We've used TruGreen for about 2 years now. Large areas of our lawn are now dead. The guy came by yesterday and said it was because it needed to be aerated, and also said that our lawn was supposed to get aerated by them every 6 months. They've never done it that I know of. He also said all their outside workers quit last week, so they only have one or two do all their customers. Says something pretty negative about the management there.
Very happy with the TrueGreen desert landscape service. Our yards are virtually weed free, and the service schedule is taken care of by TrueGreen, so I don’t have to worry about scheduling. Our landscape has never looked so good.
They Moved the Goal Post! I first replied to an ad form a social media platform about a seasonal discount, they then called me and were very rude. They wouldn't share any contact info for my local TruGreen location, as I wanted to reach out to a local branch.I’ve never been a fan of automated phone systems. They are impersonal and lend themselves to poor service for the consumer. Proof in point is the experience I've had thus far. Shortly afterward a local Branch Sales Manager emailed me and offered a discount if I wanted to try the service for a month. It included several services I thought would be valuable. So, I agreed to pay for one month to see how it went. They then charged my credit card for any entire years’ worth of services. That forced me to call in and request a refund for the over charges. Still anticipating the services, I was promised for that one month I had paid for, no one came to fulfill and execute the services sold to me. I attempted to call the local Branch Sales Manager several time since my experience. It's been 4 months of leaving periodic messages and still no reply. I don't know where to turn so I'm submitting a review to see if that will inspire some follow thru and some service with the sale. It's a classic bait and switch if I don't say so myself. Note: I feel duped now that I've read other customers reviews on here.
Our front yard had so much improvement with the grass and trees with TruGreen. The previous owners appeared to not have any fertilizing with the grass trees and shrubs.
Absolutely the worst company I have ever done business with. Their technicians are untrained and have no idea of how to take care of lawns or how to apply products. Their customer service is pathetic, they don't follow up and don't keep their word. After 5 years of Tru Green servicing my lawn, my once thriving lawn is thin, has bare spots and full of weeds. Don't waste your money
The driver was very nice and helpful. There are no local numbers to call, well there is one but you automatically end at their customer service which is i the Caribbean. They will take your complaint, make you feel better but the message never gets to the local driver. I have a weed in my grass, that’s why I hired them and paid in advance. I have more dandelions and this weed than ever. I was given a number of a local supervisor by the driver, I called 2 days ago, still waiting for the return call
Mark was the best. Came to the door talked with me explained what he is doing. I asked for trees but they only do up 20 feet. That’s ok I have a big yard.

2024 has been a very different experience. I have had dormant oils sprayed on my trees and bushes and I just recently had ferterilizer applied to my trees and bushes. They came when they said they were coming and they called to ask me to unlock the gate for their arrival. 100% turnaround since my one star a year ago.
The prices were just too much for how little service we got, so we decided to cancel. We had been set up on autopay, so even though we cancelled, they charged us again for a year! THEN they sent us to collections claiming we didnt pay anything even though I can prove they charged us without our permission! We were charged even though we have not had any service performed on our house in over 4 months. Not only am I contacting a lawyer, but I encourage anyone else that has the same problem to contact legal services and stick up for yourself! Dont let this company bully you into paying for services that you DID NOT GET! If we keep letting these companies get away with this, they will keep doing it.

It took a couple weeks of phone calls, misinformation and visits. Finally today a weed specialist (Jacob) came out and applied weed control! Hopefully all the problems with my account have been resolved! The 800 numbers need to be fixed ! Called about 5 times to different 800 numbers and no one told me the truth!
Travon was friendly, professional and took the time to explain what he was doing. I anticipated weed control application but he explained thats another truck and visit. I thought it was fertilized and weed control application in one visit.
Jacob was very helpful and insightful and even moved a large toad out of my backyard before spraying!
Again they come to my house and say my gate is locked and it s not so they leave. Every scheduled visit this happens and I have to reschedule. Can t talk to a local person. I don t even have them trying my gate because I have cameras. This is ridiculous. Then they bill me. I m tired of the lack of customer service. Rescheduled again. Update on my service. So I called and rescheduled for the next day and guess what??? No show. No call. Nothing. I even got a response from the owner on my first review for my information so they could reach out. Guess what?? Nothing. No response no call. Typical. This is so ridiculously sad. Next step. Canceling service.

