I had gotten several estimates for landscaping, none of them was as detailed as Jeffs was. He included everything in the estimate and contract. What was more impressive than this was the work ethic. The workers showed up and worked daily until the project was completed. None of this showing up for a half day here and there and taking months to complete like other contractors do. I was so impressed that they stayed with the job till it was complete. They did amazing work too. I highly recommend Jeffs company.

Jeff and his crew recently completed a full rear yard landscape and hardscape project for us and we could not be happier with the results and our choice of contractor. Five Star Company for sure. We hired Jeff Ruff and his crew to remove our old, weed and crabgrass infested sod and replace it with new. We also had an area that would muddy up routinely because of poor drainage. They came out on schedule and removed the old, rototilled and added some new soil, leveled and installed 2 new drains on Monday. On Wednesday, right on schedule they were back, laid the new sod, checked the drains and sprinklers. It looks and drains great!! Jeff is full service, prices very fair for quality work. Great job, very pleased with him and his crew.

The work these guys did was absolutely phenomenal and very quick. They cleared about 500 sqft of dead grass and leaves, dug for drainage, made a concrete patio extension, and installed turf in less than a week. Couldnt be happier with the end result! My only issue was with setting up the service. I had to call a few times to set up the appointment for the quote, and some of my info wasnt saved correctly so there was a slight lack of communication in the beginning. But it got cleared up quickly and the process was seamless afterward. Overall, Im glad I went with this company.

Be careful with this business. I requested a quote from them to add a walkway from my front door to the sidewalk and extend my driveway on both sides. Elmer came out and we discussed pricing and the plans. He said it would cost $2,500 to extend the driveway and add the walkway with additional options of adding steps to the walkway and adding rebar to the driveway. The steps would be $600 and the rebar would be $500 for a total of $3,600. I asked if he would knock off $100 and make it $3,500 even. He said yes and we shook hands and went on our way. He came back and knocked on my door and said the pathway on the side of my garage was crooked and can pose a tripping hazard. He was right so I asked how much it would cost to fix that as well. He said $1,000. I said ok, lets fix the pathway but remove the rebar and the steps to make it the same $3,500. We again agreed and he said he would email the estimate. I received the estimate and it was $4,735. I contacted them and told them we had agreed on $3,500. They replied and said there must have been some confusion. No, there was no confusion. It was as clear as day. I declined the work because Im not going to do business with people like this. Be careful. This business will tell you one thing to your face and then change everything later. Our home had a back hillside which was overgrown with Acacias. It was an ugly mess, and we referred to it as the beast. Ruff and Ready transformed our hillside in just six days. They removed all of the Acacias, modified the existing irrigation system, planted more than a hundred Star Jasmine plants, and applied mulch to the entire hillside. They were very careful not to damage our other landscape or our property. Everything went according to plan and on time. We can t thank Jeff and his crew enough for such an amazing job.

Ruff and Ready did an incredible job on our backyard. They installed the drainage, new sprinkler/irrigation system, lights, gas line, fire pit paver area, fire pit install and sod install. They finished in a little over 2 weeks. Jeff was great to work with and provided new ideas that really helped make our backyard pop. They re a little more expensive than their competitors but it s worth it knowing the job was done right. Highly recommend!

Wow. What a fantastic experience and finished product. We have had a lot of contractors work on our home and sadly, all have been pretty subpar. When we first contacted Ruff and Ready to set an appointment to get our concrete patio removed and replaced, plus an additional concrete patio added, Jeff showed up on-time and well prepared. He was personable and attentive and covered every detail of the project. Answered all my questions and returned an estimate the next day. Doing our due diligence, we got 2 other quotes. Ruff and Ready was slightly higher, but the overall experience and attention to detail from Jeff was above and beyond that we had no choice but to go with them. Leading up to the project Jeff was very responsive and professional. On the first day of the job his team showed up on time, including Jeff to make sure scope of the project was good to go. They came with a porta potty for the crew (which seems to be rare for other contractors). His team was kind, professional, hard workers who respected our home and our family. Our son loved watching them work with the machines and they were constantly interacting and playing with him through the window. I know thats not something that usually is brought up, but speaks to the character of the people who work there. The job stayed on schedule (With Jeff stopping by almost everyday to see if his guys, or us needed anything or had questions. When we needed to pivot for one small thing, Jeff came up with a quick solution that worked for him and us. Upon completion of the job, it was everything we could have asked for. The concrete looks great, everything that we talked about was completed, plus a few extras that he threw in. They installed an extra irrigation pipe, that makes complete sense and we didnt think about initially. His guys also made some small adjustments to our sprinklers that needed it as well. The crew cleaned up their stuff everyday and reseeded grass that was damaged during installation (which was brought up before the job was started). I wish Ruff and Ready did everything because i would keep them on a retainer lol. If you need ANY landscape/concrete/lawn work done, there is absolutely no other place you should go. I recommend getting a quote from a few places, and you will immediately see the difference between other companies and Ruff & Ready. Its a no brainer and we will definitely be using them for any and all work we do in the future.

