groundscapes for a quote to rebuild, but were shocked when they inflated the cost by over six figures, clearly taking advantage of the fact that insurance would be covering it. At the time, we believed they were the only company with the equipment needed, so my husband reluctantly gave them a large deposit to secure the job. When I suggested our contractor, who was already on-site, could handle the demo, Groundscapes refused. They said if they didn’t get the entire job, they wouldn’t do any of it. This forced us to seek out alternatives and, thankfully, we found another company being used by others in the area. We requested our deposit back, but Groundscapes claimed they had already used it to pay for a new dock frame. They presented an invoice for nearly double our deposit, saying we couldn’t get the frame since they weren’t doing the work, but we also owed them the full amount. Unfortunately it got worse: after involving our lawyer, we discovered the dock frame hadn’t been ordered at all, and no deposit had been paid to the manufacturer. The invoice they gave us was fake —a clear attempt to receive nearly $100,000 for something that didn’t exist. Despite months of legal efforts, Groundscapes has refused to return any of our deposit. When confronted about the false invoice, they have not denied it, but still won’t refund our money. As if going through a natural disaster isn’t bad enough, having your belongings disappear or be stolen right from in front of your house, to now be taken advantage of by a local company, a neighbor, has been an incredibly frustrating and disheartening experience. I feel an obligation to let others know about this. We have been very disappointed in the lack of integrity shown by Groundscapes.
The Groundscapes people were great to work with on our lake house project. They helped us design and create a new patio area that extended into the water. Josh, Ryan, GJ, Brandon and everyone we dealt with were very helpful and responsive to all our questions and concerns before and during the project. The result looks great, and we have already gotten many compliments on it.

We came to the Grand Opening and had the best time! We needed some chairs and weren’t really sure what we wanted. Melissa helped us decide what would look best for in our budget and now we can enjoy our front patio area in style! We will be back to continue adding to our outdoor living areas! Melissa was awesome to work with and everyone was so kind!
We had an amazing experience with groundscapes! We did a large backyard project, which included a large retaining wall, pool, firepit and landscaping. Groundscapes was able to do it all, and referred us to another amazing business (Rustic Craftsman) for the one thing they didn't do- the pool house. We worked with Cody through the whole process, and he was always responsive and actively worked to find the answers to our questions as needed. Anyone looking to do a pool should absolutely use this company, they are one of the few that do it all and do it best!
We needed a water feature and an outdoor grilling area for a pool project. Groundscapes was by far the best company we worked with throughout the project. Their work was outstanding and their professionalism was even better. Was truly happy with everything they did for our project. Looking back? I wish we would’ve found them sooner to just do the entire project for us! Highly recommend them, and will certainly be asking them to do more in the future for us!
I had an excellent experience using Groundscapes for a major back yard patio project. I especially appreciated the collaboration during the design process, as they went back to the drawing board after I committed to give me something that ended up exceeding my expectations. As a fellow contractor, I am keenly aware of supply chain issues and how large their backlog was…but once they were able to start my project they worked fast and effectively. I had weekly meetings where I was able to voice any concerns and make any tweaks or value adds on the fly, and those little touches really ended up making a huge difference. I gave them a curveball by having them install a hot tub from a third party and they handled that well. Their on site crew was super professional and great to work with. They came up with some creative solutions to problems as they arose. As far as the design, their team dramatically improved the look and feel of my backyard. It is unrecognizable. To be balanced, the only concern I had was we had some cost overruns beyond my original budget, but I am pretty sure my tastes are to blame for most of that. I don’t think they are the cheapest solution out there, but I would recommend them to anybody.
I had a very good experience with Groundscape Inc. They were a very high quality, efficient and organized team that went all out for us to place our landscape lighting beautifully. I will be using them again in the future.

Didn t listen to anything we told them/ asked for when we paid for a design. Then refused to give us our money back because we could use it elsewhere . Owner stepped in said they would redo the plan to our requests. However stoped responding , it took months (6-7) longer to begin than the 3-4 weeks were told. Finally they never even finished the project. Our drawers are not attached nor is the burner ( that they forgot to run electrical for ) hooked up or working.

