EGO sent me to this company as a repair center for their electric products. My string trimmer was giving me problems. Nick returned my call, told me to bring the tool in and ask for him to take a look at it. When I got there Nick was out with another customer and Bobby asked if he could help me - so I explained and I had spoken with Nick and that I could wait on Nick. Bobby said - let me have a look at it please. He took a look, reloaded the line, showed me a trick the manufacturer fails to tell you in the how to manual. My point is, in my experience, this level of customer service and care, making the extra effort, is rare. All I ll say is that if you re in need of repair and are reading reviews, if you aren t using Sterling you re doing it wrong. I just used them for the first time and you can tell they are the top of the ladder in mower repair. This is an actual storefront that sells mowers, blowers, trimmers etc They ll take care of you. It s not a dirt garage with a toothless mechanic wearing overalls, watching you pull up. These guys are pros and go the extra mile to make you a happy customer. My mower had sat for probably 10 years. Cobwebs, mucked up carburetor, and a few other things that weren t working right. When I got it back, my mower looked and ran like new, was cleaned and blades sharpened for half the price other places would charge. I m good to go. They were much faster than advertised too! I had my mower back in 36 hours. Beat that!!

Oh my gosh, this place is amazing. Friendly workers, very fast, reasonable prices, knowledgeable technicians--- what more can you ask for?! We brought in a Husqvarna chainsaw that we couldnt start. Bobby quoted us clear prices on repairs and a deposit if they were not able to start it. However, Chris is a magician and with a little finagling he was able to get it unflooded and started up! Later we purchased a new chain for our neighbors saw and the guy (didnt get his name) built it by hand and even showed me how to get it on properly. It was just that rare experience of a well-run business. My husband walked out and said 100% we are bringing all our small engines here in the future!

I dropped my lawn mower off for service and this team did a fantastic job. They called me the next day with a detailed description of the work that needs to be performed and an estimate. The work was completed immediately and they restored my lawn mower to tip top shape the very next day. This team is very busy with the amount of work they have, yet their attention to detail is excellent. My lawn mower works better than before and looks brand new!!! Great team and great service. I have only had to use Sterling Mower a few times because when they fix my stuff it stays fixed. Just had my 30 year old push power mower repaired and it runs like new at a cost of less than 1/4 what the new comparable ones cost. Highly recommended.

Picked up my rebuilt tiller this morning. I had brought it in to be recycled when they told me they couldnt repair it but when they looked it over they found they could replace the original 40+ years old Briggs and Stratton engine with a used Honda pressure washer engine (the washers die when their pumps give out, which are too expensive to replace, but the engines are usually still serviceable) for $243. Well worth it!

Nick and Chris (the owners of Sterling Mower) and their staff have been awesome to work with over the past 20 plus years that I have been a customer here. They will take the same time to help a customer find a specific bolt or buy a new piece of equipment. Their customer service is unmatched and they are honest to a fault (one time about 5 years ago they steered my Dad away from a mower that they sold in their showroom and sent him elsewhere because they hadnt yet tested the manufacturer motor changes in the new mower to a point where they could strongly recommend it. We were there in person and ready to buy on the spot). Who does that? I now dont even price match when I need new equipment- I just go there and buy what I need. I know they are fair, and stand behind their products. They have earned my business and more importantly my trust.

These guys are awesome! They not only fixed my broken mower that had a bad carburetor, they also sharpened the blades, cleaned fuel lines and tank, and replaced the spark plug. And some other little things. All for $110!

Hands down, phenomenal service. I dont write many reviews, but I felt the need to express how good of a shop Sterling Mower Repair is. The owner, Nick, is great at what he does and has an excellent staff. I purchased a used Toro push mower from them a year ago at a very fair price. I used this mower for the entire year almost weekly. I took it in for a regular service and it had some issues that needed to be addressed. Since the issues were a bit more involved, and they wanted to stand behind a USED mower that they sold me a year ago, Nick and the team went way beyond my expectations and fixed all the issues and serviced the mower. Having bought this from them, they didnt even charge me for the full normal servicing price for all the work completed. Every detail along the way was explained well and they will show you exactly what they are describing if you have a question. Please do yourself a favor and give them a chance on any equipment servicing or new or used purchase of equipment.

Nick, who I presume is the owner super great guy. Interested in educating you when you buy a nice piece of equipment couldnt say enough nice things about him, great experience. Bought a monster Stihl chainsaw.

Brought a DeWalt pressure washer to them on a Saturday. The part I needed was not readily available and my customer was pressing me to fix the machine right away. Although they were really busy with customers, the owner himself took the time and trouble to find the part I needed in his box of spare parts and then sold it to me at a very reasonable price. They are always friendly and willing to help with my questions. I cant recommend them highly enough. Great place to go for your repairs!

Great crew who have helped service my lawn mowers over the years. They have a very well-trained staff, and work hard to get things done quickly - but remain focused on doing the job well. Just some words of advice: During their peak times you are looking at a 10 to 14 day wait, so if you are thinking you need some repair work done, or need to get your machine cleaned out from the winter, get to them earlier rather than later. I recommend them very highly!

Best Small Engine Repair Shop in the Area.. They fix it all and they have the best customer service I have ever seen. I dropped my mower off for repair and they had a sale on Stihl chainsaws.. So I got a fantastic deal.. plus they showed me the best tips and tricks to operating it.

