Worst experience I have ever had. They sold me on things that didn t even happen and added services that I did not ask for. The Sioux Falls sales manager won t return phone calls. Very unprofessional!

Today I did call Tru Green and renew for summer 2024 but hope what they do has changed abit cause what I saw last summer was not professional at all. The guy comes thinking no one is around, now granted I have a very small lawn but I watch as his interest in my lawn is not there as he smokes a cigarette and throws the butt on my lawn, doesn t even take 10 minutes of time to do the application and acts like he s gonna fall over putting back the equipment on his truck! Most of the employees that came to do the applications over last summer did not spend over 15 minutes zooming around FAST and makes me wonder what they really do put on my lawn? This will be the last year if I don t see improvement. Donna Day Beck

Had someone come out today for our monthly lawn service. My husband and I were both home. The lawn person had the audacity to only treat the front lawn for approximately 2 minutes, then just up and drove away without even doing the backyard. We pay for both lawns to be serviced. For as many people that work from home these days, that s pretty ballsy.

Herman is always very friendly and answers all my questions no matter how stupid they may be.

Devon was very knowledgeable and answered my questions and gave me tips for my lawn.

Their product works but be ready to be bombarded with phone calls. I called for a quote, was told by an operator in Georgia that my calling her while walking was annoying her. I hung up. She called back 42 times. Then sent my number to a call center where I received 9 voice-mails, all from different states, each saying they can give me more discounts.

I believe I had five applications all together, counting the aeration and overseeding I just had done today. I must say that my experience certainly depends on the technician that shows up. Some are done way too quickly, and totally ignore the edges and small areas of my lawn. Roscoe and Nathaniel get an A+ from me as they both took time to talk to me and were very thorough in their applications. They say you dont have to be home during the service, but now I know that I will talk to whoever shows up, and keep watching them while they work. I have way too much crabgrass and sticker grass in the peripheral areas of my lawn due to lazy edging.

Satisfactorily applied fertilizer and weed control over whole lawn. This is the first application, so we will see how soon we see results.

Disappointed that after 3 years of weed control and fertilizer application we still have patches of crabgrass and thistles, especially in the parking/boulevard areas next to the curb, Would like to see them spit treat areas next to shrubs and plants.

It s worst worst worst service company, I bought their basic plan for 400+, for 6 fertilizers services( aeration and seeding not included ),after that their guy came to my home,did aeration which was for someone else lawn and they charged me 200+for that, I called them and they refund me but after that they were keep calling to buy their mosquitos plans,tree plans ,it was horrible every day to explain them why I don t need their these services but nobody told me that they cancelled one of my service from my plan which I bought for 400+n for their guy aeration mistake,that was your mistake but they cancelled one of my service for that and they didn t even told me that your plan is over,and they didn t even give me my 6 services i paid for,and now they charged my card again and when I call their center in my town they said they can t refund and when I called their customer service,it was horrible,extremely horrible.they tells you it s your fault,it is scam,don t use it,pathetic ,they don t even deserve 1 star, and when I told customer service lady to cancel my service,she is asking me,do you want to continue this service for next year for 50%off, I was like are you serious, I told her I don t want your service anymore even you give me 100%off

Gave them another try and was ok service last year. Called this year to add two properties to there list. They would not let me talk to my local office to explain where I want services rendered. Told me the can t transfer my call, give me a number to call, or send an email to my local office to get ahold of me. Don t waist your money or time on this company!!! Pushy sales people. I prepaid for 6 month of service. 3rd month was already sending me a bill. Tried to billing me for product that wasn t even applied. Been fighting with them for a month trying to get everything resolved. Was told I would get a call back from local manager never have. Call center has no clue!! Spend your money with a local company that you can actually call directly!!

Not only did they not perform the services I paid for, but they also left gates open where my dog could have gotten out. They made no effort to even perform the service they didn t do! On top of all that after I tried to cancel 3+ times (which they told me the last time it went through) they still came this following year and charged me for a service I did not want because I thought I was canceled.

I was working from home today and I noticed that the neighbors lawn was getting serviced. I watched and wondered if they had thought that it was part of our lawn. I went out there and asked if they were doing the lawn service for xyz lawn and they said yeah. I was like its the wrong lawn. My house is over here and he was like I saw the 2 and the 4 and Im like its the wrong lawn. So he came over and did my lawn but honestly now I am worried if I am at work if it will actually get done. I called and they assured me it would but that doesnt reassure me either. So if I were you I would not use this company.

Shotty service, price increases, continuous calls trying to upsell different services, damaged property during service and just left without any notice or follow up, NOT LOCAL, call center customer service, extremely difficult to cancel. I canceled services but they continued to come to my house and automatically bill me. I highly recommend using a local company over TruGreen!

