This company is great! They are courteous, professional and most of all did a great job. I had a sick tree that was dying and they helped me save it!

They wanted $1500. to TRIM 2 trees back. The man was rude about it too. Like he didn t want the business unless it was a large job.

Dave came out for guidance on my tree issues. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the problems and used a great piece of equipment that examined the interior of a very large tree trunk. Very impressive. He gave me instructions on the care and feeding of the trees which Ive followed with great results.

Leo (the arborist) diagnosed the problem with plenty of details and thorough advice. He took his time and even looked at the rest of my property without me even asking---very professional. I have a huge redwood tree in my backyard that needed trimming. The owner of Thrifty Tree Service, Dave, was incredibly helpful in the process. He was very knowledgeable and professional and took the time to explain everything that needed to be done prior. His crew was right on time and finished in exactly the time frame they estimated. And they thoroughly cleared my backyard from all the debris. Overall great service. I will definitely use this company again and couldnt recommend them enough.

A good friend referred us to David at Thrifty Tree Service. He and his team are amazing. The two huge Shamel Ash trees in my dads yard were so overgrown and mismanaged. They were losing branches in the wind and rain, so he made us a priority and came out the very next day. We thought they were goners, but David and his team took them on and they are perfect now!

Davids staff of Thrifty Tree Service does an excellent job of trimming my 5 Palm, 5 Liquid Amber and 1 Jacaranda trees. They are all courteous, professional, and cordial! I don t usually write reviews, but Thrifty Tree Service is definitely deserving. Prices were competitive, they came with a large crew and great equipment, which helped them get the job done with speed and precision.

I was happy because I got an estimate within 30 minutes of calling and then half an hour later, the crew arrived with a crane and the job was done within an hour. The price was pretty reasonable. Thank you to the gentleman from the tree-cutting team who gave me good advice to keep the tree alive.

Oh man, these guys were so great! I emailed about scheduling someone to come out to provide an estimate, got a call within 30 minutes to set up my appointment. They reached out to me with a window, got a call when the guys were on the way, they showed up very timely and provided me with a competitive estimate. I said Great, when can we schedule this? He told me he could have guys over in about an hour to do the job. Holy Cow! About 10 guys showed up with a wood chipper, everyone was super conscientious, everyone wearing a mask (pandemic), very customer service oriented. They talked me through everything, asked questions when needed, efficiently did the job, cleaned up at my house, any debris that fell in the neighbors yard and here I am a few hours later with the job done and everything looking great! It was incredibly efficient and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a professional and efficient service. I will no doubt call on them again with any future tree service needs. Customer service was top notch and I appreciate that when inviting people onto my property.

I thought I was calling a tree service company and the lady on the phone made it sound like they do not trim trees???? I was transferred and asked a few questions so I said to myself it might be the first person was not as experienced in taking info but then when they asked me where the trees are located which is by the driveway, they said oh you need a permit to start with....without seeing or asking how big the trees are? I do not need a permit for that. BE Aware of these posts that say they do professional work...It says alot about a company who answers the phone and the knowledge they know too.

After having interviewed and received multiple quotes for tree trimming, we decided to talk to a certified arborist as we have a diverse variety of mature trees in our yard and an issue of the neighbors tree roots suffocating our Dragon tree and potentially damaging our foundation. Dave visited and we walked the property and he knew every tree and shrub by name and really impressed me with his knowledge and experience (25+ yrs). Even though several quotes were substantially less, the other tree services did not have an arborist on staff and clearly knew far less than Dave. We booked TTS and Dave and a crew of 8 men and 4 or 5 vehicles arrived promptly in uniforms and an array of specialized equipment, all licensed, insured and bonded. 7+ hours later, I could not believe how great their work turned out and Dave came back the next day for a full review and update. These guys are not the cheap option but fair and reasonable and as professional as any company I have encountered that provides services. Without a doubt I highly recommend them and will use their services for all future tree maintenance.

For years, I have tried to schedule a truly knowledgable arborist to come by my property and provide competent direction on keeping my trees healthy. When I had Thrifty bid on trimming and pruning 7 various trees, it was clear Dave Aviram was that expert. I was taken aback by my good fortunate finally having a trustworthy arborist to answer my questions and deliver sound advice. Thrifty wasnt the lowest bid on my tree trimming job, but you get what you pay for -- and I feel I got great value! With a name like Thrifty I thought price might be competitive. Through Angies list I got three estimates. One at $1,500, one at $1,800 and Thrifty whos number was $7,500. How do they justify this high estimate? It was hard not to laugh when I heard this number.

