We have contracted with TruGreen to provide our lawn maintenance. My wife called TruGreen because we were having an issue with persistent crabgrass growing in our backyard. They sent a lawn tech out a few days after my wife called and treated the area. TruGreen did not charge us for this visit. Since the treatment the crabgrass is turning brown and wilting, while the surrounding grass is green and healthy. Thank You TruGreen!

I would say the lack of spot treatments on problem unique weeds. Particularly around the edges of the driveway, sidewalks and islands that are problem areas on everyones lawn. Instead of the customer requesting spot treatments, I think your agent should walk these areas rather than just ride around because they will miss them.

This is the third visit from a TruGreen Specialist to treat our lawn. I was somewhat skeptical to use them because of rumors of poor service I had heard. For me, I have found none of it was true at this time. They have been very good. Mike S treated my yard the first and third time and Antwan treated my yard the second time. There was good contact between TruGreen and the customer. They sent emails to me to notify me the specialist was on the way to our home and when the lawn service was done. In both emails, additional information was provided to me. The first email states the Specialist is on the way and provides a link to a live map to show the Specialist s current location. The second email provides a link to the Service Summary and a feedback link to complete about the services the Specialist provided. Both men were professional; explanatory about pets, cutting grass, etc.; and answered any questions I had. With only three treatments on our lawn, I can definitely see the lawn is improving, looking fuller and better.

I not rating them on lawn service. I am rating them on their driver. They were all over the road as a drunk person or maybe texting? Very unsafe and unprofessional.

BEWARE!!!! Technician came today and was supposed to fertilize and spray pesticide and I was charged for my full service. After reviewing my cameras I noticed he only fertilized. I called the company and they apologized and sent the same technician out. The technician took the pesticide hose from the back of his truck and trickled the pesticide onto 5 square feet of my lawn and left. Again caught on camera. I called tru green to complain and the customer service rep hung up on me when I explained that most houses have cameras and that they should be ashamed that their technicians are blatantly trying to rip off customers when most times they ll get caught on camera. I called for a third time and cancelled my service.

I have in the past requested a ride on machine to do my yard and 3 times this year they have used a hose and sprayed the treatment I probably wont have it done next year

I started the service at the beginning of summer of 2022. My lawn was neglected and had,patches of dirt, many weeds, just a mess. Now (9/23) the yard looks great. The staff are polite and flexible, the people who come to the house are almost invisible - here and gone!

Consistent issues with my local branch and its service techs. Sometimes they do whole yard sometimes they dont. Brian the manager has been very helpful. I have edited my review after speaking with Brian. Lets hope these issues can stay resolved.

First year with true green was 5 stars all day.. second year, 3 stars, 3rd year cancelled.. they are good at baiting.. and slithering likes snakes. FYI, they never send the same technician and the technicians arent there to retire. So Everytime someone comes, its just another person getting a nice read on the way you live and what you own, that was my #1 biggest complaint. They did make my lawn look nice though

Signed up over a month ago for mosquito applications, for 3 weeks their scheduling service indicated our property was on schedule. Never showed and each week it kept getting pushed out. Spoke to a rep yesterday and they told me they will be there tomorrow again never showed up. Called again and the service said the following week. I talked to another rep and cancelled service. A complete waste of time and very disappointed with the complete experience. I would never recommend to others.

Had trugreen come out and spray for ticks, mosquitoes, fleas, etc.. the first time they came out did nothing no changes.. they said they d come back out and spray free of charge was charged again on the card.. This time is worse then then the first job. Mosquitoes and fleas are 10x worse then it was before it started.. my dogs are treated for fleas so the fact my dogs have fleas more than usual is very frustrating.. very disappointed and will not EVER be using them again.

After using this service for years, every year I noticed more and more weeds! Hired another lawn care service and so far not a weed in my yard. I will never recommend Trugreen to anyone!!

Taking care of creeping Charlie, a ground Ivey that was taking over my back yard! After 4 months there is much less of that and all other weeds!

These people deff know how to care for a yard! And there pricing, very competitive.

