Metro Lawn Sprinkler was recommended to us some 10 years ago and we installed at that time. We have always had prompt and courteous service from both maintenance and office personnel. We have never had an issue with the system and opening and closing procedures have always been performed in a timely manner. I would recommend their system to all new clients.

Scheduled a back flow test and repairs to a system that was installed by another company years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting Chris. He was incredible to work with. Have used Metro since I bought my house and have never had an issue with service or scheduling. Will continue to keep using them since they have provided such a great service. 5/1/2023 - Brendan and David came out today to activate my sprinkler and do the backflow test and they were both great to work with.

They don t answer their phones, nor do they call back if you leave your number. I don t understand how a company stays in business with this kind of customer service.

We had our sprinkler system installed in February. Our contact person was very good at educating us on the system since weve never had one before. He sketched out a map of where all the sprinkler heads and pipes would be installed so we could see it before approving the work. The company acquired all necessary permits for us. They showed up for installation when they said they would and stayed in good contact to coordinate timing. I would have liked for the trenches to have been closed and leveled more effectively, but they werent too bad. Ive since had to fill in the trenches with dirt because they stayed open for months and I could look into them in some places and see the pipes. There was one leak in the system that we found because there was a very small seep where our water main pipe comes through the basement wall. They were extremely responsive and showed up the same day to check out the issue, and within 2 days had a crew out to repair the leak. They are great about sending in the backflow tests to the city and the system has worked great. What a time favor!

After a 7 week wait they knocked the job out in one day and did a good job. Irrigation system works great paired with the Rainbird App it s way better than moving the sprinkler around the yard. Well worth the wait.

I had a terrible experience with this company. I requested a technician to check for leaks, and they assured me there were none in my system. However, I later discovered from the water company that there was indeed a leak. When I contacted the company again, they demanded an additional $100 just to come and recheck. Not only that, but my interaction with Emily in customer service and Justin, the service manager, was incredibly rude. They constantly interrupted me and even had the audacity to say I should have found the leak on my own. Overall, the customer service was dreadful, and it s evident they lack care for their customers. Justin, the service manager, showed no concern that their poor service was driving away a customer. I would strongly advise against using this company for any services.

Dont leave junk on my door when I clearly have a no soliciting sign

I have been using Metro for years and I m extremely happy with the service they provide. Each year when the tech comes out they re always thorough in making sure all the heads work properly. They re even offered suggestions for soaking times to reduce water runoff. I ll never switch.

We had to replace our old sprinkler system and got 3 estimates for a new system . Metro gave us several options, all better meeting our needs than the old system. Price was similar or better than the others. The very efficient crew was able to get the job done in a single day without tearing up the yard significantly. The Rainbird system gives us a lot of control to fine tune our lawn, flower and vegetable garden needs depending on the weather. We are very satisfied with the results since midsummer.

The pricing was reasonable and Greg was very knowledgeable when he came out for the estimate. They even worked with us when we were not able to be at our home during the installation as we were in the hospital having our second child!

This company consistently pursues excessive charges AND consistently seems to favor system replacements over necessary repairs. Each technician Ive worked with has offered a different narrative about my system, yet all paths lead to advocating for a complete replacement when our irrigation system performs adequately. They also dont take responsibility for technician inadequacies or fix issues they caused during their last visit. It would benefit them to revisit fundamental business practices to receive five stars.

Update from the last review. I apparently didnt learn my lesson so decided to get a quote from Metro for landscaping in front and back of my house based on an email advertisement Metro sent to me. The office staff was nice and helpful so it started off well and I thought maybe I was going to need to change my first review on them. The rep came to my house and I walked the project with him showing what needed to be done and listening to some suggestions from the rep as well. The rep left and before leaving told me it wouldnt be that week that I would get the quote. As that was February, I wasnt worried about the quote taking a couple of weeks. That was a month ago. I havent received a phone call, email, mail correspondence or text with a quote for the project. Very unprofessional, not to mention just rude and poor customer service. I even emailed Metro letting them know I hadnt received a quote from them. I refuse to call them directly, as there are too many other landscape companies out there to go with that I wont be chasing Metro down for a quote. I would have been fine with the rep just saying that Metro wasnt interested in doing the job, but to leave my house with the idea I would be receiving a quote and then not providing one is asinine. Needless to say, this business is ridiculous and this will be the last review from me for them, as I definitely will not call them again for any reason. Fool me once, fool me twice deal. The techs that come out for service are pretty helpful. The office staff is the absolute worst. They completely act like they are doing you a favor by charging you to come out and as if they are the one and only irrigation company. Only starting using them after purchased new house that had a system installed already by them. Didnt know any other company. Unfortunately I tried another well known, large irrigation company and although the customer service was tremendously better than metro, they overcharge, so Im still on the hunt for a new irrigation company. Any suggestions? Metro should really take a look at these reviews about their office staff. Rude women there.

