After 7.5 years of a swamp yard we decide to hire someone to help us figure out a drainage solution. When I spoke to Mike he had such confidence that he understood the problem and had the solution. It was so refreshing and what we needed before taking plunge. The guys worked on a VERY hot day, got the job done, and cleaned up amazingly all in a days work. First few rainfalls since the project have been a breeze and hoping this really stops the need to wear rain boots in yard for weeks after a rainfall! Thanks guys!

We have know Mike for years - he does our snow removal. We didnt realize he had a landscaping business, so when our brick front steps nearly fell apart, Mike gave us a reasonable quote. Ive been at my current residence for over 30 years, and have dealt with a myriad of contractors. Dealing with Michael and his employees, was by far the most pleasant, professional, and results orientated experience I have ever had. The quality of the work was excellent, price points were fair, communication with the crew was not problematic at all. You got the feeling that they really cared about the project. No small detail was left undone. Massive square footage of pavers were taken out and reset, with a totally new border installed. The driveway, walkway and fire pit area look better than they did when they were originally installed!! Plus the integrity of the work is superior. Recently, (last week) Michael did a complete re-do of our 30 year existing landscape and we could not be happier with the results. Mike was very easy to work with, making good suggestions and quickly responding to phone calls and emails answering all of our questions. His friendly and exceptionally hard working six man crew completed our project in less than two days removing over three dump trucks of old landscaping and installing over 70 plants. Michaels Landscape Design provided us with a great service at a reasonable cost and we will enthusiastically recommend Mike to our friends and neighbors.

Mike recently completed a large excavation project for our ~1-acre property and did a great job. Our entire lot was overgrown with pachysandra, weeds, etc. and was a job many other landscapers were too timid to tackle. Not only did Mike s team excavate but regraded, re-seeded, and established new beds throughout the property providing welcomed design suggestions to tee up future phases for the yard we ll be sure to work with Nike again. We hired Michaels Landscape Design for a grading, drainage and patio project after our pool was installed. Working with Michael was an absolute pleasure. He was professional, responsive, and happy to answer our many questions. The crew was hard-working, friendly, and the entire team did a fantastic job. Our yard always had standing water after rain, so we were very concerned about drainage with the clay soil in Cherry Hill after we put in a pool. Michael was very experienced in this area and proposed a great solution which has been working incredibly well even during and after storms where we have inches of heavy rain. The difficulty of this project was compounded by the fact that our pool contractor didnt follow the engineers plan and the pool was placed almost a foot higher than it was supposed to be. So not only did Michael have to solve the additional drainage issues that resulted from that and prevent water from flowing right into our home, he needed to do so in a way that didnt make our yard look like a bizarre sloped mess. He came up with a solution that works incredibly well and also looks great. Our new patio is beautiful, the yard no longer has any standing water, and we couldnt be happier with the finished product. We highly recommend Michael and his team.

I am extremely happy with the hardscape patio Michaels Landscape Design completed for me. He started the project on the agreed upon date. Mike and his crew installed a French Drain between my deck and inground pool concrete deck. The pipes had to be installed under two sets of steps coming off the deck. Mike is the only contractor that said he could do it with out removing the steps. I was skeptical. Sure enough I watched as they did just that. The work was done in a timely fashion and very professional. His crew is very friendly and answered any questions I had. When the work was completed the cleanup was great. The only evidence that they were even here is the grate for the french drain basin in my yard. Completely Satisfied Customer

Mike quoted me for a job two months out, due to a large number of jobs in the area. He showed up a month earlier than expected, with his crew ready to work. They removed rocks and sand in a 30 x40 area in one day, and came back two days later to lay sod. They were fast, cleaned up after themselves, very courteous, and fair priced. I will call him again for any future landscape needs.

Mike came out to repair our landscaping after our sewer pipes needed emergency replacement. They were professional, friendly and our yard looks beautiful! Highly recommend!

