Top Green in St Paul

Called them out for our irrigation system, which is from the 1990s. They replaced a bunch of sprinkler heads but when I pointed out the valves were leaking (of course they did not at the moment they were there!) they had no solutions. I asked that when they left, my system would be in good order. Well the valves started leaking almost right away and all summer I had to putz with them, as well as the heads they put in. They did not adjust the heads well and I had to teach myself how to do that. We needed a complete overhaul and instead of saying they don't do that, they just talked around the issue and left. Apparently they are very limited in what they can do in residential irrigation. Wish I had known. I also asked if they gave any discounts for veterans. I am a disabled vet. Their response was a snarky, "No. Our prices are already below industry standard." Just say no and end it. No need to be snarky.

I’m not sure which friend of a friend recommended Top Green for our landscaping dream. From the very first time we reached out to KIRK we were responded to in a timely manner (quick) and set up a come-see shortly after that. My spouse had the dream and began the excruciating process of getting the HOA to grant our request. The entire time the back and forth with KIRK there was never a hurry up or put off attitude. After finally getting the HOA to say OK he came out again and walked the project through with my wife. I will stop talking here and say we are very pleased with the job, the crew, with Top Green. I hope this review gets posted, not familiar with how to do it but here goes. Nick and Kirk came out within a day of getting back to me after I contacted them about a sprinkler system that was leaking big time. They replaced three valves and four sprinkler heads. After replacing the leaking valves, they checked every zone and head to make certain all was working as it should, and then reprogrammed the controller. Their service was excellent, they arrived when they said they would, and after having to dig up the casing that housed the valves, they replaced all the dirt and sod, making it look like they'd never even been there. Top Green now sits at the top of my list for irrigation system maintenance and repair! I'll most definitely call on them again. Give them a try. I think you'll agree!

Kirk and Nic did an awesome job with installing our irrigation! They were able to give us an estimate the Friday before Labor Day Weekend, and installed our irrigation before a week had gone by (even with the holiday weekend in there). They are friendly, honest and hardworking - they were able to salvage some of our existing irrigation (we had new septic put in that ripped up the majority of what we had, but there was some that was still functioning), and this resulted in a lower price than what they had bid. They did minimal damage to our lawn and the installation itself took less than 1.5 days. I highly recommend getting the smart control panel - you can control the system from your phone, and it 'talks' to numerous weather stations to save on watering if rain is expected. I definitely recommend Top Green for any of your irrigation needs.

I needed a blowout at a good value and these guys delivered. They showed up exactly when they said they would and took care of everything. I will call them again next year.

Contracted Top Green in 2017 to tear out old landscaping and replace with new plants and rock. At first, quote seemed fair for one week of work. Nearly three week later, project was finally completed after I reduced scope of work and completed myself. In the process, discovered they over estimated amount of rock required by several yards / hundreds of dollars. When done they admitted they did not install my drip irrigation correctly and would not warranty the plants they installed - my bad for not asking before I signed contact. They held true to their word, nearly a dozen of their expertly selected and installed plants died costing me hundreds of dollars to replace. Attempt to seek some sort of warranty has gone unanswered. If you select Top Green, you will be pleased with their personality and demeanor. Just be sure to lock them into a timeline, see a detailed line item quote that you should shop around, and ensure they give you a 1 year warranty in writing on all trees, shrubs and perennials. If you do, I am sure you will be pleased.

Had some minor issues with our irrigation system and called Top Green to come out and look at it based on our prior experience with them. Kurt scheduled a time that was convenient to our schedules and showed up right on time. He fixed all issues with the system in a timely manner and was right there to explain what he was doing and was able to price the parts and labor on the spot. Top Green is the only company I will call to work on our system and highly recommend them for any service that they provide.
