Ehlinger Lawn Service Inc in St Joseph

I have never used this service but the lack of respect for neighbors of people who do is why I’m writing this review. On 9/4 about 9:45 am, an employee pulled up with their truck and trailer. Not only blocking my mail box but another neighbors. Blocking mailboxes prevents people from receiving their mail. Some receive important things in the mail like their medications, paychecks, medical equipment and others. This is unacceptable practice and I hope they talk to their employees and explain this to them.

I paid for seasonal snow removal for Winter ‘23-‘24. We had a couple times where it snowed over an inch and they came (which took less than a minute for half of a small driveway.) When we got the only real snowstorm that came in March, over the 4 days it snowed, they never came once. I called and asked if the season had ended and they said someone should have come and cleared all the snow but unfortunately they hadn’t because on the last day of the snowfall I cleared it all myself. The lady on the phone said she would ask about a refund and give me a call back. That call never came. I paid over $500 for a few minutes of their service this winter and when the only real snow accumulation came, Ehlinger failed to do what they were paid to do. Would not recommend at this time.

We have a seasonal snow plowing contract with Ehlinger, we've had it for four or five years. Normally, they do a pretty good job but this year alone, I've had to call twice to get my driveway cleared. (and it's only the first week of January.) It's kind of disheartening to see two of my neighbors get theirs cleared way before ours gets done. This last snow event, I called around 10 am to let them know I had to be to work at 1:00. I ended up having to blast thru a 3 foot snowbank so I could get to work. Both neighbors had their driveways cleared hours before.

I'm using Ehlinger for snow removal this season. I have not regretted my decision to hire it out at all!

Updating my review. The prior miscommunication issue was resolved, and as a result of that interaction and the many favorable reviews I heard prior, I was happy to book both the spring clean up and a seasonal care package. The clean up happened today and my yard is SPOTLESS! Not an easy feat in a yard with 15+ mature oak trees. I am so happy and cannot wait to see how great my lawn looks after a full season of care.

Go somewhere else. One of them chipped my car windshield (it was parked facing the garage uphill) and no one came forward. Criminals as far as I'm concerned. I know it was them beyond any reasonable doubt. Oh, and be glad you're not in a neighborhood where they park in front of your house to do the whole neighborhood so you literally have to listen to them drive back and forth all day long starting and stopping their machinery. Directly in front of your house. No class. Seriously do call someone else. Your neighbors will thank you. Your car will be safe.

This spring we scheduled a fertilizer package with Ehlinger lawn services and paid $265.50. Soon after we got a snow storm and just decided wife and I would do the cleanup ourselves and canceled. No problems to cancel and I should receive a refund in 3 weeks....it has been almost 10 weeks and multiple times we have contacted them. They don't returned emails or phone calls. Which makes no sense that a company that has been around would do this for $265.50. I do not recommend dishonest people or companies.

I wish I could leave zero stars! I don't use their service but my neighbor does. They snowblow at all times of night. They showed up at my neighbors house at 11:15 PM on a Sunday. I called the company and they would not work with me at all. They said that they can't control mother nature and have to clear the snow when it falls but it had quit snowing 4 hours before they showed up at my neighbors house. The lady I spoke with on the phone also informed me that they are in and out very quick but there has been a tractor running outside of my home for over 30 minutes now after it took 10 minutes to clear my neighbors driveway. And on top of all of that I could do a better job in about the same amount of time with just my shovel.
