Wow, I have now used these guys three times.....always a great experience. Good knowledge of grading to help with basement water issues, courteous workers, easy to talk to and get the job done. I would use them again and again.

The proposal that Raul promised never came. This behavior is very identical to the bad reviews submitted through the years. He shows up but DOESNT DELIVER!!! Heres the pattern experienced by DISAPPOINTED reviewers including me: Raul checks out your property, seems to be interested in the job and tells you the proposal will be emailed in a few days. I NEVER received the proposal he promised. Text, email and voicemail messages were totally IGNORED. Its like the company shut down. It seems that if the cost of the project is on the high end, you will get the topnotch customer service you expect. Otherwise, dont hold your breath!!!

Raul did some good work for me in 2022. I tried to book him for more work in 2023 but he and his office are non responsive; repeated phone calls & emails. Perhaps his business is shutdown.

We needed our large backyard, alley-side lawn patches, and a dead bush in the front yard cleaned up on relatively short notice after 15 years of benign neglect. Almanza responded promptly (others didn t even respond to an initial inquiry, or begrudgingly said they d take a look at it but never did), came by to give a quote promptly, and got it done by the time we had requested. The work they did was superb, the workers were prompt and professional, and we were very pleased. We highly recommend them!

Raul and his crew completed our front and back walkways and a much wanted patio. His work is superb. His prices were below other proposals we received. We are looking forward to Rauls crew surrounding our new brick patio with some native plants this fall.

Raul and his crew replaced the overgrown hedges in front of our house, planted new trees and shrubs, pruned two large trees, and shaped the very tall hedges on either side of our yard. They also re-seeded our lawn where the previous owners had let the grass die out. They came when they said they would be there and worked diligently. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend R&G Almanza to anyone.

Raul came out to look at my backyard for some arborvitae installations. Was told I would receive an email with estimates the following day. I called and left a voice mail to follow up 2 days after his initial visit and still no response or estimate over a week later. Extremely unprofessional. If you cant service? Just say so.

We redid our entire backyard. It was a mess with an old chain link fence with trees grown into it, poor drainage, dead grass, and buckthorn trees everywhere. The cleaned out the entire yard, graded it, put down sod, drainage, and landscaping and a new fence. It looks amazing!! They are very professional and the owners were always checking on the project through out every step and checking in with me.

I hired R&G Almanza to do a spring cleaning and some small landscape work in 2022. I paid the deposit promptly and paid the balance immediately upon completion. I have time stamped VENMOs evidence. I was very happy with the work I agreed to use his weekly lawn cutting service as a result. Week 1, he came late and only after I called. Week 2, he didnt show up. I called, left voice mails and NEVER heard back. Just radio silence. I understand if he made the mistake in taking the job and then discovered he was overbooked. But...to not let me know what the heck is going on was unprofessional and wreaks of unreliability. He didnt have have the dignity to even apologize.

The crew from R & G Almanza Landscape were amazing! They arrived on time and cleaned up as they went along with the process of removing old trees and planting 10 new, 6 feet tall arborvitaes. They also answered all of my questions and gave me tips on how to care for the trees to ensure their success. I highly recommend R & G Almanza Landscape!

Raul and Raul Jr both helped with my fence and grass projects. Their team is good. They take responsibility. Lead the project and provided good service.. Price a little on the higher side, request for better price and they hook things up. Ahmad

Very pleased with the crews professionalism and quality of the 10 x 14 paved patio. They ran into some challenging tree roots, and still finished the job on time and on budget. Raul was recommended to me by a friend and I am happy to recommend his company to anyone reading this. I will provide a photo once I have completed the garden in that area.

Raul and his team installed a paver walkway and patio extension at our home in Skokie. Great design suggestions, efficient installation, and thorough clean-up! We are really happy with the results! Be aware that responses werent the quickest, but it was a busy time of year and all my queries were answered eventually. I recommend them and will most likely use again.

We highly recommend R & G. They tore down the old fence, dug up dead trees and built a new fence in our back. The fence looks great. They were responsive when we realized we wanted more grading of parts of the land near the fence. Days later, separate dead trees cut a power line and they quickly responded to our request to cut those down. Looking forward to continuing to call on them for help.

He looked at my front yard and said he will email me his estimate but he never did. Unreliable and waste of my time.

We had a great experience working with the R&G Almanza Landscaping team! Our home had a weed infested front and back yard. Lots of dead spots. They came with a very reasonable quote to remove the grass/weeds and install new sod in the front and back yard. We had R & G Almanza remove some concrete sidewalk pavers in our rear yard and replace them with a flat-stone path at our home in Evanston, IL. They did remarkable work and the finished project looks incredible. They were quick, responsive and cleaned up the job site very well when they were finished. Highly recommended.

Almanza removed sections of old fence and installed a total of about 100 ft of custom cedar fence with gates: 80 ft with vertical lattice to replace previous side and rear perimeter fences and 20 ft of shorter 4ft tall fence between a detached garage and the house along the driveway. The 6ft tall fence with a top lattice was not cheap, but it exceeded our expectations in its high quality---the edges are planed and the lattice rods are solid 1 square cross-section and embedded in a routed out center of the top rail--made like solid wood furniture, not like the more typical flat lattice. They also installed a retaining wall at the rear of the property where our backyard is about 8 higher than the alley, and they poured a concrete pad off the alley for our garbage cans. We appreciated that they listened carefully to our non-standard needs for fences that were not simply straight sections and they checked with us for each detail of the project to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it. Raul Sr or Raul Jr or both were usually on site to make sure that the work was done correctly, and they had enough workers on the job that the work was done pretty quickly once the job was started. One example of attention to detail concerns the ends of the fences at building walls where posts could not be installed, so the fences attach to 2x4s rather than 4x4 posts. The nice detail is that that the ends of the 2x4s were still capped by half caps to match the caps on the posts. Their response to my initial email to schedule an estimate was a little slow, but we are glad that we waited until we heard back instead of just going with another company with a faster initial response. We are very glad that we hired R&G Almanza for our fence project because we got just what we wanted and the fence is actually better than we expected.

Weve were pleased with the work and the end result. R&G provided us with choices and made the entire process seamless.

Fence Review We recently had 3 different companies come out to give us a quote for a 70 foot stretch of wood fence to replace an old chain link fence. We also needed to have some landscaping done to remove roots and bushes that had grown through and around the chain link fence. Raul, from R&G Almanza Landscaping in Skokie, came out to give us a quote for just the landscaping, but he asked who was doing the fence and he let us know that his company also did fences. He sent us some photos of his work and we were glad to find a company that would do the landscaping, old fence removal and new fence building and we were SO happy with this company. Within 48 hours of having our permit for the fence, Raul and his team of 5 arrived at 7:45 in the morning (as promised) and by 4pm, everything was done. They were fast, efficient and their fence work was solid, straight and very impressive. We could not have been happier and highly recommend them if you need yard work or a fence built and their price was very competitive. The day after the fence was installed we noticed one piece of wood that had a rather large imperfection along with two screws that were not quite fully screwed down. We texted Raul about these small issues and his team came out the very same day and took care of them. We will definitely use Raul and his team again in the future if we need any work done!

I spoke to the owner of the company, Raul, multiple times over the course of several days and agreed with him on a date when he would plant some trees for us. So on the agreed-upon date, I have the trees delivered and try calling him and texting him and he never showed up. Just unbelievable that someone would do that.

We have contracted with them for a number of years and they have done an excellent job for us.
