Wish I had hired they first for sprinkler issues. Competition was very good at scheduling and billing - not so good at actual work. Competition fixed the same leak 3 times. TL repaired the leak by tearing out the whole service box and improving it and then fixed sprinkler heads and repaired exposed wires near the controller - all for less than the leak repair I paid for 3 times from the Competition.

Wanting a quote for total porch and sidewalk replacement, I called Topeka Landscape asking if they serviced extreme northern Jefferson County and if they could do just concrete flatwork. Brady told me that yes, they service my area and that they have a contractor who installs residential sidewalks. He asked me to email him the dimensions of the work that needed to be done, along with photos of the current porch/sidewalk, which I did. That was March 6, 2024. It s now April 7, 2024 and nothing been radio silence in between. If you re looking for the courtesy of a reply to a detailed email request for a quote on a relatively large flatwork project, beware.

We asked Topeka landscaping to pick up the leaves in our yard and clean up branches. Our bill for a normal sized lot was $996. They claimed to have trimmed bushes and spent 6.5 hours with two people. Our camera shows them arrive at 8 and leave at noon (four hours at best). They did not trim bushes. They only blew and picked up leaves and used a hedge trimmer on some ground cover. I watched them sit on the porch and look at their phones several times for 15 or 30 minutes at a time. Nearly $1,000? For leaves? Then when we called they said they had changed prices and that they trimmed our bushes (they did not) and generally defended their price. Be warned.

Overall i was mostly pleased with the work i saw.

Worst safety violators Ive seen in awhile, junky equipment and constant down time. Try Midwest Landscape in Auburn for clean professional jobs.

The estimator who came out had a wealth of knowledge and good pricing. He responded quickly with questions and was very professional.

I m really happy that I contacted Topeka Landscaping Mike Kruger knew exactly what I needed to have to fit my non green thumb abilities and when his crew showed up they were all friendly and helpful and got the job done I would highly recommend them to anyone there is no job to small or too big price was very reasonable as well. Now if I can just keep the dogs from peeing on them

Not really sure yet. Someone came by to look at my request, but I havent heard anything back yet....... Still waiting. Once I hear something I will update my review.

Topeka Landscape fixed the drainage around my house, put in downspout drain away from house and reseeded where dirt work done. They were right on schedule, got the work done in one day. Did a great job!!

In every job they have gone the extra mile. Meticulous clean up , thoughtful and considerate . They have been doing various projects for us for at least 8 years , always with the same care and expertise. Thank you !

I meant to share this earlier... recently had my water sprinkler system repaired. Another company attempted, but could never get my side and back zones to spray with adequate pressure. They patiently traced source of problem to a tree root pinching off the flow. I was very happy to finally have my system back and working after years of not. I should of called Topeka Landscape a long time ago. Its now a very hot July and for the first time in many years, I have the greenest grass in the neighborhood. Thank you Topeka Landscape!!

Took a month to get someone to come and look at our drainage issue. Its been three weeks since someone was out and still havent received an estimate or a phone call. I guess our job wasnt big enough for them.

Quality products, service could improve

I contracted with Topeka Landscape for lawn fertilizer and weed control in 2021. First, my lawn (buffalo grass) looked terrible at the start of 2021 and still looks terrible now (2022). The lawn had a LOT of crabgrass but they did not seem too concerned. They charged $135 per treatment and the application takes about 5-10 minutes. The last two treatments in October and November, my lawn was completely dormant. They applied fertilizer to essentially bare dirt. I contacted them to request cancelling the charges, but they refused. Needles to say, Im looking for a new lawn service for 2022.

No-show for a simple estimate, suggesting that they are not interested in additional business. Next...

Update, Andy called me back at 1:00 and took my info, Sounds like we may get service this week. I appreciated his response. I am not blaming the operator, she spoke to someone else and they were too busy. Initially I called on a Monday morning 10AM and asked to talk somebody about getting some landscape stone? The operator told me it would be a couple of days before someone could call me back.

Project to build a couple of retaining walls, install river rock, bury drain spouts and plant grass in the fall of 2019. I was skeptical of the dormant planting of the grass seed in February, but over 95% of it came up. We were very pleased with the skills of the crew and the outcome of the project. We will definitely consider using Topeka Landscape for future landscaping needs.

Presented a great layout based upon what we shared we needed - low maintenance and it turned out beautiful. They arrived when expected and finished the job within a few days. I would recommend this business!

We have had two extensive home landscape projects done by Topeka Landscape. Ben Shafer is a great person for design and he is a great guy period. We have been very happy with the workmanship of the landscape crew as well. Loving our new look!

This spring I had Ben design a rock bed, sod and plant a new tree. They did a very nice job and Im happy with project.

The work is done with little fanfare. Get in, get out and any concerns are quickly dealt with. We have done business with Topeka Landscape for over 20 years, and are happy with their service.

I called Topeka Landscape last year to come out and level out my yard to fix a issue with water pooling. The came out and just tilled the yard and planted grass seed. Never really fixed the water pooling issue. Three weeks later, the water pooling in my backyard was even worse. They came out a couple weeks after that and fixed it. The area they worked on now just grows weeds and the pooling issue was never fixed. After calling time and time again, they finally came out during the Summer 2020 and measured it and recognized there was a problem. They fixed the pooling area issue and replanted the grass. Now if a true landscaping knew what they were doing, they would know grass does not germinate in the middle of summer heat. So the grass in the area they work never grew. Now I have two giant weed patches that I paid for grass to planted at the appropriate time of year. I have called them again for them to fix it but I have never gotten a call back. I do not recommend Topeka Landscape because they would never tell you when they were coming and never fully took care of me as like promised on the contract. It was more of a nuisance for them come out and fix my problem. They just did everything halfway and called it good.

We recently worked with Ben at Topeka Landscape to complete a series of projects in our garden. From the beginning Ben was great to work with and his crews were professional, conscientious, and worked quickly to get the jobs done. I will use them again.

Topeka Landscape took a complex project in a tight area of our front yard that included replacing sidewalks around the house, sod, irrigation, and planting beds. They managed it efficiently and got the work done quickly. 10x improvement on curb appeal now! We are very happy with the outcome!

I called to request a quote for their services and was told I would hear from a representative within the next two days to set up an appointment. Its been over a week and I never received a call.

Amazing Service!!! Called and someone showed up 15 minutes later to fix our leaking sprinkler system. They were thorough and efficient, explained the sprinkler system functions. Ill call them anytime.

My boss hired Topeka Landscape to do work in his yard and they did a wonderful job. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the crew that did the work was very professional and cleaned up after themselves. We will continue to do business with them.
