Smith Land Works - Landscaping and Lawn Care in St. Petersburg

After having to throw in the towel on ever getting caught up with the yard work on my own, I started looking into lawn services and/or landscapers. I needed to get the yard back to looking good, and wanted to redo it into something that I’ll be able to manage by myself for the most part. After looking into several companies, reading & re-reading reviews, I contacted Smith Land Works – and I’m glad I did. John of Smith Land Works has now done several yard jobs for me, from taking down a tree that had been planted in a bad location and clearing vines & shrubs that were running rampant, to defeating the army of volunteer fan palms that had invaded my front yard. I had tried cutting them down to nothing and digging them out, but they just dug in deeper and went to the plant version of DEFCON 3. They have now been wiped from the face of my earth, thanks to John. I think he may have an appetite for destruction, because he also broke up & removed a concrete/stone walkway from the side and rear of the house in no time, in preparation for something new. His work is stellar and his prices are very fair. He’s easy to work with and has good suggestions for those times I’m debating which way to go. I’m glad he’ll be doing the next phases of my landscaping reset.

I first used these guys to demolish an old detached garage. Excellent job. Then during Idalia a very large tree came down at one of my rentals. They did another excellent job. Will use them again.

Landscaping was perfect and John had the right idea for what I needed the work was done in the schedule that was set it had changed the front of my condo…..looks great !!

I bought a house recently and the backyard was a disaster. I'm glad I called John. He tore down a dilapidated detached garage, removed the concrete floor and cleared decades of overgrown bushes and trees. Will use again.

I hired John to excavate a driveway for my home. This was one of those jobs on surface looked fairly straight forward. It turned out to be anything but. John ended up having to remove over 9 ton of concrete waste hiding under neath dirt and clay. Because of this the job took John several more hours than he quoted. And it required John to make extra trips to dump the waste. When we finally got it graded and laid down sea shells (my choice) and done, I expected the cost 2 be much more than John quoted. NOPE - John did not charge a dime more and I expect probably lost $$ putting in my driveway. Why would anyone do this? Because John is a man of integrity, professionalism and honor. All reflected in the quality of his work, his equipment and humble demeanor. He is a veteran which I didn't know till I asked. I can't thank John enough for his service. Both to this country and to his business- he deserves the highest star rating possible.

I own a small commercial property in Seminole. After neglecting my parking lot for way too long I reached out to Smith land works. They trimmed the trees, cleaned out the leaves, weeds and trash, and removed a large branch that had fallen on the fence around the dumpster. He was also happy to accommodate me on Sunday when we’re closed. Recommend.