I started with Trugreen in June 2022 and decided to pay monthly. I was willing to give them a chance to build my confidence in their company. The techs that come out pay very little attention to the notes on the account. I had requested 3x to have a crab grass application put down. I shouldnt have to continue to monitor what the techs actually do and dont d do each time they come out. One time we had a dry spell and the tech came out any way to put down a weed application. When I questioned the tech, I was told that because I questioned the visit... they would recommend waiting for it to rain first or the application could do damage. I dont want a canned apology that everyone else got. I simply no longer want anything to do with them. My neighbors are thankful they didnt go with them. Enough said!!!

I could write a book about how bad True Green s mosquito control is. They said they d spray every 4 weeks but more often if mosquitoes return. What a joke. We called. No one came. More than once they missed big areas that should have been sprayed. They are MUCH more expensive than other sprayers. Customer Service is We can t come. Period.

First, if you do a year program watch out they will just auto renew without any heads up. Randomly get $250 bucks charged to your CC then would have continued to charge until you call and cancel. Even besides that they are 2 stars at best for the small amount of effort and time savings you get from the service you are much better off doing it yourself in fact you would do your lawn a favor. It was nice to not worry about it for a season, but not worth the money at all.

Extremely deceptive sales tactics. Beware of what you are getting yourself into. They sell the service as a yearly lawn service. Most sensible people would assume this is for a year of service. Think again. It is for a certain number of applications, which they conveniently do in about 10 months time. Then in month 10 or 11, they start their yearly service all over again, so your annual cost is much more than they lead you to believe. You may be ok with this, it is just that they should absolutely be upfront & honest about this at the time they sign you up. Not to mention had as many, if not more weeds at the end of the the year of service than when I started. Not really sure what I paid for, as they never eliminated the weeds. Also, they are almost twice as much as most other lawn services, so will never use them again.

Accounting department very lazy. Even though they sit in front of computers they cant look anything up, like 2nd properties, or use a credit card on file. Also, the bill is much higher than expected. We cancelled our service because of incompetent office staff. Also, to pay the bill is complicated. No thinks.

We had TruGreens top package for year., our only request was to notify us before coming so we can open the gate and put up our dogs. Not once throughout the entire season did they call ahead, each time they came we called and asked to please call ahead and each time they showed up unannounced. They people who came out were good; although they were completely unknowledgeable about the products they were applying or lawn questions I asked. They told me to call tech support and and one of them handed me an information card on the product. On the last visit they came out to seed and aerate, I called ahead to let them know to stay at least 3 feet from the edge of the property because I had an invisible fence in the back, of course this message was never relayed. They came out once again unannounced when I wasnt home and cut my dog fence that I had to repair and bury. This is a very poorly managed company.

Using roundup (glyphosate) on lawns is destructive to the environment, cancer causing and is a big cause of beneficial insect drop off!!! I LOVE THE MONARCH BUTTERFLY AND ROUNDUP IS A HUGE CAUSE WITH REGARD TO THE PLUMMET OF THEIR NUMBERS!!! I would love to give it a negative review!

Paid to have complete yard cared for originally they came and only treated half of my front yard

This company is fraud , they will take your money and do very poor service and when you call they will not return your calls . They burned my lawn last year and never came back to correct it or called back . This year I canceled the service and they did a fake service and billed me for that , the service date is March 17 2021 , although by law they can not start any service before April 1. I called and called and still waiting for a response. Save yourself a pretty penny. This company was good in the past but not any more .

Look up your property by Satellite ! , come on , send a salesman, 748 dollars quote , and dont even come to get a real look at the lawn , no way ! Your satellite must have been looking at Burnett Park! What a joke , especially when she told me home depot can do it much cheaper ! I will definitely tell my neighbors to go else where , town of geddes beware ! Thanks for the feedback, and she was right 48 dollars for Scotts weed and feed ,and rental of the lawn PLUGGER , was worth my time ! Thanks for the great advice !

Drove straight by our home today ( security proof ) have been waiting weeks and then got a call our gate was locked well we have 3 cameras facing the front and driver drove straight by O the best part is there is no grass in gated area . Should have read reviews FRAUD !