Great service is always offered!

Long story short . I contacted Metro for an Estimate to get my sprinkler system started up. I did not know when the system was last used or serviced because I just purchased the home, but there was a Metro sticker on the control box. The office staff informed me that I could not get an estimate and that I could only have a technician come out to start up the sprinkler system. Metro sent a technician out and he could not locate the valve to turn the system on/off. I then received a bill for an activation that never took place. Unacceptable.

Anybody thinking about getting a new sprinkler system or Lawn Care done with this company this spring dont do it! I used to work there I know how they operate! The office staff is like a bunch of zombies poor customer service poor response time on estimates or no call backs at all. All the equipment is old and broken down. I would not trust any employees or any of their equipment on my lawn. Bottom line is do not use this company for anything.

Metro has been my irrigation services provider for more than 20 years. If they did not do a good job, I would not have continues to contract for their services. After disappointment with our previous sprinkler contractor we had sprinkler repair work done by Metro Lawn Sprinklers & Landscapes in 2016. we switched to in 2017. We have had an annual sprinkler service maintenance contract with them since then and have been very pleased. They installed a French Drainage system in our front and back yard in 2018 that includes a three-year material & labor warranty. We were very impressed with their work. We switched from another lawn service contractor in 2019 to Metro s Lawn Division. Since then we ve purchased their annual 6-step plus Grub Lawn Service Agreement, and our lawn has never looked better.

Metro installed our irrigation system a few years ago and have maintained it ever since. They are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I have no reason to use anyone else.

Ive used Metro for several years for my irrigation system maintenance. They came out this year, and I asked for an estimate for a repair that needs to be made. They never got back to me, so I called them again. They still never got back to me after a week, so I called them again. No response. Im starting to wonder if they are going out of business.

Their service staff are quick and more than happy to help with adjustments to irrigation configurations. When we moved in initially the technician walked us through every zone and adjusted for the most optimial results to keep our lawn looking healthy and green. Backflow testing is also a breeze since they also cover those services within their yearly maintenance plans!

My first irrigation / sprinkler system, so I had no idea what to expect. Wow! Busy season they got here earlier than the date promised (great), big crew, asked questions that I had not even realized might be an issue (i.e. downspouts, and drainage I had done). I would definitely recommend being there when the work is done so they can make adjustments on the fly, which they did several for me, didnt bother them a bit, they just wanted to make it right. They came out the next day and and made sure I was 100% satisfied. Great experience !

Scheduling the Spring start up and Winterization is easy and the service man has always arrived at the scheduled time. They were very helpful when I requested assistance with a control box programming question. They walked me thru it on the phone and I avoided a service call. It is a pleasure to work with this company.

We had Metro install a new drainage pipe in our backyard from an oversized downspout that was leaking and causing water issues around our foundation. They were competitively priced and great at following up regarding scheduling since we were getting close to winter. They came out as soon as the weather cooperated and did a great job. They were great at communicating what they were doing throughout the install and guaranteed their workmanship for 1 year.

I have finally had enough of Metro Lawn. Ive used them for four years. I should have know better not to use them when during the initial meeting with the sales person he was rude and arrogant. I ended up using them anyway to install an irrigation system and a retaining wall for thousands of dollars. Their installation crew broke my neighbors sprinkler system which Metro had to then repair. I will give them credit for doing a nice job on the retaining wall. However, each year when I have the sprinkler system turned on in the Spring and winterized in the Fall there is always something broken that requires hundreds of dollars to repair. One year the guy pencil whipped the back flow inspection and when I questioned it with Metro they sent another tech out to redo it and he told me the previous tech was fired since he was just pencil whipping all his inspections. However, the ongoing issue that has now driven me away is the office staff at Metro Lawn. They are rude, rude, rude. They refuse to work with your schedule or make any accommodations. They dont even pretend to act like they are being polite and courteous. This happens year after year. They need to be replaced with people that at least act like they care about the customer. I have seen other reviews that basically say the same thing about the office staff. So that is it. After todays winterization I am finished with Metro Lawn. I will find another company that wants my business, works with me on scheduling, and doesnt always need to repair something every time they turn on or turn off my sprinkler system. I highly do not recommend Metro Lawn for your sprinkler systems. I would welcome speaking to the Metro Lawn upper management or owners about my issues and concerns.