Groundscapes was amazing! We had a pool, and a backyard make over. Every detail was paid attention to! They managed the concrete work, sprinkler systems, sod and trees. They showed up on time everyday! I would recommend Groundscapes!

The process is smooth, but lengthy. About 7 months from initial contact to project completion. The project details included regrading, removing a deck, installing two patios, rock beds with plantings, converting an irrigation zone, and a few misc. items. Price was competitive with other quotes. I am highly appreciative of, and value, the transparency and professionalism of each and every person we interacted with. The teams understand the installation process required to make a lasting product and do not leave any steps out. There was a hiccup between planned design and what the construction team was able to achieve when they arrived. There is always a warning that this can occur. Groundscapes worked quickly with us on a new plan, and a resolution was able to be achieved. I am happy that we picked Groundscapes and would recommend them to any prospective customer.

We worked with Cody at Groundscapes to bring our ideas for a paver patio, landscaping, amazing retaining wall and new front steps/walkway to life. He was so easy to work with and was able to incorporate all of our ideas. When we had a few new ideas during the install, he was able to easily accommodate the changes without any issues. Once the construction started, we had the pleasure to work with Brandon and his crew. I can not say enough great things about them! Brandon was awesome - great leadership and fantastic personality! He and the team worked diligently to complete the project on time and it looks AMAZING. Each evening the crew would clean the job site and the street where the supplies were so nobody in the neighborhood was inconvenienced. I was actually disappointed when they were done because they were a lot of fun to have around. We now have a beautiful front to our home and a dream entertaining space in the backyard! I would recommend Groundscapes, Cody and Brandon for sure!
I would highly recommend Groundscapes for their professionalism and the quality of their work! My daughter and son-in-law just had a large landscaping project done and I was onsite most days. I was extremely impressed by them - the crew showed up each day, worked hard, were courteous and respectful and thoroughly cleaned up each night. Brandon, the foreman, kept the job on schedule and was such a pleasure to be around. He was very knowledgeable about the aspects of the job and came up with some great solutions throughout the project. I cant say enough good things about Brandon and his crew!! Job well done!

Do not recommend this company to anyone. I was behind one of their trucks that had gravel and rocks flying out of their truck on my new car, I go to get around the truck and he slams on his brakes (on the freeway) to try to make me hit the back of him. I managed to get from behind him and he decided to speed up and trying to hit the side of my car and the person behind me. I get in front of him and he acted like he was going to hit the back of my car. I tried calling this company to inform them how their employee that represents them was behaving poorly, and no answer. So I tried to email them, no response. Very poorly ran company that doesn t respond to issues nor acknowledges them. Stick with a more known company, a company that cares about their rep and can actually acknowledge problems and concerns, this company does not.