Mike and team turned a backyard with a crumbling deck and 15 years of overgrown trees into a beautiful new outdoor living space. They executed the design perfectly and efficiently. Mike was on site every day to make sure we knew what was happening that day and to answer any questions that came up. His team of five, led by Santiago, worked more like a team of 10. Somehow they ripped out a 15 year old deck and the concrete underneath in one day. The new pavers and stone stairs went in just as quickly and the project was finished off with beautiful landscaping, mulch, and lighting. Mikes attention to detail was great. He asked for pictures of the lighting at night to make sure it was at the correct intensity and pointed in the right direction and made adjustments where needed. They cleaned up daily and when the project was over you would hardly have known there was major construction in the backyard. Would recommend them 100% to anyone looking do do a project, large or small.

They installed driveway apron pavers to widen my driveway by two feet on each side. The install was fast and professional with attention paid to the details. Mike and his crew were very knowledgeable and answered my questions as the installation progressed. I would highly recommend them for this type of work. We gave Mike a seemingly impossible deadline and he exceeded our expectations. We wanted to have a backyard wedding this fall but with material shortages and delays, we weren t hopeful that we would be able to put in a new patio before the big day. We hired Michaels to repair a section of grass destroyed by a previous landscaper during the installation of our patio. They did an amazing job removing the old grass, re-leveling the yard with new topsoil, and laying down fresh Sod. They also rewired our landscape lighting and did an amazing job with that too. I hired Michaels Landscape Design to eliminate drainage issues and fill-in a 28 ft. diameter area from an in-ground pool. Mike and his crew showed up and got right to work while Mike took the time to explain to me what would be happening throughout the day. His crew worked efficiently and neatly, and they even put the excess dirt in areas that needed it but werent part of the original project. The underground drainage system for three downspouts was completed with the original ground cover replaced. The yard looked clean and green when they were finished. I reached out to Michael s Landscape and Design to get his opinion on a multi aspect problem centered around poor drainage at the rear of my home. My five-year-old paver patio with a beautiful sitting wall was constantly filling with water and not draining properly. The surrounding lawn was also saturated with water. Mike Kent formulated a plan to add a drain on the patio and installed a 90 ft. drain line with grates in the grass to funnel surface water away from the property. He also tied in the downspouts to have that water removed by the drain line. I found that Mike was knowledgeable, professional and his pricing was reasonable. He had a very skilled crew that paid attention to detail. It is hard to find great contractors that you can trust to do the job right but Michael s Landscape and Design fits nicely into this category. I would not hesitate to have him do additional work.

Michael and his crew did an outstanding job on our patio. His crew removed our old uneven sinking patio and steps. The crew rebuilt our patio and steps using some of our existing pavers, which saved money. Mike addressed drainage issues on our property. Regrading areas and running gutters underground to a catch basin, topping it all off with beautiful bluegrass sod, and even edged around the existing trees near the patio. He predicted that his quote would be in the middle of the quotes I received which he was, but he was the one contractor who talked with me at length until he understood my vision for a patio and walkway. Michaels landscaping took my broken down patio and turned it into a place I want to spend my spare time relaxing! The owner operator showed up to my house and took as much time as I wanted to make sure he could build a patio for me that was exactly what I wanted. He is a man who prides himself in putting out the best quality work in the business. And he did exactly that with my finished product. His prices are the best: I didnt even have to shop for a better price as common sense told me this was fair. The price was below what I expected. Extremely happy with everything I paid for especially the respect I got from the door up until the finished product.

We contacted Michaels in late July regarding cleaning up of a 1/4 acre property of overgrown trees and out of control ivy. He responded immediately and scheduled a visit within a day. We knew this would be a major project by the oof he emitted after walking into the back yard. He was confident in his crews ability to make things perfect and despite an extremely busy schedule of jobs, promised an early September appointment. Sure enough, September rolls around and hes on the way! A professional looking crew led by Santiago arrived at 8am, five guys, four trucks, a big tractor, a shredder and lots of sharpened chain saws! A job that would take me a month and kill me was done by this crew with little sweat in half a day. Not only did they clear everything, they made everything look pretty including mulch and any extra cleanup necessary. We are already trying to decide on new plantings and creating a flower bed around a pool area and will definitely be calling Michaels back for the job.

