This is our third year using Matthew s for our Christmas lights install. They communicate wonderfully, install perfectly, and do quality checks after install and then again after take down. I just needed a valve located and replaced for my irrigation system and was not getting much help until I called Matthews. The initial phone call was pleasant and the quick response was unexpected. After being notified, Nick showed up on time for the initial inspection. He was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything and located my problem valve within minutes of arrival. Same experience with the return trip for actual repairs. I d definitely recommend them and will call them for future needs.

Matthews consistently performs excellent work: from the first contact in the office to the evaluation after the project is complete. Our manager, Sarah, was very hands on and listened to our objective and how to get there, including the most financially feasible path! We are repeat customers for a reason- they keep their word and work with integrity.

The communication with this landscaping team is amazing, they were able to work with my busy work schedule and found a time that worked with me. Matthews Landscape Did an aeriation to my yard. According to every sprinkler person Ive spoken with they should mark your sprinkler heads with flags. Matthews said that would take too long so they do not do it. Broke two of my heads costing $300. Ive called in twice and not until the second time they tell me since they were not able to fix the heads themselves I would not be compensated for their mistake. Cancelled Immediately!! And fixing to post on all social media! Would have given 0 stars but could not post without selecting 1.

My yard looks SO GOOD, the guys that take care of my lawn are so friendly and helpful, even take requests; and Matthews is awesome at staying in touch, letting me know whats going on. Its not the cheapest service in town and you can tell by looking at my lawn.

Fast and excellent service! I have received many complements from my neighbors. They are a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for, and are comfortable knowing they will take care of you all the way through.

I dont think I could have asked for better service! Theyre extremely understanding and will work around your specific needs. I initally asked for them to clean up the front flowerbed and not only did they do a fantastic job but they were also easy to work with from billing, plan management for their maintenance plan, and general customer service! We have seen Matthews crews in Provenance quite a lot in the past few years, but didn t know as there are others. But our good friends across the alley spoke very highly of Matthews landscape but particularly about Ashley. They said they requested a lot of exotic plants that attract butterflies and Ashley knew about them and was excited herself about the unusual project. We were looking for something else altogether; we are preparing the house for sale and the garden needed tending .badly. Ashley came to the house and was a delight to work with. She s a girly girl that wears mud boots, especially with all this rain!!! She figured out what we needed, showing actual examples in other yards or in photos; we came to an agreement and then we signed up. They came back as soon as the plants came, maybe a week. Ashley showed up to make sure each plant was positioned exactly where she said they would and it all looked as she had said it would, and better than my expectations (rare these days, sadly). We had torrential rain that night but the next day it looked great still. Not sure how they do that! I highly recommend Matthew s and that you request Ashley!

A wonderful experience after having another Landscape group do a poor job. They are friendly, on time, and very detailed in finding what you want and making sure it happens. When plants die they replace them. It has actually been a joy working with them, so much so I feel like they are family. They also installed a Paver path in the backyard to help with drainage and it is beautiful.

We ve worked with at Ashley at Matthews to update our front and back beds over the past two years. They ve done an excellent job transforming the space into a haven for pollinators and are by far the most responsive landscapers we ve worked with. Would highly recommend.

Thanks to Ashley Pitre my yard looks great again. After last year s winter and summer s heat my Viburnum plants were dead and she had a crew come and dig up all dead ones and replanted new ones. Ashley waited until she got healthy and big ones before they replanted. The beds were cleaned out and fresh new pine straw was put back in. All beds got trimmed and new straw. Pulled up old plants and replaced with new ones. Loved the work that performed, so I had them plant color in front beds. It a joy to come home and see my beautiful yard! Not sure where to start to be honest but before I do, we have confirmed by two other reputable lawn care companies and representatives from the LSU Ag Center that our yard, in fact, DOES NOT HAVE ROOT ROT! No matter how many times Matthews s states such. Reference pics show a lawn de-thatch job that was too aggressive; one pic even shows how the technician went to bare dirt before realizing such and raise the deck height but didn t raise the height enough to continue without permanently damaging my centipede grass. Additionally, the service was conducted far too soon in the growing season with both aforementioned issues being agreed upon by the LSU Ag center. This has been nothing short of a nightmare to come home and look at each day only to be made worse by the fact Matthew s refusing to admit any wrongdoing. Soil analysis and honest PHD level experts have proven root rot is not the culprit. Heck, wouldn t it be conceivable for my neighboring yards to have root rot but guess what they have green grass! One other point to throw out there is how rude and condescending the owner of Matthew s was to my wife. Such a shame for a grown man to act that way towards any customer. Lastly, I wanted to post of a couple of pics of what our grass typically looks like once growing season hits. Unless we completely re-sod our yard, it will never come back to looking the same and we are left with this shitshow all thanks to Matthew s Landscape and Pest.

