Sav A Tree was hired by our school district to clear our fence line of trees because the district s trees were growing over into our property. They had to access our back yard to remove some branches and cut down a massive tree. They did a fantastic job. The crew got all of this work done in only 8 hours vmand did a great job on cleanup. They were very polite and nice to work with. They even rushed to move one of their trucks so our daughter could drive to work. We ll hire Sav A Tree for our next tree removal project.

I am an avid gardener and cannot do it without this company! I have piece of mind that when new insects are invading our area (Boxwood Tree Moth -most recent) because this company stays on top of all research and treatments. The entire team is helpful, kind, and accommodating. Did I mention that their LIQUID grass fertilizer cant be beat? We have 3/4 acre and refuse to water most of it because of current water bill prices. Our grass stays green & healthy and keeps up with our neighbors who water continuously.

Recently had a deep root fertilization treatment done on a large Silver Maple in my backyard. From the online scheduling program to the actual service process, there isnt another plant care company I would use. It is easy, low pressure and its obvious even to the untrained eye that they use quality product. My tree is bordered by 4 other large neighboring Maples and this spring after the treatment, the canopy on my tree was noticeably fuller with larger leaves than the others. Like most people I dont have a lot free time between work and family, so I will be letting them take over some of my lawn care treatment duties as well. Cutting the grass is still relaxing and enjoyable but Im going to leave the fertilization and aeration to these professionals moving forward.

Jenna is always pleasant and thorough and answers any questions that I have after she has applied our boxwood treatments. Heidi clearly explained the problems and issues she found with our trees and shrubs. She also included documents to help us better understand the issues.

I am disappointed in the experience I have had with SavATree. In my experience, it took a few weeks for someone to come out to quote the job. Okay, no problem. We received a quote within a day or two. Communication after this was spotty. I let Terry know we would like to move forward. Had to follow up for him to tell me to call Lisa. I called Lisa and put down over a $500 deposit on the job and was informed Terry would call me to schedule the job. Did not hear from Terry. I emailed Terry a few times before receiving a response that I would be hearing from him in September (put the deposit down in August) to schedule. I asked for a deposit refund as waiting until September to schedule was outside the window that our job needed. I was informed today that the office refunded the deposit but now have to wait 1-2 weeks for their CFO to approve it because he is out of town. I see all the great reviews so I am sad my experience lacked the communication and expectations set by the provider and the red tape to get back $500+.

If you want to talk to people who care about having a well thought out, scientific, but also natural plan that is right by the environment. Give them a call. I had a consultation with Heidi and she was great!

During that period of time I have always been very satisfied with the appearance of my lawn as well as the health of my trees & shrubs. I have dealt with various individuals at the company (Martha, Greg S., Heidi D., Lisa, April, Ashley just to name a few) from specialists, to office staff to management and they all have been outstanding. Many of my neighbors, friends and family have inquired Who Takes Care of My Lawn & Trees. THANK YOU SAV A TREE for the great job your doing, its one less thing that I have to worry about.

Terry was misleading and just wanted the home run job. Staff who preformed the work was great! Besides them, this company is all for profit and only showed to care about the $. No one would break down a quote because they wanted the entire job or none. Had to call and email 5 times to get on the books after paying a deposit. Office then scheduled one day & twice made emergency excuses even sending pictures of fallen down tree so they could push back our scheduled job. (There was no storms or bad weather) We understand a business is about money, but find someone else for the quotes, Terry isnt the guy. BE CAREFUL, CHARGE TOP DOLLAR for mid work.

Honestly fantastic experience. We had a tree fall on our deck and wanted some other large shrubs trimmed. The main office line communicated clearly and scheduled the consultation. Al and Joe came out, offered very knowledgeable suggestions, and were not pushy at all. The work itself was also outstanding. They didnt trim too much back and the cleanup was excellent. I live in a downtown Birmingham, MI condominium association of five townhouses. SavATree is our provider for our lawn, shrub, and tree services, i.e. disease prevention control, fertilization, trimming, pruning, etc. Yesterday, under Ron Klein s direction, and Jordan s crew leadership, SAT completed two full days of Spring trimming and pruning all our many boxwood hedges, Kousa dogwoods, pear trees, Japanese maples, euonymus, etc. The result is excellent, as always! Their attention to detail, and their expertise in accomplishing the work is first-rate. SAT keeps a clean and orderly work area, and when complete, it appears like they ve never been there. Their tools and equipment are impressive and run the gamut from hand trimmers to man-lifts. Our association and owners are very pleased with SavATree.