I paid for the mosquito control and the weed control. Neither worked. I still have thistle growing all Over my back yard and I can t go out into my yard at dusk without getting eaten alive. I complained a few times and they sent out the trucks for a free service which still did not help. On top of that, which may even be worse, they call at least twice a week trying to upswell me another service. I will not be using their service again. Such a waste of my money, I could have sprayed my yard myself and gotten a better outcome.

I signed up for this service in early Spring. Good thing I decided to pay for each treatment and not the entire thing up front. It is almost September and they have only treated my lawn twice. And the only reason I got the second treatment was because I had to call TWICE to get them to come out. Never seen them again. I log in to my account and sometimes there is a future service date showing so I think they might actually come back. But no, a few days later and the service date is gone and I am back no scheduled date. According to my account I have 4 treatments left. For what? It will be snowing before they ever come back. Wish I had read the reviews before I signed up. I will not use them next year and have already contacted another company that friends have used that actually serviced their lawn this year. The two treatments I paid for were just a waste of money. But Trugreen doesnt forget about me when they send me texts trying to get me to sign up for more types of services!

The last service we had was 7/8 For mosquitoes. They were supposed to come on 8/27 and didn t show. I was promised they d be here on 9/2 as we are having a two year birthday party on 9/5 and they would put a note that they would be here. They didn t show. I called and they said they d come on Saturday 9/4 to do the service because I made them aware the situation. Here we are Saturday no message they are coming when I call it s now scheduled for 9/7. I was also told that a manger would call me about a missing application as my account stated 4 and I paid for 5. That was supposed to be within one two two business days of 8/26 that didn t happen. I then asked about that call when I called about my service and they said that it was now escalated to a manager and not an assistant. Still no call. Still missing a service on my account and still no service performed.

Are you looking for a big brand company that you will have to talk to someone new each time to explain what is going on? Then TrueGreen is perfect for you. I had my first treatment set up for Friday and confirmed by text from the tech. Friday was a critical day as I was having guests over that weekend. My scheduled window was between 1-6pm, at 545 the left a message saying they couldnt make it. I had to call TrueGreen myself to find out the next time someone would come out and you would think I would be next, but you would be wrong. I asked to cancel my service, they offered to give me the first treatment for free, so I stayed and waited for the service, which never came because they cancelled it. I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was told they dont do that and i could request a call in 24-48 hours.....still waiting. TrueGreen is terrible. I called a local pest control company, got the same price and timely responsive service. I would rather have mosquitoes in my yard and in my house then to ever work with this company again. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Im gonna jump on the bandwagon here with others and say the quality of service and commitment to following their service contract with you is very poor. They must be running low on people or have too many accounts to service, because like others this year, i signed up for 6 applications and had only received 2 up through mid-September. Then, the only reason they came out mid-September was because I called and complained. And then they applied TWO of my 6 applications to that one visit. Oh and I guess 6 applications doesnt have to be within one year. If they dont get to it then it rolls into the next year. Like...what??? Did I not pay for 6 applications in a specific calendar year, where my service agreement specifically shows 6 date ranges for applications??? I guess that doesnt actually mean anything. Its all very loose. Whenever they can get to it. My lawn is still full of weeds and i swear that their application is killing the tree in my front yard. This will very likely be my only and last year using Trugreen. Well i guess maybe next year to use up my service applications because they arent coming this year... that is, unless i can get my refund. That would be way better than having to deal with this bait and switch any more.

A horrible experience. Beware! I started service with Tru Green - Syracuse a year ago. I was given a quote for a series of services for a one -year period of time. The year s fee was about $1230. It was clearly quoted to me. Based on what information was provided to me at that time by the Tru Green representative who visited my residence - number of services, type of services, I made an informed decision and paid the quoted fee up front. After the year passed this past September, I called and asked when I would be billed for a second year of service. I was told to call on or around October 1 to make payment. I was told there would be a reduction in the second year of service - down to $1,087, because I complained there was some weed area problems I still had in the yard. I was advised I would have the same services, same amounts, which I agreed to. In a conversation with a Tru Green representative (Syracuse phone number) on October 18, I was advised that I would have to pay an additional $596 for that first year of service, before I could consider a second year of service. I was advised that the fee was for services that went beyond the 12 months of the original agreement of service. I advised the representative that I was never advised when I agreed and paid for a year s worth of services, that the services would go beyond a one-year period of time and that after the 12 months passed, I would be billed an additional $596. I also advised that I was told a second year s of service would be $1087, so why was the fee for the first year approximately $1826 - quite a difference. In my opinion, Syracuse Tru Green did a bait and switch with me. You don t make an agreement with a new client saying you will provide a year s service (12 months) for a certain fee, and then charge a higher fee later. If you plan to do so, you explain this precisely to the client, because $596 is a lot of money. It s against the law to do so. I will file a complaint with the local BBB. I terminated service with Tru Green Syracuse. Because I hate being told one thing and a business doing another thing, all to gain more Money. Beware!