Two treatments, lawn is clearly improving.

While many in our Shreveport subdivision lost much of their St. Augustine to the extreme weather problems we had earlier this year, my husband and I lost every blade of grass in our backyard. We initially called 4 businesses that advertised sod replacement, 3 never returned our calls, the other scheduled an appointment but broke it. Thats when someone recommended Matthews Landscape. My husband called one morning, Ashley came that afternoon to survey the damage! I cant think of a really good word to express not only how pleased we are with the sod that was brought in yesterday but, equally important, our admiration for the team who did the work. In brutal heat and humidity, they could have easily not worked so hard to prepare the rock hard soil, they could have not meticulously trimmed the sod to fit around flowerbed corners and curves, they could (like so many others) have left a mess for someone else to clean up but their obvious determination to do a beautiful job was really impressive and bears recognition. They worked tirelessly as a team and when they left, the only indication theyd been here was a pretty lawn that neighbors were soon stopping to see. We have lived here 50 years, always pampered and enjoyed our yard, always done most of the work ourselves but that all gets harder every season and I feel like weve found not only a company but real people who can help us with other big projects, like landscaping our front yard. We are 100% satisfied and would recommend Matthews to anyone!

Very professional, courteous, and reliable. I previously dealt with a national, well known yard service company and noticed as time went on they would spend less and less time on my yard which meant large areas of my yard were not getting treated. Matthews has been the complete opposite. I am home during the day and so I see how thorough Matthews crew really are. I should add that they do not knock on your door before they get started or after so they have no idea if you are home or not. You get a notification the day before they are coming and you get a text and/or email when they are finished letting you know they came and what treatment they did. It is so refreshing now days to deal with a company that does what they say they are going to do.

I met with Ashley to help with cleaning out and restoring several of our flowerbeds and was blown away with her and the office staff being so responsive to our immediate landscaping needs. Ashely was out the next day after I called and determined quickly what was needed, offered suggestions and took all my request and wants. Afterwards, the landscaping crew came and completely overhauled our beds and created a beautiful curb appeal for our home. It s really hot right now so we couldn t add flowers, but in the Fall, landscaping will return with some color to add to our existing beds. The crew from Mathews was extremely professional and went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did they remove the limbs that I have had piled up, they also raked everything around them and blew the leaves off my whole driveway!

We hired Matthews to completely redo our front beds. Ashley came to the house the same day I called and immediately had a vision for our yard. She is truly an expert and has a great eye for design. The crew that removed all of the old plant material worked extremely fast and did a thorough job of removing old roots. I was so impressed by how meticulously they worked; those guys take a lot of pride in what they do and are master landscapers. Matthews also repaired our irrigation system. We had a number of leaks and it took multiple days of hard, steadfast labor- Chris did a great job and was able to fix everything. We have had such a wonderful experience with Matthews. We are now hiring them to install Christmas lights and will continue using their landscaping services forever.

EDIT: After seeing my review, Matthews Landscape sent someone to assess my lawn and offered a free treatment should we decide to try again. This was a very gracious gesture. Although we politely declined because this wasn t working for us, I would encourage everyone to give them a chance. It just didn t work out for us, but that doesn t mean the same for everyone. They are true professionals and are very responsive: two traits that are becoming increasingly rare in modern day small businesses. Had Matthews Landscape for my lawn maintenance. Had a comprehensive plan with them for weed control, aeration, etc. We gave them a year as recommended on their initial newsletter. Unfortunately, we saw more weeds grow during this time. Their treatments simply consisted of applying some sort of chemical over the corners of the lot. We watered our lawns in the recommended timeframe after our treatment as they had suggested but to no avail. I expected them to maybe put weed killers directly into one particular area if they re seeing a dense weed growth in one place but that wasn t the case. It was a generic treatment diffusely applied without any thought for the overall lawn maintenance. The one bright spot is their communication. They were available every time I called and adjusting/cancelling plans was very simple and straightforward.

Weve had Matthews come out twice now to do a general cleanup of all the dead branches, weeds, and overgrowth in our yard. Both times we have been impressed with their professionalism and the quality of the jobs done. They did an amazing job all around, but we especially appreciated how well they trimmed the bushes and that they leave nothing behind.

There are cheaper landscapers in Shreveport but Matthews is punctual, professional and willing to work within a budget and within time constraints. I landed a tenant at the property that they cleaned up for me the day after they finished work.