We had to take down a 28 Maple that was right next to our house. We have used Mike s Tree Surgeons in the past. When I heard they merged with SavATree, I was a little apprehensive. Once I meet Meghan Gordon, the arborist from SavATree and realized she was part of Mike s Tree Surgeons, I was at ease. She gave us a very professional quote and treated us like family. We ve used this company for tree trimming and pest control in the past, and when an ice storm found us with our neighbor s tree on our roof, they were incredible. Meghan came out immediately and scheduled the crane and bucket truck to come lift the tree off between houses. Absolutely incredible work. This crew knew what to do and how to do it. Can t recommend them enough. They may cost a bit more, but it s worth it.

I had a very large white pine (70+ feet) directly outside my house. The tree needed to be removed due to damage from a neighbor and the recient heavy snow and ice storms. The crew was very professional and removed the tree very safely. They took extra precautions not to damage my lawn or other shrubs in my yard. They cleaned up the yard when they were finished. I am absolutely in LOVE with Megan from Save-A-Tree! Long story short, my Alberta peach tree caught peach curl disease. The tree was dying and I used everything to try and save it. I met with Megan over a year ago and she recommended a treatment plan. The tree rebounded after the first application and grew exponentially! I had peaches the size of large oranges and they were sweeter than they have ever been! I had so many peaches I had to give them away to all of my neighbors. Needless to say Save-A-Trees service is wonderful. Most importantly, Megans customer service skills are perfection! She gave me her cell number and always responds to my texts or calls. She has the best follow-up. She remembers when the leaves are about to fall and sprout and gives me a call or text! AND she swings by just to make sure the treatment went well and that I am not having any issues. She has such a sweet and kind disposition she feels like she is family. If you are lucky to have her as your tree specialist you are in for white glove service!

I rescued a 5 trunk size Cornus Florida dogwood last year that needed to be removed from a demolition site. It held its own over last summer/fall but this year, just wasn t looking as robust as it bloomed and leafed out. I reached out to Savatree for opinion. It took Heidi all of 10min to assess, get on her knees and DIG. We have a girdling root! The plan to deal with it has been discussed. I was given direction. Will execute now. I am so grateful to have a resource like Heidi and Savatree always available. This is why you are my go-to for anything tree related in my yard!

Most recently, Megan came immediately after a large tree fell in my yard due to a storm to assess the damage, provided advice on associated issues from the tree falling, and then worked to fit me in as soon as possible. Mark Brooks has been my arborist from SavATree for the past few years. He meets with me annually to assess all the trees on our property. Mark answers all my questions in detail and recommends the proper care for my oak trees, elms trees and firs. He is very informative and a very friendly person!

I had 15 trees at our company that needed to be trimmed up from the ground. Branches were hanging low and it was hard for the lawn guys to do their job. I called the Troy office and spoke with Ron. He gave me a quote and we decided to go ahead. Jordan and Jack did the work. They were both friendly, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. I have experienced budget tree trimmers. Jordan and Jack are on a whole different level of professionalism. They knew what to do and why they were doing it. Made the trees look great and cleaned up every branch and twig that fell. I would highly recommend the company.

Heidi was very pleasant and professional and took her time analyzing the issue with our red maple. She answered all my questions and we also talked about the possible issues with our blue spruce.

We have a 40+ year old silver maple that was overgrown having major limbs close to our power line and inches away from our roof peak. Heidi came out to examine it and make recommendations which we agreed to. The trimming crew was friendly, professional and all about the details in all that they did. They moved the patio furniture, potted plants and solar lights out of harms way before starting their work. They followed Heidis instructions and the tree has a now has a nice shape to it. Except for a little bit of sawdust, there is hardly any sign of all the cutting that was done. I complemented the crew after the job was done on how great the tree looked. The results are everything wed hope them to be. We would use SavATree again.