Just had our backyard, side of the house, and driveway extension completed by Ruff & Ready Landscape and were very happy with the way it turned out! Had a great experience with Jeff, Tony and the rest of the crew. They were always early and worked long hours even during the sweltering heat (they had a system to deal with the heat). They did our front and backyard and both came out beautiful! we get compliments all the time from our neighbors. they were reasonably and fairly priced (i did get quotes from other contractors to make sure). Very professional at all times and honored their plant warranties and if anything was wrong, they came quick and resolved the issue (there weren t many issues and the issues that occurred were very minor). Jeff listened to my ideas and made them come true. He was actually the only responsive contractor in the beginning when i first moved into my home, i only found the other contractors, for market research, walking through the neighborhoods and seeing them working on my neighbors yard. But anyways, great company, great boss, great foreman, great crew, highly recommended!

We used Ruff & Ready to redo our entire front yard, all the way down to dirt except the driveway. From start to finish Jeff helped us on each step from design to completion. The bid was extremely detailed and through. We had an idea and they brought it to life better than we could have expected. Even with the changes we made on the fly everything went smooth and efficient. Work was done to a very professional level and on time. Were they the most inexpensive? No, but you get what you pay for. Use them and you won t be disappointed. Good work cost money, bad work cost more. I ve dealt with a lot of contractors getting our home the way we want it and Ruff & Ready has been by far the best contractor we have had the pleasure to work with.

The two gentlemen who showed up to repair my sprinkler issues were outstanding. They easily fixed the sprinkler problems and happily answered my questions about additional irrigation situations that I m having that were not the reason that they come out in the first place. Estimate problem. Got a verbal estimate for turf removal from owner of company. Follow up estimate via written text was 50% higher than the initial verbal quote. Owner said he misquoted the verbal quote and the turf removal price was 100% more than verbally quoted. Because of his mistaken initial verbal quote, he offered to do the job at only 50% more due to his mistake, not the 100% delta. I felt uncomfortable with a professional making this gross level of mistake so I did business with another company who did not move the goalposts.

I have not moved forward on any work from them as I am going to wait until after the summer heat. It is very, very extensive the work that will be done and will affect our air conditioning units,, so I cannot gamble with the high heat and in case my a/c goes out...that would be a disaster. They are very old and we are having a backyard makeover. The owner is super and this will be the company I will use when ready.

First day on job, guys came on time and did what they could. Then stopped for an hour or more waiting for Tony. When Tony arrived he argued with me about what I had in writing and verbal for 15-20 minutes. Then was on phone with Jeff for 20 plus minutes. Tony then told me in a round about way I was correct. Work was finished in two days. Crew had to come back 3 times for broken pipes/sprinklers. Month a half later 2/3 of grass is perfect the other is dead or dying. All grass is watered at same time. Not sure what they did not do correctly. Would not use again or recommend. Will be contacting credit card company to get partial refund.

The Ruff & Ready team keeps our yard looking great year-round. They are quick to respond to any maintenance request that may arise and provide very friendly customer service.

Ruff and Ready worked with us with what was originally a small job. they were flexible, as were we, with the time frame. When the job became bigger, due to unforeseen broken drainage pipes, they handled it professionally by mapping out the job for us and also handling what became an insurance claim by writing it up professionally, thereby guaranteeing that the claim got paid. We also made some cosmetic changes, while the project was underway. Antonio, the foreman, was very accommodating, as was Jeff Ruff. We would definitely use this company again and will recommend them to other potential customers.