Our yard needed a fairly major landscape overhaul due to old growth on shrubs and the hard freeze. Peyton came and gave advice on what needed to be taken out, what needed a substantial trim, and what plants would work as replacements. The Matthews yard crew came the next week (in the rain) to tear out shrubs, trim old growth, and add mulch. The yard looks so much better. Matthews repaired my irrigation system quickly and efficiently! They also performed a long overdue overhaul of the landscaping around my home! Peyton provided a detailed estimate and proposal and was also very responsive and professional when we asked about suggestions for suitable alternatives. I was informed about their arrival the day before my scheduled job, and they were very prompt in their arrival the next day. It began to rain during the job that day which prevented them from finishing it on that day. The crew returned early and promptly the next morning to complete the job and did so impeccably! We almost immediately noticed neighbors slowing down as they passed and received compliments as well. Peyton also followed up with me afterward for my feedback concerning the job. What prevented me from giving them the fifth star was that a sign posted in the area where the work was done was broken during the job and the pieces of it were left in my yard that I had to remove and dispose of. Not much of an issue, though. I would use them again, and we have already recommended them to friends.

I hired Matthews Landscape to get all the weeds, grass, and ground cover vines out of my front beds and to trim my shrubs to about the same size. They also replace a sickly shrub and put down all new mulch. They did a great job and cleaned up and disposed of old mulch and trimmings extremely well. We recently used Matthews Landscape to sod parts of our yard. We had several places in our yard that were completely bare because of root rot caused by a fungus. We were very impressed with the quality of their workmanship! The areas that were sodded blended perfectly with our existing grass. It all looked very beautiful and professional! They are also treating the fungas problem as well! They have also put together a plan of treatment for our yard to get it back in shape. We would highly recommend!

Ashley was wonderful to work with. She got back with us for a quote same day as checking out what needed to be done. Her team came out within the week for pampas grass and shrub removal and clean up. They were all very nice and professional. It even started storming and the team tried to wait out the storm so they could get back to work. Although you get what you pay for and more, so it is worth it.

They have a pretty good system and everything seems to flow really well between the office and the guys in the field. They did a great job with installation of the French drain. With the rain weve had , our back porch barely gets wet and our back yard doesnt flood. The new sod is doing great too. I had some questions about the sod two weeks after install and they sent someone out the next business day to check it. So far so good.

I was very pleased with Matthews. They did a great job with my landscaping. The best was my representative, Maddy! I had trouble with flowers dying in one particular bed. She made a suggestion to plant zinnias. They are beautiful and still alive months later. Maddy came out at the end of the day to make sure I was happy with the work. She also texted me the next week to check on the zinnias! Not very often to come across people like Maddy!

we reached out to Matthews landscaping for flower bed clean up and soding a portion of our backyard. we had received an estimate from another company also. We went with Matthews, even though they were a bit more, because they were knowledgeable, extremely professional, and very detailed. we received the estimate within hours or reviewing the property. The person who reviewed our property was so knowledgeable and took one look and knew what the problem was. They even sent us all of their company document like liability insurance and license numbers. highly recommend and we will look to them for future projects.

We contacted Matthews Landscaping for our flower bed maintenance and they responded quickly by sending Emily out for an estimate. Within a day, Matthews Landscaping had forwarded an estimate for our approval, then scheduled the work immediately, and started this project within a few days of our initial phone call. The landscape crew was efficient, courteous, and eager to please as were all of their employees. Matthews Landscaping were very professional, prompt, and informative throughout this project. Huge shout out to Garrett and the entire staff! Upon moving to Southern Trace in March our property required a lot of attention. Hosea and team promptly removed entire backyard landscaping and completely refurbished our entire yard, David and team has since completed our under ground drainage system, and this past week, Hosea and team sodden our entire back yard! Christie and my goal has been to obtain one of the most pristine lawns in Southern Trace. So grateful we reached out to Matthews Landscaping! I cant say anything bad about this company! I originally reached out to this company for Christmas lights. Someone came out the same day for an estimate. I also had the estimate emailed to me shortly after. I thought about it for a bit and during that time, this company continued to check in to see if I had any questions. I then called them about coming out to do my flowerbeds. Again, I had an estimate the same day and they were out the following day to perform the work. The flowerbeds turned out great. So, while I was still thinking about the Christmas lights someone reached out again to see if I had any questions. I was discussing the pricing with them and a rep said they would call me back. Ashley reached out and blessed my family with the lights. They came out the next day to install the lights and they look fantastic. Im very pleased with their work and I look forward to using them in the future. If you want great customer service and work performed in a timely manner, Matthews is the way to go!