Heidi, SAT arborist, advised us last year NOT spend any more money trying to save our 40 year old Crimson King Maple tree. She told us it would come out in full leaf in the spring and would be dead by June. Our tree did exactly as Heidi predicted. We have found her suggestions to be honest and in the best interest of the trees and shrubs she overlooks. We trust her recommendations 100 per cent.

I bought a home on an old property and it needed some major cleanup. From the beginning assessment, the whole crew was very knowledgeable and professional. Ive received excellent advice from Meghan, my arborist, and the crews did a great job of taking down 3 large trees, multiple bushes and grinding multiple stumps without any damage. Im certain their guidance will make my yard flourish once again.

We have had a couple of services performed by Sav-a-tree. Need to give a shout out to Meghan who is always super responsive to our questions, and insures the crew does quality work.

I had three companies quote my tree maintenance including pest and disease control. This is the only company that would send out an arborist fist to review my property. The others were $125 to have an arborist do the quote. Further, the price included service calls that I may need if I have with a concern. They take care of not only the trees but my roses and shrubs as well. Their cost was about $90 more per year but, there is no extras and it is an annual program. Heidi is the arborist in my area and is very knowledgeable and personable. She pointed out things that the other two did not - which is why an arborist is better to diagnose than a technician.

Heidi Densmore has helped me for years, both at our old house and our new one. She has consistently told me when my lawn needs spray for bugs or not, aeration or not. And she has recommended which trees need pruning and which trees should not. And this year she diagnosed the problem with a shrub that was not healthy - too much water, a condition Ive never known of before. Apparently my unhealthy yew is being watered by two different sprinkling zones. And she advised me of a few shrubs that should be able to survive excess water.

On July 26, 2023, a powerful windstorm toppled about a third of our 100-foot-tall, 100-year-old elm. Luckily, no one was injured and no structures were damaged, but the parts of the tree still standing were unstable, looming over our house and garage and threatening to crush them. We called SavATree, and our arborist, Terry Jenkinson, immediately arranged for a crew and a giant crane to safely take down the rest of the tree and remove the debris. It took three and a half days. We miss our beautiful elm, but were thankful that Mr. Jenkinson and his SavATree crew handled the job so quickly and safely.

SavAtree truly does save trees. I have a huge, beautiful maple tree in my backyard (Pleasant Ridge) with a large crack in the trunk seemingly splitting the tree in two. We have several trees and needed quite a bit of work done. Heidi came out and walked around our yard with us. She was very knowledgable, professional and friendly. She gave us a detailed quote and once we made our deposit we didnt have to wait long for service. Our yard is a challenge. We needed a lot of work, it is wet in places and there is a lot of wildlife. It took 4 days to complete the work. Heidi was out every day directing the crew and marking the trees that needed to be removed and discussing the trees that needed trimming. The work that could be done was done quickly, professionally and everything was cleaned up and removed. The crew respected the wildlife and worked around it. I would recommend Heidi and SavATree to anyone that needs tree and shrub work. It is not the cheapest option but you definitely get what you pay for.

Had Rael Graham come out to my residence for tree trimming/removal and maintenance on arbroviates. First and foremost, he was an hour early which is ok, however I had an appointment at the time that he came. Second, he was most worried about how the tree trimming would impact my neighbor then how it would impact me. I explained to Rael that I wanted the tree trimmed down on my side because it is very fragile and my kids play outside all the time. Most recently a big branch fell on the neighbors yard and damaged his play set. I am worried about my kids safety. He refused to do the work and completely wasted my time. You shouldn t advertise tree trimming/removal if you refuse to do the work. Complete waste of time. Super unprofessional.