Dave Aviram and his staff provided high quality service in trimming my Liquid Amber and Black Pine. I had been prepared to sacrifice the Liquid Amber (backyard) based on my understanding that these trees have been dying regionally from an incurable disease. Dave explained to me on the phone that the branch dropping it was experiencing was most likely due to Summer heat/drought-related causes and suggested that I check the internet to inform myself about the situation, which proved quite helpful. He then came by the house to look at the tree. He told me that in fact all liquid ambers, including mine, were suffering from the disease but that my tree still had a number of good years of life it if I wished to keep it. I had lived with the tree for 30 years and was not in a hurry to lose it so we agreed to trim it substantially and provide a chemical treatment, including an insecticide and an antibiotic Dave s crew of four was efficient and competent. The two trimmers were skilled in their selection of branches to remove or trim. The tree looked beautiful when finished and the yard was enhanced by its shapeliness. A second arborist came by later to apply the chemicals. Similarly, the trimming of the Black Pine in the front yard improved significantly the look of the yard and house. Preparation was complete; virtually no damage was done to foliage that surrounded the tree thanks to the careful placement of protective boards. Cleanup was thorough. I was completely satisfied with Dave s expertise and his workers performance. I would enthusiastically refer his company to others.

Thrifty Tree Service did a great job removing two massive eucalyptus trees that were by my house. They were able to remove the trees without any damage to our house and used a stump grinder to make it so I can replant a new tree. They were very professional and I am very happy I used them to take on this massive project. I will definitely be using them for all tree service needs in the future after seeing how great of a job they did with these massive trees!

Very knowledgeable and professional. The crew even graciously helped me with a few requests to keep a part of the tree trunk as a little table. All debris was removed. They seem to care about their work and customer satisfaction. Dave (owner) followed up later in the day to insure all went well. I only wish the home owner (Im the tenant) had contacted him sooner -- he could have saved the tree. Advice - dont wait and dont just hire someone with a chain saw. Thats how this avocado tree died. Dave is a Certified Arborist -- big difference!

PERFECT TRANSACTION!!! I am in MIAMI but needed a palm tree cut down in Los Angeles. I called Thrifty Tree Service and spoke with Dave. I sent him a picture of the tree via text message. Dave gave me a quote over the phone, emailed me a proposal, as well as a copy of his liability insurance. I signed and returned the proposal via email and he and his crew came out the very next day. Dave sent me pictures of the job he had done. Everything was EXACTLY as promised. I paid him after the job was completed via a credit card and he sent me a Paid in Full zero balance due invoice for my records. I can tell you that they now have a new CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!! I hired thrifty to cut down a few trees for me. I tried a few times to use my gardening service and they just didnt know enough about trees or have the right equipment. So I hired thrifty. They were fast, on time, knowledgeable and their prices were great. Dave and his team now do my annual tree service and I wouldnt use anyone else.

Thrifty Tree Service trimmed my palm trees and removed a couple of other trees in my backyard. They came in, were fairly priced, and got the job done leaving my yard clean. Now I wont have dead palm fronds dropping in my yard! They really made my yard look good and Ill definitely have them come back next year to trim my palm trees. Great experience working with them!

What a talented team of workers, polite and hard working. Dave was present to start the crew, checked in on site mid -day for added guidance as the Arborist, and at the end for final details. They cleaned up everything and cared for saving a loved big tree and took care of years of overgrowth around the property in a way that will bring back new growth for beauty and safety. We paid for the best, and got it!

Thrifty Tree Service is fabulous. Id used two other companies in the past, and they pale by comparison. The great service started from day one: Dave, the owner, showed up promptly to walk our property and give us an estimate. To be honest, his price was higher than other companies, which gave me some initial pause. But after hearing why he charges what he does, I decided he was well worth the extra cost. Here are just some of the reasons: 1) hes a licensed arborist, 2) he had another licensed arborist on the job at all times, 3) his workers are all experienced, long-term employees that are on the books and fully covered by workers comp, 4) his tree climbers dont use spikes on their boots (so they dont damage the trees) and 5) his men prune at eye level and not from the ground (so the wounds created by the cuts are are small as possible and heal as quickly as possible). The excellent service continued on the day of the job. An army of 12 men arrived on time and were meticulous in their work, taking care to cover the sides of our house and lighting fixtures, to make sure that nothing was damaged. And as for the pruning, the trees look fabulous the best theyve ever been. Again, I cant recommend Thrifty Tree Service strongly enough. Your trees are a big investment; Daves service is worth every penny to ensure that your trees remain healthy and beautiful.