Boooo! Trugreen has been spraying our weeds for a few years now. They came out and sprayed what was supposed to be a pre-emergent. The weeds on my property are up to my hip. Trying to get through to anyone local is impossible. I finally had the local manager reach out. She assured me the tech would be coming to my house the next day and spraying. I stayed home all day and he never showed. For the money that we have spent with this company, you would imagine our property would look decent. We are in contact with a local company that actually answers the phone when you call. I have heard that this company has a habit of continuing to bill your card after you cancel, so I went ahead and notified my card company that if they try to take any money off, it is fraud. Stopping business with this company was the best choice for us and I highly suggest doing your research if you are considering hiring them. All of these negative reviews are not wrong. Only wish I figured it out earlier.

MJ lied to me about the services that would be provided. The price was too high for what I actually received. I told her I needed two small trees and a bush trimmed, along with weeding including removal. I had someone show up for about 30 minutes and spray some weeds. All for the special discounted low low price of $270.

No service was performed. The Specialist submitted paperwork that said he performed the application of weed control chemicals to my property. Both submissions, on 3/23 and 3/26 were false. He did not do the work. There were no footprints in the DG of my property. And the paperwork on both cases said he and I had a conversation. A total lie. I ve called the customer service call centers several times and they say they will have the service rescheduled. At this point of time I am not sure it will be done. I am working on getting the contact information of Tru Green s President and CEO to get him involved. Now I see why you cannot call the Sparks, NV office directly.
I purchased a package of 4 applications last year for a one-time payment up front. There was no issue with that but I came out of the house a few days ago and found a bill hanging on the door saying they had done a pre-emergent and sprayed the existing weeds. Apparently they signed me up without my consent on an annual automatic renewal plan. I did not ask for any service this year and had no intentions of doing so. There are already weeds knee-high so a pre-emergent is several weeks too late anyway. When I called their office the lady I spoke with only wanted to give me a discount and keep me on a multiple application plan. She flatly refused to refund what they just charged me for a service I did not ask for and did not want.
Tried, scheduled twice, didnt show up twice. Waited all day both times. Done with True Green. Moving on to local service. Even spoke to a manager who set up second time. Cant recommend there service.
I paid for 6 treatments they came out 1 time for 10 minutes. They canceled and rescheduled for 2 months and never came back. I called several times with no response. I would give zero stars if possible do not hire them.
This company is the worst, the spend like 2 minutes in your yard and claim they did a thorough job. I fired them about 2 months ago and today, I got not 1, but 2 sales calls from TruGreen, after I told the first call, to NEVER CALL ME AGAIN, stay away for these people, theyre all shysters...
The name of the company is TruGreen Lawn Care but their services are very limited. They dont mow or do any true caring for the lawn except spray chemicals. If you are looking for a lawn care service this is not it. They only spray for bugs and weeds to my understanding.
DO NOT USE TRUGREEN IN NEVADA!!!! The Sparks location especially. Made the appointment. They came out. Sarah and a guy. They were here for a total seven minutes. Four of those minutes they said outside of the truck. Then they left. They were to perform pre AND post emergent treatment to my 1500 sf hills and rocks front, success and back yards. You cant even walk the perimeter of the hills and rocks and ditch in seven minutes let alone spray and lay emergent services. My personal rep has ghosted me. Ive not heard back from her at all to my voicemails, texts and emails. I did hear from a review rep after giving a 1 star review. He was great. In Missouri. Put in an escalated ticket for then to come back out asap. That was a week ago. Still havent heard anything. I had to cancel my cc so they couldnt charge me. The Nevada offices are scams to get auto paid without doing any work. Next stop:. BBB and Yelp.
They started out great but the customer service has really gone downhill. You do not get the local office when you call the local number like you used to and the people answering the calls are all over the country and do not have knowledge of all the services offered in all areas. I called 3 times earlier this year to have them come do the weed control service. When I 1st called I was told it was going to be done on a certain day but no show. They finally came after a month and 3 calls. I still had weeds after 3 weeks and called again. They came out while I was out of town (which I told them not to come during that time) and did the incorrect re-service, it was on the lawn not the weed control (desertscape) that was requested. Unfortunately we have had to pull some of the weeds because it was getting out of control. I called them again 2 weeks ago for a re-service, I was told they would put in an expedited request, they have still not shown up or called.
For years we had amazing service but recently they did not show up, even after calling to say they will be here on a specific day. For 20+ years I have had no weeds but this year I m not convinced they spray when they are here. I have weeds every where. To top it off, I called this morning and they said they would return my call in 3 minutes - 50 minutes later still no return call.
Service has gone down hill over time. We are constantly picking weeds despite multiple calls for extra sprays.
They performed a service that I did not request. I requested an advisor to evaluate trouble spots on the lawn and provide a solution. A new employee showed up, who could barely find the house even though the address is posted on two sides and they were using a GPS. Then somebody shows up 4 days later to do a thatching service which I did not request, nor did they give me prior notice that they would be coming. I know they can do a great service for my lawn, but they lack communication from the customer to the field staff.