Horrible customer service!

Signed up yesterday for easy pay installment payments. Called 5 minutes later about a glitch and had to call customer service to stop the debit of the full amount. Was told by customer service that we called in time and the money would not be debited. Very next day full amount is charged and we were told our refund had to go up to accounting because of the large sum. Funny how money can be taken in 24 hours mistakenly but getting it back takes 3-5 business days. Already canceled without ever getting one service because they shotty practices. Also have yet to hear from a manager. Beyond frustrating these billing practices ruining otherwise good sales reps.

Customer service is absolutely horrible! The only reason I gave any stars is because Tessa the tech came and saved the day.

They mosquito treatment works very well and they do come out and spray again whenever you need it. Only problem is there are certain people that dont do the whole yard. I have water out behind my house and I have watched them a few times not even go near it. They will get around the house and leave. They do have some exellent workers that will get the entire yard and it works great.

I ve had numerous problems with TruGreen. First of all, they had my account setup for front yard only. Had I not been working from home I would ve never known. That finally got resolved after a few phone calls. Also, had a lawn service person come to my house a day after mosquitoes were sprayed (signs already on my property), sat in his truck for a while then hung the receipt on my door. Realized this after the lawn didn t seem to be improving so, That prompted me to look at my security footage. After several phone calls and promises of a manager calling I finally got a free service for my troubles. I was notified that my free service was to be performed on July 29th but I received a cryptic message at the end of the day saying that they wouldn t be here. Now I have to call TruGreen AGAIN to figure out what s going on, only to be given an option to be put on the schedule. At this point, honestly, I don t even care if I m on the schedule anymore. My lawn is filled with crab grass and various other weeds, it s just so annoying that I m having to manage this so called service company. I just want the service to be performed and pay my bill. I ve lost ALL trust in TtuGreen. From the looks in my yard, I should call them TruWeed. Anyhow, the part that is most upsetting is that I ve been told a local manager would call me within 24 hours on at least 4 occasions and I have not received one call. This is the branch in Syracuse. Before hiring TruGreen in the Syracuse area, these are definitely some things to consider.

This company doesnt get any stars. The only way to write a review is to give them 1. We scheduled an appointment for a bug treatment.You cant schedule 1. You have to sign up for a package. First complaint you get a text at 6:15 am that they are coming and they give you a time frame. We had a text from a tech. He was on his way and it was a complete downpour. We called customer service and asked if they will actually come and spray during a rain storm. As it was explained to us. Its up to the tech. If it didnt take care of bug issue. They would spray again. We have a dog. Its been explained the product needs to dry at least a couple hours before she can go on it. Our question why not contact us cancel because its raining.why spray ,possibly waste product and now we have to wait even longer for the lawn to dry to let our dog out.We just rescheduled. Told them specifically not Wednesday. Wednesday morning again 6:15 am we are coming today. We are like really??!!! We specifically said dont schedule for Wednesday. We called and canceled the service and asked for a refund. After one week we hadnt received our refund so we called again and were told that it would be 5 to 7 business days. Today is business day 7 and no refund. It was almost $400! We were contacted Wednesday night by a manager wanted to know what made us cancel so we explained. Thursday night another manager called us asking the same question. The customer service is the most unprofessional that we have ever experienced. I will be surprised if we ever receive our money.

My entire neighborhood uses there services and every yard that was treated has been fried to a crisp and have not had any sort of response on how this will be taken care I havent received any apology I was just given the excuse chemicals have been mixed wrong I do not recommend this company I have been a customer for over a decade and have been treated like I was a bother to whoever i spoke to

my lawn has been treated all year by trugreen. It is still has weeds and many brown spots. I think it got burned by the chemicals they used on it. My neighbors that do not have a lawn service their lawns look much better than mine. I have used trugreen for the past 3 years. this is the worst it has ever been.