Hands down the most dependable lawn equipment repair shop I have been to. I have been a customer for over 30 years here and have bought all of my residential equipment from them. The staff is courteous, trustworthy, and certainly recognizes the value of long term customers. Nick (owner) is a super guy who will always help in answering questions about equipment or needed repairs.

Ive bought three separate Stihl tools from these guys and theyve been super helpful and patient each time. They know all about the tools, and are glad to answer questions and provide suggestions when I have difficulties or concerns. I regularly get my mower blades sharpened here and they are always quick to help and get me taken care of. They certainly know how to run a business and have great customer service. I will happily drive past a few other shops just to come here.

Seem to have to bring in my lawn mower every year. They dont actually test the machines on grass once theyre repaired so you dont know until you use the machine that something is still not right. As long as it starts, they think its okay. Replaced the cable to the blade control. The screw was not attached properly so the vibrations from using the mower rattled the screw loose and the controller fell off. Extremely sensitive; if you let go of the blade control lever even the tiniest bit, the blades disengage. Now, they wont stay on at all. The power drive had also gone out. After the repair you have to push the lever all the way down and hold it there full force in order for the mower to move forward. Extremely hard on the hands. Im actually in pain after I cut the grass. I used to love my lawn mower; not anymore. To SMR, You wouldnt trust your mechanic to say your car was repaired without them test driving it; would you? Then you should test the machines before giving them back to your customers.

Nick the owner and manager is hands down is the the best at customer service, a genuinely great human being. I went in for a new walk behind mower and blower due to new house with an acre...yay..time to sweat. I took a loan out for this purchase and I swear Nick read my distressed look during purchasing decisions. He had a beautiful used commercial ex mark on the floor and promised me a warranty equal to new due to overkill for my acre lawn. What a great dude!! Propmptly bought a back pack blower cause of my savings. I asked if he could sharpen blades before I left and he threw on new ones! No reason to go elsewhere! Thanks Nick and crew, Damon P.S. These guys are the best! I came in after the snowstorm of 2016 to fix my snowblower. They quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it while I waited, and charged me a very reasonable fee. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about them. They will now be my go-to guys for servicing my snowblower as well as my lawnmower. Nice work, guys, you rock!!!

These guys are awesome.. Took an old Toro gas trimmer in for repair... They gave me an honest assessment factoring in the diagnostic fee and the cost of the repair and determined it just wasnt worth it to fix.. But they had a solution and instead offered a used, refurbished replacement with a one year guarantee for only $80, cheaper than the cost to repair my machine.. I was also given a quick tutorial on how to operate the new machine and some really good sound advice on how to care for the engine so it lasts years to come.. I had heard good things about this shop and they definitely exceeded my expectations.. The trimmer works like brand new....They were friendly, helpful and I was out the door with my replacement trimmer in less than 15 minutes.. These are my go to guys for sure now!!!

Went to get parts for an Exmark and advice being it was hunting at idle. What a knowledgeable group. I had found a small 1/8 inch round plug under the mower and I showed it to a technician. The thing to note is I had talked to four other repair shops and know one new anything about this plug. This guy told me it was the low idle carburetor plug. Gave me the parts I needed, the SB on how to install it, and sent me on my way. Where have you got this kind of service before. I will send everyone I know to this shop. What a breath of fresh air in these current times. Thank you for being there when I needed you.

Some repair shops, it feels like they are doing you a favor by providing a service. not these guys. I have come to them a half dozen times and half the time they fix on the spot at no charge. autonation Honda Dulles needs to take some lessons from them. haha

Even though I came here just to buy $3 worth of fuel lines for my trimmer, the staff is very friendly and very helpful. Even though the store is out of the way for me, i will come here if i ever need something for my yard machines.

Great first-time experience. Arrived just before they opened, they promptly opened at 8:00 a.m., and helped me right away. Ten minutes and a very reasonable charge later, I left with a repaired air compressor. Would definitely use them again.

My brother - the family mechanic - helped me troubleshoot why my riding lawn mower wouldnt start - from 500 miles away over the phone. At least to a 90% chance, he said. I had helped a friend this past fall, by taking his snow blower to this place. They made an oops on the finishing touches - not discovered until he got home, but they came out and made it right. Doing that helped me make the decision to bring the carburetor assembly to them. Any business that will make their mistake right has to be worthy. When I brought my part to them, I noted they were friendly to others in line ahead of me, which made me feel better about the call to bring it there. I explained what my brother told me to do, what I did, and their assessment was in line with what my brother said. Admittedly, they were a day or two past the expected repair time. However, my brother told me to expect a bill of between $100 to $200. Turns out, as explained to me by the technician upon pick up, the problem was the solenoid. They lubricated and exercised it until is was working, even soaked and cleaned the carburetor, and charged me $40. They could have easily duped this non-mechanic and charged me four or five times that, and I would have paid. The fact that they didnt tells me this is a square-dealing shop, and I would recommend them to any friend. Just be a little patient. I forgot to add: this non-mechanic hooked up the assembly to the mower, jumped on the seat, turned the key, and it purred like a cat.

These guys are awesome. My mower hit a stump, bending the blade. The clerk described all my options and what could have been damaged other than the blade. So I bought the blade hoping that that would solve the problem. They sold me a new blade and even installed it right there. Saving me the whole morning trying to figure out how to do it. I will go nowhere else. These guys rock!!