I enrolled in there lawn care plan and couldnt be more upset with the service they provided. I tried calling the business because the Rep we signed up with wouldnt return our calls or text messages. I had to wait 3 days for someone to call me back. That is just the beginning. We were put on the back burner because our Tech got fired. I hired them because we just bought our first house and I had a few dead patches in my lawn. I was very specific on what I wanted them to address. I was concerned that I was getting a very generic service so I decided to seed the grass myself. When our tech came out he mentioned how I seeded the grass to my wife. Afterwards he applied a fertilizer and another application that would kill all new growth including any chance I had of new grass growing. I am still shocked at this to say the least. Now to the Cherry on the top. My pavers are completely burned by the fertilizer and look horrible. I am sure that our vegetable garden is ruined but dont know at this point. VERY UPSET!!! I paid for this? PLEASE dont even consider this company. I wish you could see the picture better.

The actual service wasnt the problem but I cancelled, at this time, for personal reasons. The gal I canceled with last week was wonderful and didnt hassle me at all. They had someone call and follow up with me today to find out why I cancelled. No problem there but they literally asked Whats going on? in a tone that was more like Whats the deal? - He was annoyed before he even started the conversation. When I explained that there was nothing wrong with the services performed but I opted to cancel (for personal reasons), he literally went silent and then disconnected the call. This kind of rude behavior will keep me from EVER returning should I require these kinds of services in the future. This is not how you conduct a proper follow up call if you ever have the hope of winning a customer back. That guy needs training or another job. A few years ago, with a local company, when I cancelled with them because I was moving, they were very polite about it and didnt hassle me. They remained professional. I think Ill go back to them when Im ready.
Terrible customer service. So glad I didnt do the pre pay service for $780!!!!. Couldnt even get them to my house for a 1st service. Despite speaking to James the office sales manager and leaving numerous messages. If you are looking for dependable lawn care and weed control definately look elsewhere.

Their programs and products work. Customer service sucks! Unless you know a tech on a personal level. 1-800 corporate call center customer service is a bunch of b.s... sales people are bad with expectations... corporate type of service.. no passion. Id give 2 stars... Only reason I give 3 stars is in this industry not many people go out their way to write a good review... usually only review when something piss3s them off! Their programs do work.

A Trugreen rep came to my house yesterday to offer their services, I let him know I appreciated his time but I couldn t financially have a lawn service at this time. He not only became very rude towards me and I had to shut the door on him but then he proceeded to break my LED globe lights around my walk way that I can not financially afford to replace. So not only would I love to give this company 0 stars, I also will NEVER be supporting this business and will make dang sure that everyone I come into contact with (being a hairstylist, that s a good amount of people) will never be supporting this company either. This company and rep is very lucky I m not pressing charges for damaging my property.
What a joke this salesman comes out to help us fiqure out whats eating all of our trees, bushes, grass you name it we needed help bad. He spends maybe 20 minutes with my fiance and fills out paperwork for probably reasonable pricing I imagine. NOT once at all did he address what kind of bugs ( have found 5 different looking ones) or any real details about the treatment chemicals. You cannot look at the giant tree in my front yard and not see the damage all over form the bark to the leaves how do you not offer any knowledge about bugs when ALL you do is BUGS. Im in sales and Ive noiticed it helps if I know things about my serivce. JOKE idiot named Farukh.
Absolutely abysmal service. They call at 8pm at night looking for payment. They don t give the customer a means of renewing online. Impossible to cancel service. They don t read the online customer feedback forms. They don t give you a means of emailing for communication. Just simply terrible customer service.
What a waste of money! We were left a flyer on our door about TruGreen Lawn Care and since we had weeds, I called them. They were nice on the phone until l paid for a years worth of service up-front. I scheduled a time for them to come out. I waited. They didnt show. Then I called only to be transferred from pillar to post before I was told it was too windy the day the technician was scheduled and that they were coming out the following week. First, no one mentioned that if it was windy TruGreen wouldnt spray. Second, we were told how urgent it was to treat the lawn before the weeds could take hold so waiting longer to treat was compounding the problem. Finally, they showed up. I only know this because I saw the truck. I would have doubted they ever sprayed since the weeds were absolutely thriving! After 4 days I called TruGreen to cancel the service because of all of the hassles and the lawn full of weeds. I was told it would take up to 10 days for the weeds to die which I found odd since the technician told us three days. I canceled the service but was charged $55 for the visit which resulted in a yard full of weeds. We then went to Costco and bought weed killer. Dont use TruGreen, just buy some weed killer and/or fertilizer and youll get a much better result for a lot less money.