My lawn was serviced twice in one week and now my grass has burn spots all over. I have called to complain and no one has even called me back.

Do NOT use. Used for tree and shrub feeding. Fight trying to get them to call me back was Awful. Couldnt tell me what was happening to my evergreens. They wrongly identified one of them as being over watered. Waited MONTHS for them to figure out what was finally wrong. I now have 4 dead trees. Had to call every week to try and get an update. I have to continue to tell them the issue as apparently they dont take notes on your account. Tell everyone you know, not to use them. Do not use.

Seriously the most pushy and irritating sales people after repeatedly telling them your not interested in there service.

Lawn was terrible in the beginning of 2020, after doing service last year, my lawn has jumped from last on the block to one of the best!

They are continuing to contact me about services on a property I sold over a year ago and it is near impossible to get a live person on the phone.

RUN!!!! Do NOT use this company! We were charged for services we did not sign up for! We have been waiting for a $400 refund and have yet to see it! Called repeatedly, if you want to add service you can talk to someone immediately, if there s an issue...ha! good luck, you will be on hold for over an hour and if you press 1 for someone to call you back, they won t! This company is a bunch of scam artists! If I don t get my refund this week I will be calling my CC company and saying my card was fraudulently charged and call the BBB.

Horrible experience, they would burn my yard(multiple occasions) and then send out a specialist who would say oh it s fine, it ll come back in a couple weeks. I cancelled services, then the following year they showed up in the spring and applied more product and said I had only canceled the rest of last seasons care. They could care less about quality. Also a ridiculous amount of phone calls for additional services.

Lawn is looking great after a year of their care

Absolute disaster of a company! I signed up for basic fert/weed control/grub control. I was told the first application for all three of those services would be $50 for a first time discounted price. Later that week, I was billed $150 - three times the amount I was quoted - and nobody even showed up to provide the service! Trugreen s unethical, non transparent, sales oriented approach to customer service is disgusting and I would implore anyone and everyone to FIND A DIFFERENT LAWN CARE PROVIDER!

Not a good company, my yard still looks awful. They billed me after trying to cancel my account and somehow the representative tried to make it seem like its my fault theyre continually billing me despite me requesting the service be stopped. GL getting a refund... Im switching back to Action Lawn.

Tru Green did not live up to their contract. They did not show up in a timely manner, and at times only did the front yard. My main weed problem was in the back yard. Now I am forced to pay them 400+ dollars and they did nothing for me. I got the big speech from Cody, who told me he was the supervisor, to call him anytime I needed anything. But, when I tried to call him, he would not answer his phone or return my call. He had promised me an extra treatment on the thistles in the back yard, but that never happened either. Now, they continue to call me. First on bill pay. I had paid in full at the start. What was left to pay????? Now I get calls to set up service for next year. Haha, I dont think so. Think twice before you go with this company. For their lack of service, I should have gotten a full refund, but I only got half. They lied to my card company and got away with it so no dispute for me. So angry, but I guess I learned a lesson. Never, never, go with the big company that does not care about their customers.

I simply inquired online to receive an estimate. I received a phone call within minutes, she went through the sales pitch and I determined it was not in my price range so I ended the conversation. In the following 24 hours I received 8 PHONE CALLS and 4 TEXT MESSAGES! I told 2 different sales people to remove me from their system. I finally told them I will sit on hold until it is confirmed Im out of the system. She confirmed Im on the do not call list but said it can take up to 3 WEEKS for the system to delete my info from all of their other systems, and I could possibly be getting phone calls for that entire 3 weeks. Their marketing is borderline harassment. Im not even a customer, but Im positive I never will be!

A Sales person called me today and was arguing with me and was so rude and extremely pushy and wouldnt stop no matter what I said. I dont know how many times I can nicely say Im not interested in your service! Im tired of being hassled, I tried your service a few years go and had a poor experience and the service is over priced.

Zero stars on this company, they are scammers. Do not use True Green in Sioux Falls, SD. A guy named Lynn talked me into a plan in the fall for some aeration and over seeding. Then he tried to sign me up for a full plan for the for the following spring. I specifically told him no, I said I would call him if I wanted the service. Come April True Green showed up when I wasnt home, put down some fertilizer and charged my credit card $80.00. Stay away from this company, their a bunch of con artists.

Do your research before you decide to work with this company. I wish I did. Besides the reviews you see on here, theres soooo much more... You can even find a Facebook group with all the complaints and problems others have had nationwide, I cant believe they even have a group for it. Im sure theres more on BBB too. Support your local businesses. Dont fall victim like I did, Ill leave it as that. You decide if you still want trugreen after doing your own research.

