I had to fire the lawn care company that I had used for over 20 years; and needed to buy myself a new lawn mower. V & J Lawn Mower was wonderful to work with! I bought a cordless battery operated Stihl! (Because I DESERVE IT!) Beautiful and very, very clean showroom and workshop. Vince (the V) is charming. Peter processed my online order after I worked from their website the night before. Maria was delightful on the phone when zi called to see if my Stihl was ready to pick up. AND, look how good it looks in my Subaru Outback - room to spare! I will taking my snowblower there for servicing next week. Can't get it done too early to be ready for Chicago winter snow! I wish I had learned about V & J many years ago! I highly recommend them!
Hung up on me twice while I was in the middle of explaining my lawn mower issue. Just tell me you don’t want to fix it/are too busy at the moment or whatever the reason, but hanging up on a potential customer is ridiculous. I went to C & N Lawnmower Repair instead and they fixed my lawnmower same day!
Honda self propelled lawn mower I went to Ace Hardware store for repair and they send it here . Before I took the handle out and put it in a zip bag with all the screws and parts . After 3 weeks they told me they când find the parts that I need . I ask what is the part that they can’t find it . They did not know . I ask for a diagnostic because I paid for that . They send me an email saying that manager do not want to work on the machines because I took the parts out . I wanted to put back the handle myself and when I open the zip bag only a few pets in there . More than half are missing! Really?! Next time inform people if they open the machine that you will not even try to look what is the problem .
My brother and I have been patronizing this business for years. Last year I purchased a Stihl chainsaw and had a minor issue with it that was on me. I brought it in. Vince had it running in seconds. I can easily highly recommend V&J. They have exceptional customer service.

I had my first experience with these guys today. This is a real small business, who really understands how to work with customers. I had planned to have my snowblower serviced here, but in the end chose to purchase a new unit because their pricing was excellent (compared to online and big box store) and it just made more sense to retire the old unit. After purchasing, the owner was watching me struggling to get it into my car and just offered to deliver it to my house right away, as I lived not far from there. Will definitely be shopping here in the future.
I own a landscaping business myself and I have been a client of Vicente’s for years (as was my father for decades). The machines he sells are also good quality and priced fairlyThe landscape material they supply is reasonably priced. As for the small engine repair services, they’re always quick, responsive, and very helpful. Anytime I stop by (or my crew does) needing a quick fix to either an aerator, mower, or even trailer, the guys take care of it ASAP.

I do not know about their landscaping business or their equipment repair. I only visited their equipment showroom. Very impressive inventory when most others have nothing. They carry only the best brands: Echo, Stihl, RedMax, Wright, and Scag being the main ones. Vincent was extremely cordial and knowledgeable. But it is their inventory that sets them apart.

Have a Husqvarna lawn mower with all wheel drive that was not pulling well. I Found V and J online and took it in. The people were friendly and helpful. I mentioned the bag frame weld was cracked when dropong it off. They quoted a price and took it in. They found the drive belt and 2 of the 3 pullies sticking. They completed the work and when I picked it up they had even welded the bag frame! Price was as quoted! Thank you V and J !

Went here for lawn mower repair. First gentleman had little interest in my issue, however another man helped me out. Mower was fixed well in a reasonable amount of time. I would recommend.
Very helpful I had a question about my snow blower how to change the oil on it because it had no drain plug or dipstick the mechanic explained to me the proper way to change the oil on my snow blower if I know anyone that needs help with there lawn mower or snow blower lawn equipment I would recommend them to call or to v&j mower repair

I am extremely pleased with the customer service and timeliness of support from V&J. My new Toro Snow Blower required immediate service repair (as it is non-returnable item) and after being rudely turned down by another Toro Dealer in Northbrook , V&J not only repair it without issues, but also did it within 24 hours, so I was ready with a working machine for the heavy snow flow. This is the kind of service we all need. Great Job!

My old man used this place regularly for a long time, due to the selection in the area. He stopped coming here after he had a mower repaired. The part he had replaced failed a couple months later, so he took it back to get it fixed. He was asked for his receipt. Unfortunately he didn t have it, but asked if they could look it up in their system. He was told, that wasn t their job, and was out the part they had replaced. Terrible customer service. Much better place in the Skokie area you can find now.
