I purchased a new mower and have had it serviced it through this business. Everything was fine until I needed a part. I gave them the model number of the mower, so they could order the correct part, and the part I received is incorrect. Guess who is on the hook for over $300 bucks, because they don't take responsibility for the error, Me! They have a policy of not accepting returns on a specialty part, but here's the thing, I called them for the correct part and I received the incorrect one and I'm out of pocket for it. Even their distributor said they would take the part back (including a 20% restock fee), but I was never offered the opportunity from Mid County. I explained how that there could be an issue with the part number supplied by the manufacturer; because I don't think it's Mid County's fault; but there was zero accountability or customer service. I'll never come back here again, which is disappointing.
We have done business with Mid County for over 20 years, were good customers, and were always pleased…until recently. We had our mower picked up in February for servicing to get ready for spring. It was running fine when they took it. Months later, after numerous inquiries about the progress of the service that should have taken a week or two, we were told that they were waiting for a part. We weren’t sure what it needed because it had been in good running condition. We were finally told, months later, that the mower couldn’t be found! They lost the lawnmower. Michigan law states that a business must provide due diligence with a customer’s property and must replace said property if it is lost or stolen. So we should have been given a new mower at no cost. However, after much discussion with the owner (she said that our attorney didn’t know what he was talking about), we said that we were willing to pay the amount that the servicing would have been for the mower we had given them. (Oddly enough, they did have a billing statement with repairs listed already prepared for our lost mower. Hmmm!) The owner finally agreed but told us that SHE WOULD NO LONGER DO BUSINESS WITH US … as if WE had done something wrong! We were shocked, amazed, and insulted by the attitude. We decided that we really didn’t want to deal with a business that treats good, long time customers in this fashion. Very unfortunate and shame on them.
Friendly staff, quick and affordable. They got my zero turn front tire mounted for me in a few hours and for a lot cheaper than i expected. Everyone was friendly and smiling, engaging with customers as soon as they walked in the door. I just went back to have my mower blades sharpened. Glad i found this place!

About once a year I need help from Mid County Lawn. Leaf blower, chain saw, weed eater. And everytime I get great service and advice. So I keep going back.

My older, 2-stroke Toro snowblower wouldnt turn over. Mid County folks got it tuned-up and replaced the primer bulb. I got the snowblower back in under 24 hours, just before a major snow.
I almost always right positive reviews, but thought this might be helpful for others. We used to love Mid County -- weve purchased multiple products from them because we appreciate their knowledge and helpfulness. However, I definitely would NOT recommend them for maintenance and repair. Theyve had our snowblower since mid-October for a tune-up (it is currently the end of January). They are waiting on parts, but as we told them multiple times over several calls, wed be happy to take the snowblower back as is because it functioned very well for us as is all last season. We understand the supply chain issues this last few years, we just want out blower back as it was when we gave it to them . . . but we still dont have it . . . 3 1/2 months later.

I am a longtime customer here with many equipment purchases over the years. Have been a satisfied customer until today. I had my snowblower in for a possible warranty repair with a request to be contacted if any recommended repair was not covered. I received a call say it was ready to be picked up and that they had replaced the carburetor and that it would be $180. I was never contacted prior to the repair despite this being documented on the service ticket. They told me it was not covered due to the gas used containing ethanol. I showed them in the manual that the fuel used was completely in line with the manufacturer s specifications, but they would not offer to cover any of the repair. I will take my future business elsewhere.
They had the part I needed for my snow thrower when no other local place had it. Helpful and courteous.

I normally dont take the time to write a review, but I was so disappointed with the most recent service that I had to share this experience. I recently dropped my zero turn off to have the hydraulic fluid and filters, replaced along with a oil change and valve adjustment done. Up until today I was always happy with mid county. I bought the mower there and a couple saws from them. The sales staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. The service department on the other hand really let me down with this one. When I picked up the mower it had oil residue all over, clearly from valve adjustment job. Oil was on the muffler and all over the motor. When I checked the oil it was barely on the dipstick. The hydro oil was over filled and was able to leak out of the cap once at operating temp. I dont think I should have to add oil and spend 20 mins wiping up oil after I paid for a service. Now Im concerned about the quality of work if they couldnt even wipe up after themselves.

As a loyal Mid-County customer just having my Stihl blower and weed trimmer serviced and last weekend buying a new Stihl chain saw, I was dumbfounded at the counter service I encountered today. The feed head on the grass trimmer isnt feeding correctly. I was told to rev the engine up. Thats all. Not a offer to inspect the feed head or another solution to this problem. I have always had excellent service from the counter and service techs but this experience left a sour taste for me.

First time customer and it was a great experience! John took my stihl ms260 and replaced a worn sprocket chain and bar. While I waited another man arrived with questions about his weed trimmer. Heather not only answered all of his questions but showed him how to keep it operating at its best. Both John and Heather went above and beyond in customer service. Thanks again!
I took my backpack blower in for repairs. I was told it would take four weeks. After eight and a half weeks it was still not repaired, I took it home and googled the symptoms and had it running in 20 minutes. They are happy to sell you a product but heaven help you if you need a repair.

Im glad we went to Mid County Lawn and Garden to find our mower. We decided on a Toro MX 4200. My husband dealt with them for years when he worked for a municipality and ran the parks department there. My point being, we already have a trusted relationship between us and we are comforted by that.

Mid county is a great place to go for your parts or new equipment needs. The employees are very knowledgeable and willing to help. They also offer repair services.
Pray that your equipment never needs service. My mower was returned in worse shape than I left it and it was going to be another $70 labor charge to fix what worked fine when I dropped it off. This after keeping it almost 3 months because they had to order parts, which are available on Amazon with free 2 day shipping. They do not call back after promising to do so and they act annoyed by your business when you call them. Expect the very minimum effort in all of your dealings with them, from the front counter to the mechanic. Maybe they are better with big accounts, but if you are just a home owner, they dont have time for you.

Hot/cold BAD attitude. High prices. DJ is honest/pleasant employee. But, just because owner can charge $50.00 for 10 minute service call, doesnt make it smart. Toro should be embarrassed.