Jon came out to quote some tree work. I had used him previously at a different home when he owned Big Twigs (which was purchased by SaveATree). I had a bunch of tree work to do at my new home. He recommended a full day package and I went with that idea. I had a 4 man crew of climbers/cutters/cleanup. I recognized some of the guys from Big Twigs. What a fantastic crew. They worked together very well. They brought big equipment. The $100+K 75 foot lift, ditch witch with grappers, chipper and dump trucks. I couldnt believe how quickly that chipper would eat up a 18 inch tree trunk in seconds!! At the very start of the project, Jon met the team with me and we reviewed the project. One of the guys said it was going to be a good day that he expected we could get what I wanted accomplished. They all wore helmets and climbers had fall protection. The day went well and it was a hot 80 degree day. I asked for a little extra chipping of a dead elm that we were originally going to leave as deadfall, and they jumped on it. We talked about more work to do this winter. You have a great team there. I hope you pay them well and they stick around making the dough for the company.

So very, very pleased! Have used Mikes Tree Surgeons and now SavATree to care for all of our trees and shrubs for many years. This fall I asked our arborist, Terry Jenkinson, to give us an estimate on tree trimming, pruning, lower limb leveling, and the addition of a few more cables on our 30 year old Norway maple. On October 18, 2022, foreman, Olda, and worker, David, arrived on time to do the work. It was a very cold and damp day with intermittent drizzle and light rain off and on. But nothing deterred them. They were here all morning and a good part of the afternoon. When the job was complete we were absolutely over the moon. Not a dead branch remained and the tree looked fabulous! We feel extremely confident that this 50-60 foot tall mammoth will withstand the coming winter winds and storms. And our yard was left in immaculate shape when they were through. Olda and David did an outstanding job. They are true professionals and extremely talented. They really know trees and how to return them to full vitality. If trees could talk Im sure our Norway maple would be bragging about her new trim and cut and how beautiful she looks. And we couldnt agree more! Thank you, Olda and David. We have a small forested area in front of our house, and unfortunately a large oak fell a few years ago. There were also dead ash trees that had to be cut down, so the entire floor of the little forest was full of large circles of the oak trunk, whole small tree trunks, branches, and other debris. We contracted SavATree to do the removal and clean-up, and could not be happier. Steves crew from the Orion Charter Township location in Michigan did an amazing job clearing up the mess, and they covered the muddy tracks left by the work they did so well its not even visible now. So they did a tree removal. Mark the sales guy /tree consultant was friendly and competetive. Justin, Terry and Gary came out to remove a locust tree and pine in my backyard. They worked diligently with precision and when they left I was surprised at how you could not tell that they were even there other than that my trees were missing. If I had any kind of business that required a skilled arborist or skilled trade like these guys, Id have offered them double what they make to steal them away. They were polite and like a machine. They had machines in my yard and then raked and cleaned with diligence so it looked better than when they came.

Our Crabapple tree is looking the best it has in years thanks to Heidi and your team that came out to assess it, come up with a plan to revive it and apply the needed insecticide and fertilizer. I can attest to the professionalism and care the crew took when cutting down my mulberry trees and treating and grinding the stumps. I have a very difficult yard with a lot of obstructions and they did a great job in being careful around my plants and greenhouse (with glass windows!). If you have a difficult yard Id highly recommend SavATree over anyone else. The crew really is a notch above. If professionalism and quality are important to you, these are your guys. We did have an issue with communication regarding scheduling my tree cutting appointment in the beginning, but SavATree really went above and beyond in making that right and hearing my concerns. This was resolved when they came back to grind the stump and everyone involved did what they could to make sure I was satisfied with the job they did. Terry, the arborist, also gave me really great ideas on what trees to add to my yard to replace the mulberries. He understood my aesthetic and I fell in love with the tree he recommended (a Forest Pansy Redbud). If he is your arborist definitely tap into his knowledge of trees and landscape design.