Ruff & Ready gave us a very fair estimate on re-doing our front yard. They came when promised and completed ahead of time. They completely tore out our existing grass on both sides of our driveway and re-sodded one side, and put down river rock and roses on the other side, as well as a new drip system for the roses and a nice mow strip to keep the rocks separated from our neighbors yard. Its been 9 months and were still very happy. I would recommend Ruff & Ready highly.

I had landscaping done front and back. I had new irrigation front and back. The old system was eroding my slope and mud pouring over my retaining wall into my pool. They put in a french drain behind the retaining wall. Also, artificial grass in one area and plants put in. The Ruff and ready employees are excellent workers. All I can say is WOW! The reviews are right. Jeff and his crew totally transformed our back yard. I needed major fix up in order to list the house for sale. Plant care, trees trimmed, dead plants removed, mulch, stone, and sprinkler replacement. They were on time and worked hard. Jeff is a really wonderful guy who takes great pride in his work. In the early stages of working for 216 Quail Hollow Rd Wildomar Ca, the workers did what I had requested and for a fair price. I reside in NC, had to rely on pictures of work provided by worker, pleased with work! As months bore on, Ruff & Ready Landscaping became very pricy and time restricted and not very cordial! Workers would not do a blade of grass extra! Raked debris piles left all over property rotting! How much extra time would have been required to lift already raked piles onto trailer??! At one point, weeds grew to 6 tall once again, I would not afford their high prices or wait time! Hired Daughters friend to do weed abatement (who moved from Va to Ca) and spray whole area for weed control! She did requested work, leaving no debris and for a Fair price! No Rehire!!!

They were quick to give us a quote and quick to do the work in question. I would use them again anytime.

Jeff and his team did a great job. Everything was perfectly located with in the back yard design, every plant and tree was planted with care. They used really high quality sod that grew in fast and healthy. We couldn t believe how quick they did such hard physical work. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. A great finished result. There were many little details we asked them to tend to, abd they did it all. I give them my highest recommendation. Wish I could post a photo cause it s so beautiful.

Jeff and his grew were absolutely amazing! I got quotes from 5 or 6 local landscape companies and Jeff showed up on time, got a quote back to me in a timely manor, followed through with everything he said and promised, started and completed the project as stated. Antonio, lead project manager, for my job was great, always kept me in the loop what the goals were for the day, if he had a question or needed my approval he asked me instead of just guessing. The crew cleaned up every day, washing off my drive way, side yard, etc. it looked as if my backyard wasn t even being worked on. I had a question about the concrete and sprinklers, Antonio came out that same day after my project was already complete to fix and answer my questions. Overall, I m very happy with Ruff & Ready and plan on using them again for my front yard soon.

I have had my shed for 4 years now, it still looks the same like it did day one. Absolutely no problems, I have an 8 x 8 shed, hinges and door are heavy duty.

Jeff and crew did a great job laying new sod for our back lawn and adding shrubs and mulch to the planter areas around our house. Communication was always timely and clear. Work was performed on time and as described.

Last year I had Ruff N Ready come by for an estimate to install sod in my backyard. While he was there, a solenoid valve for the sprinklers broke and he fixed it on the spot! Highly recommended.

Great customer service! I actually got 3 price quotes from other contractors and Jeff gave me the best deal. He explained the project plan in every detail. Second job was to plant some ice plants on the slope of our back yard and yesterday they planted 22, yes TWENTY TWO very large shrubs along our fence line. I hired Jeff and his guys to maintain my yard, and I have to say at first I was skeptical since I had prior issues with my other landscaper offering a full service, but not doIng anything proactive. Nothing got done but a rushed mow and edge and blow until I mentioned something I wanted done and then they would keep putting it off to the next trip. So I basically got Red Robins endless fries and a crappy waiter COMPLETE OPPOSSIT with the Ruff Lawn Regulators as I call them. Regulate anything growing on my poperty and their damn good too, handy with the Sthil if you know what I mean they earn their keep. Haha Within the first month I was blown away by how much attention was paid to my yard, it was almost too well maintained I was waiting for them to try and bill me more, but nope it was all just part of my full service. I am excited for spring and summer since I know they are on top of it and am excited to see it once everything takes off. Neighbor across the street was nice enough to give me a good view to look at with his yard, and now I get to return the favor lol Thanks again guys see you Tuesday and thanks for giving my dog attention when you are here.