Sadly I have to agree with all the poor reviews. They continue to charge me for services I have declined. Now they are sending creditors for services I specifically cancelled. Steer clear! There has to be better options out there.

Door salesman was insulting towards my wife trying to sell services. As a result I went with Action Lawn Service for weed treatment and seeding. After seeing their sign in our yard he had the audacity to return to complain to my wife for the choice I made, insulting both her and myself in the process... Feeling pretty good about the choice I made, thanks.

I will never use again. Finally agreed to them after their pushy sales tactics and they left my gate open when they left so my dogs were able to get out.

So far so good. They have rejuvenated my boulevards and thinking my lawn. Great job

A representative came to my door to inquire about our lawn care, needs, etc. I answered a few questions but to avoid wasting his time I informed him that we are very happy and loyal to Green4ever. He then asked a few more questions and made some negative & unprofessional comments regarding the quality of the competitors work. I did not appreciate his unnecessary comments. Talking poorly about another business is a terrible sales pitch and reflects poorly on your business.

Negative experience w salespeople due to persistent refusal to leave. Try Green will NOT TREAT THISTLES! USELESS!

Overpriced!!! They applied more chemicals then what I asked for and then they charge for it. Just cancelled. Avoid this company, there has to be cheaper alternatives with more integrity.

Dont trust them

I do not use this service and am not looking to change, my neighbor has his own and we like to use local. However, the young man spraying for mosquitoes at 11:30 in Hartford went above his job. I went over to talk, mostly to make a joke about hoping he was spraying for rabbits since they live under the evergreen where he was. We exchanged a few comments and I went back to mowing. But before he left the area, he came back up and had googled a product I could apply to keep them away. So maybe the salesman are pushy but this worker was very friendly. The world needs more of this.

I was having a great day until a salesman by the name of Lynn rang our door bell. 1st he never asked if I had a moment he immediately, in a rude manner asked if I had gotten his card in our door. I said yes, I got your flyer. However we were not interested as we have a friend spray 2xs per year. He just kept talking over me, I repeatedly told him my lawn is my last worry in life or financially as my husband had a massive stroke and I actually had to go to work. He again continued to speak over me. By this moment I was in shock. He dissed our friend for spraying which we did not have to pay for. I told him our community sticks together to help each other. After knowing we were financially strapped he still pushed. I literally was in shock. I am a sales person myself and would never act this way. I have been top sales for years in a row prior to being my husbands ft caregiver and still working. Shame on Lynn for being rude, obnoxious and not using a breath mint after smoking. My husband smoked for years and never presented himself to his clients in that manner. I would not recommend this company to anyone if they hire employees like this.

I have had true green for 2 years now after buying my house. In those two years they have not been able to control the weeds growing along my fence. I have talked to them several times about this and been given the run around. Today I called again and was treated to some of the worst customer service I can remember. I called a local number but was answered by a national call center. Shameka took my call and treated me like I didnt know what a weed looked like, was very condescending, and offered no satisfaction, other than to say she would send an e-mail to the Sioux falls office. At that point I canceled my service and told her that I would never recommend true green. She Didnt care. Bad Company, waste of money. I will be looking for a local company to do my lawn which is what I should have done in the first place.

They are dishonest. I was told monthly payments and they took the full $300 out my account. Then they skipped my second spray down and said they ran out probably of receipt paper and flags to notify that they been there. It s been 5 months and I still have weeds!! Green 4 ever is the best company to go to. Once I switched they actually took care of my lawn.

Salesman was great. A real slickster. Service was awful. Killed more flowers than weeds. Prices were high - results terrible. Had we not been paying attention we would have been charged for service not performed. Absolutely terrible - buyer beware!!!! I usually don t take time to write reviews but this was such a bad experience I wanted to warn others. The service was so bad it is hard to believe it wasn t intentional. But hey, at least I got to spend hundreds of dollars on a service, only to have to respray my weeds again myself and lost hundreds of dollars worth of plants in my yard and still have ants in the house. Super frustrating!!

My husband and I have been highly unimpressed with TruGreen services in Sioux Falls, SD. Prior to committing to services, we politely declined the aeration services they provide as we would take care of this service ourselves. Without informing us prior, they completed the aeration service on our lawn and charge us nearly $300 for the service. When we called to cancel services, they offered a slight refund and a discount on future services to which we agreed to. Our service technician, has since came out twice after the aeration and has fried the lawn with weed control. The services are highly unjustifiable and the technicians lack the knowledge they need to be having for paying customers.