I am still reeling from the beautiful, artistic, careful, healing, orchestrated care that Dave and his huge crew (3 cherry pickers- my neighbors congregated to watch and marvel) did in our front yard to save and treat our trees. The Silver Maple is the star of the property. Even when we moved in, in 92, it had a big wart of fungus (mistletoe) on a huge central limb. Dave had it surgically removed (and saved the mistletoe for me for the holidays) along with many large branches Id thought could never be removed without harming the tree. He saved the tree. He cabled it for support and the branches that are healthy will now grow. I can almost hear my maple breathing deeply, with relief, that it can now devote all its energy to growing and sleeping in the winter in health rather than fighting off the progressive disease it suffered for decades. The podocarpus was thinned and looks beautiful. The pine tree was treated for bark beetle. The Zelcova was trimmed back to give the Jacaranda I planted years ago - which has never had enough canopy space - room to be beautiful. The Zelcova, which also has shot hole beetles (I think thats the name - it looks like bullet holes) was treated to get rid of those too. The shot hole beetle is affecting up to 35% of trees in CA and will change our canopy Davies fellow arborist, Leo, told me. Everyone on the crew was pleasant and smiling. Dave orchestrates like a conductor and the workers obviously enjoy doing their parts well as called upon. I ended up with a mulched parkway around air-spaded roots of trees that had been scarred by lawnmowers for years. Dave arranged for the mulch and the railroad ties to be brought so he could put them in. That was more than Id bargained for. The price is high; Five times what a tree-trimmer might ask for the whole yard. But the result is the difference between a massage and heart surgery. Worth every penny in terms of the value of our house and the love the earth has received. If youre thinking of spending money on your house, and you have trees - spend it on the trees for the life they give, worth far more than interior decoration for trends sake.

Daves team was not only safe and professional but they took the time to clean up beyond expectation. After having a tree-trimming nightmare less than a year ago, we (again) went through the process of meeting with arborists for quotes to remove 2 extremely large trees from our front yard. We were fortunate enough to meet Dave the operating owner of Thrifty Tree Service Inc. He was amazing -- extremely knowledgeable, transparent, honest, punctual, and genuine. He (unsolicited) provided us with his license, insurance, bond, and arborist certification info and quickly gained our trust and business. It was a big job, but only took 3 days to fully remove the two monster trees. It required the use of a 44 ton crane, hauling/dumping, grinding the stumps down, and filling the stump holes. His crew was tremendous also. They were respectful, professional, hardworking, and all spoke excellent English. Dave was not only present throughout the entire project, but was a masterful orchestrator, managing everything with calculated precision. He also was quick to pick up a chainsaw and really get his hands dirty, which to see a business owner be so hands on is rare. I never feel compelled to write reviews, but this experience was so smooth and painless, they really deserve the praise. Thank you Dave!

We have approximately 3 acres of mature trees, shrubs, etc. Our birch trees were attacked by parasites and dying. Many of our other mature trees were sickly. Dave and Leo came in an looked over everything. Spent a lot of time analyzing our options and teaching us about caring for our beautiful property. Gave us a great quote and came in with an amazingly professional group to attack the problems. And then afterwards would come back time and again to make sure everything was good and the trees were getting healthy again. I have never experiences such pros. From top to bottom. Highly recommend for any job, large or small. They are incredible.

I love to garden, but I don t love being a slave to an abundance of fallen leaves. Every morning and late afternoon I was raking leaves from my Magnolia tree. Never before did I have this problem. I felt the tree was having a hard time due to the drought and my inability to water as often because of Los Angeles new water laws. I didn t want to continue picking up leaves nor did I want to lose the tree. I asked around to find a good Arborist, and David from Thrifty trees was recommended from a very reliable source. I was blown away. He understood the mechanics of the tree and felt if he injected the tree with a new product he had researched it should restore the tree to good health and eventually stop the abundance of leaves it was losing daily. David knew what he was doing for in a short period of time my Magnolia had stopped its shedding and it looked healthy once again. David was excited with the results and pretty surprised at the quick turnaround of the tree s condition. Needless to say I was thrilled to have my tree back to looking beautiful with an added bonus of not needing to rake anymore. For over 40 years I have been heavily involved with my garden and over those years I have come in contact with a good amount of landscapers, arborist, tree doctors, gardeners, etc. of whom were all quite knowledgeable, but not one could hold a candle to David. He eats, sleeps, and breathes trees and he is far above all others in his field. His constant researching, reading, experimenting is what makes him full of great information and ideas.