I got several bids and they were in the middle on price, but it was easy to see that Nick knew what he was talking about with the design and equipment. He was easy to work with and even priced out a few options, so I could decide what I wanted to do. Since then, they have always done the annual maintenance to both turn on and also winterize the systems. They are easy to work with and schedule.

Reminder cards are always sent out so I can remember to make appointments. They come right away when called for repairs. Apparently they pick and choose which communities they prefer to serve.... Now mind you, all over the website it says Metro Lawn and Sprinkler of St. Louis. If you look, it does indicate they operate out of St. Peters. However, after doing a bunch of research, I was pretty sold on this company. They had great reviews, informative video and appeared to be great. My goal is always to support a local brand and a family ownership appealed to me. Honestly planned to just get an estimate and was going to move forward. After calling, I was asked for my address and upon giving it to them, was told Oh, we dont go that far, but thanks for checking with us. I was actually so taken back I didnt know really what to say. We live in Olivette, near Dielman Rd and Old Bonhomme, so a stones throw from Ladue. Its about 1/10 mile to the Ladue/Olivette line. Mind you, on nearly 1/2 an acre which is why we want a system. Confused by the response, I went back to the website to verify the areas served and find it really ironic that while they list some specific outlying areas along with St. Louis County, they specifically list Ladue. Heres is exactly what the website says; We serve St. Peters, St. Charles, OFallon, Lake St. Louis, Wentzville, Chesterfield, Ballwin, Manchester, St. Louis, Ladue, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County. So I guess the lesson learned here, is with this company not only is the grass greener, but obviously so is some peoples money. Super disappointing, but I guess it saved me years of begging for them to take my money.

Well just for putting a bad review on metro I received from Nick Ferguson a Facebook message saying, Pretty sure you are not a customer not have you ever used Metro s Services. Please take the review down. This is not the route you wanna go. I know who you are, where you are, and who you are related to. Last chance. Hope that s review enough for you.

I did my project with Metro Lawn Sprinkler Systems last spring and I am still very happy to see what they did. They put irrigation system in place and adjusted it exactly as my lot needed. In addition we did few french drains to take care of excessive rain water I have. And finally, these guys did an amazing landscape design and construction for the front yard retaining wall and backyard flower beds. All the projects were done from the scratch and in full including the selection of flowers and trees to plant. I am very picky in this sort of things, but Tim Nichols, who was managing the project from the very scratch to the end - did AMAZING job!!! All the staff visiting our site to do their part of job were always on-time and professional. I am 100% recommending this company for your projects!

Metro Lawn installed a sprinkler system for us in October of 2015. We have had them back each year since then for spring activation, back flow testing, and winterization. Their work is always excellent--they are always on time and very professional. We have not had any problems with our system since the installation. I recommend them highly.

Having just moved to the LSL area, we weren t familiar with the irrigation system, and pumping water from lake to water the grass. We signed up for their service agreement for them to activate the system in the Spring. Metro then came out in the fall winterize the system. Guy explained everything and did a professional job!

New home needed irrigation from August heat and levels of difficulty to water! Very quickly and efficiently installed the system with spring discounts! I have had our sprinkler system for 3years and have had the system serviced by Metro each year. They are easy to work with and are efficient in servicing for both the Spring and Fall .

Had irrigation system put in 2 years this Jan. along with their lawn fertilizer program and winterization and spring setup, along with seeding and aeration in the fall. Our yard looks great. I never would have believed it. I have had lawn programs before, but Metro along with the irrigation is by far the Best we have had. Thanks Metro.

Metro installed my system about 5 years ago. They did a 10 zone system in about half a day. After they left, I couldnt see a mark in the yard. Since install, I have used them for both maintenance of the irrigation system as well as Fertilization, Weed Control and Aeration. They are a quality service provider all around.

These guys must be swimming in business, because each of the three times Ive needed to schedule an appointment, Ive had to call a minimum of three times and leave three different messages per appointment. Only after complaining to the nice lady that answered the phone on the third call of each round was I able to get a call back from the guy who handles their installations. On top of that. they sent me a Past Due notice for a bill I paid day-of-service. The work quality seems to be fine. But unless you have tons of free time to track this company down, Id go with a company that actually appreciates your business.

This is the easiest company to work with. The prices are fair and the work gets done on time.