I have been involved with this company for many years and love their level of service and expertise. We unfortunately had to have our 2 huge beautiful willow trees cut down as they were rotting due to old age. This summers crazy storms hit them hard causing 30 ft. branches to break off on more than one occasion. Rael came out to assess the trees within a day of us calling. Larrys crew did an amazing job cutting the trees down and getting rid of the trunk, etc. They made sure both our sprinkler system and our neighbors were protected from the equipment they used. We had originally called SavATree to diagnose an ill tree that we wanted to save. Arborist, Heidi Densmore had not only diagnosed the issue but also gave us advice on how to further its life. Years ago we had considered removing several trees in the back of our lot so that we could plant a raised garden however the cost was way out of our budget. While Heidi was here we decided to ask her for a quote, thinking it again would be entirely too expensive. . .we were shocked at the price. It was less by more than half of our original quote from another well known company! Needless to say we jumped at it. The crew did an incredible job removing them with such professionalism and precision. They also did an amazing job clearing away everything, you would have never known they had removed over 7 trees!! Ron was the arborist and came the same day I called for a quote on the work I needed done. The work was quite extensive and Ron emailed the contract very quickly that same day. On the day of service there were 3 crew members doing the work. Ron did stop by to see how the work was going and reviewed the details of the work with the crew and made sure I had no questions. The crew worked hard the entire time (7hours) and were definitely a well oiled machine. They each showed concern for the property and in every aspect of there work. The arborist was friendly and very knowledgeable. She identified a fungal infection on my crabapple and the treatment is already having a positive effect. Ive also had them prune two maples. They did a great job maintaining the shape of the trees while lightening them up and giving the neighboring plants room to grow. Overall Id highly recommend them.

Rael came out to give us an estimate for tree trimming. He was extremely knowledgeable! Shared much valuable nfo re: lawn care, info about tree trimming-- even info re: nutrients needed by the tree after trimming services. It was like an educational seminar! They couldnt get us on their schedule anytime soon and were higher than some of the estimates wed received-- so we did not end up using them. But I could tell by his knowledge that they would do quality work!

ired them to treat 3 elm trees for Dutch elm disease. Treatment was time sensitive. They told me they would be out in a few days. Over a week later I contacted them to find out when they would handle the treatment. They were too busy and told me they couldn t do it in a reasonable time period. They wasted nearly two weeks of my time making it that much more likely the trees will die. I had to find another company that actually cares about customers. Edit: Your response lacks context. The trees I was seeking treatment for were not infected when you visited two months ago. I did exactly what your arborist recommended which was to remove the infected tree, grind the stump, and trench around it to break the roots. The trees I called you about for service two weeks ago had just begun to show signs of infection when I called. I did find an arborist to come assess the trees and while one is too small to treat the others are caught early enough that he has a high confidence that they can be saved with treatment. Not only did I find a more responsive company who will treat the tree within 48 hours, I was offered a more comprehensive program at lower cost and with a guaranty that if they can t save the trees, they will apply the cost toward removal. I d strongly advise seeking quotes from companies other than Sav a Tree.

We had booked an appointment with SavATree because we had heard good things about them. We waited more than 3 weeks for the appointment. The appointment was booked at 4PM on a weekday. Someone from SavATree called the day of the appointment at 3:50PM and said they were too busy and needed to cancel the appointment for us. We took time off of work to be available for SavATree, yet they called 10 minutes before the appointment, cancelled the appointment, and didnt really seem to care that we as customers have a schedule too and were not respectful of our time. Not professional.

We have a massive 80 year old Oak tree, a tiny back yard, and a very narrow driveway with power and cable wires to avoid. The crew was safe, careful, hard working and respectful. The work they did far exceeded my expectations. One worker climbed all the way to the top to cut out bleeders while another in the lift removed twenty years of dead wood. It was worth every penny. I cannot say enough good things about SavATree. SavATree (formerly Mikes Tree Surgeons, Inc.) provides outstanding conifer and deciduous tree care and service at reasonable prices. Dan Cummings has treated my Blue Spruces and Crab tree for quite a number of years with excellent results. He always answers any questions I have and is genuinely concerned with the health of my trees. Recently, due to 60 MPH wind gusts, the top 10-foot section of one of my Spruces broke. My wife called SavATree to have someone come to our house to access the situation. Mark Brooks, ISA Certified Arborist, came out, reviewed the damage and made recommendations. He also walked around my house and made pruning recommendations for a Northern Red Oak, Tulip tree, and Crab tree. Mark was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about tree types. Upon receipt of his cost estimate via E-mail that same day, I agreed to have the work done. Mark, Olda, and two other SavATree employees came out a few days later. Mark, Olda, and I walked to each tree to review what was going to be done. All SavATree employees are pleasant, professional, and work very efficiently as a team. I was quite impressed with how well Olda maneuvered his Platform man lift into tight quarters around my deck where pruning was to be done. As a retired GM Manufacturing Engineer, I was thrilled to over hear Oldas comments about safe operation of the man lift for the well being of his fellow workers. After the pruning was done, the crew meticulously cleaned up all branches and limbs on the ground. Lastly, Olda re-reviewed with me each item that was done to make sure I was satisfied with the work before they left. Super job, super company!