I have never experienced a more unprofessional contractor in my life! We hired trugreen for lawn care services at the beginning of the summer 2020. They came and did 4 or 5 treatments and after the last one we realized that the lawn actually looked WORSE this year than last year. We called and cancelled the future appointments. You would think that the saga would end there but youd be wrong! My husband called with a follow up, to be sure that they had cancelled, was assured that they had. a week or so later they called and said that they had us scheduled for the service that we had cancelled, so my husband told them that he had already cancelled the service and that we had overseeded the yard. Asked them a THIRD time NOT to come and cancel the future services. They assured him that they wouldnt. He was then contacted AGAIN and asked if it would be ok for them to come out and do an assessment. He agreed to the assessment NOT ANOTHER TREATMENT and was told we would be issued a refund for the previous treatment. Which brings us to today, when their employee showed up AND SPRAYED THE LAWN ANYWAY! This is after 4 phone calls telling them NOT to do anymore treatments. Shortly after they left, i checked the account and low and behold we have an invoice for $88. They would like us to pay them for the service that they were told 4 TIMES not to do! AND we still havent received the refund for the previous treatment. So do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Not only have I paid $400 for my lawn to look worse, they now have COST ME $187 in seed that is no doubt, ruined, due to them not cancelling our future services. 1 star is too many stars, if i could have given them NO stars thats what i would have chosen.

I spend a lot of time in the yard whether on the deck or in the pool. Mosquitoes are non existent. weeds are under control and shrubs and hedges are healthy. I have been a client for a few years and see the benefits year after year.

They never treated my lawn with weed control even after I signed the consent form to have it treated for weeds. Then they repeatedly fertilized it. So what I ended up with is a front lawn which is 90% crab grass. My back lawn was still decent but after I complained and told them to never return, they returned when I was at work one day and put something on my back lawn which quickly killed 1/2 of my grass. Then they hounded me to pay them for the treatment administered after I fired them.... the one which killed my back lawn. I have spoken to their representatives on the phone twice asking that they come see my lawn and discuss it with me but they never responded. Worst quality service ever and worst customer service ever!

My lawn was nothing but weeds and ground ivy. It took a couple of years but TruGreen gave me a beautiful green lawn with no weeds.

Generally tops in all they have to offer.

Its been a week since my lawn was treated. At this point there are more weeds in our yard than there was before the treatment. No very pleased at this point.

Prepaid for season of mosquito control. Had an irate neighbor from one block away knocking on door angry that HIS yard had been sprayed! Multiple calls to TruGreen yielded many promises, but no action. It has been four-weeks. They have my money, I have no treatment.

Had my lawn sprayed for mosquitoes 6/28/2019, as of 7/10/2019, 12 days later, the mosquito problem is back to the way it was (actually the treatment lasted less time than that, I have been too busy to call and deal with TruGreen). Called yesterday, can t and wouldn t give me a date/time when they will be out to re-treat the yard. Looking at the other comments, I m guessing that it will happen around the next billing cycle. I ll cancel the 27th if they pull that!

I dont want to put pesticides in my lawn anymore

Lawn looks much better after 1 year of service. I thought it would look even better, but maybe Im too critical. Crabgrass and clover still there. Crabgrass is reduced. Clover and other broadleaf plants still abound. Bare patches are filling in with grass and grass is stronger everywhere. I wish TruGreen would reseed bare spots this Fall at my expense if reasonable.

Mentioned the nuts edge / weed issue to tech who indicated last treatment would make an improvement...it didnt touch that weed.

One week in and already seeing results! I wasted so much money over the years with DIY, so far best decision I ve made in awhile. PS my service guy is a champ! Can t wait to talk lawn stuff on the next service apt.

You dont have to be home for them to come and do their work

Save your money. I have had so many problems with the Syracuse branch,it blows my mind. They had to send someone back three times to spray my yard for weeds because the first two they sent out missed half of it. Then they were supposed to air rate my lawn last Fri so I waited for four hours for them to show up only to have the guy stop in front of my house and then drive away. I called the main office and they said they would have someone call asap,that wast 6 days ago,still no call!!!