I really can t say enough about Matthews Landscaping. I use to use another company before MLS and had okay service for a while and then felt taken advantage of because of language used to me on the phone from them. I saw MLS on Facebook and thought I d give them a shot. I did and moving forward will always use them. They make it so easy to do business with and always go the extra mile to take care of their customers. I love the tips that they post and would highly recommend them!

I cant say enough about what a great company this is! I contacted Matthews online through their website to get an estimate to replace grass in the back yard. They contacted me right away, came out for a site visit, and gave me an estimate all in the same day. The drainage in the yard was terrible, so, knowing that the success of the new lawn was dependent on removing the excess water, they also gave me an estimate to install a drain system. Despite days of unending rain, they managed to finish up the entire job in less than three weeks and it looks great!! They also trimmed the crepe myrtles and theyve never looked better. I couldnt be happier with their work and will now be using them for our regular lawn maintenance.

Last year I started with Matthews Landscaping and spent a total of $270, primarily to have a nice looking, weed free lawn. That didnt happen. I had to call them back to get rid of weeds around August. This February 2019, I paid $45 for the first early treatment to Prevent spring and summer weeds. I notice that there were more weeds all over my lawn. I contacted them and on March 27th they re-sprayed. Instead of dying weeds, I saw MORE and different ones. I contacted them again and they told me that I had Dallis Weeds and would have to get RoundUp to kill them or dig them up. I told them that I have a lawn full of weeds in addition to Dallis Weeds. They wanted me to wait longer. Today is April 12th. The photos here were taken this morning. In one photo, with the short white post......You can see the weeds in my lawn in comparison to the almost weed free vacant lots beyond that. My grass is not growing and I have big bare spots. By the way, an article on Dallis Grass stated the best way to prevent it is to have a Healthy Lawn. I cancelled by account. I can get weeds for free. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, UPDATE, APRIL 13, 2019: I just read the response from Matthews, in which they keep talking about Dallis Grass... ..As Ive mentioned often in this review MY LAWN IS FULL OF WEEDS....IN ADDITION TO DALLIS GRASS. Which I only had growing in my lawn AFTER I contracted with them. Just look at the photos of other weeds.

I recently hired Mathews Landscaping based on the reviews from their website and I couldnt have been more pleased! Peyton took my information and was so friendly and Ashley went to my house that same day to survey and provide an estimate. She too was so friendly and helpful and both of them stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process. I had my estimate by 5:00 that afternoon and a crew was at my house the next day at 8:00 a.m sharp. Their job was definitely not an easy, quick one but they were so fast and thorough and completed everything in 2 days. My yard has never looked better! I look forward to my continued work with them in monthly maintenance as well as having a great looking yard. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very unprofessional false advertising I called made an appointment about getting french drainage system installed gave me a date and time no call no show, when I called back they said they are not taking drainage customers the secretaries are incompitant also

I live in the same area that there business is in and couldn t get lawn service at my residence because it s a NEW DEVELOPMENT. Really! I called back to see if they could put in a new flower bed. I was told that they only maintain existing flower beds and I was referred to another company. The advertising is truly misleading. I was very disappointed because I was impressed by the information I read about the company s owner Matthew and how professional and caring he was and what they did. But only to surprise they service certain area and not do certain things. What a let done.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! They dont care to retain customers at all! Didnt show up for 2 weeks although Ive been a customer for two years. I called multiple times since I was having guests for Thanksgiving and my yard was a disaster w/ leaves strewn all about. I was told I would be contacted by a supervisor who never got back to me. When I called again they refused to come and service my yard and told me to have a good day. My husband, after knee surgery, had to clean the yard before our guests arrived. I was shocked at the dreadfully poor service and the fact that they had no desire to keep my business. Make sure NOT to USE this company if you care about keeping your landscape maintained!!!

We have used Matthews Landscaping for several years and they are the very best at keeping our lawn looking good. One of the best things about using Matthews is Ashley Pirte! If ever I have a question about my lawn, I call Ashley and she is always quick to help! We no longer have to buy expensive fire ant poison to try to keep them under control, we let Matthews handle it as well. Also, we like the FB videos! We highly recommend Matthews, theyre awesome! Matthews came out while we were at work, and it was so nice coming home to a cleaned up backyard with all the leaves taken care of, a mini tree cut down, and all of our shrubs trimmed to perfection. They were easy to work with and quick to come out to give an estimate and then back to do the work! We had a great experience with them and will be using them again in the future.

Matthews has been great! We were using them for their lawn fertilization, irrigation, and landscaping packages to start. Then my husband was deployed and I started using them to help with lawn care and weeding and its been such a relief to know my lawn is in good hands. Highly recommend!