how does this company stay in business....horrible service policies...put my house up for sale in april 2016....sold the house june 2016 so i had my 50 year old daughter call and cancel our account with trugreen....she spoke to the office representative....never received a cancellation number from them....in june we pulled up in front of our house and there sits a trugreen serviceman sitting in his van..told him we cancelled earlier this month as he handed me a bill for $92.....told him my daughter called and cancelled....he said you have to cancel yourself and left....i paid the bill under protest....did not receive any assistance from fa-ruke the manager
Rated with one star because we were not treated respectfully by TruGreens General Manager, Kurt Matthews. We would NOT recommend this company. 1) We set-up 3 accounts 10 days ago and asked to be notified before treatment to be done as we wanted to meet the specialist and discuss the lawn issues. Our request was never relayed to the specialist. He showed us his paperwork and there was NOT a note regarding our request of calling first.We checked with the companys staff who take the calls and they read me what the first person documented when I ordered the service and my request was present. 2) They billed us without providing the service because they could not open the locked gates. Our reason for requesting calling first. We told the specialist when he came out again that we were billed and he said we should not have been. We refused the service that day because it was watering day. We asked to speak to a supervisor, hoping we could iron out the wrinkles, have a plan, and receive service. Lino, the specialist, gave us Kurt Matthews name and number. Mr. Matthews is the General Manager for Reno/Sparks Nevada area for TruGreen. Lino said he would leave him a message also. This was last Friday, Apr 10, so we waited until Monday and called Mr. Matthews and left our first message; we waited and no response. We called again Tuesday and no response. We called Wednesday and guess what: NO RESPONSE. Our accounts total would have been about $1400.00 for this season. We guess they do not need our business. TruGreen is a national company so we will try local businesses, which we should have done in the first place. TruGreen did come highly recommended by a family member. We are sorry we did not read the other review posted. It would have saved us a lot of frustration and time.
TRUGREEN has terrible customer service !!! They entered my property without permission and sprayed my organic garden without authorization. I have called them two days in a row and I have still not received anyone that can address this concern or tell me what was sprayed and on which trees and plants. Why would you use a company when you cannot speak to someone locally..Disgusted and violated by a terrible terrible company. DO NOT USE TRUGREEN! I have filed a police report for trespassing. This company should not be in business.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!!!!!! Not 1 NO CALL, NO SHOW......NOT 2 NO CALL, NO SHOWS, BUT TONIGHT IS THE THIRD!! I should have known better than to give in to a second try with this company when last years service was a fiasco as well! The new branch sales manager, who promised to baby sit our account has done nothing to improve our experiences with this so called company. We have received statements for services that are never carried out, and I have never received a personal phone call as requested (and promised) before services so I can make arrangements for my dogs to be put away. The list goes on and on. Just called the 1--800 number for the second time tonight, only to be told that they cannot get ahold of anyone in the field so they are not sure if anyone is still coming tonight. When I told the sales rep that I had plans tonight, she told me we could simply reschedule. Really???? You called ME with your automated service yesterday and told ME what day you would be here to service my horts, and now you are telling ME to reschedule?? Some nerve!!! Im telling you, this company will promise you the sun and the moon, but deliver you nothing!!! My bushes and my lawn are turning brown, and your guys have all gone home for the night? Not a good way to win back our business. I would imagine this company - certainly NOT a business, will be out of business soon! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!!
In February 2014 TruGreen performed a routine fertilization of an elderly friend of the family. She was gone on vacation and unaware this service was scheduled. This fertilization resulted in the majority of the lawn being damaged and dead. Upon her return she clearly upset and immediately contacted TruGreen, she was advised she would be contacted immediately. Remember this started in February and it is now May 15, to date nothing has been done to correct the issue. She has contacted the company on multiple occasion and twice was contacted by a representative who explained she would be contacted soon by her regional manager, again nothing has happened no contact has been made. She has been contacted by her HOA regarding the dead lawn and has tried without response to get assistance from a company that was happy to take her money but not correct their problem. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. Upon checking other reviews they consistently score a 1, with the same issue. DO NOT GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE SAME TO YOU. I also contacted TruGreen after learning she was attempting to rake the dead grass herself, this is an elderly women. I was told the regional manager was on vacation and that no one else could assist with this problem. We are taking care of it ourselves, as clearly TruGreen is unwilling to assist in anyway.