I am usually home when TruGreen arrives to apply the scheduled application. I greet the Specialist and we have a brief conversation which includes what today s application is. I find that the Specialists are professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. I like the fact that I am notified through email that the service is scheduled for a particular date so that if the date does not work for me, I can call and reschedule which I have done. I am also notified through email on the date of the service, the approximate arrival time. At the completion of the application, I receive not only a printout of the service from the specialist, but an email from TruGreen of the same. I would recommend TruGreen as a reliable lawn maintenance company.

I am usually not home when service is provided. However, I always receive a voice mail letting me know the date and the treatment is provided on time. When I have been home and met the service technician, he has always been very professional, friendly, and asks if I have any questions.

A representative from Trugreen came to our door and provided a written quote for service. When we called to sign up for service, we were told that they would not honor that quote despite having it in writing and the name of the employee that provided it. A company that doesn t honor its word is a company I will not do business with

Need lawn care. However, the salesman was so pushy to get my business, he lost mine. Wouldnt let me finish sentences. Will try elsewhere.

My experience was just like the TruGreen Review on Youtube. I was only refunded for $130 for the faking of the applications as I could only prove it on two visits. I set my camera up because I knew it wasnt being done right. It took me hours getting no where with them on the phone. I ended up taking care of my own lawn. TruGreen is not worth the hassle. They promise they will take care of you between visits but drag their feet until it is time for the next visit.

I called. Some guy talked for 15 min and then sent me a quote for over 300 dollars for six visits to spread some fertilizer and this was for only the front yard (2700) feet. Be careful when doing business with these people. Get everything in writing

The WORST EXPERIENCE ......recently signed up for front lawn service ONLY - face to face with salesperson. Specifically requested front lawn only - due to the fact that my pets spend all time in back yard. Neighbor notifies me this morning that TruGreen has treated my entire back yard - I called immediately to complain - the best TruGreen can do for me is to have someone call me back within 24 hours. This is why I have never purchased this service.

They are the best and Corey is the greatest and is a wonderful specialist.

Good quality and value for a fair price. In fact, we have not had any reason to have a return visit. What would be appreciated is a long-time customer discount.

Phenomenal, great attention to detail and even better on their Mosquito deals. Much better than Orkin, or the Mosquito professionals. And the fact that they are constantly looking into better and modern services is a huge plus for us.

Weve used trugreen for about 5 years. The last 2 years have been terrible, the lawn is full of weeds including crab grass which I dont understand if they actually did the crabgrass application they claim to do! I dont think they did. They wont come when scheduled, and the lawn looks terrible. So happy we didnt prepay. Im canceling service and doing it myself. #fraud

They promise in between service visits to fix any issues you have, but make it impossible to reach anyone that can take care of the issues, By the time you go back and forth with the company it is time for the next service - steer clear!

I have had nothing but trouble since i signed up. I prepaid otherwise I would have dropped them by now. weeds are still here. have to call to re do almost every time and quite a hassel to to that. they have to send you a new form that you have to sign and send back each and every time THEY do not do a good job getting rid of the weeds. The service person knows you are home, yet does not come to the door to explain anything. they are doing my over 3000sq ft yard in less than 5 mins... very expensive for that little amount of time, effort they dont put into my paid service. dont waste your money on this company.... ( also call service is always at least a 20 min wait on hold)

They do a great job

The gentleman who takes care of my lawn Phil is very good at what he does, he doesnt miss any spots at all. I am happy with the way my lawn is cared for and the way it looks.

I work full time so I am not home when the lawn treatments are done. However, they seem to do a nice job. I do wish that our lawn was a little greener in color. No fault of yours. So far I am satisfied with the service. I have been with True Green for the last few years.

I am extremely pleased with the service I am receiving from Trugreen and their tchnicians.I get many compliments about our lawn. I have referred many people in my neighborhood to Trugreen.

Lawn appearance continues to improve and our specialist James Jock is a pleasure. This is the second time I have been at home when he was here and again he was very accommodating and readily addressed the questions I had.
