I cannot say enough good things and five stars are definitely not enough for Andrew and his team at Bentson Landscape!!! In addition to being knowledgeable and very, very well priced, they are some of the nicest humans I have met in a long time. Andrew and his crew were great to work with. After sharing photos with Andrew, of the look we were going for, he easily quoted us as well as gave us ideas on how to best accomplish. We wanted a small deck and California native plants; our overgrown succulents had taken over and we needed an overhaul. His team quickly cleaned up and created a nice pebble deck, using CORE-TEN Steel to hold it all in place. They planted flowering grass, Kurapia, along with other plants and grasses. They properly irrigated and made sure that the yard will be easy to maintain and keep clean for years to come. We are so happy to have found Bentson Landscape, especially after having talked with so many landscapers in the area that just didn’t work out for one reason or another.

Andrew and his team are absolutely wonderful! They are SO incredibly gifted at what they do. My yard was a jungle of neglect and they were able to transform it into a sanctuary of peace and joy. They replaced my lawn with kurapia – which I highly recommend. It grew in more thick, and lush than my grass ever did in 5 weeks. I now have an orchard of fruit trees, a dedicated space for gardening, a pollinator garden, a native garden and dedicated space for all my gardening and lawn care tools ect. Everything is drought tolerant and surviving the summer heat. I also had them do some hardscaping – some brickwork and a small retaining wall. They are both not only well made but stunning to look at. The redid my entire watering system and then made sure I knew how to use it properly. I’m new to drip systems so a few weeks later when I panicked that it wasn’t working, Andrew sent one of his guys over the very next day who double checked every single plant to make sure they were getting watered. These guys are not just talented, they have an eye for beauty & aesthetic and are just genuinely nice guys to have around. We had a great experience with them. Pictured is a before and after of the kurapia - 5 weeks apart. Also, the lovely native garden in my front, which has grown in significantly since this picture was taken. The rock work & dry riverbed is so lovely, I'm excited to see the whole space transform as the plants grow in.
We are so happy we found Bentson Landscape. Our backyard was previously so outdated and unusable. Andrew made an amazing design plan and was super collaborative with us through the whole process. He, Alex and Darren were knowledgably about all things landscape related (tress, plants, lighting, hardscapes, softscapes) and so great to have around. We missed them when they completed the job. We can't wait to have them come back and do our front yard.
We are so happy with our new front yard by Bentson Landscape. Andrew was easy to work with and his crew of Alex and Darren are amazing. They worked hard, cleaning up so much dirt, roots, etc. and incorporating new life to our yard! They took into account our likes and requests, including incorporating sod. They installed a high efficiency sprinkler system to help with decreasing water usage in conjunction with leveling the yard to eliminate runoff water. We were surprised by how quickly they completed the project! We've had quite a few neighbors make a point on commenting how much they like it, too! We highly recommend Bentson Landscape!
Andrew designed a French drain because the water pools next my house. I love native and Mediterranean plants so Andrew designed a garden to include those plants. I bought some of my favorite native plants at CalBG and he added them to the design. My backyard was just dirt after I had Hartman-Baldwin Design-Build Inc. update and add on to my 1956 house which had been a rental for 16 years. I’m sure you will be pleased if you use Bentson Design-Build Inc.
Andrew designed a lovely drought tolerant landscape for my Claremont home. My front yard was very sloped making it nearly impossible to keep the lawn green. Water just rolled off. Andrew’s design took into account my ideas and color choices. He made great suggestions and willingly made plan amendments. His team was professional and knowledgeable. The result is a beautiful front yard full of potential. I highly recommend this team!

Andrew is also an accomplished artist, and I have one of his large landscape paintings over my sofa. Because I already know of his talent using paint, whenever I see a yard project he has done, I take special note as to how it is different than other landscape projects I see done today. So often, I see the large companies making odd pathways, odd dry river beds and odd placement of boulders as if it were a formula. With Andrews projects, I note how he has thought those things through with his artistic mind. Drought tolerant landscapes can actually look natural, and in harmony with the architecture of the house. Next year, I am adding an ADU in back of my home, and I already know Andrew will be hired to do the landscaping.
We like Andrew s creative ideas and willingness to incorporate his design ideas with our existing bushes and trees. He is very good at blending off old and new vegetation. I also really like his crew, fun to work with.
We gave Bentson a very difficult landscape to design as it is under two Elm trees and shaded for a good part of the summer. The ground was a spiderweb of roots and finding plant locations was difficult. The solution was to mound portions of the yard that were exposed to the sun and utilise plants that would create a more woodland design with grasses, for example, rather than a desert landscape. We will see what happens in the second year as the plants grow, but Andrew and his lead supervisor Alex Are hard workers and very attentive to our request. The installation cut our water bill in half. Bentson landscape is a company that can be trusted to do a good job.
Andrew rebuilt my front yard about a year ago. We wanted to remove our turf and replace it with low water landscaping. Andrew guided us through the process including the paperwork to get the incentive payment. The resulting front yard is beautiful and demands much less water. There were a couple of plants that did not make it but Andrew was there to replace them. I am very pleased with the results of this project after one full year.
The team at Bentson is fantastic. Great guys. They were prompt and neat. Our yard looks beautiful - front and back. And their pricing is competitive. Can t wait for our rose garden to bloom in spring!