They came and knocked on our door to sell us lawn care products. Spent an hour walking around the property. Told us why our trees and shrubs weren t doing well and offered a great program that would fix it all. Of course tried to up sell a lot of unnessary stuff which was expected. Long story short, they never showed up. We called at least 3 times in 2 months. They finally came and did the wrong thing. I finally got angry and of course got told that it was too late to get what we actually needed done completed because it was too late in the season. And of course some one should have caught that on our last too calls so late in October. Had to then fight to get a full refund. Don t use this company. Even if their products work, it s probably not worth the hassle and their disorganization.

I did not even renew my services with the company and they come in and place crab grass killer on my lawn. I had just placed waterlock grass seed on the lawn. They put in the comments that they talked to me and I did not even talk to them which I have a new number. My seed I put down was over $60.00 and is now worthless on my lawn. Then they put on the comments on my bill that Grass is Green and developing. I did that to my lawn. I hired a new company to do my lawn care. Very frustrated because they gave me a bill plus ruined my grass seed for $60.00.. (4/14/17)

I was minding my own business in my yard when a Tru Green employee approached me. He proceeded to ask me who cares for my yard. Instead of introducing himself and being kind he stared at me in a mean and pompous look. I told him I was happy with my service for my lawn company. He continued the attitude and I asked him to either give me a helpful suggestions or leave. He said I had been over watering. Well it had just rained so what the heck. I asked him to leave again for the second time. Long story short you need to train youride employees to mind their I will business. I felt uneasy and was very uncomfortable.

Dont bother even trying to work with these guys in Sioux Falls. They seem to understand English but dont hear a word you say . When you try to communicate anything the subject is changed with a very uptight and short temper. For any kind of service you should look elsewhere. Very unorganized and total BS.

I am not a customer but have had them solicit me several times. Thats not why I write this review. This morning im driving to work and traffic was worse than normal on Cliff Avenue (near 49th street). I thought there was an accident or something....... nope just a Trugreen truck parked on Cliff avenue at 7:38 a.m. on a workday servicing a lawn. No common sense at all - cant you do that house at some other time of the day than the busiest time of the day? After I read the other posts im convinced if I ever do hire lawn service it will not be this company.

Zero stars on the rating scheme should be an option. Dont bother with this company - terrible. I ordered and paid for a treatment on 5 May, the rep said I would be contacted within 5-7 days, nothing heard from them. I called on day 8 and they said that I am not on the schedule and they would schedule me in the next 7-10 days. meanwhile the weeds continue to grow! I canceled the service - I hope they honor the refund doubt it.

Double applied on consecutive days. which resulted in dead spots all over my yard. started inquiring to get it resolved in September of 2016. Called several times left several messages for a supervisor, filled a BBB complaint and finally in March of 2017 got a call back from a supervisor. After a couple of missed appointments, the replaced the dead spots with dead sod... that didnt work so then they seeded which left large holes in my yard. Then as a sorry the offered to aerate, well they did this when it was raining and got their machine stuck which tore up my lawn even worse and left large scratches on my neighbors fence... No happy ending here my yard still looks worse than when they started...

do you intend to hire sales people with no people skills? When I told him I prefer to do my own lawn care he said it looks like it. As I was closing the door he said the truth hurts. I may hire a lawn care service in the future, but you can trust that it will not be trugreen.

Crooks. Used them last year it did nothing for my lawn. At the end a salesmen called and asked if I would like to use them again the next year I said no and he got aggressive and defensive. They still came back this year even though I cancelled and theyre still trying to get me to pay for the work I didnt want done. Did I mention it does nothing for your lawn.

Very Unprofessional! They aerated my neighbors lawn without marking either of our sprinklers...made two full passes on mine, busted one up pretty good. Im lucky they didnt hit more!

I purchased a package from them one summer for a year worth of application. They automatically renewed it the next year with no warning or permission. They comped that application after I complained and they gave me a healthy discount to sign up for a second year. Even with that their door to door salesman still showed up during bed time for my kids and I couldnt get him to leave for a good 10 minutes. I now have gotten 2 calls in 2 days by pushy salesmen for a bug treatment. The first caller even worded it like I already had approved it and they just were confirming the day worked. Overall their product seems to be fine but their salesmen are pushy, and they only will let you cancel your service after the last application even though you have already paid for a specific number of applications up front. I look forward to cancelling them next year when my prepaid applications have been completed.

There is a tru green truck on pennsylvannia avenue right now, and the mix of their chemicals is making people sick, I saw someone walk by truck and throw up, I am five houses away and my eyes are stinging, I think that this person has no idea how to mix the chemicals properly. I am concerned for public saftey. I am going to contact SFFD for a chemical spill response.

No better than Jehovah Witnesses, banging at your door. If you have a service people want, they will come to you. My wife does not to be bothered while working at home and being pressured with a sales pitch. Stay away from our house!