I first called Mike out to come survey the situation with my backyard. It was in a rather sad, neglected state. The turf was riddled with ankle-breaking dips, water pooling near the house, dilapidated concrete, and a neglected garden. He spent almost an hour with me during the initial consult to lay out a game plan to tackle all of my areas of concern and wishes for improvement. I was impressed enough to award him the job over about 8 other local companies coming in to give solution plans & estimates. He was able to accommodate many of my particular choices to incorporate into the design prior to, and after breaking ground. His crew was able to work with a 3rd party contractors schedule to complete the job. The end result was a completely transformed backyard, with a gorgeous patio with seating wall, a graded yard and quality shed pad, accented with riverstone and a garden with some nice flora. Mike & crew are very good at what they do. He doesnt walk away from a job half-done. He also has a guarantee on his work, unlike many of the other companies and quotes I sought after. My biggest regret is that its now too cold to much enjoy the yard, and that we have to wait until spring to truly enjoy it all.

I hired Michaels Landscape Design to regrade a few areas around my foundation, as well as divert gutter drainage away from the house. Their crew also excavated, replaced and re-stoned the window wells around the foundation/basement windows. As Michael will tell you, hes not the cheapest, but he does quality work. For my gutter drainage, they used all solid wall PVC with accessible cleanouts that terminate at catch basins out in the yard or woods. This summer weve had a ton of rain and so far the system he installed has been working very well to route the water away from the house as it should. Michael has well laid out contracts and payment schedules, and does not cash a check until the work begins. The crew worked hard all day, and cleaned up after themselves. Definitely check him out for your landscaping and hardscaping needs!

Hired Mike to rebuild a retaining wall that had collapsed because the previous company didnt build it correctly. Mike and his team were professional throughout the whole process. They identified solutions to save on costs significantly, started the work on schedule, troubleshooted a few minor issues that arose during construction, and completed the work in less than a week. We recently hired Michaels Landscape Design to remove and replace an existing retaining wall.It was replaced with an EP Henry Cast Stone Wall. We removed a large shed from our front yard and it was a big mess. Basically a pit in the ground. Michaels Landscape Design filled it in and its just like the rest of the yard now. They also fixed the end of our stone driveway which had big puddles in it every time it rained. Our yard was also completely cleaned of leaves after the fall after hiring them again. Hey Mike I know its the end of May and your probably busy but can you fix my backyard before June 10? Sure Joe. Thanks for squeezing me in Mike! I know it was tough. Our backyard was very uneven and had a few holes in it. There were many bare spots and it obviously got muddy when it rained. We just wanted to level it out and clean it up a little before our sons backyard birthday party. But Mike and his team came out and did more than that. They improved the overall look and functionality of the backyard. They leveled the yard and installed sod. They put playground mulch under the play set, which I like a lot better than the grass or mud. It looks much better and provides a soft surface. I couldnt believe how fast they got the job done. They were in and out in less than a day. They were professional and courteous. They didnt leave until the area was clean. And Mike made sure to educate me on how to take care of the sod to ensure it stays nice. I highly recommend Michaels Landscaping to anyone looking for a competent and efficient team. Thanks again. After a previous contractor left me a nightmare of a backyard, full of tons of extra fill dirt from a septic system install. Mike came in and gave me a price I couldnt pass up. Him and his guys came out, and in one day, removed at least 10 dump trucks of extra fill dirt and left me wit a perfectly pitched and raked out backyard which I couldnt have been more pleased with. Everything we talked about was exactly on point. Top soil was brought in and seed was spread too. Stand up job. Very proffessional and super cool dude/workers. We had Mike and his crew clean up some debris from an old patio and prepare and seed our entire backyard as well as removing 2 mulch beds of vines in the front. He was very professional and his guys were completely done in one day. The grass is growing very well after only a week!

We contacted Michaels to construct an area in the backyard for a hot tub. Michael helped us design and create a terrific patio with edge wall and LED lighting off of our family room. The quality of workmanship is top notch. Their methods are the best. They dug deep, graded the area away from the house, put in a proper foundation of garden fabric, inches of rock fill, then sand, before starting to place pavers. I think the house will fall before this patio will shift. Built right and looks beautiful. We had previously called Michael to plant sod in the area behind our family room. We needed it done quickly, and he was able to accommodate our schedule, but still do the job right. We recommend Michaels without reservation!