Metro installed our current sprinkler system at 2114 Hannah Dr. The job they did was both professional and friendly. They have serviced our system for the last several years and we are 100 percent satisfied with their work. In addition when we had a water line leak they came out quickly to determine that their system did not cause the leak.

Update 5-20-15: I called Metro to set up time for the backflow test. They were here promptly, handled all the paperwork and had the job done before I even knew they were here. When we were getting ready to close on our new home, I knew that I wanted an irrigation system installed. After getting several bids for the project, I went with Metro due to their reputation and general proximity to our area. You will find some companies who can give you a cheaper bid, but I found Metro to be quite competitive when compared to the other top companies. We complicated things a bit because Metro had to deal with newly laid sod, additional landscaping being completed, and a fence being installed. Throughout the entire process, everyone at Metro was professional and easy to work with. Overall, we were quite pleased.

From the day Nick came to give us the bid for the irrigation system to the payment in full working with this company was great. We had several bids & theirs was right on. It took a few weeks to get our system installed but that was our fault because we waited till the season was going strong & the wait time was reasonable. The installers obviously knew their jobs because they did it well. We had knew sod & the lawn still looked good. Once the job was done the foreman gave us a great 101 on our system from why, when & exactly how to. We never had any thoughts that they were going to be there for us after the job was done. We look forward to a long relationship with this company & really liked that they were local.

I phoned Metro to schedule a consultation appointment with Nick on a recommendation from a fellow coworker. Within 30 days from that meeting, an irrigation system was installed, a drain system was dug to help with erosion and an area along the back yard was cleared and mulched. All of that work was completed within two days. The crew did not mind me taking pictures and answering my questions of the work in progress. My husband and I were very pleased with the outcome of all the work that was done, so we also signed up for their Lawn Service Agreement. Once again, all my questions that I had about lawn care were answered, and the yard looks great. We would gladly recommend this company.

We had a system installed late in the 2014 season and couldnt be happier with the work. We were expecting the yard to be ripped to shreds, but thats not the case. You can barely see where the lines were ran and by spring they should be completely invisible. When it comes to the staff, everyone was very knowledgeable. We had a thorough walk through of how the system works and now know how to control it on our own. Winterization was included with our installation package, and it was super simple. Looking forward to reactivating the system this spring and having a beautiful yard this year!

Quick and responsive! I called and asked them to do winterization because temperature would drop below 30F that night. They came in the afternoon and finished the job on the same day.

I looked at many sprinkler companies and got many bids. This company wasnt the cheapest of the bids, but I got a good vibe from them when they came out. They seemed to know what they were doing and seemed extremely professional so I decided to give the job to them...and I am SOOO glad I did. They came out when they said they would and completed the job to our satisfaction. However, after they left, we realized that they had installed the main line outside of our property line (they simply had placed it exactly where we told them and it was our mistake, not theirs). I called them expecting to have to pay significant dollars (especially since we had signed a completion bill that confirmed we were good with the property line). They came out and spent an entire day, with 4 workers, reinstalling the system and moving it to within our property line. Although they did say they normally charge for this, they waived the cost. I felt horrible, but I have referred them to SEVERAL friends because of their solid customer service. Im sure theyve made more because of my referrals than what I would have paid them to redo it - a win win for everyone. In this day and age, this almost never happens. This company is the textbook example of good customer service and the more business I can get for them, the better. They deserve it. Use them and you wont be disappointed! This company is terrible. They dont know the first thing about customer service and come to find out after having the worst experience ever on the phone with Patty she is the owner of the company. Way to set an example. We have been a service customer for a couple years and this last year our experience was so bad that we asked the tech to leave and I hired another contractor at my expense. Maybe a company drug policy and background check would help. They claim to be the largest family owned landscape and irrigation company in the midwest which is blatant false advertising. There are a ton of bigger but most importantly better companies around the area not to mention the midwest. As an attorney I would love to take this to court but dont have the time to waste and nothing to gain. I would suggest anyone look elsewhere when considering a lawn/irrigation/landscape contractor.

If you have never had an underground sprinkler system, I strongly suggest that you consider Metro! They installed my system 3 years ago and it has performed flawlessly from the start. I received bids from other companies in the area but Metro was not only comparably priced but took the time to understand my irrigation needs and tailored the installation appropriately. I have also appreciated their yearly maintenance service--start up and shut down spring and fall. Not having experience in this area, I especially appreciated this service. In the Spring, they conduct tests and confirm that the sprinkler heads are properly adjusted and in the fall they turn the system off and blow the water out of the lines so they dont freeze in the winter.