We have been using Al Sexton and his team at Mikes Tree Surgeons for all of our tree removal and trimming for 7years and HIGHLY recommend them. We live in a heavily wooded area and have needed a lot of tree work. Al & his team are extremely knowledgeable about the health of the trees and have always done an excellent job removing trees and making sure not to damage other trees in the process. They are very careful not destroy our lawn and landscaping as well. We have also used the deer repellent in the summer and it has saved our landscaping from being eaten by the deer. Not only did she diagnose the problem but also physically demonstrated what needed to be done to correct the problem, and then took photos for me to present to my landscaper if necessary. Heidi Densmore is seriously THE BEST Arborist! A wealth of knowledge and so willing to go above and beyond educating us homeowners on the proper care for our specific landscaping. Ive walked our property a few times with her asking endless questions and taking notes, sent emails with pictures of concerns and what can I do, etc. Never did I ever feel like I was going to be sold a service in exchange for information. Shes simply a thoughtful, caring, person who is passionate about her work. We have been using Mikes Tree Surgeons before they merged with SavATree and I honestly think the merge made them even better! A few years ago we had our bradford pear trees lifted and thinned out, a few throneless hawthrones removed, and our other trees like a river birch and silver maple on our property shaped. And have had them back in the Fall for additional minor trimmings each year thereafter. Our trees remain healthy through those typical Michigan winters and once a season ice storm. Not only did this help us spread out the cost over time, but their advice was to spread it out to not shock the trees. They seriously know what they are doing and strive to do whats best for the health of the tree NOT their bottom line. And bonus! You will be left with beautiful trees that LOOK like trees when they are done. Instead of q-tips, lopsided Truffulas from The Lorax, or a pile of sticks you often see after the mega landscapers plow their the neighborhood each spring and fall. For 3 years the tops of the Austrian Pines in my back yard kept dying back, until the top 1/3 was brown and thin. No one had the answer until this year when I consulted Mark from SavATree. He said he thought it was a girdling root problem, so I took his suggestion and had the tree roots air spaded. Mark did a great job on the spading, addressing my concerns regarding mulch around the trees, etc. Within months the change has been amazing. The tops are completely green again, and while not yet as full as the bottom portion, they are improved to the point that its not really noticeable to the casual observer. I highly recommend SavATree and air spading where recommended.

My husband and I were very worried about a 20 year old fir tree. It was dropping green cones and a few needles. I booked an appointment with Mikes. The night before the appointment I called to cancel and left a voicemail. I guess it was a little late when I left it because Mark from SaveATree showed up. I apologized for the late cancellation and he apologized for disturbing me and not getting my message. I told him that I was really worried about my tree and he looked at it and told me what to look for in a sick tree. He gave my tree a clean bill of health and asked if I wanted him to look at anything else while he was here. It s a family business that recently merged with a larger group but I didn t notice any changes in their services, which are good. I appreciate that they don t try to push services on me that I don t need, and the trees I put under their care look good. I ve had the same person (Heidi) providing estimates since the first time I called them, and the work has always been good. They are not the cheapest and I m fine with paying decent money for decent work.

Shaun came out for an estimate and was very knowledgeable about removal and trimming. Their three man crew was out Thur and in 2 1/2hr had their work complete and all cleaned up. I told them that it was nice to see men that really know their work. ( one of them said that they had watched a YouTube video the night B4 to figure out what to do . They are fast learners ) Another crew will be back to remove the stumps. I am sure that they will do equally as good a job.

Called to have someone look at my tree after damage from storm. The receptionist was very rude and said they were not taking new customers now because of the recent storm. When I asked when they might have openings she rudely stated I dont know. Sounds like they are not very good at dealing with customers or the stress after a storm.