Groundscapes buried my sump pump line and unbeknownst to me they cut my sprinkler line. They did not repair the cut and covered it with soil. My normal sprinkler company found the issue when they did the summer inspection. I had them repair the break as it was soaking the area. I requested that Groundscapes reimburse me for the cost of the repair as they were responsible for the damage. The owner of the company refused to work with me. Beware of this company as they do not back their work.
We had a drainage problem in our yard and wanted a total solution that included a new patio and landscaping around the entire house. Groundscapes was one of 4 vendors who we had look a the challenge and the only who showed confidence they could get it done. We were very pleased with the work, the workers, the follow up and the services. Now 9 months later everything looks great and no drainage issues. When we had a couple minor issues they came back and fixed it. I would highly recommend Groundscapes to any one.
I had a tree removed from our yard and wanted something in the place and decided on a berm. Also had some previous landscaping that needed updated. worked with Austin on finding the right design and best options for plants. I dont have good luck keeping plants alive and he helped pick out ones that could survive my skills. Couldnt be happier with the results.
We had new pavers installed around our pool by Groundscapes. The crew arrived 8am and worked hard all day. The completed project looks awesome. Thank you to Micah and his crew, GJ & Nick. You guys are great.
Groundscapes completed a paver patio with a seat wall and poured a pad for our hot tub. The process was quite smooth from the drawings in the beginning (which had to be tweaked a few times), to the scheduling, to the on site crew, site visits, and completion of project. Nick, the owner, Cody, GJ, and Ryan were all attentive to detail and any concerns. Any time we had a question via phone call or email, they were answered in a timely manner. We did have a hiccup with our existing gas line, which was taken care of promptly. The onsite crew was friendly and did a nice job of clean up after each day. We are very pleased with our patio!
Groundscapes recently did a facelift of the landscaping at my home. They were fast professional and efficient during the demo and rebuild process of my landscaping. This is the second project I ve had them do, both resulting in a beautiful finished product. Btw, they also take care of my lawn care and do a excellent job with that as well!! My yard has never looked better and people notice it!! Thx Groundscapes!
Groundscapes helped us with our mulch beds, plants, and small trees in a timely manner. They also fixed our back stone patio when another company screwed it up. We will be using them for our landscaping needs for a long time.

We started out landscaping project last fall by having Tyler come to our property and and draw up a design and proposal. We were blown away by the design and the attention to detail in correcting property line issues from the initial construction of our property. Our project began early this spring and was completed in four days. Every day the crew cleaned up the street and took care of any issues before leaving that could have resulted in complaints by our neighbors. In fact I have had several neighbors express to me how impressed they were with the daily clean up. The project was completed on time and met all of our expectations. I would highly recommend this company for any project you have and wouldn t hesitate to use them in the future. We were very impressed from the level of service and professionalism from the initial design to the final day of the project.

My husband and I just had our patio and sidewalk done by Groundscapes! The workers did an amazing job and were extremely hard working. The crew that worked on our job was Ed, Bobby, and Zach! They always kept us updated as to what was going on. The workers are top notch. The reason I gave a 3 was due to some issues at the beginning before signing a contract with admin portion. It took 4 weeks to get a drawing!! All we wanted was a rectangle patio nothing complicated at all. No extras. We waited 4 weeks and the drawing was no where near what we had asked for. After waiting this long for something that was irrelevant to what we wanted. This made me angry. Then 2 weeks later we got another drawing that was better, but still needed to be tweaked. Overall, their in house team got it together and provided us a proper drawing, but took way to long! After having to ask to come in and look at pavers we got scheduled. We signed our contract and made a down payment. However, my down payment wasnt processed for 1.5 months after signing the contract. The office had made a copy of my credit card. I would also suggest double checking ALL measurements! The length of our patio was off by 1.8 feet! With the size of our patio area this is a big difference in square feet. We were not upset by the difference. Overall the work crew was amazing but office crew not so much.

I recently had a patio and fire pit installed by Groundscapes. Everything about the company was very professional and the work was carefully done. They also did some landscaping and created a beautiful space around the patio. I appreciated the work crew arriving early and working hard throughout the day. I will enjoy my patio all summer and for years to come!!
We purchased a house in Dundee that had a large patio and fireplace installed by Groundscapes last year. Groundscapes did an amazing job and was a major influencer in our decision to purchase the house. We feel like we live in a park and the craftsmanship is remarkable. We eat the majority of our meals outdoors and spending more time as a family outside together. Derek and Nate have done a great job in educating us how to maintain the space, utilize the fireplace/fountain and answered countless questions. Derek worked with their designer to come up with a landscaping strategy that is beautiful and reduces the dependency on annuals. The side entrance has been transformed and Derek has checked on the space numerous times. I have never felt pressured to take a first design and very much appreciate his low pressure approach. This was a very large project and without hesitation I can recommend Groundscapes. Derek has done a wonderful job helping with the transition and we feel blessed to own such a gorgeous outdoor living space. Thank you to the entire staff!
